I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Ok so a few day's ago my friend gave me his old (working) graphic card Nvida geforce gt 240. After putting it in i downloaded drivers from nvida website and installed them, after the installation it restarted my computer and i got the Blue Screen of Death and it said MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. So i had to start it in Safe mode and un-installe the drivers and restared my PC then it worked again.
So i took out the graphic card and put my old one again installed the drivers and it worked fine.
So I downloaded BlueScreenView and it says the problem is ntoskrnl.exe (NT Kernel & System).
I did some research and found out it could be something with my RAM or Hard Drive, but I dont think this is the problem because my old card works fine.
Please help, this Graphic card that my friend gave me is much better then mine and i want to get it working.
What do u think is the problem and what should I do to fix it?

My set-up is:
CPU: Intel pentium D 935 3.20 GHz
OS: Windows XP Professional SP3
Motherboard: G41MT-S2PT (Gigabayte)
RAM: 2 GB DDR3

A:BSOD after installing driver for graphic card

The problem is older NVidia cards will not work with the newest NVidia drivers. You have to install one of their older drivers to get it to work properly. I am not sure what driver that particular card requires, BUT DonPedro could tell you because he is an expert on NVidia cards.

SO, go to this site :  http://www.k6plus.com/phpBB3/index.php?name=PNphpBB2  and make a post there asking for DonPedro's help on this matter.

When did you build this computer? Did you do a clean install of the operating system? Have you run all Windows Updates until there were no more? You should not use the Driver Disk to install drivers. Download them from your Motherboard's web site. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A78LM_LX/HelpDesk/. They will be much newer drivers. Try reinstalling your Graphics driver. I'll give you some suggestions to get a good clean install.

I am going to give you some links that will help you get a good clean install and not have any drivers you don't need that will conflict with other drivers. Download a WHQL driver from Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7 . Once you have them downloaded, uninstall you current driver from control panel. next clean up any left over drivers from following this tutorial Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling and select only ATI Display Drivers. Hi,
I have a Compac CQ42 which has an ATI Radeon 5430 as its graphics adapter. Anyhow, recently it started giving me these BSODs whenever I tried installing the video card drivers. The BSOD in question has the following error codes:

0x00000116 (0xFFFFFA8004260010, 0xFFFFFF8800439E02C, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002)

ATIKMPAG.sys - Address FFFF8800439E02C base at FFFFF8800439800, DateStamp 4b86f5ba

I have uploaded the .dmp file created by the BSOD as well. Any suggestions if this is a software issue or a hardware one?
The computer works once I go to the safemode and disable the installed ATI drivers :/

A:ATI Graphic Card Driver BSOD Error 0x00000116 ATIKMPAG.sys

Are you installing the video drivers from Compaq, or directly from AMD? If you have an OEM computer, you should always install drivers from the manufacturer. Manufacturers often do little things to the hardware/firmware for optimization/cost cutting/deliberate incompatibility that make it almost essential that you use only the manufacturer's drivers.

This is particularly true of laptops.

Hi sherif1984 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It maybe the Windows automatic update that changed previous driver , it would help if you recall the date it was working ok with the driver for a system restore to jump back .

Check current version of the video driver via device manager (right click on device for property) . It may also offer rollback driver but system restore can provide better rollback as it applies with all other drivers that may have changed along with the date.

Older drivers version are available from the support site on a different OS version .
Z500 is not listed on Win10 supported models that is why Win10 driver versions are not available.

Particular configurations of a computer model may include hardware components not compatible with Windows 10. Therefore, its upgrade to Windows 10 is not recommended.
The following listed computer models include hardware components not fully compatible with Windows 10. Therefore, upgrading these models to Windows 10 is not recommended

I just received this machine (from Costco https://www.costco.com/Lenovo-Flex-4-Series-2-in-1-Touchscreen-Laptop---Intel-Core-i7---2GB-Graphics...) in the mail and it's been a mess to get set up in regards to the graphics.  It has an integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 card and a dedicated 2GB AMD Radeon R7 M460 Graphics card.  I have two main issues: I keep getting a BSOD related to dxgmmm2.sys when the Radeon card is enabled.  I found the computer is stable and working just fine when it's disabled.  I've tried installing a new/updated driver but I have to enable the driver to do that (then the BSOD comes within seconds of the computer accessing it).  The Intel card does not output any image to the third monitor I have connected via a USB/VGA adapter.  Though the machine recognizes it and allows windows to move off into that monitor, there is no picture.  The monitor is on, connected, and works properly.  It flashes when I start up the computer and make changes to the display.  I've also done a factory reset on the monitor a couple of times to no avail. Any ideas how I can get this running correctly?

I received my IdeaPad 310-15ABR on December 1st and on December 2nd I called in a ticket and was left a little dissatisfied on the troubleshooting abilities of tech support.  I was experiencing a battery drain faster than I would expect. When unplugged I am getting maybe about 3 hours of use - this is with power saver settings activated and really only web browsing and such. No mega gaming or movies etc So when I called tech, they immedietaly told me to send back the laptop - but at my own expense which to me seems odd, why should I pay to send Lenovo my defective new machine? After getting off the phone I did my own research and found that "location" was on, so I turned it off and that bought me some time on the battery - not a lot... but enough for me to realize that I needed to test this machine out on my own for a week or two before sending it back.  So I am about to send it back, but I am wondering - how long are you getting on your battery for the same machine? I don't want to send it back if what I am getting is unfortunately the reality of what I should be getting.

I love Lenovo. Let me get this out of the way to start. I have had a Toshiba (holy crap, a terrible laptop build quality), Dell (great CS but the laptop needed a new piece of hardware about every three months. Went through at least 5 MoBos over the course of four years), then finally a Lenovo. The Lenovo was a CHAMP. I brought it everywhere and tortured it within an inch of its life and it stood the test. It stood up to ART SCHOOL, if that is not an indication of quality, I don't know what is. Hence why I bought another. And another. And now this one. I have been surprisingly gentle with this one which is why I am so aggravated by the CONSTANT grinding fan noise. This sucker is less than a year old and still in warranty. This may be fixed by a BiOS thing but considering the type of noise, I am thinking it is hardware. As the battery is sealed, I am hesitant to take this thing apart to check out the fan by hand. So, my question is: Is it possible to get a laptop bought in the USA serviced in Japan? If not, what is the part SKU for the fan so I can just install it myself? Also, a point in the direction of the BiOS/driver/whatever update that is supposed to fix this would be appreciated for the first step. And before you tell me, I know servicing my own laptop will void the warranty. I don't care. I am very good with computers and have been tearing apart and fixing laptops since I got my first one at 13. I would not date doing a fu... Read more

You would have to search to see if their is a adaptor available. I know I have bought a optical slot adaptor for a drive. But that was for a ThinkPad which I think has more options then the consumer line IdealPads. Probably your best bet is a big flash drive, or a external drive. But search third parties because you could possible buy the adaptor and crudely install a drive in the optical. So many optical drives are thin drives these days, so space may be a issues.

I've had my Windows 10 Ideapad for about a month, and have had no problems with it.  This morning, when I turned it on, I got a message saying the battery needed to be charged and showed it was down to 10%.  I turned it off and plugged it in.  After 5+ hours, it will now not boot up at all.  The little light next to the plug is on and so is the one that is the system status indicator.  Aside from those 2 lights, there is nothing - no light, no sound, nada.  I tried holding the power button down for 30+ seconds - still nothing. Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

I just purchased this new laptop a couple of days ago and love it other than one thing that is annoying the crap out of me. The screen is too dim when unplugged. It is great when plugged in, but dims quite a bit when it is not. I have the brightness at 100% for both the on battery and plugged in settings so I have no idea how they vary so much. I have it set for high performance, not power saver. The battery saver is also off. I have looked all over the internet and found no useful info.

I have a new Lenovo Ideapad 310-15abr, Windows 10, 64 bit, AMD with a Radeon 7 graphics card, with a display problem. When I unplug the power (so it's on battery), the screen dims. So I went to Power Options and changed the power plan both on and off battery so the screen is at 100 percent brightness. Didn't work. Tried a Custom Plan and then went back to a High Performance plan. I turned off Adaptive brightness; disabled the Sensor Monitoring service; updated the Graphic Card driver;disabled and then enabled the Graphic Card again. Turned off Lenovo's Power Options called Power Stretch and Conservation mode.  Also updated the AMD VGA driver.  Nothing works. Still dim when on battery. One thing that I have NOT triedit is changing the registry value by using Regedit command and changing the Feature Test Control. I didn't try it for two reasons. One is that I'm not sure what to reset it to (I've seen "ffff" as the setting and something else longer and more complicated). The other reason is that I am too much of a dumbie to be messing with registry values, basically. I've seen this question asked a couple of times, but no very definitive answers. People usually just tell you to change the Power and Sleep settings so the brightness is on 100% when On Battery.  So that answer is not necessary, but ANY OTHER ANSWERS would be welcome!  Thanks -- Ken

So before I go off and bother help and support, I just wanted to ask and see if this is the normal way my computer should be behaving.1) battery: so the battery on this isn't great, i'm usually plugged in and on low power mode just to try to make it though a single college lecture. Even just on a good day 100% to 5% (powersaver) and usiing just word, will only last about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Also, when running anything high demanding and the battery is lower than 40% not plugged in, the computer will always restart and give a kernal error and no other information. Luckily it has not been getting worse, but realistically I can only get 40 minutes of life on high performance out of this thing.2) hard drive: So not a big complaint but It says it has 1Tb hard drive space, but it only ever showed I had 891Gb on C: and 25gb on Lenovo D:not that I mind that much but I did see another complaint who said he got a small compensation when that happened to him. not that this isn't a pricy laptop to begin with and I even feel bad complaining right now when the price was so great.3) touch pad: I might be doing something wrong but these buttons on the bottom of the touch pad are just for show to me. Other than make a loud clicking noise they literally do nothing on terms of input. I just wanted to know if they are actually buttons for the touch pad? or if I'm just insane haha

On the left side of your laptop, between the combo jack and card reader, there is small button called the NOVO button (see page 6 of this manual)   With the laptop powered completely off, try pressing that button (using the tip of a pen etc.) until the laptop turns on.     If it works as expected, you laptop should load up a menu with the options to run Lenovo OneKey Recovery, enter the BIOS setup utility, or to enter the Boot menu.     If the menu loads, see if you can enter the BIOS setup utility.. and then report back.

It worked fine yesterday. I was trying to start up a game and it qouldnt load, so I just closed out and reatarted my computer. When it came back up it was just this black screen with the single white underscore. Ive tried to factory reset it every way I know how. I bought a Lenovo IdeaPad 320-15ABR two or three months ago from a Best Buy in the area, and recently I've been having issues where the computer will just freeze. Basically what happens is that I will be doing something, like watching a video or playing some game, and then after a while the computer will freeze, forcing me to shut down the computer manually by holding down the power button for a few seconds, which I know is not good for the computer. Recently, I've also had issues with the computer even freezing after a couple hours of being idle. I got this laptop so I could do work on my college assignments and also be able to get some gaming capability out of it as well, as it's better than the laptop I had initially, and I would like to get this figured out. Any help would be really appreciated.

Over the last few months (since December 2017) my IdeaPad 310 has been auto-restarting randomly.I did a hardware scan through the Lenovo Solution Center, and everything came up okay aside from the motherboard scan, which failed on the USB test. (Result code: W1B7MTXKX-JRBFMC).I am not tech savvy and my warranty has ended. This has become frustrating as I have lost lots of work. Does anyone have a similar issue or solution?Thank you!

Hello,I have a problem with conservation mode of my 320-15ABR Laptop (Ideapad) (Win 10).In practice, I can no longer turn off the conservation mode by Lenovo Companion. When I connect the charger, the battery is always connected but not charging, even if the conservation mode is turned off. I tried downloading "power and management" drivers but the situation remained the same. I also installed energy management once and it worked but then when I tried to install it again it opens a command prompt window for a few seconds without running the same commands. How can I fix it? I'm waiting for your answer.Thank you
