Cannot access Southwest Airlines

Q: Cannot access Southwest Airlines

For some reason I cannot access southwest.com - on any of the three computers I own. At home these three computers access the internet via a wireless modem that connects with the comcast host. When I travel with either laptop the same problem happens. It also happens using Firefox. When I attempt to open southwest.com I get a connecting message and it will grind away for a half-hour or so before finally timing out. Sometimes the southwest site will partially open. I have tried deleting cookies, but that doesn't help. Any suggestions.

Preferred Solution: Cannot access Southwest Airlines

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

You might have SW on your banned URL list. Check to see if that connects.

Several Days ago I encountered a problem when clicking on a link in an e-mail from Southwest Airlines. When I attempted to view a flight, the browser would freeze forcing me to restart. I called Southwest and they confirmed they were working on the problem. It was later fixed. But I'm still having the same issues. I have cleared my cache and cookies to no avail. This is the only web site that is causing this problem. Southwest says it's my computer's fault. Can someone help?

I was unable to find any info on this issue, and couldn't find where my pc was getting the instruction to connect. The only thing I was able to do was to block the site in my router. Hello, I'm sure this is old news, but I ran this AA Airline crap and before I knew it was a virus the damage was already done. I killed the computer as soon as I realized trouble and now all I get when I try to start it is "error reading OS". I can't get it to even show a safe mode option with F8. I can get to bios (F2) and boot (F12) but that is it. Any help would be appreciated as I am at a loss. Thanks. Robert.

I stumbled on new baggage rules for lithium batteries on airlines. (haven't seen this announced before.)
Spare lithium batteries can not be carried in checked luggage. Only lithium batteries installed in equipment can be in checked baggage.
Spare lithium batteries are allowed in carry-on baggage.

These strange rules will cause your spare lithium camera batteries to be discarded after you check luggage without you being notified. Those are expensive and hard to replace when touring.

A family member of mine was just recently infected with a virus that they got from a fake American Airlines email.  Since they already deleted the email, I cannot paste here what the content was exactly but it seemed like a regular ticket confirmation email.  The only thing that was off was that it included a line saying "in order to use your ticket now, please download the attachment".  As you may have guessed, they actually downloaded the attachment and executed the file inside which was named something like ticket.exe.
I'm not sure what the virus does exactly, but after a few minutes, Mcafee caught it, but it notified us that the computer had to restart in order to fix the problem.  I booted into safe mode with networking, but things seemed to be in working order.  When I googled the virus, I heard it was supposed to black out your desktop and erase your program icons from the start menu, but this doesn't seem to be the case here.  After a few more minutes, Mcafee's real-time scan disabled itself and I'm unable to turn it back on.
The computer is running Windows 7, 64-bit ultimate.  Let me know if you need more information, otherwise I'll update with any new problems as they come up.
Thanks for all your help!

Air travel has become one of the most convenient and cheap means of transportation nowadays. Most of us prefer to book flights for journeys that would take up almost twice our time if we traveled by other means for the same distance. Booking flights has also
become an easier task nowadays than it was before.

There are various ways to book a flight ticket. We can do it ourselves or let others do it for us. We can make the booking online, through a travel agency, etc.

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 Intel Pentium running Windows XP  sp3 and have been getting tons of junk mail. I ran Avast, malware bytes &spybot. Nothing found. So I started looking through the Dell help on my computer. I'm not as savvy as I'd like to be and while trying to fix the issue myself I did something that I shouldn't have. First, I tried system restore to go back to a later date but it wouldn't let me no mater which date I tried. Then,I followed a suggestion regarding the registries. HUGE mistake! Now my computer is stuck in a boot loop. I obviously need to repopulate my hives but have no idea how. When the computer starts the Windows XP logo pops up. Then a box pops up saying lsass.exe access denied a proccess has requested access to an object, but has not been granted those access rights. When I click ok It restarts. The Dell logo pops up then the Windows XP logo and then the access denied again. Ive tried to start in last known good configuration. Safe mode. System restore. But, i keep ending back in the loop. So, I tried ordering some disks that I thought may be able to help while I've been reading through threads for information. I don't have any of the original software for this cop, I purchased it used a few years ago. But, I purchased a Knoppix 7.6.1., and system rescue from same CO, & 2 CDs off eBay Windows XP 64 bit & 32 bit as I wasn't sure which was the one I might need. A:lsass.exe Access Denied a process has requested access to an object, but has not been granted those access rights

Windows XP has reached end of life 2 years ago... It is an insecure Operating System and should no longer be used especially online.
The Dimension 2400 is weak hardware (Pentium 4 Processor, IDE hard drive, DDR RAM) from 2003! so 13 years old! Its not worthwhile running a modern Operating System on it and below minimum system requirements.
If on a budget you are best to buy a second hand OptiPlex 780 with a Windows 7 OEM license (which can be used for a free Windows 10 upgrade).

Good morning,I have a system that has had numerous issues, mainly virus related. I have cleaned the system, and show no virus activity... but I'm still having issues.Late last week the system was stuck in a loop, it wouldn't boot to Windows at all (no safe mode, no normal mode). I resorted to a Windows repair from the install disk. It worked... to a certain degree. I am now able to get into Windows, but can not open IE and I can not install a display driver.I am unable to access Windows Update, but was able to set automatic updates to install lots of updates including SP3, but I am still unable to make any changes.Initially when I attempted to open IE I would get a window saying that IE had to close instantly. I attempted to reinstall IE, and I attempted to install a newer version of IE. Neither worked. If I chose to install the updates with the install I would get an access denied error, if I chose not to install the updates with the install it would look like it worked, but now when I click on IE I get "Error loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\inetcpl.cpl. The operating system cannot run %1"In device manager, I have no drivers installed on my display adapter. If I try to update it, it looks like it's going to install... but then I get "Cannot install the hardware. Access is Denied".Any assistance or insight into this would be appreciated.

A:Unable to access IE, access denied when updating display drivers, no windows update

On any system with a number of issues...it's often better to do a clean install to wipe the slate clean, rather than hope that you have patched all known and unknown issues, IMO.

Whenever I try to open a PDF file, I get the message that there is a problem with my Adobe Acrobat Reader. After clicking OK, I keep getting this message:

Windows cannot access the specific device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

which is under the heading of:

C:\Documents and Settings\Alfio\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\5JII7HDM?

The letters & numbers at the end (after "Content.IE5\" are not always the same.

I've installed and uninstalled the newest version of Acrobat, but still get the same result.

Someone suggested using a different program instead of Adobe's, which I will probably do, but I'm more concerned with the idea that the problem is related to my registry.

I also cannot download the Adobe Flash Player, so maybe it is just an issue with Adobe programs on my computer, but this only started happening after I had to get rid of some viruses on my computer. Everything else seems to be fine, with no more virus problems, but I don't know how to go about dealing with this permission issue.

Thank you.

Shortly have recent changes (stated above) the issue started with 5 users in parent domain.  After existing user logs in applications like  windows explorer, internet explore, will error with  "windows cannot access the specified
device, path or file. you may not have the appropriate permission to access the item".  Also, other applications will not run as they are attempting to resister OCX file and DLLs.  cannot access computer management even after granting affected
user local admin rights.  This issue has now transcended to child domain and is affecting at the moment only 1 existing user.
Unaffected users are able to login to same test computer and run applications without issue.
Clearly a domain permission problem with the user account, but not sure how to proceed.
For testing I gave affected users domain admin rights and the issue goes away.  Remove domain admin rights and the issue returns for the user.
Any ideas?

So today I was working on my computer, my norton antivirus expired and so I bought a new one. Well it wouldn't renew my subscription so I read on a website that you need to clear norton out of your registry. So I followed the directions and ever since I did that when I open a webpage it goes to a screen that says:

The requested URL could not be retrieved

The following error was encountered:

- Cache Access Denied

Access control configuration prevents this request.

On top of that I get a similar message when I try to run live update. I have the computer hooked up to a linksys router with high speed internet. Please help.

A:Messed up computer and cannot access internet, page says cache access denied

Hmm, that's a good one. Try reinstalling IE or Firefox, whatever internet software you use. You might have inadvertently deleted an application cache file which the application needs.

Only other thing to do is boot into safe mode and select last know good boot.

I have a serious problem with my home PC - infected with something
Here are my problems -
At startup last night a bunch of "virus alerts" came up and I noticed
I have missing programs on my desktop. If I go into
"Start" - I can't even see or go into "all programs" or "find" or "search" or "run" etc...
I can't go into or even see my control box either. Everything is missing on the lower
right "box" when hitting "start".
If I hit control/alt/delete to access my taskbar manager - it says
something like "administrator has disabled task manager"
Windows Automatic update is screwed up also -won't let me change settings.
I rebooted in safe mode and I had to pick between two users -
administrator and M ( I assumed that was for mike/me) and under
the M user in safe mode I still have missing programs (like c.cleaner etc..)
and I can't do much. Not sure if this "safe mode" is really safe.
So, I rebooted in safe mode to administrator and that
seemed normal -but I couldn't access the internet.

I am running Windows XP and use Internet Explorer.
I have Spygate (firewall) and AVG antivirus - both free versions.
I can get on the internet (IE), but I get extra pop ups and websites along with
what I request.
I ran the AVG scan last night- and after 2+ hours and finding some
trojans, tracking cookies etc... and getting rid or quarantining them, I still have serious issue... Read more

I've developed a database in Access 2010 and am using the Navigation Form for users to access the different forms and it's working very well. The problem is we still have some workers who are on Windows XP boxes with Office 2007 and the Navigation Form won't work for them. I've been asked to develop an Access 2007 Switchboard which will mimic the Navigation form so there is some continuity between them and so that once all the systems have been upgraded the users willbe familiar with the interface. I easily designed a form with the look or the Navigation Form but haven't been able to figure out how to handle opening the different subforms on the one main form. Is it possible to place an Unbound Frame on the form and with a click of a button open a subform in the Frame or have a button just open a subform? How would that be coded?

Thanks for your assistance

I have kinda setup a network with my computer and a laptop which has just been formatted. It now has XP service pack 2 installed and I have to enter the password and username of an account on the laptop in order to access the resources.
Now I can access the laptop using my computer, when the laptop tries to access my computer, and tries to get a file, the message on the title always comes up.

I have unchecked simple file sharing and enabled full access (read/write) on the laptop whose account Im using. But it didnt work.

When opening my computer today, I have noticed a message about migration and program controls and some information about windows NT and windows 3.x This has never popped up and am wondering if this has made any changes to my computer not the laptop.

So Is there a simple way that does not restrict the laptop from getting the resources on my computer??

I have a Dell Inspiron 545s Desktop - Intel Duo Core 2.93, 6gb RAM, 720gb HD, 64bit Windows 7

I get the message: (every time I try and open a folder on my c/drive - Can't access Windows Explorer folder on the taskbar and any other folder or file by double clicking it. I can open them by right clicking, then open)
"this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a progra or, if one is already installed, create an assocation in the Default Programs control Panel".

I can open applications. But, I can not open the folder for them lets say in c:/program files -- the only way to open them is by rightclicking, then open. If I double click, I get the above error message. (same issue with "my documents", "My pictures", etc).

Included with the above problems:
I now, can not access User Accounts. When I go into Control Panel, click User Accounts.. I can not manage existing ones, nor can I "Add or remove user accounts". I click the link and nothing happens.

I have someething built into the computer called "Dell DataSafe Backup". Its a recovery partition/part of the HDD that saves all my files for a recovery. However, I can NOT access it. I click the "Dell DataSafe" in my taskbar and nothing happens..

A:Can't access any folder by doubleclicking, can't access user accounts or Dell Backup

MS Support suggested:
I tried doing a registry fix:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

after saving the above file as 'exe.reg', I went to CMD prompt and typed: reg import exe.reg

I also saved above file as (by another suggestion): and ran a file called: vista-7-fixexe.reg , then CMD Prompt: reg import vista-7-fixexe.reg both did not work..

tried another suggestion in the CMD Prompt: "assoc.exe=exefile" but have no idea what this was for or what it did..As I have no idea what the above did or did not do..

(Some recent installs: Some updates including Service Pack 1. Some updates to applications I use as well..)

You need to repair the boot files. When you attempted to install the other os, it overwrote the boot files.
Since you have a 1TG drive, I am going to assume win10 is installed on a mbr type drive.

One word of advise. Before doing anything like this in the future, make an image backup of your system drive. If something goes wrong, it takes a few min to restore the image and you are right back where you were before messing with the system.Click to expand...

I hope I am not contravening protocol by piggy-backing my own issue onto "jecksneedshelp" original enquiry? His problem seems so similar to mine although reached by slightly differing paths. A few days ago on a whim I thought what a jolly idea it was to dual boot my humble ancient home computer. So I happily partitioned my hard drive and using a disk given away free on the front of a magazine installed Ubuntu 16.10. Although all evidence may point out the opposite I am not incapable of occasional intelligent thought, I checked that Ubuntu is one of the more user-friendly distros. Not true! Way to much like hard work, give me back my windows blankie. Ah the internet! What an interesting age we live in, here is a place where at any given moment you can dismiss 90% of everything you experience as untrue and the other 10% as downright calumnies! Hi, i am a newbie when it comes to Windows networking particularly Internet Connection Sharing (ICS). A week ago i turned my Win 7 HP Laptop into wireless router which is on EVDO 3G dial up using the windows (ICS) to connect my second Win 7 Dell laptop which was successful.
Unfortunately, i ran out of data and now that i have recharged my Evdo 3G dial up modem hoping to continue browsing on both laptops, the Dell laptop which in this case is the client is showing connection signal but each time i tried to connect, this error will come up- Access type : No Internet access along with the dreaded yellow triangle alert on the system tray.

Although when i plug the modem directly to the Dell laptop, it does browse smoothly.

I have Google and read almost everything concerning this online including this forum but i have not come across a solution that is peculiar to mine.

Please what can i do to resolve this challenge?

PS: I have disabled both Windows firewall and AVG still the lack of connection still remains.

Please someone should try to assist and if i need to offer more information let me know.

Hi,Ok, for the past few days my system has been giving me grief. I made the mistake of clicking on a file uploaded to RapidShare and after downloading it, the file disappeared in the blink of an eye (I kid you not). So I downloaded it again and clicked on the file through the download manager and it disappeared again. Weird. I also noticed when the computer is just idle (when I'm not using it) the IE browser would pop up on it's own with two windows of ads. Now, IE is on my system but I don't use it - I am a faithful Firefox user at the moment. Anyway, I strongly believe that RapidShare file is the problem. But it could be something else I guess. Come to think about it, it might be something else because I also clicked on a four JPG images from an email a client of mine sent me (I think by mistake though) and the image wouldn't open either for some strange reason. I've never had a problem opening up JPG files before.I have also downloaded and installed Spybot, Spywareblaster, and TrendMicro software. SpywareBlaster is actually working. But the other two I get the message when attempting to open them: Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. Search & destroy\spybotsd. What they heck does that mean? Furthermore, I turned on my Windows Firewall some minutes ago. I use Windows XP SVPack 3.Moreover, I have done everything outlined on the "Preparation Guide for use before posting about your poten... Read more

Hope someone can help me.

Something happened to my hard drive, and it ran checkdisk, but I guess could not repair it, it says there is not enough space to repair it. There was about 12gb free on the drive, it was a 500gb drive.

The drive is NFTS.

It is not my boot drive, just one of my 500gb data drives, music actually.

When I ran FileScavenger on the drive all the files are there, and when I recovered some to another drive they were fine. There are 27000 files on it. I could transfer all the files off the drive, but that would be a lot of work, take a lot of time, and I would have to buy another drive to put them on.

So the data is there and intact, just for some reason it cannot be "seen".

I assume this is file structure table thing issue (pardon my technical jargon ) . MBR? FAT? not sure exactly.

Is there a way to rebuild it so that the data can be seen again? or do I have to do the transfer dance?

Thanks in advance.

A:Lost access to data on hard drive in Windows - how to get access back?

You will probably have to do the "transfer" dance, and reformat the drive. Chances are good that the drive is ok. The Master Boot Record (MBR) may be corrupted. There are utilities out there that can repair the MBR without destroying data

If I try to go to Control Panel, explorer.exe closes and re-opens for no apparent reason.

I have a series of 7 forms which allow users to select various options and complete some computation in the DB. The whole process takes no more than 3 mins.

However, some users will go to Form 3, then exit Access. And they will forget which Form to continue from.

To prevent such a problem, I thought of writing some code to prevent the user from exiting Access till they have completed all 7 forms.

I would appreciate if anyone can advise if this can be done and how to do it.
