Microsoft Visual C++2005 Redristibutable x64 issue when installing scanning software

Q: Microsoft Visual C++2005 Redristibutable x64 issue when installing scanning software

I had a Brother laser MFC for many years and needed to replace it so I purchased the current version (MFC-7860DW). While loading the s/w CD, an error popped up that prevents the loading of the Paperport scanning s/w. I have uploaded a screen print of the error message. In case you can not clearly read the attached, the following is the error code: Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of the assembly. Microsoft VC80.CRT.Type="win32".version"8.0.50727.4053".publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9e1e8e3b".processorArchitecture+amd64".

My machine is a Vista 64 bit operating system. Thank you for your help.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It's a compatiablitiy issue. Visual Studio 2005 will only work with XP Home/XP Pro and 2000. For Vista you have to use Visual Studio 2008. There is a free trial version Through MS. Good luck.

I have Googled Microsoft C ++ and still don't quite understand what this program is supposed to do.
That could be either because the explanations given are not user friendly or I am more on the beginner side of Intermediate than I thought. It is crunch time for me as far as space goes and I must remove all the unusable sofftware I can. I did read your information re all the HP bloat and have successfully removed as much of it as I can. Thanx to you and all subscribers who sent in their responses on the subject.

I have a Sony Vaio laptop - Vista 7 w/service pack - with broadband connection from Verizon.com. I use my computer for the most basic things like e-mail, facebook, ebay, genealogy research sites, huge file of genealogy research and family trees, transferring photos from Nikon camera to computer and once in a while I might play a DVD on it. I don't need fancy as you can see and don't have any business meeting things requiring power pointer, slides, etc. I do print out a good amount of pages from the internet. I use a HP Office Jet Pro L 7590 All-in-one with fax capability.

I'm on a fresh reformat, not a pre-built computer its a custom built with Windows 7 64bit professional. Just a quick question I went ahead and installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable X86 and X64 and by looking at my "uninstall or change a program" area I have 3 Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables listed there, I'm assuming by accident Windows updates installed over one for a different version. I'm assuming the regular Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable is the X86? because the other two say X64. Now, should I leave it alone or can I go ahead and remove the older version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable? Which of those two X64 versions is older? and can remove.

and if erros are shown, run this command:

I had this program because when I was taking some courses in college, I was required to have this program on my computer to complete assignments online. However, I am no longer needing this program and I am having a very difficult time removing every bit of this software off.

I'm just curious why Visual Studio seems to be difficult to remove from the computer? Is there a reason behind that, or is it just one of those software's that are a pain to remove?

Any suggestions on how to get it to be removed completely without running into problems? I did start to remove some of it, however I've ran into a bump in the middle of removing it.

I don't know. I have tried to use programs that are supposed to remove programs completely off your PC like revo uninstaller, but I was very confused. I was hoping there was a way around not having to install something like revo uninstaller. I was hoping there was something kind of like what norton had, a uninstaller for their particular software and anything that is tied to it or whatever.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

As I would understand it, the Visual C++ program on your machine would allow interaction with any other program (your games) that has been developed with any of the above mentioned programming languages.

Have you checked in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features, You may have C++2005, and 2008.

All you need to do is update them and the errors should stop.

Resolved. See my last post.

I'm trying to install Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Suite 10. I would ask on the sony forums, but they are complete idiots with their impossibly complicated registration process for the forums (telling you your zipcode is wrong but not giving you a place to actually give it to them, or telling you need a computer ID number when you can't find it unless you install the software...which won't install).

Anyway, I try to install it on windows 7 Home Edition 64bit, and there's a problem with Microsoft Visual C++ 2005. It says it needs to install the service pack for it, but when I click to install it via the Sony software, it says "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click Ok to try again or enter alternative path to a folder containing the installation package 'vcredist.msi' in the box below."

I read around and others have this problem, so they uninstall c++ 2005 and reinstall it and it tends to work for them. Well, I can't uninstall it and start over as it needs the same file to uninstall it. Catch22.

I downloaded a vcredist.msi file from rapidshare, but it didn't work. I can't find just that file on the MS site. There's a vcredist.exe, but I think you have to some how extract it from that, but it won't work. I can't do anything with this. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

Built a new computer, installed Vista, Office and Visual Studio 2005 in that order.

I like to keep the OS on it's own partition seperate from programs and data when possible (partly habit from Win NT days, also allows easy snap shot of OS etc.)

However, Visual Studio would not let me because it said that some resources that were already installed required that Studio be installed on C. This is despite the fact that Office was installed on D. It recommended I un-install the previously installed program and install Studio first.

I'm Ok with starting over but anyone know if the offending program was indeed Office?

Studio gave a hint what the resources were..I think it was SQL server.

Thanks

Does anyone know what this is and do I really need to update it?

Obviously I can make a system image before installing in case anything goes wrong but I was just more curious to know what this is.

A:Update Needed: Microsoft visual C++ 2005 redistributable package

Microsoft Visual C++ is normally installed along side an application. They install runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries which are required to run applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ 2005 installed.

Theres a good chance that a piece of software on your system requires the C++ libraries to run, it is safe to leave the application on there, you might have issues with a specific program if you remove it.

If you can verify the update is coming from Microsoft, there should be no problem downloading an update for it.

Alright, before you point me to some Autodesk troubleshooting site, please hear me out - this isn't the run of the mill problem.

I'm trying to install Autodesk 3Ds Max 2015 on my computer. I have everything in order, but as soon as it starts to install, I get about 3 minutes of a loading bar before this happens:

Naturally, I looked in the log to see what went wrong and found this:

"Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603"

I looked that up and apparently I'm not the only one with this issue. However, the one fix for it (or at least, the one fix that I understood) involved uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (x86) from my computer, rebooting, then redoing the installation.

Sounds pretty clear-cut to me, it's just that there's one problem...

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable is apparently not even on my PC. Even though I literally installed it from the Microsoft website about 10 minutes ago, just to be sure, it won't show up!

So, I can't remove it, because I can't even bloody well find it. I've installed it around 3 times now, every time the installer for C++ 2005 gets to about 70% and then closes without so much as an error noise so I don't even know if it's working or not.

Somebody, please help! The official troubleshooting guides are useless to me and most of the alternate solutions involve all this complicated nonsen... Read more

Hi. I'm new here, as you can see from my post count

I'm having a few issues, which I'll get to in a moment, but first some background info. Sorry I can't be more specific about version numbers and error messages, but I'm on my laptop at the moment. I can get to the desktop probably tomorrow or late LATE tonight.

Had a desktop

2048MB generic budget ram,
HIS Radeon X1600 256Mb,

All drivers newest versions to the best of my knowledge.

I took the old HDD (and some other parts, as mentioned below) and popped it in my upgraded rig:
Athlon 64 X2 4600+
MSI K9MM-V
2048MB Corsair XMS2 TwinX
Same graphics card, optical drives, soundcard, PSU and TV Card.

Before the transfer I uninstalled any MOBO-specific drivers I could find.

At first, the new rig booted and ran fine, except the TV-card was not recognised. So I go get the drivers from Hauppauge.com, blue screen on install. I get them installed finally, and the system bluescreens on boot. Try a system restore from safe mode, etc. Eventually get the thing to load into windows again. Go through uninstalling all the peripherals and using GURU3d Driver sweeper, then re-installing drivers and parts one-by-one. The thing runs great now EXCEPT:

I've just reinstalled my system and when I tried to install Wacom drivers, it said the api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll was missing.
So I tried to install Visual C++ to fix the problem but it said something went wrong. On a forum I saw that uptading Windows 7 would fix the problem, but even after uptading it, I still can't install Visual C++ or the Wacom driver that I need to work.
Can someone help me?
I attached the log of the problem, if it helps.

Hey guys,

I am currently a student in college for computer networking & tech support, the college provides us the licence and all the software for our courses. Although my computer says the SP1 for Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate is ready for install but when I try to install it. It gets half way through and fails. I always install all updates to make sure every thing is working correctly. As well as I have gone to the schools IT desk and they refuse to help me because it's not a computer that belongs to the college.

This is on my laptop I am using for school, the specs are Intel Core i3, ram 6GB, 750Gb HDD, Windows 8.1.

Error Code: 13EC

Thanks

A:Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Problems installing

Try using the real SP1 installer instead of Windows Updates:
Download Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (Installer) from Official Microsoft Download Center

note that there is a small, web based installer, and the full ISO to download the whole thing and work offline. Try both if it continues with the same error.

i downloaded the 90-day trial for microsoft visual studio pro 2008 .iso. I mounted the .iso to a virtual drive with powerISO and run setup.exe. The installer worked fine until it started actually installing. Then it gave me an error saying it can't be installed, and there were red x's next to all the components. The errorlog showed that it stopped installing because there was an .exe it couldn't unpack because it wasn't a cabinet file. I tried installing it several times, and the same think kept happening. I don't remember the name of the file that it couldn't unpack, but I can look it up this evening if need be. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix this?

Hello,

I am trying to install microsoft visual studios express on my Toshiba laptop running on Windows 7 Home Premium x64, but when I download the installer and start it, I only see the visual express logo and then no screen appears (the program is running and I can even click things, as in, my mouse hoovers over them and when clicking I get terms of use in my browser, but no screen is produced).

After a bit of searching, I think there may be two possible problems causing this:

- When running windows update, two updates fail to install: KB2922229 and KB2871997. I read somewhere that these updates have been withdrawn by microsoft though.

- I encountered similar problems when trying to use Qt (an error was produced that OpenGL 2.0 was not supported); maybe the graphic card driver is not up to date (Intel HD Graphic Family - date 4-4-2011); however, if I try to search for new updates through the configuration screen, no updates are found; if I try to search for new updates through the Intel website, it redirects me to my laptop manufacturer (Toshiba); there I don't find updates either.

That's as far as I got, and I am completely stuck. Thank you for any help, let me know if you require more information about my system.

A:Problem installing Microsoft Visual Studios Express

Hi Scipio, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Did you try with both installation methods, the downloadable installer and the ISO file? If you tried with the regular installer, I recommend you to try the ISO. Download ISO, mount it as a virtual DVD drive or burn to a DVD or Flash drive and try installing from it.

For some reason, when I try to install Visual Studio 6.0, I encounter an error that states that "acmboot.exe is damaged". Is there a way to fix this problem, or do I need to get my install disc for this program replaced?

Thank you.

A:Issue with installing Visual Studio 6.0

Found this solution elsewhere for you:1. make a copy of your installation cd in your hard drive2. make a copy of the setup/VS98ENT.STF and name it acmsetup.STF3. copy entire content of setup/ to previous folder (the one that has acmboot.exe file)4. modify acmsetup.stf with acost.exe as you require and save it.5. run acmsetup.exe instead of setup (the one that's on the same path as acmboot.exe)6. voala, that's it, your visual studio 6.0 will be installed.

Everytime I apply a themepack, t either doesn't fully apply, I get some kind of weird glitch, or a combination of both such as this:

I'm wondering if there's something I'm doing wrong. I follow the directions for installation to a T, have the uxthemepatcher thing applied and have aeroglass running...nothing seems to work, and I can't seem to find any similar cases on the web (probably for lack of term aside from "glitchy" or "buggy" to specify the issue with lol). Any help?
EDIT: Also, this, or something similar, seems to happen with EVERY custom theme I try to apply...

A:Win 8.1 Having an issue with installing Visual Styles

First, ditch the UXTheme patcher whether you got it from UxStyle or Syssel dot net, neither one works very well with Windows 7 , 8 or 8.1, however Windows X Live has taken the UXTheme patcher and ran with it and it also has aeroglass built in, it works real well, you can get it here : UXTheme Multi-Patcher - Custom theme patch for Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1 using UxStyle's memory patchingWindows X's Live

After installing it, reboot, then apply your theme.

Also looks like you have AeroGlass installed incorrectly, make sure that it is installed in your root (C:\) directory.

Can i skip installing MS Visual C++2005 Kb246715 and use only MS Visual C++ 2008 9.0.37029.4148?

What are the advantage of MS Visual C++ 2005?

A:MS Visual C++2005 and MS Visual C++2008

My experience...certain programs need/install these and various versions of MS NET Framework.

If you want to read up on the specifics for these programs...please use Google.

I can't tell you either, I just allow them to be installed and then forget about them, considering them a fundamental part of either Windows or some MS program I have installed.

Ok, previously to get something from a database to a variable in a web based app the code went something like this:
DataAdapter.Fill(Dataset1)

after the dataset had been filled in this way a variable could be set by

variablex=dataset.tables(0).rows(0).items(0)
Now, after converting the project and all associtated files I've got SQLDataSource to use.

So, after lots of fruitless searching I'm asking just how the above statement translates to work as a means of retrieving a field from an SQLDataSource?
