Ideapad 320-IKB bios update bootable cd - need the iso

Q: Ideapad 320-IKB bios update bootable cd - need the iso

Hi All, I'm using Fedora linux. If I can find the current bios upgrade in iso format, I'm fine. My Thinkpad's upgrade page has a "bios upgrade bootable cd" option. No such option is available for my Ideapad 320-IKB. Where is it available for download? Any help appreciated. Thanks much.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,
I have Lenovo Ideapad 300-15ISK type/model 80Q700DRSC.
I want to update BIOS, so I downloaded D5CN47WW. In text file it is written that this is BIOS for my computer.
Everything seems fine but when I execute BIOS exe file it says that this is BIOS for Lenovo Paris 300 notebook!
What Paris now? I tried to google but only can find Paris in France.
I am user of Lenovo notebooks for many years (from IBM ThinkPads to this days) but when txt Readme file said
this is update for your computer, it was! This is confusing for me so I cancelled update.
Can anybody explain this mistery?
Thanks in advance

Hi.  I am trying to create a bootable USB drive to update the bios of my laptop.  When I download the ISO file from the Lenovo driver website and extract the files, there is nothing there.   Is there an issues with the file?  Or is the issue on my end?   The specific file I am looking to download is here:   http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-Yoga-Series-laptops/ThinkPad-...

I have a problem since this morning with the bios update of my xps15 9550 : No bootable devices found.
I tried some options in bios (legacy mod, secure boot off, restore settings...) but nothing runs.
The HDD seems to be detected by the bios, because he is listed In the boot sequency.
I am actually in Moscow until mid june for studies. I need a fast solution.

Hi, I installed Windows 10 on my Aspire XC-605 yesterday. I could not get the sound to work after that. I saw in another discussion that a BIOS update was recommended. So, I updated the BIOS to P11.B4. The update went fine, no errors reported. Upon rebooting, I went into the BIOS settings and loaded defaults as recommended in the README file. However, my system no longer sees a bootable hard drive. Every time I reboot, I receive this message: Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device and press a key. If I go into Advanced -> Miscellaneous in BIOS, my hard drive is definitely shown in AHCI Port2. In Boot Options, the 1st Boot Device is set to Hard Disk. But when I go into Hard Disk Drive Priority, there is nothing listed at all. Any suggestions? I have a brick right now.

Well, I'll be ... I figured it out after several maddening hours. I googled and found several similar stories for this error message, and everything seemed to be leading to me needing CSM enabled. I had noticed that the Launch CSM setting in BIOS was grayed out and set to "Never" in the BIOS. I finally realized that disabling Secure Boot allowed me to toggle the Launch CSM setting. I then set it to "Always". Everything seems to be working now.

This is a follow-up to my original 8/22/16 question. I used the helpful responses and Dell.com but could not install the first BIOS update from A04.
I obtained relevant information and BIOS update files from Dell.com. The first update, from A04 (10/17/13) to A03 (yes!, 11/20/13) can only be done using a bootable USB flash drive, not via Windows, so I made a 16GB USB drive from the XPS 8700 according to the instructions provided. Dell's instructions for booting from it to execute the A03 update file that I had added to it indicate that pressing F12 during the Dell splash logo at power-up will take me to the One Time Boot Menu where I can select the USB Storage Device option and go to a Diag C:\ prompt to run the update. But when I press F12 I get a different menu headed "Boot mode is set to: UEFI: Secure boot: ON". It has no USB Storage Device option. Every option I have tried leads only to a Windows sign-in page, not a DOS prompt. I found a reference to a similar situation at
http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/t/19469914
but it did not include a proven solution. I suspect that I might need to switch from UEFI Secure Boot to Legacy BIOS but am reluctant to do risky experiments that could brick the PC. I would be grateful for input from any community member who has used a successful procedure for updating the UEFI/BIOS to the next later edition from a bootable USB  flash drive (or safely doing jump updates from A04 directly to later edi... I also tried the other USB ports on the computer and it still didn't work. HP have released a non-working bios update utility for ProBook 4730s (though this problem seems to arise in other contexts as well) which gives you the error "there are no valid dos system files at the specified location" when trying to create a bootable usb key.  The problem is that the installer refers to FreeDOS\KERNEL.SYS under the installer root folder e.g.  C:\SWSetup\SP75859 that does not exist. This folder can be found in an earlier bios update utility pack e.g. http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5060894&swItemId=ob_121864_1&swEnvOid=405... that you can download and run, which will extract  files to the folder C:\SWSetup\sp62122 from where you can copy the FreeDos folder to C:\SWSetup\SP75859 from where it is missing.  After this the bootable usb key creation succeeds by running the FirmwareUpdate.exe application.

In the Lenovo download center I only find the * .exe file for Windows (which I do not have on the machine).

Where can I find this ISO? Or, is there a means to extract the ISO from the * .exe file?

I haven't tested all the different file systems, but it appears that it is possible to boot from only FAT(16) and FAT32 file systems in UEFI boot mode on USB flash drives on my new Dell Inspiron 7567. I spent about half an hour trying to figure out why Windows wasn't installing in UEFI mode, until I realised the laptop's BIOS was booting the drive in legacy boot mode.Could we please make it possible to boot from NTFS-formatted drives in future BIOS revisions, given that this has been the standard with most other manufacturers for a number of years?  And yes, this does matter to those of us wishing to put files >4GB on their USB boot drive. BIOS revision of the Dell is the latest at this time (v1.2.0). Thank you.

A:BIOS update required: USB bootable flash drive file system

FAT32 has been the UEFI standard.  Even the System partition on the install is FAT 32.  I don't know for sure but I believe it has to be able to run certain types of programs and cannot be NTFS..
Most places which explain how to set up a Boot USB drive for UEFI mentions it has to be FAT32.
FAT 32 formatting for USB drives is good up to 32 GB drive sizes.  Larger ones will just create a 32 GB partition.
