M93z All-in-One (ThinkCentre) Touch screen driver missing after Win 10 update

Q: M93z All-in-One (ThinkCentre) Touch screen driver missing after Win 10 update

After a Win 10 update my hid compliant touch screen driver is missing from device manager and getting an error 45 not connected when it was there. Now I can't find it in hidden or visible Human Interface Devices at all. Lenovo update and Windows scan can't find it or update it and say I have all the drivers but I clearly don't. Where do I download it and get the Touch interface and functionality back? I've tried many things but no system restore won't even get me back there...

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Brand new AIO, touch screen worked great under Windows 8.  Stopped working after upgrade to 8.1.  Lenovo phone support of no help.  They say, "Reinstall Windows and delete all your data and don't upgrade to 8.1!!!"  LOL, really?  When my customer said no, they said, we will send a tech out to "REPLACE the SCREEN!!!"  LOL  Wow!! Problems I've found that keep reverting are:1 - Services, "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service" keeps reverting back to "Manual" startup and "not running" after reboots.  (after I've changed it to "automatic" )2 - Registry show "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TabletInputServices" Start key keeps reverting back to 3 (manual) after I changed it to 2 (automatic)3 - Under Device Manager, Many hidden Human Interface devices are grayed out as not connected.4 - Customer is not happy and Synnex is out of stock and can't replace it promptly.  This is really looking bad for Lenovo.  Their phone support hasn't a clue how to fix this problem! Anyone else have this problem?  Anyone actually succcessfully fixed this problem? type: 10ACModel: 0011US Thanks!

Every now and then, the screen for my M93Z will become very fuzzy and the colours will skew towards green(ish). Sometimes, temporarily shutting off the screen fixes the issue, sometimes even switching between programs helps (if say one program was a full screen isntance and then the screen goes completely black while switching). Any idea how I can solve this? I am wondering if it's an overheating issue, a graphics issue, or a driver issue... Next time it happens I will take a picture and try to upload it on to here... I tried to screen shot it when it happened but the screenshot picture looks normal :/

So it is an all-in-one, so that is already 1 monitor. On top of that I would like to add 2 more 27" monitors, making a total of 3. Is that possible? I tried it, but it doesn't recognize the 3rd. I think it might be the outlets that are screwy. The VGA doesn't seem to work well.

We recently purchased 5 ThinkCentre M93z's to complement the 100+ E93z's that we currenlty use in our school district cafeterias. These computers have Windows 7 OS and the only other software we install is Meals Plus software to track students and food purchases. These computers have a Genovation Mini-Terminal model 905-S version 7.20 keypad attached that can either scan a student's ID  card or they can punch in their student ID number to purchase their meals and we install the latest driver for that device. With all 5 of the M93z's we purchased the computers will hang at the Lenovo splash screen (most common) or hang at the Windows Startup screen at the point when you first start to see the colored balls appear. It will stay stuck at this point until you unplug the keypad at which point it will finish booting up.  At point you can plug the device in and use it but once you restart it it will hang up again.  This happened no matter which USB port you use (two on the side or the four on the back). We have never had any issue with the E93z computers.  I have updated the bios. I have removed and reinstalled the lastest USB drivers for this computer.  The bios is set to start up from the hard drive. USB is not one of the startup options. It conistently does this with all 5 of our M93z's. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I've had the ThinkCentre M93 since July 2014. I run it constantly and have only shut it down a dozen times. When I first went to restart the computer, it only got as far as the Lenovo splash page. It would freeze, I would hold the power-on button for seven seconds, it would shut down. Doing this three or four times, and finally it would start windows and I could use the pc again. Suffice it to say, because of this problem, I rarely turn off the machine.A couple of times I used the OS Recovery Disc that I got with the pc purchase. It has helped a few times. But I feel like there is no true solution yet. Everything I try that works is really just luck. Anyone else having this issue? And found a solution yet? Thanks.

After an update from Windows 8 to Windows 10, my touch screen stopped working.  Clearly this is a very common problem that has afflicted countless Windows users who did the same thing.  Does HP have a solution for reinstalling HID- Compliant Touch Screen driver?  There's tons of reported fixes on the Internet but the few that looked reasonably safe to me, haven't worked and "HID - Complaint Touch Screen" is no where to be found in Device Manager as it used to be. On a side note, I have another identical HP notebook that survived the upgrade and works fine. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.  TIA

I installed Windows Updates about a week ago. After my laptop restarted following the download the touch screen stopped working.  I followed the Troubleshooting instruction which seemed to be on track, until it said to uninstall the driver then restart the PC to force the touchscreen to reinstall.  There was no touchscreen driver to Uninstall and restarting the computer didn't force one to appear.  I think I might need to reinstall the driver, but I don't know what driver I had in the first place or where to install it. I called Microsoft support and they informed me I would need to reinstall the driver from HP.  Problem is, that I don't know where the driver is located.

Hi, we have currently a lot of problems with touch screen Windows 10 pro 64bit. ThinkCentre M800zModel# 10ETCT01WW1. Cold start: touch screen mostly working or sometimes only for a short time. 2. Warm start: 2 - 10 rings are appearing on the screen, always some in the corners, and some spread over the middle area. Afterwards mouse cursor is jumping to the left upper corner and during movement always jumping betweencurrent position and upper left corner. Working with mouse is getting impossible after the rings are appearing. Programs are starting from ghost hand, taskbar is also not hiding even if there is no app in focus, ghost events were executed and others made won't be executed. It seems like the calibration programs keeps hanging and is not able to be started .... 3. Also the graphic driver is making troubles and showing the old Vista error, "graphic driver is not working and will be restored ..." I'm clueless right now what else we can do to solve these issues. We currently disabled touch screen, but it's really not helping a lot, because we want to use the touch screen when it's included. Has somebody an idea what we can change except all driver and tools updates ?

I have a hp pavilion touchsmart 15-n029so. Unfortunately my touch screen is defect, so 5-6 points on the screen is constant active. Until recently I managed to disable the driver for only the touch driver (not the screen) through device manager, but then a lately update for windows 10 activated the driver again. So now the 5-6 points is constant active, and I cannot login because the screen will not focus on the login field.  This means I cannot login to windows 10. I have also tried to start safe mode (turning off computer repeatly, so it starts up in safe mode), but here the touch screen driver is also active.  How can I disable the touch screen driver without login into windows 10?

A:Touch not working missing driver

Hello Kaytasia, The touch is dependent on the hardware and the drivers are generic.  1. Open device manager2. HID devices drop down3. Check for hid touch screen driver. 4. Now, if the driver not available, ( under the view tab of device manager, click show hidden devices)5. If the HID touch driver is greyed out on list, right click and uninstall it. 6. Restart the system. Now, if the touch does not work, HP recommends system recovery.  Steps will be  :1) Turn off and then turn on the computer and repeatedly keep tapping the F11 key, about once every second, until the first screen appears, then follow these instructions: ****Note ( check if the touch works for any of these options ,on the f11 screen) If the touch does not work, contact the HP support at  : http://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA3G42 Number : 1800-474-6836    2) "Choose an Option" screen appears. >Click Troubleshoot.3) On the Troubleshoot screen, click Recovery Manager. Recovery Manager opens.4) On the OS selection screen, click your operating system windows 10.Recovery Manager opens5)Under "I need help immediately" , click System Recovery /or/Minimize image recovery6) When System Recovery prompts you to back up your files. If you have already backed up personal files or you do not want to back up personal files, select Recover without backing up your files, then click Next. Hi friendsStep 1. The first, you need to check if your Touchscreen has been disabled or the drivers need to be installedStep 2. In Device Manager, check the Compliant Touch screen settingsStep 3. Type in Device Manager in the search box, press enterStep 4. when it appears as an option then click Device Manager. You might be asked for an admin password or to confirm your choice.Step 5. Now Device manager window will appear.Step 6. Scroll down to HID and expand tree by clicking on arrow head to the left of HID. If there is a red cross next to the entry, right click on it and select the enable option.
