Preferred Solution: GOOGLE CROME & error 101

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Installation issues: Error 101

Issue
These errors occur when the Google Chrome installer is unable to create a temporary directory on your computer during the installation process.

Solution
Check the permission for your temporary folder.

1. Go to the Start menu > Run.
2. Enter one of the following directories in the text field:
* Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings
* Windows Vista: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local
3. Click OK.
4. In the window that opens, right-click the Temp folder.
5. Select Properties.
6. Click the Security tab.
7. In the "Group or user names" section, select your user profile name.
8. In the permissions section, verify that the checkboxes for "Read," "Write," and "Read & Execute" permissions in the "Deny" column are not selected.
9. Click Apply.
10. Click OK.

Try installing the browser again.

Also, check your security programs settings. See here for more details: http://www.google.co.uk/support/foru...b40aa781&hl=en

It pull up a light blue or pale purple folder, with the address bar, site included, yet has no further actions. If i use a I.E. browser, it functions well. This started about 10 days ago. Any ideas or help, would be appreciated.

A:Google Crome won't open files

Chrome is not a file browser - which is what you appear to be using it for.
You should use Windows Explorer ('Computer' NOT Internet Explorer) for browsing files on your own computer.

I'm running a laptop with Win 8 & Google Crome and like the software to save my passwords which it is doing except for Gmail. It will not save them. Matter of fact the option box does not even pop up for me to try and save them. It will work for all other sites so is there a setting somewhere that I need to change to allow ALL passwords to be saved. If there is I can't find it and it's driving me nuts because I have to check my accounts numerous times each day. " Offer to save passwords I enter on the web " is selected in the Crome settings.

A:Bottle Neck When running Google Crome With Core i3 2nd Gen

I have a computer that has 2 GB of RAM at 1066 MHz which is 1 yr. old, when I use google chrome, firefox and CS5 at the same time it only uses 61-65% memory, its weird that you only have one page open on chrome and it uses 200 MB memory, Are your browsers up to date? If not update it. I think it has something to do with your RAM, probably you have a memory leak from what I know. What are the extension and add-ons in your chrome that is using that much RAM? I have 32-bit W7 when its idle it uses 20% memory.

A:Opens 6 windows when click on internet (google crome)

Do you mean tabs or windows?
If tabs...
Close all but the tab with the URL you want to open as your start window.
In the upper right, (below the [x] to close Chrome),
you will see an icon that is three horizontal bars.
Click this. (Left click!)
Go down to "settings" (near the bottom of the list), Left Click.
It will open a new tab.
In the second section (On Startup) you will see three options.
The third is "Open a specific page or set of pages".
Left click the link to "set pages"
Left click the button that says "use current pages"
and your current "list" will clear and become only the tab you have open.
HTH.

Once complete, it should open two Notepad Windows - OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt
It should also save copies in the same location as OTL.
I want you to copy and paste the contents of OTL.txt that should appear into one reply and Extras.Txt into another.

Hello,

I have been having a massive headache for the past few weeks, something very small is having a big impact!
As part of my work I need to subscribed to and receive notifications through my browser Crome. Recently the notification stopped coming through. When I have gone to subscribe to the notification via the website, the page just freezes, then disappears having not subscribed me. During this "freeze" their is some information which I can access, I have taken some screen shots so you can see.

https://snag.gy/zC5XA0.jpg
https://snag.gy/DnWmqF.jpg

It appears it is saying that the content is not secure, is blocking mixed content? Is there a way I can change my settings to allow these notifications? These notifications are soooooooooooooo important to me!

I am using Crome and the dreaded windows 10.

Hello Goby I would like to welcome you to the Malware Removal section of the forum.Around here they call me Gringo and I will be glad to help you with your malware problems.Very Important --> Please read this post completely, I have spent my time to put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier, faster and smoother for both of us!Please do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. First pleas update you network driver:

Code:

when the tool runs if the uninstall button is grayed out then your done and you can close the window, if not then please cluck it and let the tool run. DO NOT click the install button it will install a driver that is known to cause BSODs.

Hi,I was recently infected with the Windows Repair bug and fixed (maybe its still there) it via one of the posts on the sites. So I'm thinking I might have had a couple of other infections that were dormant for a while or Malwarebytes or Symantec never noticed. After fixing that, I noticed Google Chrome stopped working. When I started googling in Firefox and IE i noticed the page would redirect. And then an the "Internet Explorer Script Error" with the URL pointing to apparent spam urls "http;//celebrity-gossip.net/ashley-tisdale..." as an example. So I updated and ran Malwarebytes AM, Symantec & Microsoft Defender to see what they would. Symantec found an bloodhound virus in an archived drive. And i cleaned whatever Malwarebytes found, forgot now since its been a 4 days.I've tried the TDDSkiller.exe and that wouldnt launch. I tried renaming it too, but nothing.I found another thread and tried cleaning with SuperAntiSpyware and Hitman.I don't remember the correct order I've ran these, but followed according to the threads, including safed mode, internet off, etc...Anyways, any help is appreciated. here is the log:.DDS (Ver_11-03-05.01) - NTFSx86 Run by Mikael at 21:35:05.37 on Thu 04/07/2011Internet Explorer: 7.0.5730.13 BrowserJavaVersion: 1.6.0_24Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600.3.1252.1.1033.18.2047.902 [GMT -7:00].AV: Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition *Enabled/Updated* {FB06448E-52B8-493A-90F3-E43226D3305C}.===========... Spouse showed me her Dell running Win 8.1, said that Chrome was closing itself.
Tried to find security program for scan, learned that it is Windows Defender (I use Win 7 on mine, running MSE).

But in the task list, I found a process called "crome.exe" running at 76% CPU!!!!! (yes, the spelling on that process is correct)

Had to use End Task twice to shut it down.

This all looks fishy to me, which is why I post here. Google search for "crome process" gets no meaningful results

Started running Defender full scan now & not complete.

Told spouse to use IE rather than Chrome for now, and it is shutting itself down just the same.

Appreciate information about what it going on.

A:Browsers Closing Themselves: "crome.exe" process found

YouTube? Picture in Picture (Beta)

Users of this extension have also used
Watch YouTube? videos in the corner while browsing the site, just like in the mobile apps.
* Videos will continue to play in a picture-in-picture window when you navigate away from the page
* Re-open video page at any time without interruption
* Start videos in a picture-in-picture window with the right click menu

This extension is a proof-of-concept and is still in beta, with a few known bugs. Playlists don't work correctly, and sometimes videos don't load right. If something goes wrong, opening a new video usually fixes things. If not, try opening a new tab.

Hello Ch2is, I (as well as MicroSoft, McAfee and Symantec) recommend that you DO NOT have more than one anti virus product installed and running on your computer at a time. The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, then those products which do not encrypt the virus strings within them can cause other anti virus products to cause "false alarms". It can also lead to a clash as both products fight for access to files which are opened again this is the resident/automatic protection. In general terms, the two programs may conflict and cause:1) False Alarms: When the anti virus software tells you that your PC has a virus when it actually doesn't.2) System Performance Problems: Your system may lock up due to both products attempting to access the same file at the same time. Therefore please go to add/remove in the control panel and remove one of these. Trend Micro AntiVirus or AVG Anti-Virus Free Let me know when you have removed one of them, and which one you removed.*********************Your Java is out of date. HI, I was browsing the internet and got the Internet 2010 malware and maybe 10-12 Trojans. I did some clean-up using McAfee and Ad Aware programs. But when I rebooted I was getting many executable programs failing with the message "error loading c:\windows\system32\bisomasu.dll"I used one of the download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill programs as well as ran the AVZ.exe which seemed to clean up bisomasu.dll. The only error loading message I get now on reboot is the pop-up RUNDLL error loading c:\windows\system32\kiremava.dllHowever, my google browser redirects to different sites and says my gmail certificate is not recognized as trustworthy in both firefox and IE. I even tried to re-install firefox and it redirected me to a fake site that look just like the real deal to download a virus executable which McAfee found and cleaned instantly. Once I cut and pasted the right url and installed a fresh copy of Firefox, it is still redirecting.I'm clearly still infected. I would be most appreciative if you would help me. My dad recently got me a new hard drive which unfortunately crashed. I put my old hard drive back in and immediately received the AXWIN Frame Window: svchost.exe - Application Error. Under the title it says: the instruction at "0x02baf7a0" referenced memory at "0x02baf7a0". The memory could not be "written". I've tried multiple anti-everything programs from Super Anti-Spyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix, Spybot S&D, and various online scans that have found nothing, or found something but never fully cleaned my system. For a week or two, Google was being redirected to various ad sites, but after my system was "cleaned" everything was fine. Now today, anything remotely related to Google won't load at all. I've tried to manually remove the TDSS google-redirecting virus, but I have none of the files that supposedly come along with the virus.

I'll start by saying thanks just for giving the time to review my request.

My computer recently was infected, I'm not completely sure what it was exactly, but first thing that occured was AVG caught multiple attacks. I told avg to clean them, but somehow it managed to get past avg.

The first symptom was google redirections, on almost ever link from google searches. Then I noticed certain websites were completely unaccessible, e.g. microsoft.com. I noticed all this in Internet Explorer, I then attempted to try google in Mozilla Firefox and got the same redirections. After that first time I used firefox since the infection, I can no longer open firefox.

Using Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, and TDSSKiller to fight the problem, the first two programs failed to acclomplish anything even though they found errors. TDSSKiller found some rootkit and cured it, I'm sorry I cannot remember the name of the rootkit, which seems to have cured the google redirections and website blocks.

--Edit-- I noticed before I ran the TDSSKiller, taskmanager was showing an svchost.exe which was gorging my memory, running at 99% and well over 350,000K. Since the TDSSKiller run the svchost no longer shows as a problem.---

The problem left if Mozilla Firefox still does not open, and I'm still worried that maybe something is still left over that could be stealing information.
Thanks again, Matt

I'm getting a pop-up NSIS error - Error launching installer. I think it was after I uninstalled Comodo or zone alarm on one of my computers. Can I check the "event viewer" to find out what program is causing the error. Or you have other suggestions on how to get rid of my annoying friend?
I am trying to follow the steps at this thread but isn't working either.

A:google error

From Google's Known Issues site:

This is a known issue for earlier versions of the Google Updater. If you're seeing this error, it's likely that you're trying to install an older version of the Google Updater over a newer version. To resolve this issue, make sure you're installing the latest version of the Google Updater.Click to expand...

I've just encountered the "blank screen" problem and was looking for help myself about an hour ago.
