Can I use SIM card from x230 with x260?

Q: Can I use SIM card from x230 with x260?

I have an older ThinkPad x230 with a factory-installed Sierra Wireless MC7700-Gobi 4000 for AT&T LTE & HPSA+ adapter and SIM Card for AT&T LTE. I now have a new ThinkPad x260 with a factory-installed Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A (Sierra Wireless EM7455). There was no option to specify a SIM card like last time. Can I just remove the SIM card from the older x230 and put it in the newer x260? Or will I need a different SIM card?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hellox260 supports micro SIM card while x230 supports standard sized SIM card. Of course, you know these cards' sizes are incompatible.

Hello, I bought a new Thinkpad X260 with windows 10. But i am facing a problem with the Ethernet card. The internet connection is no stable. For example, the response for a ping in the local network can take between 1ms, 800 ms or even no answer. We already check our network and it is working correctly. In fact the computer works fine in the docking station or with the WLAN interface and always getiing an answer for a ping in less than 2ms.I already updated the driver ethernet driver to the newest version. Do you have some suggestions that can be helpful? Thanks Cris

Hi folks! I hope to get some help here.I have a X230 with latest BIOS and bought a 256GB SDHC card, to extend space "a bit". Sometimes the transfers of some GiB seem to take ages, and it looks like the controller doesn't report the real speed. Is there any update to the firmware of the card reader? I'm using a pretty recent Linux distro based on Arch. I tried with differently formatted SDHC card... Thanks David

Have just bought an express card for my X230. When I put it in the express card slot of my X230, It fell a bit unsmooth and harsh. As I remember the same express card slot on my old HP was smoother and had an actuation point where you have to push harder to hear a click sound and push again to release the card then take it out of the slot, I found the express card slot on my X230 very weird. There is no said actuation point or any click sound, the card just slid in the slot until it reached the connector (the end of the slot). This process on the X230 was very rough that i even had to push the card very hard for it to reach the connector. But still, there was no click sound or anything indicating the card had been properly installed. Here are several images to let you see the situation clearly:  Notice how deep the the card sits in the slot. A better view. I have to sorry for the crappy quality of the photos since they were taken from my cheap phone. I would like to ask if this situation is normal and if my express card slot is broken. How is your X230's express card slot?Deeply appreciate your help.

Hi, I have a ThinkPad X230, which originally had Windows 7 installed on it.  When I accepted the upgrade to Windows 10, everything worked fine apart from one thing:  the built-in SD Card reader. When I insert an SD card into the reader, the computer eventually recognizes it as a SD card, but when I click on it I get the following message: "D:\ is not accessible.  A device attached to the system is not functioning." I have tried all kinds of things to get it to work, based on various other posts on this forum.  For example installing new drivers from Lenovo website, installing them in Compatibility Mode etc.  But none of these have fixed the issue.  If I right-click on the SD Card icon for my D: drive, and select Properties, it doesn't detect any used space or any free space. If I open Device Manager when there is a SD card inserted, I see "Ricoh SD Disk Device" under the section entitled "Disk Drives", and I see "Ricoh PCIe SD/MMC Host Controller" under the section entitled "Memory technology devices".  I also see " D:\" under the section entitled "Portable Devices". I updated my laptop's BIOS not long ago.  I have BIOS version 2.65. I have an mSATA card (about 120GB) for Windows OS and applications, and a separate 500GB traditional hard drive for my Data.  I have had this mSATA / HDD configuration since the very beginning. Does anybody have any idea what I need to do to fix this problem... Hello everyone !- sorry but the english is no my first lang -I installed (replace) a Intel Advanced-N WiMAX 6250 in my laptop X230 running under Windows 10, but the system no recognise the card.I ve allready tried :-intall the card driver-a BIOS update-a motherboard diagnostic (to check if any problem in the Pci ports or in the motherboard itself)-a thinkvantage system update-checking on BIOS if the network cards appears (actually says disable, and no way to "enable it")-check if the card (hardware) was propely connected into the PCI port. it seems to me that the PCIe  is no working but why it could happens? I used to think that my laptop  had no wireless adapter so i bought one, when I installed it I realised that it was one (a native Realtek) ! i ve put it anyway but nothing changed.. ps . i bought this laptop almost new and without warranty (i guess). any idea ?cheers !Memo

A:my x230 cannot recognise the wireless card adapter...

Hello, memodialYou wrote:> checking on BIOS if the network cards appears (actually says disable, and no way to "enable it")This is a key feature to troubleshoot IMHO.What settings do you mean? WirelessLAN Access or WiMAX Access? WiMAX features don't influence to the WLAN (WiFi) ones, they utilize the different interfaces for data, but the card might be controlled (power on/off) via the single bus lane #20 (I'm not sure though). To enable BIOS Settings changes check out the LockBIOS Setting.Make sure wireless radios switch is enabled (on the laptop onboard).Do you see unknown devices in the Device Manager? For devices w/out drivers installed they might be in the Other Devices category. There might be a problem with drivers as Intel doesn't provide them for this card and win10. What drivers did you install?

I had problems with the old wifi card on my x230 so I decided to change it. The new model is a Intel Centrino N 6205, white-listed in the BIOS and compatible with the system. I did follow all the steps as described in the hardware maintenance manual, reassembled the whole thing and when I tried to start it again, nothing happened. The power light briefly flashes but that's it. I tried reinstalling the old card (no effect), pressing the power button for 30 seconds and unplugging the CMOS battery (no effect). What is wrong here?

Hello there,  Few days ago,  i bought Lenovo ThinkPad x230!  ( So far i love it! It's awesome !!!! ) After using it for few days i found out that you can get SIM card for it, and use mobile broadband on it. I loved that idea, so i went out and i got new SIM card for my laptop.  After inserting it i found out that my ThinkPad doesn't have WWAN Card installed! SO RIP !?   I googled and googled and googled....and i found list of WWAN Cards that are compatible with my Thinkpad List of WWAN Cards , and then i found a video Youtube Video in which i learned how to install WWAN Card in my Thinkpad!  Then i went to a website in my country that sells new/used PC parts... and i found this card " F5521 ", and i bought it.... ( Now on the card i bought, it says " F5521gw"...is that fine or ? ) Guess what happened? I installed it, i tried booting the laptop, and it showed me this : 1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the miniPCI network card. (03f0/3a1d) . I powered off and removed it...and i turned on my laptop normally.... Now, what can i do, in order to use this card? ( I found a bunch of "Hacks" online, but i didn't want to risk anything...so that is why i am asking here... i will post pictures of the WWAN card....if that will help... ) Please help me!

A:Unauthorized network card (03f0/3a1d) -Thinkpad x230

Welcome to the CommunityIndeed, F5521 is one of the wwan modems that x230 supports. But the specific modem you have is for HP systems, not Lenovo ones. So, x230 doesn't work with this modem with error you've faced. Replace it by x230' supported modem with Lenovo p/n (FRU).

So I'm wondering if anyone knows if the X260 has an internal M2 ssd slot. If i get one I'd like to get one with the standard hard drive to save cost, then get an internal M2 ssd for OS/Apps drive.

I'm not finding much info about it.

Hi ! Just bought a thinkpad x260.I had another laptop before where Debian was already installed. So i took its SSD and put it in my x260.Then I've configured the bios, deactivated secure boot, verified that UEFI boot is enable and changed boot order to boot on the SSD.I started the computer, and nothing.Like there is nothing on the SSD. So, I don't know that I can do.The .efi file is stored here : /boot/efi/EFI/debian/grubx64.efi I don't know where the bios search for an EFI file, or if I can change the place where it searches for it. Does anybody here have any clue ?Not sure if the bios is configured well. Thank you !

A:X260 debian

If you want to boot from EFI then you gota reinstall your debain os since when installing debain in legacy mode it will only work in legacy mode so to get it to work in UEFI mode then you gota reinstall debain under UEFI mode then it will boot, there might be another way to solve it but idk if it's the right way todo it.

Hi, I have a question and I hope some gurus here could help me out. I bought a x260 last year from Amazon. Warranty check said I have 800+ days left in depot option. I am running Linux and yesterday when I closed the lid, which is the normal way I want my laptop to sleep, and when I opened the lid as usual, it just stayed in sleep mode. Pressing power button or Fn + 4 did not bring the computer back. So I had to forcefully press and hold the power button for a couple of sec to turn it off. Then turning it on does not boot. Here is the video of how it is right now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRK9TUffYiL I tried to create a bootable USB and boot from it. The same result like in the video. Thank you,

Hi all,  Bit of background first. I had a T440 laptop which has served me fine for a couple of years. I have two docks for it, one in the office with a dual monitor set-up and one at home with a 34" ultrawide. The T440 worked on both no issues. However, I've just been upgraded to the X260, and whilst it works in the dock in the office no problem, I can't get it to place nice with the dock at home and the ultrawide monitor!  I has some success last night, I got a pickture on the screen of the ultrawide but at the laptops native resolution, when I tried to change it to 3440 x 1440 the screen went black and I couldnt get it back. After that I've not been able to get a picture back on the screen. If I sit the x260 in the dock with the lid open and start it up, when I get to the desktiop and go into the resolution settings it see's the ultrawide monitor, but I can't get anything to display on it! Does anyone have any ideas how I can get it to work?? Thanks

Foreground windows are fine, but the background has this faint flicker to it -- almost like im seeing the refresh rate. I've verified that the display is running 1920x1080 60hz in each of the operating systems.  Additionally, I see it in the boot options menu (F12) on startup when it is happening.  The strange thing is that it seems to do it sometimes, and sometimes it does not. An intermittent problem Has anyone else experienced or solved this problem?

Anyone know if this could be used, if it will simply downclock to the 2133 speed or actually run at 2400?

I'm upgrading from a X220, and the memory spec'd for it was DDR3-1333, but when you put DDR3-1600 it actually ran at 1600.

We are running a deployment server with MDT 2013 Update 2 and WDS to push out the images. The image is a Windows 10 pro 64 image and is currently PXE booting and working fine on the Lenovo X240, X250, M73p and M97. However we have recently purchased a batch of X260's and in a similar manner loaded the Windows 10 drivers into the Winpe directory to be injected on PXE boot. This is not working at all and the minute the X260 is PXE booted it gives a PXE-E61 Media test failure check cable error. We have tried several X260s new out of the box to rule out hardware failure or a dodgy device and it's connected to the same cables and infrastructure that the other models which is working successfully uses. I have tried injecting Windows 7 64 and Windows 8 64 ethernet drivers as well (all from the SCCM packages on the Lenovo site for the X260) and none of them work. The bios hasn't been altered in any way and is set to boot to HDD first and Network boot second, I have been testing the PXE boot by hitting enter and F12 by manual intervention. We currently have 25 of these laptops purchased and waiting to build and this is causing a major delay. If anyone could offer any suggestions that would be great.

So, I bought the laptop because many reviews and even Lenovo's website tout HUUUUGE battery life with the X260 and the 7cell battery. So I pulled the trigger and got one. Here's the article I used:http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/thinkpad-x260-full-hd-battery-life I have the 1920x1080 screen. Windows 10 reports about 9 hours of possible use time.  I haven't really loaded anything special on Windows 10 yet which would even chew into the battery life. What's going on here? NOTE: I haven't tested actual use time to see if Windows resets or cleans up the amount of life remaining. I plan to exhaust the battery to see how long it really does go.. but wanted to get some opinions if I have maybe a problem system / battery. Thanks.

Unlike previous models, the dimensions of the x260 lcd panel size vary. So if you order a wrong lcd panel,  you should replace the lcd bezel, cable, lid etc.
My lcd panel fru is 04X03 and the dimensions are 290mm x 179mm.

What model should I order to replace my lcd?

I have a X260 with a Samsung 850 EVO SSD installed connected to the normal SATA cable. Recently, the system ran down in hibernate or sleep mode until the battery was completely drained. The next time I started it up, Iwas presented with an immediate error after the logo of "2101 Detection error on SSD(M.2)". Booting into BIOSor UEFI diagnostics doesn't show any options for diagnosing the SSD. What is odd is there is no M.2 SSD. ?Right nowI am traveling and don't have a SATA-USB cable or another drive to try, but is there any possibility this is something other than my SSD failing completely? System does not boot. Things I have tried already: Reseating the SATA cable, Resetting BIO S to default settings, "Power Cycling" the SSD. All checks in UEFI diagnostics pass.
