Intel 82562V-2 network card - Windows 7 - Sleep issue

Q: Intel 82562V-2 network card - Windows 7 - Sleep issue

I discovered this forum recently and it seems to be a good place to seek advice. So here is my problem:

I installed Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron 530.

After a reboot everything works fine until I put the computer to sleep.

After resuming from sleep the cpu usage is extremely high even when the computer should be idle. Task Manager shows that the System (PID 4) process is using some cpu. Resource Monitor shows that a lot of time is spent in System Interrupts - Deferred Procedure Calls and Interrupt Service Routines.

My conclusions at this time is that the integrated network card (Intel 82562V-2) does not properly resume from sleep and creates a lot of system interrupts. Note that disabling the network card makes the problem go away right away, and the problem comes back right away after re-enabling it.

Tried upgrading BIOS of computer and driver of network card but that did not help.

Any suggestions? Somebody else tried Windows 7 on a Inspiron 530?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Intel 82562V-2 10/100 Network Card.
It's a dual boot and when I boot into Ubuntu, the networking works fine.
Boot to the XP pro side and nothing.  I can enable/disable the card but when I check status is shows that it's connected and the time its been connected but it shows not packets in or out.
Any ideas of things I could do/try.

A:No network connectivity - WinXP Pro SP3 ; Dell Inspirion 530S; Intel 82562V-2

Just a thought but have you tried something as simple as connect automatically in the internet options settings?(internet options,
connections,LAN,Automatically detect settings)
I know its a simple thing but its easy to overlook,my xp will do this occasionally after using my dual booting Lubuntu,no idea why.
I asked a programer why a clean system would do this and he said even
a small electrical surge could cause a setting change,so who knows.
If that doesnt work it might be time to repair the internet, reset the win sock etc..hopefully you dont have a viral issue messing with your settings.

A:Intel(r) 82562v-210/100

Thats a Ethernet LAN card - you should also see in device manager a device with 802.11 maybe broadcom on dell

Have a look in device manager under network adapters

{Device Manager}
Post back the results in device manager
Start > control Panel {Vista set to classic view}> system > {Vista, device manager on left hand side} {XP hardware Tab, device manager button} > network adaptors, click on the + > post back the devices listed there

Intel doesn't support this adapter anymore, upon boot I've got to fix the problems as admin before I can get on to my network. Has anyone got the right drivers for windows 8 CPE 64 bit?

A:Intel 82562v ethernet adapter driver

See if this helps at all - Find the subkey for it at this location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

Change the REG_DWORD for Start to 3 if it is not already. Reboot and test.

If you don't know its service name, right click it in Device Manager. Properties. Details tab. Change the dropdown to say Service. Look at the results.

I am trying to do some tech support for family and I am stumped. They had a Dell 530 with an Intel 82562V-2 and it will no longer connect to the internet.

ipconfig /all returns

Host Name. . . . . . . . . . . :wayne-PC
Primary DNS Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . :Hybrid
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . :No
WINS Proxy Enabled . . . . . . :No

That's it. Windows gives errors two errors:

1)The Network adapter is experiencing driver or hardware issues

2)Make sure your Internet Protocol Bindings are Correct

I have installed the latest Intel drives and the TCP IP settings are checked for both V4 and V6. I have even went as far to install a new Dynex Ethernet card which gets the same errors.

I have even tried the netsh reset ip command. I have no Idea what to do next. I have searched goggle and found some similar problems with the same model Dell and card but they were fixed by reboot.

Is this a BIOS problem? If so what do I need to do to fix it?

Hello, when Seven (x64) boots on my Dell Vostro 200, sometimes (1 out of 5?) the network shows as "limited connectivity".
The NIC is up, and the router led shows activity on the Vostro port, but I can't even ping the router. ssh'd into the router, and tcpdump showed no traffic.
It is not a DHCP problem, since my IP is fixed (and the network properties does show my fixed configuration at this point).
Then I go to "Network Connections", disable and enable the "Local Area Connection", and it starts working.
Same PC boots Vista (x86) and Linux Debian kernel 2.6.24 (x86), and the NIC works always right on both. Very intriguing is that I get the exact same problem if I update the Linux kernel from 2.6.24 to 2.6.26 or 2.6.28 (that's why I'm stuck with 2.6.24). Others have reported the same case with Linux for the Vostro 200: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11998
Could it be that the same change introduced (by intel?) from kernel 2.6.24 to 2.6.25 was introduced from Vista to Seven (x64), and is causing the same glitch on this ethernet hardware?
Is someone else trying Seven x64 on the Vostro 200 with this NIC? I know that I'm not alone with the Linux problem. Am I with the Seven problem?

hi guys I've been a long time reader here at techspot and I've got to say i love the website. Now for the most part i consider myself pretty familiar with computers and i can handle just about anything as far as computer problems go. However this one has me stumped, so i figured i could turn to the most knowledgeable computer gurus around. So my problem is Windows seems to be dedicating a little over 2 gigs of ram for my wireless card. Now this is odd because I've never heard of a wireless card needing memory dedicated for it let alone 2 gigs worth. i can tell it is using it for the wifi card because whenever i have it hooked up to the computer, windows tells me i only have 1.99 gigs of ram available. I also know the card works because I've hooked it up to my brother's rig and he has windows vista 64-bit and it works fine with no memory being dedicated for it. I also notice when the card is connected my computer seems to hang doing just about anything even something as simple as just moving the mouse. So any help with this would be much appreciated as it has me baffled so far. I'll List a few specs below and i can always provide more if necessary.

I've already tried updating to the latest drivers and that hasn't helped at all. I also had this problem with a linksys wmp600n adapter as well.

I have a problem with my display adapter Intel driver version It is causing a problem of vertical lines on the screen when waking up from sleep, the only option is to reboot the machine.
I previously solved this problem by rolling back to the driver in the device manager to the previous version This fixed the issue until a recent update on 8th November when my driver was updated again.
Now when I enter the device manager the option to Roll Back Driver option is greyed out.
I've tried searching for a download of the old driver but can't find one.
Can anyone help with this problem?
And then once I've fixed it is there a way to stop the driver updating itself again?

A:Inspiron 3650 back from sleep issue - vertical lines on screen - rollback Intel driver problem

Assuming you are running Windows 10? With Windows 10, it is possible to stop it from auto updating drivers. Read this. You should download and save the Intel driver to its own folder on the C: drive in case you need to reinstall it again.I do not use sleep or hibernate modes on any of my computers (laptops or desktops). The only powersave option I use is the setting to turn the monitor off after 5 minutes. At the end of the work day, I save my data and close all running applications. I then turn the computers off.

It was working fine under Win7 but under Win8.1 it doesn't want to play ball!

This is how it looks under Win 7, full settings.

Under Win 8. only these basic settings. (lib picture)

Tried to install this
but I get a message saying no intel adapters present on this computer!

I have tried different drivers but nothing seems to work, any ideas anyone?

I recently have been having issues with my video cutting out on my during videogames. My monitors would go into sleep mode randomly. Sometimes it happens right away once I enter a match, and sometimes I can go for hours and have it not happen. This happened with my on a BFG GTX 280 oc and I thought it was the videocard. Having replaced it with a more expensive EVGA gtx 570 that I payed around 350$ for I thought the issue would be resolved. I was wrong. I usually play video games like World of warcraft, League of legends, and bloodline champions, and it always seems to happen more quickly if I am playing in fullscreen, compared to a window such as 1240X1040. Even more so I have left world of warcraft open, but minimized in the background while I browse the internet, and my video will cut out on me.

It is EXTREMLY frustrating. I have contacted the game manufacturers and I can find no one else that has this issue.

It would be wonderful if I could get this solved. I have posted on other forums but no one ever has an answer.

My wife has HP G60-230US laptop running vista home premium. She has an issue in that after the laptop has been asleep reconnecting to our home wifi doesn't work right. It seems that the wifi connection does re-establish, I can open CMD and ping addresses out on the internet, and other applications such as Skype reconnect, however browsers (both IE and Chrome) will not display websites reporting network unavailable. Clicking on IE's 'diagnose problem' button reports no problems, which is not surprising since there is a TCP/IP connection. Sometimes closing all instances of browsers will clear the problem but sometimes not and a reboot seems the only way to resolve the issue which is far from ideal. Note that other (non-Windows) laptops work perfectly on the home wireless network and my wife has had the same issue at other wifi locations.

Seems that there is something sitting on top of TCP/IP specific to http (Wininet?) is getting confused? Has anyone got any idea what is going on or how to get to the bottom of the problem?

Hello, hopefully someone can offer some assistance on an issue I'm having with getting windows 8.1 to sleep.

I have narrowed my sleep issues down to the network adapter (Intel(R) 82566DC Gigabit Network Connection) as whenever I disable the device in device manager the PC sleeps, whenever it's enabled it doesn't.

Now I've got that far I haven't any idea what the network adapter is doing to keep the system awake. Powercfg -requests shows nothing, and power management is set to allow windows to turn off the adapter to save power. I'm really not sure what its doing to prevent sleep, media streaming is off (even so, allow computer to sleep while sharing media is enabled), I'm not in a homegroup and IPV6 is disabled.

Does anyone have any other ideas I could try?

Thank you for any assistance.

Problem : connection drops in speeed all the time

I have updated to the latest driver for my 2200BG adapter and the latest firmware for my netgear dg834g router but i still suffer drops in connection. This happens when I am playing online games such as FEAR. I will go into a game and for about 2 minutes the ping will be stable at 35-60 (occasionally jumping to 200) but after about 2-3 minutes the ping starts to rocket to 400, then to 800 then into the 1000's region and i suffer from major packet loss. The intel software says my connection is "very good" and power management is set to maximum and i dont have any radio interferences around my laptop (apart from radio in next room which is usually off). Ive tried various "fixes" like changing to g only and changing the channel etc. on various forums but it just doesnt work.

yes i have seen the other thread, but its 51 pages and most of it isnt relevant to me!! Please help me.. im just a poor man trying to get by and this is how i get treated

A:intel pro wireless 2200BG network card HELP

Do you get the same problems with a wired connection? May be an issue with your router and not the wifi adapter.. A good trick is to open a command prompt and start pinging your router from there (a la "ping -t"). Play the game until the game ping skyrockets. See if the router ping times went up too.

Try disabling/uninstalling any software firewalls you have.

I want to change my Atheros wi-fi network card with this  Intel AC 7260. Somebody can tell my if i need to upgrade my BIOS for my model to install this card?

A:Wireless Intel AC 7260 network card

We need the full model number but updating the BIOS will not enable the use of any additional wireless cards. HP did in the past use a whitelist which dictates that you can only use certain specific models and the relevant question is whether your laptop is pre- or post- whitelist. Generally the cutoff is around January 1, 2014 as the build date.

Hello all,
I am having an issue with my wireless internet connection. It has worked well for 5 years, but a few days ago I suddenly lost connectivity. Checked the wireless switch on my Dell 1737 laptop, good. Replaced my Intel 5100 wireless card with a new one. It is not recognized by Device Manager, but the driver shows up under Control Panel, Programs. Tried just about everything. Do you think I am looking at an out of box hardware failure? I have checked and rechecked the seating and coaxial connectors to the new board. This one has me stumped. Any suggestions? Kind regards.

Good day to all!

I have this problem about my onboard network drive. It is functioning last Tuesday, but now, it is not functioning. My modem indicates that it is connected to the internet but the icon tray indicator shows otherwise. My aunt that stays in the house said that there is a power shutdown that day because of the storm, and I left my PC on because I am downloading something. I tried to check Device Manager for the Network Adapter to confirm if it is only a driver problem but suprisingly, there is no Network Adapter installed. I also tried to install the Realtek driver (I am sure that my onboard network adapter is Realtek), but unfortunately, an error says "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If deep sleep mode is enabled, please plug the cable.". What will I do to disable that Deep Sleep Mode?

P.S. I borrowed a network card from a friend of mine and tried if it will work. it turns out that it is working so my assumption is that network part of my motherboard is the faulty one.

Thanks to all who will help.

I have recently purchased a new system, and since the first time I booted it up the on board gigabit network card is unable to start. I get the following error when in device manager:

Device cannot start (code 10)
In order for the device to work, whilst in device manager, I must uninstall the driver and then scan for hardware changes. Doing this re-installs the driver and the network card will connect to the network. All is fine.

I'm running an Asus P8Z77-V with a Intel Core i7 3770K and a Corsair 16GB DDR3 Vengeance. The on board network card is an Intel 82579LM.

I have already updated the BIOS to the latest version, and I have tried installing the latest drivers from ASUS and Intel directly with no luck. Interestingly I only will get this error on a cold boot, if I sleep or restart the computer I do not get this issue, and the network card connects automatically, which is why I'm thinking its probably a software/driver issue...

Just wondering if anyone else has any further ideas to try and debug this?

A:Intel 825879LM Gigabit Network Card - Cannot start (Code 10)

update the network driver.
First, download the network card driver from manufactuer's website, Intel Download Center
Then reinstall the driver:
Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Menu Search box and press Enter.
Double click to expand "Network adaptors".
Right click your network card and click Uninstall.
Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box, click OK.
Restart the computer
If windows does not auto configure the appropriate drivers at startup, install the downloaded one manually.
If it does not work, Go for a System Restore.

Let us know the results.

Hello everyone,
I have a HP ENVY 15, 3040nr with switchable graphics (product specifics available at this link).

Switching between AMD and INTEL always happened with no problems, when you switch off the notebook it will switch back on with the last selected configuration.

Basically, few weeks (I suspect problem started after a Windows update, but after evolution of dynamics I'm not so sure) I started experiencing random BSOD at startup or when waking up the system from sleep (not hybernation), it expecially looked like that the BSOD was guaranteed when system was sent to sleep when Intel graphics were selected.
BSOD would happen, and system would restart with AMD graphics turned on by default.

I tried downloading updated drivers from HP for the Intel from Win Update (non existing) but problem kept showing up. I then formatted and reinstalled everything from scratch. This time I installed only the original drivers coming with the original hardware (you can find them on HP website), but the problem kept showing up.

So i formatted again and this time installed Catalyst_14.2_Beta_v1.3_UnifL, which are ad-hoc designed driver, making up for HP lack of updated drivers for this kind of device. Previous versions of this driver worked wonderfully for whole last year. They worked fine for a few days but... Read more

I am running a HP P6228p desktop Win7 64bit Home Premium with all MS and HP updates applied. I installed a 2-port Sabrent PCI USB3 card, installed the driver for it from the web (Win7 failed to find an appropriate driver on its own) and moved my Iomega USB2 external HD from a USB2 port where if functioned perfectly to one of the new USB3 ports. When I boot - no problems - but every time my PC awakes from sleep mode an autoplay window pops up asking me if I want to open the folder on the Iomega drive to view the contents. How can I stop this behavior on the USB3 port without screwing up autoplay/autorun for other things? In other words, how can I set the Iomega to not go into autoplay (when coming out of sleep mode) when on the USB3 port? btw - the only data on the Iomega drive are the data created by MS Backup.

1/21 - Oh c'mon guys. I know that one of you really Windows-smart people knows the answer. Help!

A:USB3 card - USB2 Iomega HD - autoplay issue from sleep mode

Sabrent support admitted that when Windows has the PC in Sleep Mode, the ASMedia chip on the card does not trickle enough current to keep the external hard drive alive, so when the PC is awakened, the HD causes AutoPlay to pop. There is no fix or reasonable workaround. So, I've returned the card to Frys and uninstalled the USB3 driver. The Sabrent card is the only USB3 upgrade card sold by Frys in their Austin store. Next, I think I'll try the Western Digital 2-port PCIx-USB 3.0 card which uses NEC chips & which also does not require an additional power cable. The many Amazon customer reviews I read about the WD card were very good, but the Amazon price of $37 will probably keep me waiting for a sale because I don't yet own any USB3 devices anyway. Also, I'm waiting for the price of WD's My Book 2TB or 3TB external HD to come down.

Hey guys. I work in an IT department at a rather large facility doing desktop support. Recently myself and a couple of the other guys in the department have come across 10-15 machines that all are sharing this problem. The network cards are working fine one day, then the next day they are showing up under the "Unknown Device" category in the Device Manager. The interesting thing is that the name of the card still shows up fine, it is just under the Unknown Device category with the exclamation next to it. We have tried everything we can think of with no luck. We uninstalled and reinstalled the device, swapped in new NIC cards under different PCI slots, ran spybot and ad aware, all of the machines are protected by Trend Antivirus and are not showing any viruses, we even did Windows repairs and its not working. This is happening on both 2000 and XP machines that are fully patched. The only way we have been able to fix this and get connectivity back to the machines is by doing over the top windows installs or formatting and starting over completely. Has anyone else ran across this and know of a better fix?

I've been lagging really bad lately, and the thing is.. I'm on a router and the other 2 people on it do not lag, only me. Is this a network card issue? If so, how do I find out? What can I do to find out if there's anything wrong with my hardware? Some input would be greatful.

A:Network card issue?

I seriously doubt this is a NIC issue. My top suspect would be malware.

How about posting a HijackThis 2.00.2 log?

So, I recently replaced my motherboard in my A75-S226 Toshiba laptop. The board didn't come with a wireless card, so I used the one from my old motherboard. When I booted up for the first time, I received a "Network resource conflict" error, citing Slot 3, Bus 2, Device 3, Function 0 as the source of the problem. After I booted, neither the wireless or wired network function worked. In Device Manager, it recognizes a "Unknown PCI device" in that same resource location (Slot 3, Bus 2, Device 3, Function 0). Is this just a matter of re-installing the drivers from a Windows CD? Or do I have to modify something?

I am trying to troubleshoot network adapter metrics issue. Basically I have adjusted interface priority having LAN - first and WIFI - second:

When I type in "netstat -rn |more" in cmd I've got this output which clearly shows that WIFI is still has a metric priority over LAN ?!

Then I went into LAN interface and changed metrics manually for both WIFI (metrics 25) and LAN (metrics 3) as it's shown in this post: http://techrena.net/view-change-network-adapter-card-priority-binding-order-windows-7/
Did ipconfig /release - /renew and restarted laptop just in case. The output is still the same and I can see in my taskbar wifi icon instead of LAN:

and cmd output also shows the same metrics as it was before changes were made?:

Any comments on why the metrics did not change and what is the issue ?

I have buit 2 similar systems and both have this problem. When ever I install the Netgear FA311 network card, the system will not restart or even "Exit" Bios without hanging the system (requires hard reset). I'm using the Gigabyte GA7DX MB.

I have tried every PCI slot and have the problem in all slots (I reset BIOS each time). I have confirmed there is no IRQ issues. I have even disabled all on board perripherals (sound, FDD, USB ports, etc.) and problem still present.

Is this network card just not compatible with the Gigabyte MB or is there something else I can try before replacing the network card? Both FA311 cards worked fine on older version Gigabyte MB's. Since I have the problem with BIOS, I assume the OS isn't applicable (XP). I have the latest version BIOS installed on the MB (F6). Any idea's? Please let me know and Thanks!

Hi guys,

I will try and explain my situation as clearly as possible from the get go so there isn't a ton of probing questions that need to be asked.

My computer specs are:
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit (6.1, Build 7601)
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model: GA-770TA-UD3
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Display: ATI Radeon 5670, 2805MB
Network Card: D-Link Xtreme N Desktop PCI Adapter DWA-552 w/ latest driver v. 1.70

My Situation:
Right now, everything works great. But, every time I restart my PC; my network card wont connect to the router. The SSID is displayed with full bars, however when I try to connect I recieve "limited connectivity" and get the error
"Windows is unable to connect" - http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/6835/step1h.jpg

From here I need to re-install my network card.

Here's the weird part:
As I'm uninstalling the network card, my connection is quickly restored to perfect functionality for 5-10 seconds until the un-installation completes. When I re-install everything it works great... until I reboot my PC.

Side note:
- When I formatted my computer, this issue wasn't happening. I began installing all my windows updates then it started again.

This makes me wonder if there's a Windows Update that is interfering with your network card driver. It's a pain, but you could start uninstalling the networking-related updates one-by-one ("Programs and Features/View Installed Updates") (reboot after uninstalling each one to check the issue). If it's an update, the issue will be resolved after you've uninstalled the right one(s). Or you could format/reinstall again and then update one-by-one, rebooting in between each, and see which one breaks it and uninstall that one.

Sometimes, our Windows 8.1 desktop will not go to sleep. The monitor will, but the tower will not.

Nucci sent me a thread, but I really didn't understand it. I have to have someone explain to me clearly how to do these things.

So, can someone help me fix this sleep issue?

It seemed as if it was going to sleep before I installed Avast! I have automatic updates turned on for Avast!, so could that be what's keeping it from going to sleep? It was doing fine the day before.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

The power management features of a system need the correct Chipset drivers. Just to make sure, go here:

Acer | Download

for your Windows 8.1 64-bit drivers for your Acer Aspire XC-603 motherboard - they seem to be very recent:

Chipset Driver
42.7 MB

Once the drivers have downloaded and installed, reboot and see if you can get your system to behave as you need.

The safest rule is to stay with your OEM's latest driver versions - there may be more recent drivers available from other sources, but they may not be fully compatible with your system.

I would not recommend using Avast or Panda Antiviruses while you are having difficulties - the inbuilt Windows Defender security is sufficient - unless you take undue risks by visiting unsafe internet sites, and download dubious materials - to which the solution is -don't!

I have a problem with my pc randomly locking up and having to be rebooted. I believe it has to do with the wireless card accessing my network, but I canít figure out how to troubleshoot it. (If this is the wrong forum, please let me know!)

I have a desktop, two laptops, and a printer on a wireless network. All of them have been working fine. Then, about a month ago, I loaded a new game on my desktop, which worked entirely fine for roughly three weeks. Then last week, I tried setting up a server in the game. On my first attempt, it locked up my pc at the setup server stage, and I had to reboot. On my second attempt, I tried a slightly different configuration, and it created a local server and worked just fine.

Everything seemed okay for a couple of days, and then the game started to lag after a few minutes of play. After two or three more rounds of play, the lag was then accompanied by the pc locking up. Couldn't figure out why, so I stopped playing it.

Within a day or two, my desktop would randomly freeze without warning, with no clear connection to any specific application or time of day. This has continued to today. Sometimes the lock up is preceded by erratic behavior, such as the wireless keyboard freezing up though the companion wireless mouse will work (or vice versa) and an occasional USB connecting-then-disconnecting sound, though nothing had been touched. Sometimes the lock up is for 10 seconds or so. Most of the time, though, there are no warnings, and it ... Read more

Recently bought a Dell Inspirion with the Intel i5 M520 2.40 GHZ processor and 4GB of RAM.

Installed Windows XP SP3 on it with no problems though when I look at my Task Manager I see only 24 Processes running and the CPU Usage is running at about 25% across the board for the 4 chips. This is with no applications running except for explorer.exe.

My other computer is XP SP 2 Core Duo 2.5 and with no apps running the cpu never seems to go above 3%.

Wanted to see if anyone out there had any experience with this and could provide some information as to what needs to be done to resolve this.

Appreciate all insight and please let me know if you need any other information.

When system goes to sleep longer than a hour and you wake it up the bottom third of the screen freezing.

The top 2/3's get split like window pane a when you scroll the top 2/s's will scroll but the bottom 1/3 will remain as it was before sleep...

Also the bottom third wont have any hover icon effects though icon will still work, the task work as intended...

If I restart the programs the will work fine but windows has to restart for icon hover effects to work....

Any Idea whats going on here...

This is a New Build less than 4 months old just starting doing this, No driver crashes, hardware not returning any errors..
