How to record rtmp:// flash video .flv stream from embedded Adobe Flash Player

Q: How to record rtmp:// flash video .flv stream from embedded Adobe Flash Player

Hi,

My friend recently asked me to help her download some music video flv files from the website MTVIggy. I normally use Orbit Downloader for saving flv's I like from youtube but it doesn't seem to work on this site. I've tried a program called Replay Media Catcher but ut also doesn't work. Does anyone know of a program/tool that is actually capable of downloading the flv files from MTVIggy?

Thank you for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

Preferred Solution: How to record rtmp:// flash video .flv stream from embedded Adobe Flash Player

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: How to record rtmp:// flash video .flv stream from embedded Adobe Flash Player

As the site is owned by Viacom/MTV, my guess is that it is DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected and videos can't be downloaded. I normally use Real Player when I need to download embedded videos but I don't think it will work and I'm not aware of a free product that will download DRM protected videos.

We have IE 6. Say a user goes to MSN.com. The ad on the right is a Flash object. Some of our users will see that object flickering when scrolling up or down on the page or when hovering their mouse over it. It's quite annoying. Almost all users are running Adobe Flash Player 9, but I think I've seen this happen on systems with Macromedia Flash Player 8 as well. Other systems don't have the problem. I've seen this happen on one system and not another while both seemed to have the same Flash objects installed.

Uninstalling all Flash players using Adobe's prescribed Flash Player uninstall tool seems to work at first, but users later complain again. Note that they just about always end up installing Flash Player 9 again, because sites ask for it. I don't believe I've seen this on any XP systems at all, including my own, but most of our users have Win2K.

Does anybody know why this happens or how to permanently fix it?

Thanks,
Hotshot309

A:Ie 6 - Flash Objects Flickering - Using Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex R28 (shockwave Flash Object V. 9.0.28.0)

More info: Adobe Flash Player 9, Macromedia Flash Player 8, and Macromedia Flash Player 10 all produce the same result--Flash objects that flicker when you put your mouse over any part of them. Moving Flash objects will flicker constantly while moving and stop flickering when the animation is done. SWF files (at least the one at www.stormwerks.com/linked/stuf/AYB2.swf) work without a problem when using Adobe Flash Player 9.

If I don't have Adobe Flash Player 9 installed, the Win2K machines prompt me to install them for almost any site that uses Flash (I guess most recent Flash objects cannot be viewed with the older Macromedia Flash Players).

Any suggestions?

I recently got in an accident and have been doing physical therapy and yoga to help with the pain. I have very slow internet so streaming isnt an option for me. What i need is to download some videos off a site, but none of the normal methods of getting videos are working. Ive tried keepvid, offliberty, download helper extension on firefox. Nothing seems to be working. Theres no SWF link to grab and this JW flash player is a pain. When you look at the source code all that comes up is this:

/videos/smil/53000190-d198-4e3e-8e30-6b2c0a9aa0eb.smil

but when you try to put that link in, nothing happens.
Here is a direct link to the video in question (you will need to make an account to view the video (it takes a few seconds and you can use fake info to register)):

Here's what's going on. Before my problem happened, I installed Kaspersky antivirus software on my Windows 7 desktop computer to help deal with the choppy flash player media and to help speed up my computer since my normal antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials didn't do the job. When that didn't work, I uninstall the software and I was unable to reinstall MSE. (I subsequently installed Avast after I did the MSE troubleshooting for installation failures). To my guess, it causes the following problem to happen. (Or I may be wrong on that one)

You see, last Sunday as usual, I was surfing the internet and I wanted to watch a clip of a basketball game on Yahoo Sports. When I clicked on it, the video ignored my commands as my pointer doesn't change into the hand symbol. When I wanted to play an embedded youtube video on my tumblr, it did the exact same thing of not playing the video as I directed. Here's the kicker, when I pressed the fullscreen icon on the embedded youtube player, it starts playing the video and when i double click, it did its respective function of increasing the video to fullscreen with the original controls of play/pause, volume, and rewind/fastforward intact. However, when I put it back to normal screen, the problem continues to persist. On other flash embedded videos from different sites, similar incidents occur only except that the fullscreen function didn't play the video and the embedded flash videos just did nothing w... I uninstalled Adobe Flash with their uninstall tool because I read somewhere you needed to update it because of major security flaw. I went over to the Adobe website to try and find an update, as well as a tutorial on how to update, as I had no idea what version I had. Their website is a mess unless you want to purchase something, and then you can find whatever your want. Since I had no idea what version of player, I just DL their uninstall tool, then DLed their new flash. I used their uninstall tool, and then reinstalled the new Adobe Flash Player. The only PU that came up was that it couldn't install in Opera. I went looking to try and configure it, then I read in the post below, you had to go to the link, http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ for shockwave, and figured it would lead me to flash and all that crap. I remembered what a PIA it was. I went over there, and it says flash works, but I still don't know if it's the latest flash or not. On the right it says I need to install "other sw", but that probably because I don't have shockwave installed. BTW, when I used their uninstaller from an administrator account, it completely wiped out my FX profile in the limited user account for some reason. It didn't do anything to the FX profiles in the administrator's accounts. A:Adobe Flash uninstall tool,& is there a better/safer flash player w/o the hassles?

The flash player for IE and Firefox is in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash. The IE one is called Flash9f.ocx and for Firefox its NPSWF32.dll.

You can view current version, by going to a page with a flash object on the web page, right click on the Flash object and select About Adobe Flash Player 9 and it will take you to Adobe site and display version.
You can also get version from the files about on the Version or Details tab of its properties.

As for removal, just either use the Uninstall tool in the same folder (See above) or delete all the files in the folder to remove it.

Hi again forum members,
My Adobe Flash Player has recently stopped streaming video, so that it keeps on pausing the video ever couple of seconds, as it loads. This is on Youtube videos and on Facebook Funwall and Superwall. My daughter's computer has exactly the same problem. I took the advise of the Adobe.com website and used their uninstaller software and used Find in my registry to extract anything left there. I then restarted and installed the 9.0.124.0 Adobe Player, but it is exactly the same. I have read on the interent it is caused by a Microsoft update for Internet Explorer, I am running I.E.7. I cannot find any way of fixing this problem. Anyone got any ideas please? Thank you.

Been having issues with Flash player for months now. The weird thing is that most videos on most sites still work, but some sites will display the "movie not loaded" upon right click, with the solid white box at where the video player is.

- This happens on ALL browsers. Chrome, IE, Firefox. All of them are at latest version
- Adobe Flash Player is latest version
- Yes I can see the "cloud animation" on the page that checks whether or not I have flash installed, as well as the green checkmark: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
- Manual re-install of Flash does not fix issue

Youtube works, so do most other video sharing sites. But others, like this one The Other Guys Review | The Angry Joe Show, does not work and shows the "movie not loaded" error.

What is causing this?

I have an ION IO2 LP2 Flash Record Player, which enables customers to play records at 33 and 45 rpm via a hi-fi or a computer and transfer the records to a USB stick among other options.

I wish to play records via my computer, but I have a dilemma:

Although my records spin fine on the turntable, when I connect the USB lead to the back of my computer (I currently have Windows Vista if relevant), there is no sound.

What is preventing the sound?, and how do I achieve sound?

I'd thought that sound would be instant, once the lead was connected, but I am very keen to find a solution so I can make the most of my record deck and recording options.

Also, is Audacity easy to set up?
(there are 2 options - the eZ Player, which is good but has least Scratch Filter options, and Audacity)

I look forward to your feedback.

A:Ion LP2 flash record player - no sound

Seeking help

Can anyone assist me?

Thinking further, as I'm not a technical expert, is the cause of No Sound due to a setting in my Computer?

I imagine it's not a fault in the record player, but either way, I can't get any sound out of the record player.

If whatever's blocking the sound is in the computer, which settings do I need to look for to achieve sound?, and/or

Is it because I don't yet have Audacity set up that I'm getting no sound?

I'm very keen to use my record player.

Although record players will vary and I'm not sure if any of you have an ION record player, perhaps there are other record players where Sound has to be activated a specific way where some of you have had the same muted sound on your record players of a different brand or different model or ION.

Please help asap.

Hi all.

After a couple time, I noticed my IE stopped showing embedded flash-based videos. That was earlier than IE9 launch. I've then installed the "Beauty of the Web" to try out and was still without this feature. I didn't actually care much, but anyway, this bothers me enough to come here to ask.

Has anyone encountered this behavior? Just the embedded videos aren't playing, but going to YouTube website, I can watch the videos.

My Shockwave preferences are allowing plugin usage for any -- ie, * -- websites. Also, if I open an alternative browser -- Apple Safari 5 --, all works fine.

Finally, this user account is limited. If I open an IE9 window as Administrator, guess what? It works!

I am aware a couple weird stuff happens if you never log on your admin account -- IE, some Blizzard games does not install properly. But I have taken care of logging on to this local admin account to have things set up, but that was still a no-go.

Any clues or suggestions on where to look at? Or report a bug at Adobe website?

Thanks.

Hello everyone, I am new to this site, a friend at work said you all saved her computers life, so I am hoping you can save mine as well. Several weeks ago I got a virus on my desktop home computer, a friend from work cleaned up my computer, removed the virus, I thought all was well. Since then I cannot listen to any music, actually have no sound at all, cannot upload/download any of my pictures and cannot play any games. Look through the advice here;http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html and check if anything helps you. See particularly the section headed 'Progress bar hangs during download / Unable to connect to server / Unable to download metafile'

If I were in your shoes I would run the Adobe uninstaller mentioned in the Troubleshooter and then download the plugins from the direct links in the section I refer to above (unless you only use Internet Explorer, in which case you only need the Active X version). These are .exe files which you doubleclick on to install, so they don't need any of the automated online stuff that isn't working for you.

It's your choice but, if you create a system restore point before doing anything, you should at least be able to get back to where you are now if things don't go well!

Aleady downloaded and installed Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265 a few days ago, as directed from the announcement window upon computer startup, to the adobe page link, to the download of this new version of Flash Player. The install a few days ago (downloaded first) was successful. YouTube videos work (although this was checked in other browsers, not in I.E.). This morning, another update announcement window appeared for Flash Player. I was expecting the button to give me the typical installer interface to automatically download then install Flash Player, but NO. Instead, the announcment window button gave me the web page to permit me to choose to download what I ALREADY have - version 11.4.402.265. I already have that version. Where then is the update? I would expect to see the two gray windows involving an update for v11.4, hopefully to give me some update higher than ...265, and not see another web page through my default browser.

I checked the adobe site to try feedback to report this but I had to face a mess of a website to move through (Adobe....) if I want that.

Anyone know if I may have some unknown fault on my system, or if this webpage is the right kind of way to get the update which I already have? Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265 is the current release version. For Firefox, I check all plugins here http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

For those of you who are not yet aware of it, Adobe now owns Macromedia and has released a public beta version of Flash Player - 8.5.0.245. You can read about it and download it from here.

Make sure to download the Uninstaller file, then use it to uninstall any 7.0 and 8.0 versions that your computer might already have. Once these versions have been uninstalled and removed from the C:\Windows\System32\Macromedia\Flash folder, you can install the new 8.5 version.

I've installed it and tested it and it seems to be working okay.

I was just curious. My mom just got a new computer it runs World of Warcraft very very good. But when she plays Farmville 2 it is very very slow. The Internet connection is great I notice though when I run the farmville on her computer there is 2 Adobe Flash Players on the task manager. Is that normal? Could that be the problem?

Every time I open a website on Chrome or, I see a pop-up saying that Adobe Flash Player was blocked because it is out of date. On Firefox, a pop-up also says that Firefox has prevented the unsafe plugin "Adobe Flash" from running the web page that I visit. It is really annoying. How can I solve this issue?

what browser are you using? It could be as simple as Adobe somehow got disabled in the browser. If you're using IE, then go to tools-manage addons and make sure Flash is enabled

Ok, last night I had to reinstall my flash cs3, in which I think my previous Adobe Flash Player was uninstalled.

After which, I reinstalled and found that some sites, such as newgrounds.com, will say I don't have a flash player installed.

I've tried installed the flash player numerous times and also deleting my temporary internet files,

any help is appreciated on how to fix this problem

I had similar issues. The problem in my case seemed to be that the previous install had not been completely removed and was interfering with my browsers recognizing any new installs. I followed the directions here http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2 and then reinstalled the flash player and all was fine.

Hi Gilbert,
Welcome to TSG. When you update your flash, do you see the movie at the top that indicates it finished? When you go to the website that's requiring you to update, does it tell you which version you need?

Hello.

I installed the latest adobe Flash player, but only on one site www.omegle.com the item setting is not active. But it works when I decrease the size of page when I have zoom 150% it does not work neither IE nor Google chrome, when I reduce it to 125% it is ok - the word setting is now active. Why it is so? When I had previus version of Flash player, it worked whatever the size was on both IE and chrome.

So, I can not get to the offer allow or deny, but only on omegle site. It Works well with other sites.
I have Windows 7, 64 bit.

Thank you.

You need to uninstall the old version of Flash first using the Flash uninstall tool. You can download it at this link.http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

Last night I downloaded the latest version of the browser Firefox (vers. 4.0.1) and this morning i can't watch videos. The notice informed me to download the latest Adobe Flash Player which I did (by following the link and d/loading the flash player). Then I installed the player normally.
However, still not able to see videos.
Am I missing someting? Anyone else struck this problem?
Anyone know the solution?

kind regards to all

No problems here with Firefox or IE.

Did you download the Firefox version of Flash?

NOTE - If you are using Firefox, Flash Player is installed as a Firefox plug-in.
To make sure the Flash Player plug-in is enabled, do the following: In the Firefox menu, select Tools > Add-ons.
Select Plugins in the Add-ons dialog box.
Select Shockwave Flash in the list of plugins.

If you see the Disable button, then the Flash Player plug-in is enabled. Close the dialog box.
If you see the Enable button, then the Flash Player plug-in is disabled. Select the Enable button and close the dialog box.
Should that not work it will mean an uninstall / reinstall of Flash .

I'm having trouble installing the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, and so is our IT guy. When I'm using Firefox, I get a message that sites need Flash Player installed. Our IT guy has administrator rights, and even he can't understand why it won't install. It starts installing, but then comes up with a message that it can't load metafile? He recently upgraded me from XP to Vista. I'm having problems with some software that uses IE to run, and he says that Flash Player is the problem. Can anyone help?

A:Adobe Flash Player

Usually the message is caused by a third party Firewall or AV with some manner of web protection
If you have those try temporarily disabling them whilst downloading and installing the Firefox flash
So after disabling them please follow this
Installing Flash using the Plugin Finder Service

Go to a page that uses Flash such as Adobe's test page.

A yellow notification bar will appear above the webpage. Click Install Missing Plugins. The Plugin Finder Service window will appear. An info panel will appear above the webpage. Click Install Flash and the Plugin Finder Service window will appear.
Select the most recent version of Flash listed, then click Next >.
If Windows asks to allow Adobe Flash Player to make changes to your computer, click Yes.

In the Flash installer window, click the check box next to I have read and agree to the terms of the Flash Player License Agreement and then click the INSTALL button that will become activated, to begin the installation.
If that does not work please follow this
Installing the Flash plugin manually

Go to the Flash Player download page at Adobe.com and download the Flash installer. Caution: Adobe's download page may include a checkbox for optional software (such as Google Chrome or McAfee Security Scan) that is selected by default. If you do not clear the checkbox before downloading, that software will be installed on your computer when you open the Flash installer.
When the download has finished, close Firefox.... Read more

I have downloaded and installed Adobe flash player for times. It says the installation is complete and running, but whenever I go to a web site that requires it, the program
says I need Adobe flash player. What am I doing wrong, and what should I do. I emailed Adobe hours ago but got no response. Thanks! My computer has Windows 7 Ultimate.

See if anything here helps;http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html

I always run the Adobe uninstaller before every upgrade and, instead of using the 'online' installation from the main Adobe site, I use the .exe versions which are available in the Troubleshooter (see the paragraph headed 'Progress bar hangs during download...')

Hi,I just visited a forum where I want to view a, " U Tube", video. It opens and begins to play after the circular digital indicator shows its loading, but it runs for a few seconds then the indicator starts to spin again as if it is loading again. Then it plays for a few seconds and repeats this over and over. The video progresses, but I know that this is not right.I have had some notifications that my virtual memory is low. I have recently loaded a lot of Anti-Virus and Malware programs, and I think the only one that is running is AVG. and my Firewall.I have 256 MB RAM and am running XP3, so I guess I can use more RAM, is there anything I can do until I get it.I have a slave drive with plenty of room.Edit: Moved topic from Photo Albums, Images, and Videos to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

I visited Adobe Flash Player 10, I'm not sure what happened there as I was busy posting here, . , the page must have scanned my PC to tell me I have the latest edition plug-in, . .

however I went back to the video and now it is playing, so if it stays that way I probably won't be back on this one.

Thanks !

Ahhhh, . . . I spoke to soon it worked for a bit but it is still reloading, etc. in other words it stops and starts, . .
Also, I posted in this forum, and went back to the post with the video, and it is blank, I refreshed the page a couple times, still it is blank ?

Any idea what the problem is ?

Hi, ever since adobe flash player 18 plug in was updated two days ago I am unable to stream movies/tvshows on a lot my sites I use. I have uninstalled the adobe flash player and reinstalled twice now, uninstalled chrome and even downloaded safari and firefox to see if they worked on there. Ran a scan as well that came up clear. I can not for the life of me figure it out. I even restored my computer to two week prior and it still does not work as the adobe flash player automatically updates without my permission. Does anyone have any other ideas i can try? I even made sure the plug in was enabled on the browser several times. I'm at a loss

Curious....Flash Player 10.2 keeps popping up periodically (every few days) and says it needs to download/install an update. When I agree, the update is always version 10.2. It appears to download/install and everything seems fine, then a day or two or three passes and it does it all over again. This happens on more than one of my machines.
