Error Msg "Cannot sort a range containing merges." in Google Sheets

Q: Error Msg "Cannot sort a range containing merges." in Google Sheets

Using Google Sheets. Why am I getting this error msg? "Cannot sort a range containing merges." I DON'T have any merged columns, or merged anything. No hidden columns, or at least they weren't hidden when I tried to do the sort.

I tried to attach the file as a XLSX, and CSV, and both formats gave me an error.

Preferred Solution: Error Msg "Cannot sort a range containing merges." in Google Sheets

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey everyone,
I am trying to get the REST queries to work with the sharepoint end points instead of graph end points. I first created an app with relevant permissions and have given it the admin consent. Then I am hitting the https://login.microsoftonline.com/<tenant>.onmicrosoft.com/oauth2/token?Content-Type=application/x-www-form-urlencoded end
point with https://<tenant>.sharepoint.com as resource. I am then using the access token retrieved to give the rest call to https://<tenant>.sharepoint.com/_api/v2.0/drives/b!3indYSbqZ0-hVSPnCgIZy-2xDMh7jH9AuQnEzJMc6TEfQoSJvJT-R6tT0lFBQiPr/root/delta
but it is failing with "error":{"code":"generalException","message":"General exception while processing"}}. The REST response code is 401 Unauthorized. I have filed a Microsoft support ticket but they
have asked me to post on these forms. Can someone please help me with this? I am not able to move forward because the error is pretty generic and doesn't give any additional details.

For some reason, my "Recycle Bin" will not display the files within it with the correct filters while in the "Details" view.

For example, I have the "View" set to "Details", and the two columns I have showing are "Name" and "Type", with "Name" selected as the preferred sort order.

With those settings in place, the "Recycle Bin" is not displaying the files in the correct order.I am not sure of the order that it is displaying them, as I can't pick-up on any pattern.

For example, it is displaying:

When I adjust it again so it displays them in the correct order, the next time I open the "Recycle Bin", the order has returned to the incorrect display.

Any ideas on how to correct this?

I was given an old Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100 and have reformated the HDD to clear whatever junk was on it. After putting Windows back on (XP SP3) everything seems to work as it should, apart from that I canít connect to my home wi-fi network. The network is picked up OK, but when I click connect I get an error saying that the network may have become out of range (even when right next to the router).

I have three other PCs connecting wirelessly to the network with no probs.

The router is not restriced to certain mac addresses.
There are plenty of available DHCP slots.
It works OK via ethernet.
I have tried disabling wireless security on the router.
I have tried changing the wireless channel to something else on the router

The laptop has an inbuilt mini-PCI wireless card that seems to be hooked up OK to the antenna, and the driver is the latest one.
I have also tried a Linksys PCMCIA wi-fi card (Iíve been using this fine on another laptop).

Could this be an issue with whatever driver controls these interfaces, such as PCI Bridge, Chipset, or whatever. Which one could it be? Any ideas? Iíve manually gone right-click Update Driver to all system devices in Device Manager and still doesnít work.

Hi everyone,

Normally my computer works fine, but occasionally I get the "Input out of Range" error message,
at that point all I can do is do a cold boot (turn off the computer from the button of the power
supply and back on), when the computer boots up, I get a message:
"The computer has recovered from a serious error". and every thing works fine, until a few weeks or
days later the problem re-appears.

Sys. specs: Pentium 4, Windows XP, RAM 2.00 GB, HDD 190 GB, Adapter is
NVIDIA Geforce 6200 TurboCache, memory for the adapter is 256MB, Monitor is HPvs17.

When the error message "Input out of Range" comes up, I get message from the monitor
advising a recommended setting of 1280x1024 with refresh rate of 60Hz, but at that point
I can't change anything on the computer or the monitor. Finally, my current refresh rate is
60 HZ and display setting is 1024x768, which I don't want to change as Im uncomfortable
with small images. Any advice on how to solve this problem?
Ive read in the forums and on the 'net but so far nothing has helped.

Thanks for your kind help!

Well, here's the deal: yesterday, I were trying to download a cool game to my computer (minecraft) from the game's site itself, but somehow, there seemed to be a pretty annoying virus came along (just my guess)so I deleted the file and downloaded a better version (which actually worked) but still, the virus made Mum go crazy, of course I didn't tell her the truth, and then she think that the problem might be the old OS, so she inserted the disk and put me in charge. It didn't go well, the installation froze at 29% for no apparent reasons, and so I cancled the setup. Back to the destop, I tried to play the game again, and this time, it said that my video card is below requirement, so I adjust the resolution to highest >.< and you know what happens next... Then, I found a helpful thread on this site which told me to enable VGA or something, I did, and the welcome screen came up, but the setup was still running, so I cancled it, and it rebooted the computer, and then I'm all the way back to the start please help me if you can, I'll be very very very grateful

Hi, guys. I'm having a heck of a time with setting up my wireless network. I have an old desktop wired to Netgear wgt624 and trying to connect my laptop wireless to share internet connection and files between the two computers. I want to transfer all large files from desktop to laptop so I could burn it on DVDs. I used to be able to share internet connection even though laptop speed was significantly lower than desktop it was o.k. for browsing internet. Settings for router: Network authentication=WPA-PSK, Data encryption=TKIP with network key and don't broadcast ssid. In the process of trying to make file sharing work I changed a couple of settings. I changed automatic IP address to static (copied from desktop), created same usernames for both computers (even though it doesn't ask to set a password for some reason), and made some files and drives "shared". Now I can't connect to internet either. It does show network in range however when I click on connect, it tries to connect and the moment it says "connected", the message "No wireless networks were found in range" comes up. Then I refresh network list and it shows my network is connected with excellent signal strength but I can't get online. I feel like giving up on this network thing. It's sooo frustrating. I was so happy when i was able to cruise internet in the livingroom instead of having to stay next to the cable modem but I'm sure it's worth all thi... Read more

System Specs:
Monitor: Compaq MV520 (dunno what that "Plug and Play" thing it says when I go to display settings is all about)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
Ram: 512 MB
Processor: Pentium IV with 2.66 GHZ

Before, I started games (Emperor, Empire Earth, Age of Mythology) in 800X600 and a message came up saying:

Out Off Range
(Red Box) (Green Box) (Blue Box)
H : 31-54KHz
V : 50-99Hz
This is when I played some games configured to 1024X768 in 800X600 resolution.

Now, I set the refresh rate to 85, and my brother, because he wanted to play Emperor, set the resolution to 1024X768. With both of these things set like this, the monitor displayed the Out Off Range error, without having to start one of those games!

He shut it off, and when we tried to start the computer, the error came just after the Windows XP loading screen. Is there a way to edit the refresh rate or the resolution "outside" of the computer?

I need to either fix this or buy a new monitor, and I hope I don't have to buy a new one.

All help is appreciated.

Somehow I've managed to do something that prevents me from entering the Local Area Connection Properties window. When I do I get a message, "The controls on this property sheet are disabled because one or more other property sheets are already open. To use these controls, close all these sheets and reopen this one."
Who ever hear of property sheets? At this moment I can't access the internet due to (I think) an impoperly set component in the Local Area Connections window. Thanks, I think, to McAfee putting a Firewall component in there.

Puzzled and Frustrated.

A:"Property Sheets" in Local Area Connection Properties

When you right-click on an object, i.e. Local Network Connection, and select Properties, it opens the Propertiy Sheet for that object. You may be correct that the firewall has controll of the properties for the NIC and therefore the system won't open the properties again until the first instance is closed. Try opening your services from the Computer Management MMC and stop the McAfee services relating to the firewall. See if you can then see the properties of the network connection. If so, you have found the culprit. What to do about it as it will probably take control again when the services are restarted, I don't know as I don't use McAfee's firewall. If you can remove it, Agnitum has a free firewall that works very well. I have satelite connection and have not had an issue with either doing what I want or getting hacked.

(Running Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1)
I'm a professional photographer and have recently begun shooting with two cameras simultaneously at events. They use different file names to avoid duplicate names/confusion, i.e. IMG_175000 and XMG_175000. Often times I'll take a photo with one camera and then take a photo immediately after it with the other camera and I'd like both of these images to be organized in the same subfolder and shown sequentially, but by default Windows Explorer lists all the "XMG_######" photos at the end and the IMG_###### photos at the beginning. I can manually sort each individual folder by going to "Sort by - Date" or even better, selecting "Sort by - More... and putting a check mark next to "Date Taken" so that it shows up in the Sort options (which it doesn't automatically) and then sorting by Date Taken, but since I'm dealing with hundreds of subfolders with hundreds of thousands of photo and video files I'd like a way to do this for all the files in these subfolders that isn't manual.

Is there a way to make Windows Explorer automatically arrange every file (both image and movie files) inside the various subfolders inside one root folder by Date or Date Taken instead of automatically always sorting them by name?

Thanks in advance!

A:Making files in subfolders sort by "Date" or "Date Taken" by default?

It is my understanding that you need to use 8.5 x 11 size to do Contact Sheets (in case the problem is you are using a different size).

But in any event, I'm not sure what program you are using to do the printing. Here's a free program designed specifically for contact sheets that works with Vista: Photo-Freeware.net - Index Print: Contact Sheets Download. Give it a try and see if that resolves your problem.

You can try doing a repair or system file check...
Scan For Missing/Corrupt System Files...

Windows XP comes with a wonderful tool called System File Checker (SFC)
Itscans and verifies the versions of all protected system files after you restart your computer...
To Do This:
Click Start menu, and then click the Run icon.
In the small box that Opens, type the three letters: cmd then click the OK button.
In the command prompt window that just opened (a black background and white text), type the following command:
SFC /scannow
And then click OK
You must be logged on as a member of the Administrators group to run SFC..
You will need your Windows XP CD during this procedure if SFC needs to get an original file. Please remember that Windows XP can have multiple instances of a .DLL file and remember which version is for which program.
I have been asked if it is possible to have a "progress meter" show when SFC runs... This is the registry hack you need. PLEASE do not go messing with your registry if you do NOT know what you are doing!

This week I'm at my in-laws -- and doing routing maintenance on their computers and wireless network -- which includes thorough bumper to bumper scanning of their computers for a variety of things. While doing so with their relatively new Dell laptop I encountered the infamous and incredibly annoying Browser Helper [??] that Dell, in a deal with Google, is installing on new computers.

This "feature" is incredibly annoying when ultimately encountered during the loading of a legit web page. It takes what is presumed to be a mis-typed URL or one that doesn't resolve in the DNS (domain name server) -- including from embedded ad banners -- and instead of returning a standard DNS error, it redirects the browser to a Dell web page with Google search box and a host of click-through adverts. My ISP's home page (which I was using to get to my web mail) was triggering this before the web page could completely load -- as were some web pages on Newegg before that.

Took me a while to sort out what it was as Spybot S&D, Adaware and Hijack This didn't find it (at the least I didn't recognize it in the Hijack This log). Turns out it's not that difficult to get rid of -- but Dell/Google don't make it plainly obvious.

Here's the fix:

Close Internet Explorer (important!)
Fire up the Control Panel
Go to "Add or Remove Programs"
Look for one of these programs (they've used several different program names):

I've googled it but most of the posts found are about a not-quite-the-same problem of the buttons just working momentarily. At any rate, I tried the fix [clearing cache and cookies] that some of the posters said worked but it didn't make any difference.

I've disabled all of the ad-ons and the problem is still there. I re-enabled each add-on one at a time and tried it but none of them had any effect.

I've disabled my Norton Security Suite and the problem still exists.

I've reset IE and, other than losing all of my saved passwords, it too made no difference.

I think this might be a useful clue.

I noticed that for all of the buttons that are working, when I pass the mouse pointer over them it displays a URL down in the status bar. However, for the two that are not working nothing is displayed. It appears that the controls associated with these buttons either don't exist or are being blocked.

Does anyone have the solution for this, or at least and idea of what the problem is?

A:Google "More" and "Search Tools" buttons no longer working...

Hello Howard,

you can observe one thing here. All the menu items are just links. But More and Search Tools menu items are different. More is drop down menu and Search Tools also kind of drop down but with sub menu items.

So it seems like there are some script errors with your IE 10 browser.

But i am sorry, re installing IE is the only option i can suggest.

I am running Windows XP SP3, fully updated, on an Acer lap top PC.

I have several folders full of .mp3's and want to see the bit rate and duration. To do this I right click on a column heading and select "Bit rate". I then click on "More..." so I can get to "Duration", and I select that one too.

The two new columns appear, but the format of the "Duration" column appears to be "hours:minutes", so I see "00:04" or "00:03" for most .mp3's, when what I want to see is 'hours:minutes:seconds", e.g. "00:03:45".

This also happens for video files (.avi files), e.g. all my episodes of "Heroes" (sad, I know) have a duration of "00:42" instead of "00:42:xx".

Here are two pictures showing the problem with the .mp3's. The first is of Explorer showing the Duration as "Hours:Minutes":

The second picture is of the properties window of the first .mp3 in the list above:

I copied some .mp3 files to another (old) PC on my home network, and it displayed the duration field correctly:

Also, the properties window correctly shows the duration also:

I'm not the only person to have this problem. I received a private message from a member of another forum where I posted about this problem several weeks ago. That person also has the same problem with the duration field.

The tech guys on that forum were unable to find the source... Read more

Had a sudden inability to go much further than a third or forth-level download on ANY given webpage and then PC would seize-up, requiring "cont+alt+del" in order to get freed-up. Thought perhaps I picked-up a bug of some sort during a recent google search, and went immediately to Panda and Trendmicro to perform both virus as well as malware scans. While the Panda scan was loading-up, I received the following error message....

... " DoPatch....dll reports error....Error "C:\WINNT\patch.utp"....unreadable or not a patch file..."

Was able to complete both scans. Nothing found other than tracking cookies.

I then did a file serch for the above and located it. It was installed TODAY apparently, and not by me, within minutes of the problem starting.

I'm guessing someone/thing slipped this patch into my WINNT file or modified it while I was doing the google search, so I have included a HJT scan below.

Hope this all makes sense and ties-out to something. Any help would be genuinely appreciated-

For sometime now Google Chrome comes out with the "Unable to access network" error, it now appears more frequently. I have check windows fire wall and all seems OK, I have even removed Chrome and re-instated it with no effect. I tried to go to Firebox.com | Not For Everyone. and Chrome was unable to connect, I tried the same address with IE resulting in the same problem. However TOR browser had no problems. Could this be a router problem? or maybe an ISP fault?

A:"Unable to access network" error with Google Chrome

You have the same issue in Chrome and IE, correct? The Firebox address is repeatable? Happens every time? If so, use it to test. Boot to Safe Mode with Networking, and see if it occurs there

Safe Mode

If it works there, try a Clean Start and see if you have a conflict

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

If no help, try clearing DNS and reset winsock

Open an advanced command prompt

Start> In search box type cmd> Right click on cmd.exe in results above and choose Run as administrator

Type in the following, followed by enter for each

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

netsh winsock reset

I found a Google play download for android on softsonic but get error "file type exe not found" when selected from ad card? That is all the specs I see. Any fixes? Thanks

A:file type exe not found"google play apk"android download error

Your post is confusing. Reads like your device is running an Android OS -- ICS. But, ".exe" files are MS Windows files, not Android. They're generally executables but can also be self-extracting archives Either way, they will do you no good on a machine running Android.

"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \device\Harddisk1\DR1."

it is particularly annoying when I go to a new youtube video page and it pops up.
I don't think it's something wrong with the software because I noticed that the problem was not occurring the entire day so i suspect it's happening because of something I plug into the computer but I just don't know what because I unplug everything and it still happens.

do you have an external hard disk which you plug and unplug often ?

if yes maybe the disk took the drive letter C , instead of your internal hard disk .

I'm continuously getting this error message and cannot figure out what's causing it or how to fix it. Most of the time, it happens when I'm trying to log into a financial institution. Although, it also happens a lot when I try to log into Google Drive, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other places. I have to make multiple attempts before pages will finally load. Painful!
