Everytime I download an image or file on my computer it shows up on my computer

Q: Everytime I download an image or file on my computer it shows up on my computer

screen. How do I stop that?

Any help would be simply awesome!

Preferred Solution: Everytime I download an image or file on my computer it shows up on my computer

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Everytime I download an image or file on my computer it shows up on my computer

Hi and welcome,
I think your downloads are saving to desktop (the screen). What web browser are you using (Internet Explorer or Firefox or ...).
With that info it should be possible to help you change the default download location.

Hi All,

I need your help to resolve my issue.
I m having 2 laptops at home, I want to create system image file of laptop1 onto laptop2.
Since the data is large i cant take the hassle of creating sytem image on a DVD as it will require more DVD's to do it. So m planning to store it on Laptop2. I m thinking of connecting 2 Laptops with a LAN cable and then create the sytem image on other laptop.

Is it possible to do it the way i m thinking? or is der any other way to do this??
Your help is appreciated.

A:How to store a computer system image file on another computer

Very easy; I do it myself.

If you don't have a router, use a crossover network cable between the two laptops. If you do have a router, use a wired connection from each to the router. Either way, make sure you share a folder on the destination laptop for the source laptop to stash the image.

I use the free version of Macrium Reflect for my images. You can either connect the laptops and run the image directly, or do what I do and store the image on the source laptop and then manually copy it over to the other laptop.

For some strange reason the My Computer window opens on my desktop everytime I boot up windows 7 professional, any idea what I can do to stop this or why it's even happening?

A:My Computer Window Opens everytime I boot up the computer.

Some start up entry probably got messed up.

Do you have CCleaner installed?
If so, it has a simple list of start up items under
Tools > Startup > Windows

Or you can use the powerful Autoruns tool.
Just be very careful what you do in that tool.
If you like, you can post a screenshot (using this info) of your start up items
(as shown by CCleaner or Autoruns or MSCONFIG)
...and we might be able to help you find the offending start up item.

Or you can work thru these steps to try and find the start up entry:

I've had a problem with the c drive on a dual drive asus gh73 lap top and have in hand a disk image backup that was created with ms backup on a separate HDD connected to the asus with a usb cable. There is a .vhd file there which I am trying to get the "re-image your computer" to use, but when I select that file I get the error message "the specified location does not contain information about your hardware" There are other files present on the drive that the MS backup software created, but I tried all of them and get the same error. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Windows system image restore needs to see a folder called WindowsImageBackup. Within this folder is important information including the vhd file(s).

The free upgrade from Windows 7 and 8 to Windows 10 is available now on Windows update.
Get the ISO here.

A:Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File)

Shouldn't this topic be pinned?
@Nick: the link redirects you to this page: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and then you have to download the 'media creation' tool.  The instructions are on another page, here .  The instructions claim you can create the download iso and tool whether the machine you're using is 32-bit or 64-bit, idea of just creating the tool to install on another machine.  But that's not true, either.  I just downloaded both the 32-bit and 64-bit tools: the 64-bit tool wouldn't run on THIS machine, because this machine is 32-bit.  So I can NOT prepare for download on another PC, as I cannot even prepare a 64-bit tool.
So I worry that you cannot make an iso, but rather it's a download to install.
Will retry, on a 64-bit Win7 I have.  If it gets trashed, no biggie.  My next post will have results.

A:Everytime I restart my computer this happens...

Need a little more info before I start to help you...

Go to www.majorgeeks.com, click on the "Diagnostics" category

Download a utility called BlueScreenView and install if you can. This is a great freeware utility and it allows you to see the name of the system driver or file associated with the minidump information created when your computer crashed.

If you can, post the name of the file associated with the C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini092609-01.dmp information noted in the error message you posted. In the main window after you run BlueScreenView, it should tell you what file caused the crash directly to the right of the dump file name.

From the research that I have done so far, 1000007e errors are associated with older versions of driver files used under Windows Vista (i.e.: an older version of Nero which worked fine under XP and you try it under Vista - it crashes.)

I am running windows xp operating system.

For some reason, I have to keep restarting my computer. every time I open a new program. For example. When I turn my PC on. I can get on the internet just fine. But if I close out, I cannot get back on the internet. Or open up any other programs on my computer.

Same thing happens when I play a game. If I close it out. I can not Re-Open it. I have to MANUALLY restart my computer in order to open up something new. And I can only open up one window.

I also have a difficult time shutting down and restarting my computer. I keep hitting, Windows, U twice. And it never works. I even do it with the mouse. It doesn't work.

How should I fix these problems??

I have ran a system scan, everything came out negative.

I have also ran a registry cleaner on it. And everything turned out negative.

Please email me ASAP.

I run my computer in Safe Mode. Everything works fine.

A:Restart computer everytime I do something new on it.

Hello, I am new here and I'd like to thank anyone willing to help..My friend recently came down with a case of spy sherriff, so I went over to help her. I used the instructions from How to remove Spy Sherriff i think the problem might have started from this part :13. Make sure you are disconnected from the Internet and that all programs and windows are closed. Run HijackThis and press the Scan button. Place a check next to the following items, if found, and click FIX CHECKEDMy friend has some weird internet, and I was unable to because she was not administrator [even though she was] so i did it without disconnecting. :\ after that i did the rest of the instructions. All was well, spy sherriff was gone... but then the windows xp style for windows and buttons was gone.. I read on another forum someone had this problem.. and the real problem:explorer restarted, and 30 seconds later we got the blue screen.. STOP C000021a (fatal system error)The Windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000103 ( 0x00000000 0x00000000) The system has been shutdownSo winlogon is the problem im thinking. The thing is that explorer refreshes and we get the blue screen, every time we turn the computer on. When in safe mode it didnt though, and when i tried last known configuration it waited about 9 minutes before it happened again. I went to Microsoft's How to troubleshoot a "STOP 0xC000021A" error site and used Dr. Watson.. but the thing i... Read more

A:c000021a everytime computer is turned on

Stop 0xC000021A or STATUS_SYSTEM_PROCESS_TERMINATED The Stop 0xC000021A message occurs when Windows XP Professional switches into kernel mode and a user-mode subsystem, such as Winlogon or the Client Server Runtime Subsystem (CSRSS), is compromised and security can no longer be guaranteed. Because Windows XP Professional cannot run without Winlogon or CSRSS, this is one of the few situations where the failure of a user-mode service can cause the system to stop responding. You cannot use the kernel debugger in this situation because the error occurred in a user-mode process.A Stop 0xC000021A message can also occur when the computer is restarted after a system administrator has modified permissions in such a way that the SYSTEM account no longer has adequate permissions to access system files and folders.

I have a Gateway 8610, with Vista Home Premium and I had downloaded an update for McAfee online. My McAfee started to scan all of my files and then suddenly, it told me to start my computer. I restarted my computer and then when i logged back into my computer, My McAfee program wasn't there anymore. So i tried reinstalled it again but a window pops up with nothing, only saying the word "LABEL". Then, my computer automatically restarted and then when i tried to log back into my computer, my computer restarts again and it is the same process over again. I can't find the source of the problem and I don't want to take my computer to a shop because it might be too expensive and I'm really in a tight budget. PLEASE HELP! Is there a way for me to fix it myself and get rid of the source of the problem? If so, please give me the steps in order for me to do it

When you turn on the laptop, continuously tap F8 until you get the Advanced Boot Menu screen. From here choose "Disable automatic restart on system failure". Then when you restart, you should get a blue screen. What exactly does it say on the blue screen?

okay, after a long time of shutting off with the power button, its come back to me...

i didn't think it would damage the computer, because i thought hey, they put it there for a reason right?

Nope, now every time i turn it on, it goes to login screen, and shuts down *Regularly, logs off, says shutting down..' cuts off anything i could possibly do...

i tried to run in safe mode, but it freezes at the disk.sys driver....then it gives me the vista installagtion screen....

I have so much stuff on my computer, i CANT reset it, i cant restart it, some of the stuff such as videos, pictures of my great grandfather, etc... are NOT replaceable....

Every time i try to run cmd prompt, and try to run chkdsk *Cant do it from the system properties as computer shuts down before then* it says the system is right protected...

so one time i got lucky and managed to click check for bad sectors and recover through the system befre it shut off, ok, computer shut down, restarted, it didnt even check for a second, just told me *this computer is clean* without even checking it....

I will NEVER turn it off from the power switch again, its just when i put it in sleep mode it turns on for no reason, and i get tired of it so i just hold down the switch...

Everything works fine, i can get into the account, nothings missing, all my programs, everything, it's just vista makes it shut down, and i dont know why...

in safe mode and services restore they both stopped at disk.sys, so im f... Read more

focusing on getting the data off -
It may be possible to boot from another Operating System
This will at least test the Hardware and also see if you can see the Harddrive and possibly get data off.

If you have another PC with a cdwriter and spare CD
goto http://www.ubuntu.com/ and download the ISO

full details are here http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/wind...backup-files-from-your-dead-windows-computer/

click on the image "download ubuntu"
Select a location
then begin download
Save the file onto your PC – remember where you saved it – so you can find it again to create the image bootable CD.

You do NOT copy the ISO file onto a CD - you have to use the ISO to create a bootable CD
The CD creator software you have on the PC may have an option to create an image from an ISO
If not - use this free program http://www.imgburn.com/

When the UBUNTU CD boots - you will see the following options
1) Try ubunto without any change to your computer
2) Install ubuntu
3) Check CD for defects
4) Test memory
5) Boot from first hard disk.

Use OPTION 1 "Try ubunto without any change to your computer" ONLY this option this will run from the CD and not install onto your harddrive - be careful, if you do install onto the PC - you will wipe the data and software OFF your hard drive.., so repeat only use option 1

Now you should see a UBUNTU desktop
This at least proves the main parts of the PC are working

You may see your Harddrive on the deskt... Read more

Last night, I downloaded and played the Diablo 3 beta for my first time. When I got in game, i noticed that every time I tried to move my character, the game would freeze up like 10 seconds. Because this was happening I tried to restart the game. Turns out that didn't help so i proceeded to trying to restart my computer to see if that would help, but as the screen was at the part where it shows that you are logging off, I got a BSOD.

I have gotten BSODs before, and simply had to restart while on them to get the computer to run normally, but this time when I got the BSOD and tried to usual method of restarting, I kept getting BSODs that automatically restarted the computer again in an infinite loop of BSODs. To stop it from automatically restarting after the BSODs, I hit the option to make it not auto restart after the BSOD so I can get a look at what it actually said. I noticed that when i was getting the BSODs, the error messages weren't always the same. Some said things like "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" and "BAD_POOL_HEADER."

I also noticed that the number and letters at the bottom weren't the same with every BSOD. Since I am unable to access to my computer's desktop, I couldn't pull a proper log of the errors so I had so i just went ahead and read some and wrote them down by hand (sorry if there is actually a way to get them still, but this the only thing else I know of.)

Here are some of the error messages I got:

A:Computer BSODs when starting everytime.

I would test the hard drive and get that out of the way first before looking elswhere. Test it with the drive manufacturer's own diagnostic software for DOS which allows you to test the drive even if Windows won't start. The links are here:

The download for the DOS version is an ISO file from which you must create a CD using IMGBurn from here:

When you've made the CD, boot your faulty PC from it to run the drive test (you will need to go into it's BIOS settings first to set the cd-rom drive as the first boot device, otherwise your system won't boot from a CD while there's a bootable hard drive installed).

Hi guys,

I just bought a new computer that came with Win7 64bit installed and it keeps crashing every time I reboot.
I have attached the dmp file. Maybe you can give some input.
I really want to get your opinion before returning the machine. Hopefully it is just a driver that is corrupted or something like that.
Thanks a lot.

A:New Computer crashes almost everytime I reboot

Hello and welcome to here.

You are getting 0x124 stop errors. This thread is how to troubleshoot/repair it.

First thing to do is visit NVIDIA's site and install the latest graphics driver. It's good for troubleshooting purposes to run the latest and to eliminate as a possible factor.

Since it's a new computer, visit the maker of your ram for exact Vdimm (memory voltage) and timings. Manually adjust your bios accordingly, after updating the bios to latest.

Use the spd tab of CPU-Z if you need to find the model number of the ram.

Also in the bios, ensure Plug and Play OS is set to yes. And no overclocking please, for troubleshooting reasons and purposes. CPU-Z can help you determine if you are or not. After it's fixed, you can set it how you wish.

I built my first comp this summer with some help. Worked perfectly until about 2 months ago. It froze on me as I booted it up. Turned it off and tried it again same thing. Nothing fixed it. Had it looked at by some pros and told me I needed a new Mobo. Had the mobo replaced with same model only to have it happen again only when the harddrive was attached. Tried repairing the harddrive only to have the system lock up during the repair process. Put in a brand new HDrive and tried to run a fresh install of windows only to have it freeze up on the new hard drive during the install. At my wits end. Could the problem be a bad CPU?? What else could the problem be???

AMD 64 3400+
1G Corsiar XMS
420W Vantec
9800 Pro 256Mb
WD Caviar SE 160gig(SATA)

Welcome to Techspot!
If you hace a PC health type page in you CMOS setup ,go there and check CPU temps and voltages readings from the PSU.
If you have more than 1 pc of Ram try swapping with just 1 in to see if there is a bad strip.
Let us know what your trouble shooting discovers.
