I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I'm a student and I bought this laptop just like 7 months before and I travelled abroad to continue my studies. Because of this problem I couldn't even concentrate! I need to plug in my charger whenever I need to use my lap, If I disconnect my charger, it shuts down! All my money I spent in this laptop is a waste, I guess! I'm really disappointed!

I am having a message that says "Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached" message that appears after Windows 8.1 starts up. A similar sort of message appears before even Windows boots up, and I need to press the 'Esc' key in order for Windows to boot. This seems to have happened after a recent Windows update. I have uninstalled an reinstalled the Lenovo Power Management Driver but it does not appear to have fixed the issue. My BIOS is the latest version. This issue is on my Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1. Any assistance is appreciated.

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that your Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga is displaying a message stating ?Genuine Lenovo Battery Not Attached?.

I would suggest you to perform Flee Power ? remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer. Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect the battery and AC adapter to turn ON the computer.
Get into BIOS and load defaults, save and exit.

Open Device Manager and under Battery Look for Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control method Battery, right Click on it and uninstall it, Restart after uninstallation.

Please let me know the happenings!

The battery status toggles between not charging, not used, and unauthorized battery after it was calibrated using one key. Before that, the battery was working perfectly, lasting close to 5 hours. Now the laptop shuts off when unplugged and the battery status is constantly changing. I've had this laptop for approximately a year now and it was unused and left in an unopened box for the first 8 months.

I am struggling with this for a while now. In Hungary we basically have no Lenovo support. My Yoga 2 is considered old but still a very-very good laptop. The Energy Manager complains that the battery is old and I can see it in its performance as well unfortunately. I tried several sellers on Ebay but I keep getting some crappy quality, usually old, refurbished like (but it does not work at all) batteries. I want a real ORIGINAL Lenovo battery that is BRAND NEW (not manufactured in 2014), that is a real stuff, not just a sticker on the outside, crap in the inside. Could you please help me?

Hi everyone! Is it ppossible to buy NEW battery form my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro 13 Notebook? It uses the L12M4P21. I looked at many places but all the batteries are made in 2003 or 2004. As I know they loose their performance if they sit on the shelf for many years... Is it possible to find really newly made original Lenovo battery for my laptop?

A:I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro 13, I need a new battery... but NEW, not battery that was made in 2004!

Hi Moksa,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It may be hard to say as because of the age of the model but you can try calling in EMEA parts sales desk for your region (Hungary 30 722-37-91). On the battery sticker is also the battery manufacturer which you can try but I am not as optimistic for newer manufactured battery.

I would say that as long as they provide the standard battery one year warranty, then it would be a good option to go.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

I'll try and explain this one best i can. User came to me with their Yoga 15 with an issue where it randomly shuts down on battery power, as in completely switches off.  It sometimes displays a message to say the battery cannot be detected, other times just shuts down. The conclusion I've found is that when the bottom panel is off the machine the battery is completely detected in Windows, and the Lenovo Settings app. It runs fine, never cuts off even with lots of IE instances open.As soon as I put the bottom panel back on the battery appears to be disconnected in Windows, and it also shows it not charging. Intermittently it also states the battery power is low or not detected when booting up. Found that there's a battery / system reset button on the underside that may be the cause of the issue. Pressing this button with the underside of the Laptop off resets the machine entirely, I believe it's the battery reset button incase the machine ever gets stuck at any point (as by rights it's a non-removable battery and there's a small pin hole on the case over this button). Works flawlessly without the bottom case in place, as soon as I re-connect it when the unit is on Battery power I loose the battery status in the Lenovo Settings app. The machine will then randomly shut down. Any thoughts on this one, it's the strangest thing. Many thanks all.

A:Lenovo Yoga 15 - shuts down on battery

When you put the panel back, is it touching/blocking any wires?
Have you tried to do a factory reset? If everything works fine then, try updating drivers one by one to see if it comes back.

Recently my Lenovo Yoga 720 15-IKB has started shutting down after a few minutes when on battery. It's fine when I use it plugged in. But once I unplug it and it's using battery (even when fully charged), it will consistently turn off after a few minutes. Nothing has changed that I know of since this started happening. It just seemed to start doing it one day. It hasn't been dropped or anything, it hasn't even left the house. I read around a bit and saw the recommendation to update the BIOS. So I've attempted to update the BIOS via the official Lenovo support page but run into an issue and it can't complete. It has me download 4mcn33ww.exe and kicks off Insyde H20FFT (Flash Firmware Tool). The process appears to run as expected until it turns off the laptop to restart and once it boots back up with the screen black, a red message states "Warning: No Battery Connected, This process requires AC power and a charged battery to avoid accidental power-off during an update". I attached a photo of what I see. I, of course, have the laptop plugged in during this process so I'm not sure why it says that. And prior to starting the BIOS update, Windows states the laptop is, in fact, charging/plugged in.  At this point I'm stuck. The only potential fix I've found online is to update the BIOS, but I can't update the BIOS due to the AC power error it seems. Any ideas? Thanks!

Last September 2016 I bought a new Lenovo Yoga 3 PRO, I was quite happy with the battery life and the overall quality of the product. Now, 6~7 months later I still quite happy with screen, audio, materials... but not with my battery life. I give this computer use as home main driver for coding and web browsing, with some photo editing with Adobe Lightroom from time to time, nothing intensive that might heat up the computer on excess. I also try to give the computer "healthy" battery cicles, not leaving 0% battery for long periods neither leaving 100% battery plugged all the time. However, when today my battery seemed not to charge and have been experience shorter and shorter battery life over the last months, I was shocked when I saw on HWMonitor that my total battery capacity droped from 44.000 mWh to 14350 mWh. I could not believe it. Check here: That is too much battery loss for such a short period using my computer! Any idea of what I can do to fix this? I have just been unlucky and got a lemon with this computer? Should I send it back to seller?

After few first charges it started showing that my battery quality is becoming worse. Now after 3 weeks it shows that I lost 25% of my battery max capacity. It's 39900mWh from factory 53000mWh. I charged it less than 20 times so it shouldn't die so fast. At this rate I will reach 0% capacity after 9 weeks.I charge it for about 4-6 hours, then disconnect, and use until battery reaches ~10%. Then I turn it off and charge until full. I would call support.  They will most likely ask you to run a battery guage reset.  If after reset its still like that and laptop is under 1 year old and under warranty in my opinion they will replace battery.

Hi, I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 14, but it seems to be having some issues with power, here's what I've tried so far and the results. 1. Running with just battery: Device powers on for about 15-20 seconds, can hear the internal workings going on, such as the fan, and then it suddenly shuts down. Nothing ever displayed on the screen. 2. Running with just battery plugged into TV with HDMI: Same as before, except the TV shows Windows 10 booting up, it gets to the "Please Wait" screen just before Windows asks you to login, and then the laptop shuts down before it ever gets to the Windows login screen. 3. Running with Battery and Power adapter plugged in: Identical to 1 and 2. Whenever the battery is in, the display NEVER works. 4. Running with Battery unplugged from the Motherboard and the Power adapter plugged in: Display works on laptop, and the device runs reasonably smoothly, but still shuts down randomly sometimes, quite often when playing games, if I'm just messing around with word processing or internet browsing, it can last hours before it shuts down. Can withstand the Lenovo solution center testing (Full CPU and disk load) without powering down. I'm at a loss as to what's wrong with it, I assumed it was a power problem, and the battery alone can't send enough power to run the display, whereas the AC power supplies more power, but it still shuts down randomly sometimes, and the laptop is on a solid desk, it's not caused by the l... hello there fellow Yoga 710 users,  one of the reasons why i picked up this Yoga 710 is because of its 'above average' battery life to compare with its competitor. this is based on reviews that i read and watch on youtube.  however, after using it for a few days, i dont think i was able to hit 7 hours or more on this machine. i did not put it under extreme load as i was using it only for word processing etc.  from the battery notification, it says around 4 hours and 40 minutes at 100 percent.  any of you guys encounter the same problem? or you guys were able to hit 7 hours or more for the battery life? just want to make sure that my battery is not draining for no reason appreciate your input guys  thanks
