I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

^^Is the card I want to buy^^
But I don't know about how it handles in the gaming world.
In my specs, my motherboard is a PCIE 2.0 but this card is a 3.0.

People say this works fine -- Does it slow down? Will it actually affect me -_-?
Second thing, with this card, is it better to have 1gb gddr5 or 2gb ddr3??? This makes a 30 dollar difference somehow (I want the best graphics and speed I dont care about the price unless its over $100)

My motherboard is micro atx, but Im 88% sure that it will fit, it does look a little bulky, but the only thing that is bulky goes below (where space is in mass). Will it fit?

The card totals $88.00 that's including the 3 dollar shipping (Not tax)
My budget is to get Shipp + tax + actuall product under 100 bucks.
Does this sound like a sweet deal for that card??
Im looking to play skyrim on high to max quality, along with (Especcial this) -- Arma II Dayz mod, people say they have like a Radeon HD 99999999 99999gb ddr9999 ($300 cards) and they lag. Will I be able to play this games on high settings (around ps3[hdmi] or equal/better)? it doesn't exactly have to be 1080p but I want to be able to have lots of quality and FRAMES as I play |large map| or |Short map intense|

Main game styles that I want to handle on high settings with at least 35+ frames:
Arma II w/ Dayz -- Battlefield 3(i know i will need better) -- and Skyrim

If you are calling yourself a gamer, the 7750 won't cut it.
Now, 7850. That will do it.But that costs way over 100 dollars.

Basically, if you do want to game in high/ultra settings with respectable FPS, the 7750 will not cut it.
Also you have not listed what type of PSU you have. You might need to buy one as well for the 7750.

Graphics Newbie - Please Help graphics Experts !!

I bought a Dell Dimesnsion 8300 w/ P4 2.6 ghz and 512 ram. This system has a ATI Radeon 9800 card with it. Iknow after fact, I should bought 9800PRO.

Here's the deal, I've been playing MOHAA and now Call of Duty. This game is great and is all I'll ever play now. I'd like to start playing around with graphics and changing some of the different features on ATI cards.

Here's my questions :

1) Are there sites that explain OR BETTER YET show what all the graphics features are ? Anistropic filtering etc...Maybe this one but I need to look better ??

2) I know the fastest frame rate is the best right ?? or not ?? I've been monitoring COD frame rate ?? What's considered good ?? The fastest ?? I'm running high 60's down to mid-30's. It all looks good to my eye ) What can i expect with my setup ??

3) Anyody have a site that list console commands for COD?? When I extend the frame rate maximum on the console ? Will that hurt my software or hardware ??

Finally, bottom line is I'm looking for more tech info on graphics cards and games. I admit I haven't looked through forum here and that may do it.

Please help and I thank you in advance..

So, that's pretty much it in a nutshell. The CPU Fan works on a system fan header, but no fans work when connected to either of the CPU fan headers. Graphics card fans spin fine, machine lights up, but no video. I have not swapped out the PSU, because I did not think that would affect both CPU fan headers.

If you have any questions, fire away, I am not sure what else to say, this is pretty baffling.

Thanks in advance.

Hello, I hope you are well.

I think that the Power Button in the Start Menu, where users can choose for it to Lock, Sleep, Hibernate, and Shutdown their computers, is very useful. I'd like to somehow tweak it even further, but am not sure if this is even remotely possible.

Is there any way I can change it so that when I press the button, a certain program will start up? Ideally, I'd like to change the action of the Power Button to start up a program called Vista Shutdown Timer (Vista Shutdown Timer), an application which allows me to put on timer on when I'd like the computer to shut down, sleep, etc.

A:Tweaking the Power Button Icon in Start Menu

Hello Vic,

Sorry, but no you cannot have it use another program instead for that. However, you can manually create a shut down shortcut that has a time delay and pin it to the Start Menu or Taskbar to run it manually instead, or just run the program manually to do so.

Customer has brought me a Sony Vaio PCV-C11L and an ATX power supply that he wants installed to replace 'blown' PS.

Motherboard is ASUS P4SD-VL and the existing PS has additional power plug (P2 3-pin) that plugs into port immediately adjacent to main power (P1).
While the physical dimensions will offer a problem to installation...... I think that can be overcome. My greatest concern is just what the P2 is for, since the replacement PS doesn't have that plug . Have not been able to locate a 'map' of this motherboard -- Sony doesn't have any info.....

Howdy. I'm a bit confused about system req's and a game I recently installed. The game, Hyperspace Invader, has the following req's . . . PII-600 / 64M RAM / 16M Video 3D, Windows XP, DirectX 9.0 and I'm running XP HomeSP2/DirectX 9.0c/Celeron CPU 2.93 GHz/ 504mb RAM/ and I don't know how to determine the Video/3D spec.
Anyway, the game runs fine, but I hear my processor kicking into high during game play . . . which I've seldom heard before on this PC.
I guess my real question is if pushing the cpu's is at all dangerous to my computer? I can only hear it during transitions in the game. Is this normal behavior when playing today's video games? Am I hurting my PC?
Thanks in advance, folks!

Hi guys,

I'm looking to upgrade my outdated gaming PC and I need a little advice regarding the Power Supply Unit. I'm going to be using;

GPU: HD5750 (Not Overclocked)
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE OC'd @3.80Ghz (Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 High Performance CPU Cooler)
RAM: Mushkin Silverline (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-880GM-D2H AMD 880G (Socket AM3) Micro-ATX DDR3 Motherboard
Fans: 2x25cm Large Fans with Speed Controls
HDD: Just a stock 120GB for now.

I've been advised I will need 450-500w psu minimum. My current PSU is 520w, however, as it's stock I highly doubt it's of quality. I've taken note of the model and found it online here I'm not really knowledgable with PSU's so my question;

1) Is the above PSU of poor quality
2) Do I need a new PSU?
3) If I need a new PSU, I have been eying up this one: 530w Be Quiet! Any better?

For an idea of what I'd like the computer to do, the games I play are a mix of retro plus modern DX11 and a mix of RPG/Strategy..

S.T.A.L.K.E.R Series
Gothic Series
Stronghold Series (Waiting for Stronghold 3)
Risen Series (Waiting for Risen 2)

About a week ago, another member here (Jimmy The Hand), addressed another thread of mine in reference to creating a script in Access 2k that would take a field entry from a form, and check to see if a directory existed, and if not, it would create a directory by that name, then open the directory if the user chose to do so.

Below is the code that we worked on, and things with the code work great for what I was initially using it on. However....

I have since taken my original database, split it (frontend/backend), and placed the backend on the main file server, and this is the computer that I need for the script to check the directory, and then create it based on the field name (In the code below, the field name is "edbx1").

Jimmy has been off line for a few days now, and given his line of work, may be quite busy. In the meantime, I have read some information about 'UNC', removed the drive mapping that I had initially set up using the standard "Map Network Drive" in explorer, and tried establishing the drive L: through the use of "net use" command.

Although the command does work (through the command prompt only), and I can use the command "ChDir", and the designation holds as long as I'm in the command prompt window, when I run the database it is defaulting to "C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents" folder on the local machine.
Can someone take a look and see what the code is missing. The original post ... Read more

Hello All,

I have the following formula in Excel 2003, as i'm aware that I can't use the countifs formula like I can in Office 2010 (at home)

This then counts the number of times blue appears in one column but only includes the cells in the count that are blank in the second column. Is it possible to add a third column for example (H2:H42) so that it then will also only include cells that have a value (i.e. not blank cells?)

Basically I want to count the number of rows that match 3 criteria and present it as a number.

If I have managed to confuse you please do ask me for more (or less info), Thanks in advance

Hey all, new to the forums and in pretty serious need of some help. I bought an IBUYPOWER prebuilt gaming rig last... April I think, and its been working great for me. Recently however ( the last month or so), the sound keeps going out. It went out for about a week before randomly coming back (nothing I did), and now its been gone for about 2-3 weeks. The sound icon down by the clock shows a red x and says that no speakers are plugged in. I've tried a bunch of things to try and get my audio back on, but no luck. I'm not sure what I would need to provide here for anybody to help me, or what I SHOULDNT post for security reasons, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some important notes
*I have Windows 7
*I have two jacks for my speakers, one in the back where you would typically expect to find one, but also an additional one in the front panel. Neither one apparently works, leading me to believe its a driver issue.
*Gosh idk what else to put down! any help would be greatly appreciated, I used to think I was capable with computers but this seems to be beyond me

Does anyone out there know if the iBuypower computers or other computer out there on like Tigerdirect or the ZT brands from Costo are any good? I've never heard of them but keep seeing them popping up everywhere....

I've only ever had a Dell, HP or Gateway machine.

A:iBuypower and other non-namebrand computers

They're most often made from quite much better quality parts than Dell, etc as they don't get exclusively extra cheap motherboards and other parts like the big brand companies. They do sometimes use lower quality power supplies though, quite a feat considering what the factory built boxes have. I wouldn't recommend getting any of them without modifying it yourself and selecting a quality power supply for it, or replacing it yourself to save a few dozen dollars, as well as getting a longer warranty for the PSU.

What seems to be wrong us that the UEFI can't seem to detect the harddrives when determining boot order? That's my best guess. I really have no idea. If I load Bootable media, such as my installation drive, it detects it just fine and all my components are fine and I'm able to format and install as I please.
However, I'm unable to access the UEFI configuration, as the pc just stops.
Twice in the past few days it's been able to work itself out and boot as normal, so I know it's not a harddrive issue, but it's extremely rare.
I formatted and installed a fresh windows on a secondary drive to see if that would help to both avail.

I'm going to upgrade (read: replace) my ancient machine soon.

I've come across a really good (i.e., very cheap!) deal for a Sempron 64 3000+, motherboard, 512 Ram & X1300 Pro video. Yeah I know, not exactly cutting edge! But it'll do fine with the workload it's given.

Anyway, I need a case for it, of course. What sort of power would this very basic machine need (with a DVD burner and two hard drives).. 400, 450 or 500w? Or less, even?

1.75 gigs of RAM 1 gig(2x512)+512mb(1x512)+256MB (4 slots total)
320 gig hard drive
X-fi extreme gamer sound card
480 watt power supply

Is that enough power for that card on my system. I know that PCI-E 2.0 works on regular PCI-E so i dont need to worry about that, and i don't have a 6pin power connector for PCI-e but the card comes with a 6pin adapter for cables my power supply does have so that's good, but do i need more power or am i good, or just barely making it. I dont want to fry another card because i didn't have enough power.

A:8800GT, how much power needed?

I'm not familiar with Dell products, but just offhand, if your graphics card is in the $50 to $75 range, I think it should handle your power supply. I have a 550-watt Ultra power supply, a lower mid-range ASUS motherboard for $90, and a PNY 8000 Nvidia graphics card and everything's fine.

Hi guys, new here...I'm setting up a new pc, sooo a few questions here.
I'm planning on getting an Asus A88XM-plus motheboard, Amd X4 860K cpu and Sapphire R9 280 3GB video card...so how much power supply would be enough...450-500W?..would 650 be an overkill? Is all of this fully compatible?
Do I need a sound card, modem or special cooling or something? ( I already have 2*8gb Ram sticks and HDD, don't really need DVD drive).
I'm also thinking in between Antec 902 V3 case and a lot cheaper LC Power Gaming 975b Air wing Midi...how much quality difference is there in between these two?
Also, how much improvement is there in between this card and my current one, sapphire r7 265 2gb?
Are there anything that you would exchange for something else...I'm on a tight budget, but I don't mind spending a few extra bucks if it be worth in the long run.
Thanks in advance.
