Preferred Solution: Installing JAVA on my coumputer

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

"No JVM could be found on your system."
Hello,

I am a beginner. My operating system is Windows 7 and I use Firefox and Google Chrome for browsers. I have three problems:

1. Despite following the instructions in the Control Panel
I am unable to uninstall Java from my computer.

2. I am unable to download Java. Every time I tried, I keep getting a message which says, " Installation has failed."

3. I also keep getting this message, " No JVM could be found on your system. Please define EXE4_JAVA_Home to point to an installed 32-bit JDK or download a JRE from www.java.com

Can someone please tell me how to solve these issues.
Thank you,

I hope this is the right place to post this. I need to push an update through for java to my compony's mobile users. They all use an air card and connect to the network via VPN. I can not figure out how to push this update through. I thought it would as easy as VPNing in and doing a gpupdate/force from the cmd but of course that did not work. Any ideas on how I can get this down and with as little user interaction as possible. All the laptops use XP and I'm using A/D on server 03 to push the updates. Using the M/S VPN

Thanks

A:problem installing java

If Java is installed and shows up in Programs and features, then uninstall it. Download the latest 6u18, (Windows), agree to the terms, and choose the offline installation. Save it, close your browser/s, and see if it will install.

If you want both 32 and 64 bit java, then download both the one under (Windows) and the one under (Windowsx64)

You really only need the 32 bit one if you use just 32 bit browsers, but if you use both 32 and 64 bit browsers, you can install both. Just install the 64 bit one first, then the 32 bit one, or re install the 32 bit one over the 64 bit one if both are already installed, because of a specific known issue with both Javas installed.

Despite what the installation wizard tells me I'm fairly certain Java isn't installed correctly in my computer
this is my third attempt and the problems seems to be the same.
I've been running the offline installer of java 7 update 17 on a windows 7 computer (32-bit)

C:\Program Files\Java\jre7
-there is no /bin folder
-there is no /lib folder
it appears the entirety of the files in core.zip remain unpacked.
manually unpacking these folders from core.zip has not yielded results in the past
-patchjre.exe is 0kb and attempts to run it display the message
-- "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7.exe is not a valid Win32 application."

Control panel
-there is no java icon
I suspect this has to do with the fact that the aforementioned /bin folder where the javacpl file is should be is missing.

-fails the test on http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp?detect=jre

I can install the latest Java 8, but whenever I start installing Java 7(with or without a prior java installed, completely erased) the installation software stops at 0% and since they developed the installer so cleverly there is no cancel button so I have to stop it with task manager. And whenever I have done so and in task manager it doesn't say there isn't any other installations in progress, so when I start up the installer again it tells me something is already being installed.. And so I have to restart my PC every-time I need to retry the installation.

I've used JavaRa to clean the older java files whenever I try again. And Jportable doesn't fix it for me.

I tried a bunch of different versions of Java 7, both x86 and x64. And both Java 7 U71 and U72.. Same result on all, I did everything they said on the internet. Firewall is down, no antivirus running, starting windows without start-up items.

This is infuriating because I can't play this game, its pretty popular, but build on a stupid language; Minecraft...

I have IE ver 6 and also FX 2.0.0.2 and I am receiving error messages when I install the latest Java ver 11
When I ran the downloaded Java (latest ver) I received the following error message: "Unable to download http://java.sun.com/update/1.5.0/1.5.0.11-b03.xml for installation. We recommend you verify that the package exists."

Please advise of a solution to getting my Java updated. The reason I'm updating is because I'm unable to access certain java features on websites.

I even tried uninstalling all versions of Java then installing ver 11. Is it advisable to uninstall all versions of Java before updating? It didn't work when I did. I've tried both IE and FX to download and Java wouldn't install properly.

Is ver 11 a complete package of Java and not a update that requires 1.5.0 (baseline)?

When I double click on the Java icon inside the Control panel, nothing happens.

Orginally I had Java 1.5.0, then an update 1.5.0 ver. 6 was made.

Thanks for you help. --Words

How can I fix this problem. The automatic java update was constatnly popping up asking me to update and then it never when through. I kept getting that error. Now when i try the offline bundle it just says there was an error transfering something. Please help! Also, my computer is 2 years old and has become slow. What can I do to speed it up and clean it out of all the junk i dont need?

Hi,

I have 2 problems that might be related ? Java not installing & errors with SFC & DISM.

I have windows 10/64 Pro. Java 8.0.40 was installed. When I got the out of date message I uninstalled it from control panel however the current version jre-8u73 32 bit or 64 bit will not install. Nothing happens when double clicking the offline installation. No errors. I am administrator of the PC. The online installation also does not run. Nothing happens on the verify option since uninstalling the earlier version. Usually a pop-up would confirm Java is not installed. I?ve downloaded it multiple times and the download file does not seem corrupt. In my C:\Users\jeffr\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java there are folders of earlier versions. Some of these folders are empty. There is also C:\Users\jeffr\AppData\LocalLow\Oracle\Java folder which is empty. I noticed JRERunOnce.exe in C:\Users\jeffr\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java and that runs and installs V1.7.0.65. I think upgrading Java 8.0.40 to more recent version has only been a problem since accepting the auto-update from Win 8.1 to Win V10. I have also read in another post that someone overcame the unable to install java run time problem by installing the full java development kit and then uninstalling the development components however that also would not run on my PC.

There is no $windows.~bt file not on my c: drive. Im not sure if it cleaned itself up after the grace upgrade period. November 2015 update wa... Read more

I got a message on my laptop saying that I needed to update Java. So I did, but it said I already have the newest version of Java updated. Then I go to Java to see if I have the newest version of Java updated, but it says Java is unavailable due to it being uninstalled or unavailable. If I go onto the official Java page and download + install Java even though I already have the updated version of Java (or at least that's what my computer says), can any problems occur from this?

A:Can installing Java twice cause any problems on your computer?

If you download and install java again it will most likely tell you "you already have the most current version of java" and then close. You can click download and install again it should do no harm.

You might need to restart your computer to get this message to go away: "Then I go to Java to see if I have the newest version of Java updated, but it says Java is unavailable due to it being uninstalled or unavailable."

Hello,

I am using an HP envy m4, 15" laptop running Windows 8.

I installed "Advanced Uninstaller PRO" which told me that I had, in addition to Java 7 update 40, a copy of Java 7 update 9. So I uninstalled update 9, thinking that would leave me with a clean copy of update 40. However, when I looked at my control panels list after the uninstallation, there was no update 40 and no Java control panel!

I began a cycle of downloading, installing, and testing for Java--and finding no plug-in installed. I was using the 32-bit version of Java 7 update 40. Each time I received a message saying "This software has already been installed on your computer. Would you like to reinstall it?" I clicked YES, and I got this error message: "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed." I tried this about 10 times on Google Chrome (latest version), and I tried it on Internet Explorer and on Firefox, but I kept coming up with no control panel and no plug-in installed when I tested it.

I then downloaded, installed, and ran "JavaRa" (2.3) which told me that I had successfully removed 14 items. I tried re-installing the 32-bit version of Java, unsuccessfully.

Then I downloaded and installed the 64-bit ver... Read more
