I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, Community! I'm about to do a clean install of Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit on a T530 (BIOS v2.68) with an SSD. My issue is I'm new to UEFI and have never done an install with UEFI. I suspect that my apporpriate install BIOS Setup should be:UEFI/Legacy Boot: UEFI OnlyCSM Support: YesDoes the T530 support a UEFI boot interface similar to pressing F1 and getting into BIOS? Then after I install Windows 7 then install all the T530 HW drivers, I should set the BIOS settings to:UEFI/Legacy Boot: BothUEFI/Legacy Boot Priority: UEFI FirstCSM Support: Yes Does my above configuration plan make sense? I have two requirements once Win7 is installed - first, I must be able to boot from an external USB when needed. Second I must be able to boot into either BIOS or some UEFI graphical interface (I see on this forum that when some people set UEFI they lose that ability).. Will my above plan achieve this for me? Thank you!

A:Clean Install of Windows 7 Pro on a Lenovo T530 with an SSD - UEFI Issue?

Hello and welcome,

I've moved your post to the T-series forum.

A couple of quick thoughts.  Others will probably have more suggest.

Boot your installer via the USB 2.0 ports.  Clean '7 won't have USB 3.0 drivers and the installer will fall over.

If booting the installer from a flash drive you'll have to modify the it for UEFI booting. Don't know about a DVD.

F12 will get you the boot menu and on current UEFI machines there will be a tab for BIOS access.  Not sure about the 530.
Depending on what you're going to be booting via USB in the future UEFI-only may be fine.  Doesn't really matter if you leave at "both" but occasionally something will boot in the "other" mode and produce unexpected results.  I'm inclined to leave it at whatever the OS install mode is and toggle as necessary - but whatever floats your boat.

LSC version 2.8.007 will update to 3.3.002.LSC version 3.2.004 will update to 3.3.002. 3.3.002 is Hardware scan only and shows warranty info and other items. This version will not launch under companion at this time.Lenovo is upgrading all users of both versions to the 3.3.002 version. Previously the 3.xx.xx version was win10 only.==If you had 2.8.007 installed, LSC did not do updates!. It launched System Update. Go to your support page and download System Update, if it is not installed.  System Update is probably installed on your system, but you have no entry on the start menu. SU is found here: c\programfiles(x86)\Lenovo\systemupdate\TVsu.exe .==For win 10 users, you can also run the SU offering via Companion. 3.3.002 will not launch under Companion 3.44.0.0 (at this time. covered in another post in the apps section).  3.2.004 will launch.

Hi -- I'm posting this to save you some time.  After the last Windows 10 update, I lost bluetooth on both a T530 and T430, with the standared Broadcom daughter bluetooth card.  I followed all the instructions on various forums and youtube videos and nothing worked.  (ie: I went into device manager, showed hidden devices, and deleted them; I tried to reinstall the latest bluetooth drivers from Lenovo, etc, etc,)  Nothing worked - and could no longer find or install bluetooth at all on the machines. Finally, I found the solution:  Download this file from intel:  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28009?v=t If the link doesn't work, the name of the file is BT_20.70.0_64_Win10.exe  (That's the 64 bit version, there's also a 32 bit version.) Run the file as administrator, wait for it to load for a few minutes, and then restart the computer.  After the restart, bluetooth will reappear in the device manager, with all the correct thinkpad broadcom drivers, and all the devices you've attached to the machine. I hope this is helpful.  It worked for me on two machines.

Hello, I have a new T530 with Windows 8 OS. I am having trouble using the integrated camera. It functions neither in the Windows camera app nor in Skype. In both cases I get a picture with a gray background and a camera with a line through it. In Device manager, the camera does appear, is enabled, and the drivers are up to date. After looking through other threads, I tried checking whether the camera was plugged in and indeed it was. When using Skype and I set the camera to on (Skype did detect the camera), I still got the gray no camera image, but the green light on the camera itself turned on.I also tried using Fn+F6 to check settings. Lenovo settings opens, but the when I click the camera settings Icon, the screen loads a blank page that says "Camera" in the top right and has a back button (left pointing arrow) in the top left hand corner. The back button does not seem to work and I must change the window to something else in order to exit/close settings.I tried manually installing both camera drivers and "power management" ("energy management"?) drivers. Neither of this solved either of these issues. Please help me to resolve this problem. Thank you.

Hi, euterpenc

I would make sure that the BIOS is up to date in the system. The current BIOS for your system is 2.07 and can be found here. Also, I would ensure that the chipset drivers are up to date, and those can be found here.

Hope it helps, and let me know how it goes

Hello I had this same issue on my brand new yoga 700, I resolved by doing installing a driver but it was tricky. this is my download page yours maybe different.  http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-700-14isk?TabName=Dow... Once you are on your product page follow these instructions.download the display driver. I had the VGA Driver.download an install your VGA driver. you can click the box that says install, but most likley it will fail. that is okay go to step 3type in device manager in the ask me anything in windows 10. click the device manager.double click display drivers and then right click your driver should say 520 if  the same as mine and chose update driversClick browse my computer for driver software, then click "let me browser from a list of drivers on my computer"then chose the dirver 10.18.15.4248 (it is an older dirver but it is more stable at the moment.)highlight it click next and install it.restart your computer and run the scan again.. you should no longer recieve the error.Keep checking back for a new driver or more stable one. these machines just came out so they need some tweeking.also make sure you always do windows updates to keep your computer in check. Also run lenovo companion, and that will scan and instll latest updates, i would not install the latest graphics driver because that is the one we rolled back. wait for a new one. you may email me for further questions at snoop_rogg... Hello, For the last couple weeks my T530 has been nagging me to do a "critical system update" from Lenovo. Today I caved and ran the update. Turns out it was a bios update. After the update it said "Bios update successful" and then my screen went black. My laptop won't boot at all now the screen just stays black, no pre/post screen or anything.  I don't have access to another computer here so I can't make a recovery disk for a week or so. Any ideas on what I can do to try and resurrect this beast?  Ive tried many hard power offs to no avail.

I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 using an unattend.xml I created.  I even added the feature not to delete PnP devices and so forth.  The problem is, even on the images I did for T520's the Ricoh card reader never installs when I apply the image. Even if I try to download the driver from the website and load it, "Windows can't load driver".  The only way I got it to work on the T520's was by manually selecting HID device and browsing to the driver.  Now on the T530 I can't get that to work and even if I select SD Host Adapters same thing. Any ideas?  I'm about to say screw it and just disable it since not many of our users actually use it.

My mom has a T530 that just had the hard drive fail.  So it seems.  The hard drive is a 320GB Toshiba MQ01ABF032.  When trying to boot, it goes to the splash screen, then black screen and hangs.  I connected the drive to a USB cable and could see the contents of the drive so I bought a Samsung EVO 500GB SSD and figured I'd clone it.  About half through cloning, it crashes, apparently can't read a sector.  I figured I can clone the recovery partition and copy whatever I can later.  I didn't try to repair the disk because I was afraid of losing the data before copying important files. I cloned the recovery partition only but not the windows partition, as I can't.  I tried to boot off the new drive but it wouldn't.  Forgive me if I'm naive, but to boot and reinstall,  I suppose I'll need a windows partition too? If that's the case, can I clone the recovery partition from this computer along with the windows partition from my T430? Can anyone give me the steps to get this new drive running?  Thanks.

I have a Lenovo T530 and am using Windows 10 and recently had to replace the keyboard because a few buttons were just plain gone (don't ask). I'm not sure if it's the Lenovo, the keyboard or Windows 10 that are causing these problems, but I am beginning to think it's Windows 10. I apologize in advance for the long post. Despite the keyboard being new and installed and working very well (as is obvious from the fact that I'm typing on it right now), the backlight is not working, even on startup. I made sure when I purchased the keyboard that the backlight was included and there's even that little symbol on the spacebar indicating that it should. While this is not the end of the world, the volume buttons have completely stopped working. I can control the volume on the computer through the keyboard's volume buttons after startup for about a minute, but as soon as I click a single program or open an application or something I can no longer control the volume through the volume buttons. I can still use most of the other hotkey buttons (barring Fn+F5 and Fn+F6, but I never used those even when they did work). I have tried updating a few drivers and uninstalling and reinstalling drivers in multiple times in multiple ways and checking things in BIOS and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions other than a system restore or something along those lines since I had a similar audio problem on my last keyboard with the audio and it went away with a new windows update. "network controller" driver not found did the auto search nothing, tried everything on the lenovo site under

Networking Wireless Wan

I can conntect via the ethernet jack but do not even see an option in network sharing center to disable or enable anything but the wired connection, nothing showing for wifi if i go to change adaptor settings.

The thing I can't figure out too though is I am grabbing the win7 64 drivers for these basic things at lenovos site and installing them yet after reboot still nothing.

I see a side switch on left for wifi have it turned on, i see a FN F5 key combo that is also supposed to turn on wifi iv'e tried that too, I just can't even figure out why in device manager it just says no drivers found code 28 I keep thinking this has to be something simple but I've spent about 4 hrs on it rebooting installing uninstalling various things and sure can't figure it out.

ANY suggestions appreciated at this point, calling defeat for tonight, will see what anyone else suggests and try that tomorrow possibly.

Hi Long time ago I have bought new SSD (2,5"), installed it inside the laptop, and placed original HDD in Ultrabay. I have managed to use the Lenovo recovery partition (this one with over 10GB size that contains image of the whole system, and all drivers). I have installed windows 8.0 from factory image stored on lenovo recovery drive on new SSD Then I was unable to boot newly installed system, because Boot Configuration Menu still rerouted the starting procedure to no-longer existing system that used to be installed on original HDD. I have managed to set up the boot sequence with Visual BCD Editor in a way that it booted from the newly installed SSD in a right way. But it created hell of a mess in the boot sequence. Now I would like to make a clear install of Windows, I am able to acesss recovery menu (F11) but when choosing the optionion of resetting the system - it does not detects the location of the recovery partition. I would like to stay with the configuration in which SSD is placed in internal 2,5", and original HDD is placed in ultrabay, since only internal bay have speed transfer suitable for having benefits of using SSD. What should I do to gain access to Lenovo recovery partition that contains factory created image of the system and drivers? In drive manager I see that it exists. I add print screens showing mess in BCD Please help.

I would try resetting the BIOS using the jumper, or by taking out the CMOS battery, wait a minute or two, and then replace it and try booting up. See page 73 of the Hardware Maintenance Manaul linked below for location of the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper (# 20) https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkcentre_pdf/m83m93p_hmm.pdf Clearing the CMOS (BIOS)1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer. 2. Remove the computer cover. 3. Locate the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper on the system board. 4. Move the jumper from the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2) to the maintenance position (pin 2 and pin 3). 5. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. 6. Turn on the computer and leave it on for approximately 10 seconds. Then, turn off the computer by holding the power switch for approximately five seconds. 7. Repeat step 1 through step 2. 8. Move the Clear CMOS /Recovery jumper back to the standard position (pin 1 and pin 2). 9. Reinstall the computer cover and connect the power cord. Good Luck,

Hi. I've got a T530, Type 2359-CTO, S/N xxxxx 12/07, currently running an Intel Core i5-3210M CPU at 2.50GHz. I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64bit.

I run a lot of computationally-intensive statistical analyses (I'm a biology grad student) that are CPU-limited in terms of their speed. Some of these runs can take days or even weeks to complete, so it would be worth it to me to upgrade my CPU to something as fast as possible. Even a 10% performance boost for CPU-limited tasks would be a pretty big deal to me.

What I'm looking to find out is, what is the absolute fastest CPU that I can install in this thing? Also, are any of the available processors likely to give me a significant performance boost in terms of CPU-limited computation? I really like this laptop in general and don't want to get another one if I can meaningfully upgrade the one I've already got. By the way none of the analysis programs I run are multi-threaded, but I do often run more than one analysis at a time so I benefit from extra cores that way.

I'm not concerned about power consumption or heat production ? one of the things I love about the T530 is how robust and effective its cooling is, and I've got the 90W power adapter which of course is connected when I'm chewing on big datasets, but would be willing to upgrade to a beefier power brick if necessary.

This seems like it ought to be a fairly simple question but after a search of several forums including this one I find I'm none the... Read more

A:What is the fastest CPU I can install in my T530?

I am not trying to convince you not to upgrade the CPU, but I want to state a couple of things first. Even for CPU-intensive tasks, more memory is often a bigger help than faster clock speed. Your CPU uses 35w. An i7-3820qm uses 45w, so it will quite a bit hotter, but it is a CPU that is commonly. If money is no object, I have been told that the i7-3920XM processor will also work. I know it has been used in a w530, but I don't know if it is being used in a T530. The W530 has a little larger fan, which is good because the i7-3920 uses 55W and will help heat your house.  The CPU is not considered customer-replaceable, so it may affect your warranty

I have a problem with my ThinkPad T530 model 2429NL6, on which Win 10 is running.I purchased a data SIM card and inserted it into the SIM card slot, but I can't connect to the data network.I can't understand if the modem is missing, if the modem is present but the driver is missing, or if it's a problem installing the network in Win 10.How can I move around?(I ask for a simple language in the answer, as I am an inexperienced user)Thanks
