Uninstall Power Manager

Q: Uninstall Power Manager

Hi everyone, I have upgraded my x250 from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and now can?t uninstall the Power Manager. It gives me a DLL error message when I boot up. I have tried changing the compatibility view settings to Windows 7 but had no luck. Does anyone know how I can disable it from boot? Ideally I would like it completed uninstalled but can live without seeing the error message every time. Thank you for your help

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello. I'm having issues with my t450S not being able to go in to sleep mode. Everything I've read says that these two programs have major issues with Windows 10 and could be the source of my problem. I go to uninstall and it says that the program can't run on this version of Windows. Ok, so I have tried many of the solutions offered in this forum and nothing has worked thus far: * c:\swtools\readyapps\pwrmgrv\setup.exe -l0x9 -AddRemove* change compatibility mode of programs and try then* straight up add/remove button Please let me know what I can do to get these off my system (without reverting back to Windows 7).  Thank you!

Months ago I installed a store purchased version of Spore and the EA (Electronic Arts) Download Manager was part of the package. I uninstalled Spore (via the Add/Remove Programs) but the EA Download Manager didn't uninstall. It is visible in the list of Add/Remove programs, but there isn't an option to uninstall it.

Now, a popup menu appears asking to download something from EA Games.

I used regedit to to check the HKey entries, but I didn't see anything listed for EA Games (which is where I would expect it).

Any help anyone could give me to get rid of the EA games would be greatly appreciated.

I downloaded Mega Manager onto my computer. Today I decided that I did not want it. I uninstalled it. Then I restarted my computer like it told me to. after I did I was unable to use the internet. I checked everything. It was all doing good. I used the diagnose problem it found nothing. It also said I was connected to my ISP. And that My connection was fine. The only thing was I was unable to use any internet program. My Modem to my internet would not get a steady light where it says PC. It would keep flashing. I know that it is supposed to be steady. SO I did a system restore and now it is working again. Any Idea of what might have caused the problem. I think that mega manager changed some kind of network connection or something to do with my internet settings. I would like to fix the problem please. I want to get rid of mega manager. But I had to do a system restore to where I downloaded it the night before. So it is back on my PC now.

A:Mega Manager uninstall

Mega Manager? I suspect that it set up some kind of hook to intercept certain actions of the tcp/ip protocol
and doesn't properly remove that hook when uninstalled thus corrupting the LSP (Layered Service Provider)
Try this:
Uninstall Mega Manager
Open an Admin command prompt (type cmd in search dialogue, right click it, "Run as admin"
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset

That should usually do it (It's effectively the same what we used to do under 98 and XP: remove the TCP stack and reinstalling it.

Try that and report back

A:Accidently uninstall bluetooth device manager

Open Device Manager, then right click on <computername> at the very top and select 'Scan for hardware changes' from the context menu.

Failing that, go to View > Show Hidden Devices, then look for any residual Bluetooth devices. If there are any, remove them all. Right click on each and select Uninstall. Once their all removed, click 'Scan for hardware changes'

Alternatively, visit the LG Driver Downloads page and download the Bluetooth drivers for your specific model. Make sure the model number is correct to the letter.

A:Removal/Uninstall HP ProtectTools Security Manager

Greetings to all who may see this. I figured out a way to remove the HP Protect Tools and Manager. Here's how I did it...1) -went to HP drivers page for my model and downloaded all the Protect Tools software listed. By running these applications I was given the prompt to "repair"/"Remove" of course I chose remove.  2) an issue came up where one of the installers did not give this promot, and the software on my laptop was out of date and the listed applications on the drivers site were newer than my software. In these circumstaces I updated the software via HP SoftPaq (to make I am not installing versions side by side, SoftPaq will update the current version on your computer for you) and behold once updated the applications were listed in the Add/Remove Programs.----NOTE TO HP: UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS DOWNLOAD PAGE! I NEEDED TO UPDATE TO HPPTSM v8. THIS HAD TO OCCUR SO I COULD UPDATE MY CompuTrace APPLICATION IT WON'T INSTALL ON v7 ( & SO IT WOULD SHOW UP IN THE ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS ) --- Hope this helps the next person!!!Regards,-Shway

Trying to install Windows 10. Uninstalled all components of HP Client Security Manager and thought I uninstall HP Client Security Manager as well. But it still appears on the programs list. When I try to uninstall it again, I get this error:  Error applying transforms.  verifiy the specified transform paths are valid. When attempting to install Windows 10 at this point, it indicates HP Protecttools needs to uninstalled (which I assume is HP Client Manager since that is what appears in the program listing .... in regedit, the two seem to be connected.) I don't know what transforms are and have no idea on how to proceed. I see something about changing the path for the transform in regedit, but I don't even find a transform and HP Client Security associated in the registry. When I try to use the Microsoft uninstall utility, it doesn't recognize that either Client Security Manager or Protecttools is installed (it is not on the list of applications presented) so I click Not Listed and it  asks me to provide Product Code for the software. I haven idea where to find that. Any advice is appreciated.

I am using windows98.
I bought a Aureal vortex SQ 2500 sound card.

It started giving a lot of problem, like sometimes the sound will appear and sometimes it will not.

On surfing through the internet i found that this because the earler driver wasn't uninstalled properly and I did the following.

1)Removed DOS loading Statement for the sound Card in the Autoexec.bat!

2) UNINSTALLED the previous drivers in Windows using add/remove programs!

3) Deleted the following Files:

4) In Device Manager removed the Aureal Sound Card & Then Rebooted.

Also in startup(ie blue screen appearing on pressing delete) I disabled the Joystickor gameport Option.

When I rebooted indeed the message came" new multimediaPCI device found" and it asked for the installing software twice. I don't know whether it is the reason or not windows didn't boot properly. In safe mode I uninstalled everything and booted.

Now this time" new multimediaPCI device found" didn't come. Only"new wave device for modem found"came.

On going to safe mode again I went to device manager and here I found my PCI card under unknown devices. Earlier it was appearing under Multifunction Adapter category.still i removed it from that category

I wanted to remove the vortex au8330 pci audio from the sound ,video and game controller section so that on rebooting... Read more

A:how to uninstall sound card that doesn't appear on device manager

to see it listed under other devices is no problem. on detection, choose from a list of
devices to select sound and game there. in device manager in the sound catagory, you
can right click the device listed as your card and choose update driver. this will allow a
search for the correct one.

on doing this, choose the i will select option to go to the correct drivers you have. in
the search there, one driver will be highlighted when you reach the place on hard drive
or removeable media where they are located. click ok there. windows will install them.

you want the card listed in the sound devices catagory. that is where it supposed to
be upon a good installation. if you are unsure, boot to safe mode and uninstall devices
listed there referring to the au8330. upon a reboot, windows should have a new detect
on your sound card. let windows take the new drivers you found for 98. upon reaching
the desktop you should hear a wav file if one is assigned for windows startup.

if this sound is now heard, proceed to install the sound card software. this will install a
full driver set. when working properly, go back to device manager and see if the modem
is listed there. if you have no modem, right click on it to choose the uninstall. try this
and post results if you continue to have difficulty. the new device listed is not absolute
for your device on bootup. remember to search for the correct drivers.

No problem, i ordered a brand new one.
Only to find im having the same issue, Its installed but when i go to windows movie maker, it says the hardware is in use already when it is not.

the problem i think it is, Is that theres another card supposedly installed on the PC that isnt there.

Having all sort of issues with a brand new ProBook 470 G3. Just bought the laptop, and it came with Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 Pro.Tried to install Windows 10, it asked to remove HP Client Security Manager as it's not compatible. CSM said to unistall Drive Encryption, which you can't unless you disable CSM!!I was able to log in to CSM but all the sudden, I'm getting the DPFPApi Error and entering password just says out of range or something along those lines.Have tried, - installing/repairing windows 7, it goes to the blue error screen upon restart.- Repairing both Client Security Manager and hard drives goes no where.- Cannot remove windows password from the control panel as it says cannot remove as policies require it (CSM).Brand new laptop and I'm about to throw it out the window... someone help please.

I am so over my head but I have managed to gain access to Client Security Manager... gives errors every now and then but at least I get in....I will share details below of what worked as a lot of people seem to have this issue. BUT what I need to know now is how to disable the client security mgr SO I can uninstall drive encryption SO i can uninstall Client security manager...!! GO Figure what the heck HP was thinking with this loop. What I did was follow what these two sites suggested https://support.software.dell.com/enterprise-reporter/kb/116792 https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754820(v=ws.11).aspx in combination with what redlofredlof suggested in this thread (top post on page 2) regarding "start" ing Digital Persona Service... I also set it actions to "restart service" in the "recovery tap" so it restarts every time it fails (within few seconds of working)... SO as soon as I got the DPFPApi error, I closed CSM, opened service, found the digital persona setting and pressed start... did not log out or anything after. I just opened the CSM back up and no more DPFPApi error.THat's about the time I got the RPC service is unavailable error, which I fixed by looks of it by following those two links above. HOpe this helps someone. One step closer... not much progress... as I still dont know how to remove this darn CSM/encryption so I can install the Windows 10 :/

I did recently a clean W10 install and there are, of course, issues. My flight stick X52 Pro crashes the PC immediately when it is plugged in (BSOD) and I have no idea why. Saitek is a notoriously incapable of producing good drivers for their products, so even when I installed theirs drivers I got a BSOD. Saitek's uninstall guide for this specific product says I should remove all programmable support entries from the device manager. Which gets us to my problem: I can't remove two entries from programmable support in device manager (Programmable Hotkeys and Programmable Root Enumerator) because device manager freezes when uninstalling or disabling them. How can I uninstall them?!

I am also suspect of my Windows USB drivers. I installed my 3.0 driver from my motherboard manufacturer which, in theory, it should be fine, yet when I plug the X52 Pro in one of the normal USB ports it is not recognized by the windows.

Also, after the fresh installation a new drive F appeared in my explorer. It is empty, I can access it, but I have no idea why it is there. In disk management it is described as a 450MB NTFS drive (Healthy Primary Partition). What is that and how do I get rid of it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

A:Device Manager Freezes + Uknown drive F after uninstall

I don't know about those drivers, I have different model but you can safely remove letter for that partition. If it's after C:/ it's most probably restore partition. Just to be sure, can you post a picture of Disk management ?

A:Win 7 Power Options or HP Power Manager ??

HP Factory Install is the worst possible install of Win7 one can have, larded with bloatware and duplicate utilities which interfere with better versions built into Win7. That's why most tech enthusiasts won't even run such an install but instead Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Everything needed is in the blue link to get and keep a perfect install just like a million others have done without a single complaint.

If you'd rather first try to clean it up you can try these steps to Clean Up Factory Bloatware
but HP is the worst of all brands for its bloatware so if you ever want to experience native perfect Win7 performance on that machine I'd do the reinstall.

The computer is an older P4 machine running WinXP w/ AT&T DSL internet service. My brother hooked up an old wireless-g router, but he didn't know how to configure it and the computer lost internet access. I removed the router and hooked the DSL modem directly to the computer like it was before.

Since then, the computer takes a long time to boot up. It's like it's searching for a hardware device that is no longer installed. Also, the internet download speeds are painfully slow. I tried speedtest.net and got 238ms ping and 0.11Mbps. By my math, that's 14KB/s. Previously, download speed was usually around 150KB/s.

I went into the Device Manager and saw that there were several conflicts for the network adapter. I tried uninstalling them, but it fails -- even in Safe Mode. They are disabled though. There is also an entry for a RAID controller that does not exist (unless it's built into the mobo). I can uninstall that, but it tries to reinstall when the computer is rebooted.

So it seems to me that there are remnants of the router's software/driver installation that I can't get rid of. I also tried Add/Remove Programs to see if there is a router setup program, but I didn't find anything.

I am trying to upgrade Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 10, and I got  message saying the upgrade was cancelled and Winhdows 10 installation could not continue because I first have to uninstall the following programs: Business Contact Manager and Anri-Malware Core.  I have looked under "all programs" and on the C:\ drive (programs), but I cannot find any files with these names. If anyone can help me identify what I'm supposed to uninstall and where the programs are likely to be located, I'd be very appreciative. Thank you.

Hello folks.

In Windows Home Premium 64bit we encounter this problem on a machine after trying to uninstall a norton product manually.

The norton software led to serious problems of randomly emerging BSODs.

As system uninstall did not work we researched a tutorial on how to manually uninstall the soft.

It can be found here:

Enterprise Support - Symantec Corp. - How to manually uninstall the Symantec Endpoint Protection client from Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 2008 R2 64-bit

Everything worked smoothly until the last three steps of the routine failed (12.-14.):

We can not uninstall/delete the wireless network adapters as described. After clicking "uninstall" there is the window that asks for confirmation (to uninstall) but after clicking "yes" the device manager window simply refreshes - and the device remains unchanged.

Disabling the affected devices does not help either since we get a "limited connectivity" error when trying to connect to our router.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Thanks so much.

A:Unable to uninstall wireless network adapters from device manager.

Wow, Norton is such a mess. I can never recommend anyone use their crappy software.

Try manually uninstalling the driver with the following steps:
Click the Start Orb, and in the search type "view net connections" and hit enter.
Find the wireless adapter you need to remove and right click it and click Properties.
Click the Driver tab.
Click the Uninstall button

Let me know if that works.

Next time when I restart the laptop, the driver would be re-installed automatically without my permission. A:Power Management Problem - Real Networks Player Uninstall

Thanks for posting your solution. Just out of curiosity was this application of REAL OBNOXIOUS, sorry REALPLAYER a paid version or freeware?

The only reason I ask this is the fact that earlier this year I purchased a domain name for 10 years that I will eventually get off the ground. The purpose of the website will be to gather support to pursue legislation to force software manufacturers whose applications are sold in the U.S. to include a FULL UNINSTALLER with their program. Obviously, you could not include operating systems manufacturers and you could not include freeware manufacturers since all freeware is downloaded and installed at the users risk.

Personally, I am just sick and tired of installing a program and later decide I want to uninstall it and the uninstaller just removes enough to "cripple" the program and still leaves files and registry entries scattered all over your computer.

Again, glad you got your problem solved.

Hi, I'm running a T61P, Win7 Ent/SP1. System Update repeatedly showed Power Manager 6.67.5 as available after repeated successful updates. I DLd the update and tried to run it manually, but it kept telling me there was an earlier version of PM installed, and did I want to remove it. I said yes, and it seemed to uninstall (and reboot), but trying to run the PM update kept showing the "previous version installed" prompt. I used Add/Remove to uninstall both PM and the PM driver, then searched the registry and removed all references to PM from there, then sarched the hard drive and removed all PM files I could find. I still can't install PM. It's still telling me that there's an earlier version installed. I tried downloading and installing previous versions of PM back to v3, but I still get that frustrating "previous version" prompt and can't get beyond that. Please does anybody have a way to get past this prompt? GaryK

After spending $99 on a paid Lenovo tech-support instance that required days of fighting to get through to an ultimately clueless level-2 tech (he tried to use RevoUnistallPro to uninstall a directory containing a downloaded-but-uninstalled version of Power Manager), I solved this on my own and am here posting the solution in case anyone else runs into a similar problem--inability to install Power Manager upgrades with the error message that a previous install exists: Search in the registry for and delete all found occurrences of PWRMGR and PWRMGRV. Once there were gone I was able to install the current Power Manager instance for Win7 (6688 as of this posting). GaryK

My battery had recently died and I haven't had the time or money to buy a new one. My Dell laptop, which I only bought not even a full year ago, still works as long as it's plugged into a power source. The problem is, and it's the biggest nuisance ever, is that the Dell Power Manager Lite notifies me all the time that my battery isn't working or something along the lines of it. It's extremely annoying because it pops up every few minutes or seconds even and interrupts important things. I've done everything I can to try to turn off the notifications, as there is no real option to turn them off. I can't uninstall this program as it's nowhere in my files. Control panel has no way to uninstall it either. I am stuck with the most annoying popup notification. My question is, how can I turn off power manager lite notifications or uninstall the program completely when there are no straight options?

FOr the last few weeks... I get an error message every time I plug my charger in.  Now I cannot charge my battery.  sometime it works and other times not.  May be related to what ever else is plugged into the house outlets at home... iPad, iPhone, Mac computers, HP printer, etc.

Very annoying and now cannot leave my puter unplugged.

I think it is a software issue as the charger and cord all work fine to keep the puter alive when plugged in.
