Q: Yoga 900 Type C - USB not accepting Dell DA 200 Ad...

Hi I tried using DELL DA 200 adaptor with VGA/HDMI/LAN/USB 3.0 with my Yoga 900 Type C USB. Unforunately, only USB 3.0 works, rest is detected by the laptop no display or output shown on laptop. I am using Windows 10, 64 bit, latest BIOS. I tried updating VGA driver, DA 200 driver, etc. but none helped. Any suggestions or help? PMS

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

My wife's notebook wont charge at all. I checked it out and noticed the charging port was broken. Seems typical with these designs.  I replaced the broken one with a new one, and it still wont accept a charge. No battery led light on the front panel,  charging block not getting warm. I did check voltage at the charger, it has power. The laptop just wont take it. Any help please?

I have recently updated my Lenovo 910 to windows version 1703 and after i am not able to log in with my PIN or Fingerprint.  I have tried to install the latest BIOS from the site and made sure that the driver is updated but nothing has worked.  When i go to the fingerprint scan in my accounts i have to enter my pin.... it works there and then when i try and add my finger it says my finger is already in the system.  Also tried deleting the fingerprint and resetting the PIN.  The eerror is on the login screen that says it cant validate my fingerprint.  I have searched online and havent found anything that has helped.  Microsoft support wants me to downgrade my version but this will delete a LOT of things I hope i can find a solution here.

Hi Guys n Girls,

Can someone please help me out on this as I'm pulling my hair out.

I am modernising a Dell Precision T5400 workstation for use with Autocad, Photoshop, Office, etc. and it is now running windows 7 Pro 64 bit SP1 on an SSD.

I've just installed a firepro V5900 but the problem predates this addition.

The X5450's are working fine - I just wish they supported hyperthreading which would really make it a flyer.

The T5400 supports 32GB of ICC ram according to the manual, The 'my dell' programme says it supports 64GB and Sandra lite puts the max at 128GB but the 32GB is all I need.

Anyway I am upgrading from 4GB (4 x 1GB) of DDR2 PC2-5300F-555-11 and have purchased 32GB (8*4GB) of used, supposedly matched, HP 466436-061 RAM (made by hynix, part no's below) from ebay: (hp stickers all have same part number).
4GB 2Rx4 PC2-5300F-555-11 /// HYMP151F72CP4N3-Y5 AB-C 8 STICKS

I can install any of the cards in slots 1-4 +7-8 and the system recognises them and passes all prestartup & memory tests.
I can also instal an additional stick in either slot 5 or 6 which bios picks up although it reports a mismatch on start because slot 5 or 6 is not paired so it does not use it. I only tried it to ensure that the slots are recognising the card.

The manual states that the slots should be paired & filled in order but the computer will not boot as soon as there is a matched pair in slots 5 & 6. It doesnt matter if only 1-4 or 1-4 + 7-8 ... Read more

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... Hey everyone, I've been searching high and low for some info.  I have looked to see if I can find some info but I am unable to find a solution.  I currently have a Lenovo 370 with a Lenovo ThinkPad USB-C Dock( https://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/home-office/Thinkpad-USB-C-Dock/p/40A90090US )  Currently I am running into an issue where I can run two monitors (any combo DP and VGA) and they will run at full resolution.  As soon as the third monitor is connected; doesn't matter the combo or how the third is plugged in, it runs at 640x480 resolution and will not adjust to proper resolution. I have run TVSU and all are updated, and even within windows 10 updates are complete.  Intel support shows that the card can be running at three monitors.  I have a T460s as well that can run the three monitors with the Ultra Dock at full resolution so I know it is not a monitor issue. I am wondering is this a limitation of the Yoga itself or is this a problem with the ThinkPad USB-C dock? Any ideas would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

So I just recently bought a Yoga 920, Star Wars Editon, this last weekend. And today I had my phone connected up through the USB-A port, and while attempting to remove the cable from the laptop, it took a little more effort than normal, only to find that one of the pins inside the port had been bent. I took it into Best Buy to have GeekSquad take a look, and aside from sending it out and having to wait 1-2 week, they suggested I contact Lenovo about the port replacement ability, and then bringing it in for them to work on. So, my question is, is the USB-A port a replaceable part, and if so how would I go about getting a part? Or will I need to have them handle it and send out for repairs?

Does Lenovo sell a compatible docking station for the USB Type-C port? I am looking for a ethernet port, video port (HDMI & VGA) and multiple USB 3.0 ports on a dock that connects to the new USB Type-C port.

A:USB Type-C docking station for Yoga 900

As far as I know, Lenovo currently doesn't offer a USB Type C docking station for the Yoga 900. As you can't charge the Yoga 900 using the USB Type C port, you have to plug in two cables anyway. You might consider buying this adapter by Dell: http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Adapter-Type-Ethernet-470-ABQN/dp/B012DT6KW2 Unfortunately, it only has one USB 3.0 port, but it offers one HDMI, one VGA and one Ethernet port as desired.

I fought this problem all day and I think I have it narrowed down. System is Lenovo Yoga 900 i7 with Windows 10 with all latest updates. Application is Citrix Receiver 4.5. When using Quickbooks with the Citrix Receiver, mouse clicks are disabled/not recognized.  All keyboard inputs still work, the mouse arrow tracks correctly, but mouse clicks seem to be ignored.  This behavior occurs when booting to dual monitor setup with HDMI adapter in the USB Type-C port; booting to single monitor (Yoga), then plugging the HDMIR adapter in the USB Type-C port.  The only resolution is to boot to single monitor (Yoga) and work in single monitor mode exclusively.  I am using the USB Type-C to HDMI adaptor purchased from Lenovo.  This occurs with the Yoga trackpad AND occurs with my USB wireless mouse. Also note with native Windows applications, the mouse works fine with both  monitors connected and active. I really bought the HDMI adaptor to use two monitor with the Citrix Receiver.  I have tried to Google this problem, but I'm unable to find a Citrix Receiver support site/forum that would be appropriate for this question. Any advice appreciated.

Hi! So I have my yoga for more than 2 years now and about a year ago my usbc decided to stop identifying any HDMI connetions via usbc hubs (containing usb ports and ethernet ports). all other ports function fine and in device manager i can see that my laptop recognizes the hub (general usb hub and usb2 billboard exists). i tried 3 different hubs and all are the same, HDMI doesnt work, usb and ethernet connections work fine. I tried those hubs on different laptops (friend`s yoga 910 and sister`s yoga 720) and hubs work perfectly (including HDMI connection) so it`s my laptop specifically.  I tried windows recovery, removing and reinstalling updates, drivers, BIOS and recently a whole computer format but nothing really worked. i tried lenovo vintage and diagnostics tools to no availe.the usbc connection works, so i doubt i have a hardware problem here. does anyone have any idea what might help?

Hello, I use online accounting software (KashFlow) and part of entering invoices involves clicking into a date input field.  It is one of those where a little calendar shows when you click into the field.  You can also manually type a date into this field too. However. On my brand new Yoga 920 using Chrome and Firefox the date input fields are greyed out and a red 'no access' icon shows when you hover over them.  But you can still click it and the calendar pops up as normal.  The only difference is you can NOT type into them anymore. When the source for the page is viewed it looks like the fields have been designated 'readonly'. There is no such problem on any other computer I own, even when using Chrome or Firefox.  The date fields work perfectly well on these other computers - even on a Sony Xperia tablet I own. The only browser that works properly on my Yoga is Edge.  The date fields work as they should.  It's just Chrome (my main browser) and Firefox where they don't work. This seems like a Lenovo-based problem.  A little Google has revealed a couple of similar problems with other Lenovo users. Does anyone have any clue on how to fix this?  This is utterly bizarre behaviour and it's preventing me from working properly. I have attached a photo showing the problem when using Chrome.  These fields should never be greyed out. Thanks,Matt

Hello, I have a pretty new Yoga 920-13IKB.  The USB Type A port just stopped working out of the blue yesterday.  I tried the normal stuff like deleting the usb entries in device manager, disabling fastboot and trying different devices, but nothing is recognized.  I have a USB C to USB A adapter and when I plug a USB A device into the laptop via the USB C port/adapter, that does work fine.  The USB A port does charge my phone though, so it's not totally dead. Anything else I can check on the software side?  It certainly seems like a hardware issue to me. As far as warranty support, I do have Microcenter nearby.  How does support with them work?  It looks like the USB A assembly is a separate board and is not part of the motherboard, so that should be easily replaceable.  Does Microcenter carry parts like that or do they still send it out for that? Thanks!

Been a little embarrassed at two client sites in the last couple of weeks when I've tried to share my screen using the USB type-C port with either DVI or HDMI. In both cases (but not with VGA - it works fine with VGA, usually) the system locks - no keyboard, no mouse, until I remove the cable from the USB port. I've tried this with several adaptors - DVI-DisplayPort-USBC; HDMI-DisplayPort-USBC (there are no "multi-adaptors" from TypeC to all output types - VGA, DVI and HDMI, but there are plenty of display port multi-adaptors, and there are TypeC to DisplayPort.) The system at my office is VGA - and it works just fine. When I try to plug the DVI cable into the multi-adaptor, though, it behaves exaclty like at client sites - machine lock up and then no DVI out on the secondary monitor. Same for HDMI at the office - machine locks up for several seconds, recovers and then no HDMI out. Can't really afford to buy three completely different adaptors (assuming they're even made) for all possible client possibilities. Please tell me what diagnostics i can perform to isolate the problem. To summarize:VGA->DisplayPort->TypeC works (most of the time - not in all instances)DVI>DisplayPort>C never works (locks up and then doesn't recognize seconndary monitorHDMI>DisplayPort>C - ditto with DVI Thanks.

So my co-worked managed to knock my laptop off my desk and it was damaged, ugh... It still functions, but has the following issues:- There's a noticable blemish on the LCD screen and it will need to be replaced- The case is cracked on the right side around a USB port- The case is cracked on the left side around the power connector, and the connector itself is bent Looks like the screen alone runs $400 on Lenovo parts site, and I don't even see case parts listed. I'd prefer to replace the parts myself, but would also be willing to go to a reapair center if I had to. I'm leaning towards replacement instead of repair, but was wondering what others more experienced in laptop repairs thought. Thanks.

A:Repair or Replace? Yoga 14 Type 20FY ThinkPad

I fix machines, so my first impression is always to fix, but you have at least 3 damaged parts (jack, panel and case).  If the jack is damaged, there may be an issue with nearby parts.  I cannot be  sure without seeing it, but my guess is that you would be better off selling the broken one on eBay and buying a different one.
