Q: Corel 11 Giving problems

Recently i bought a new Pentium Core 2 Duo 1.86 Ghz processor with 2 gb ram with 160 gb 7000 rpm SeaGate hard-disk and original Intel Motherboard.

The problem is that when i installed coreldraw 11 and while saving a file it showed 'File Copy Error. TEMP drive or output drive may be full' C Drive has a 40 gb partition wtih progs using 7 gb of space. Also when writing a cd with roxio 6.0 the machine hangs. What could possibly be the error.

PS : Virus Scan yielded no viruses.

Preferred Solution: Corel 11 Giving problems

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am running Windows XP Home. I have been using Corel's PSP X2 without any problems until about a week ago. The program wouldn't open and I got the following error message.
"This application has requested the run time to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applicants support team for more info"
I deleted the program and loaded the earlier X1 version same result, same message and program won't run. I have tried restore too, but the program still will not open. All other software, including Adobe Photoshop runs normally, so it would appear to be oly Corel software that has a problem. Anyone have any idea what is happening, what the error message means?
Bearing in mind the software has been running OK for months until a week ago. Could there be a conflict with Windows suddenly? I have made no changes to anything or added any new hardware or software.

There's a bugaboo between Corel and Norton antivirus. If you have Norton you should check out the Symantec site for a tech sheet and solution and see if it pertains or not, its there somewhere since its been brought up before.

A:Corel Photo Paint and Corel Draw

To crop a bitmap
Open the Shape edit flyout , and click the Shape tool .
Select a bitmap.
Drag the bitmap’s corner nodes to the shape you want.
If you want to add a node, double-click the node boundary by using the Shape tool where you want the node to display.

Click Bitmaps } Crop bitmap.
You cannot crop a bitmap comprised of more than one object.
You can also crop a selected bitmap after you drag the bitmap’s corner nodes by clicking the Crop bitmap button on the property bar.

Basically what is happening is that after about 5 minutes of use the program stops running and abrupty closes without any warning. Sometimes I get a debug option after it crashes but that never seems to do anything.

I'm an artist. I use Corel Draw 8. Have been using it for years. I LOVE Corel Draw 8. I have zero money to upgrade, so don't bother to suggest that. I want to use my program! My old computer died, and I was given another by a friend. It's clean and has plenty of disk space. My old one ran Windows XP, and was slower than molasses, but the program worked fine. This "new" one runs Windows XP. But, for some reason, Corel Draw 8 keeps hanging up - freezing on me. I'm not doing anything different than I used to do with the program. (I create art in Corel PhotoPaint and then make greeting card templates in Corel Draw 8, and copy and paste or import the images to the cards.) I uninstalled and re-installed the program. That didn't work. I went on-line and researched the problem, found that many were dealing with the same problem and that there is a patch you can download that supposedly fixes it. I downloaded the patch late last night, and tried to create a card. It worked. But, this morning, when I went to begin creating cards again, it's not working again! Same thing is happening. If anything, I think it's worse! I tried to open my existing images in Photoshop 7, and export them or copy and paste them to the card template in Corel Draw 8, but the same thing happens - the Corel Draw 8 Save As dialogue box doesn't completely load, and when I try to close only that dialogue box, the whole program shuts down, without saving my work! I'm having problems with my Corel. crashing when I'm going to save the file. The process of saving just starts ticking in the background, but does not end, or I get the error message "The program has stopped working."
I sometimes manage to keep file as PDF, but when you try to open a file, an error and says that the file is corrupted.
I tried to reinstall Corel x6 via CD and upgrade to the latest updates, but nothing works.
Any ideas?
Installed Windows 7 64bit

A:Solved: problems with Corel Drow

Start by emptying the %temp% folder, which can easily be done immediately after a reboot -- or you can use a program like cCleaner to do it.
Also, try saving to a local folder rather than a removable or remote drive and if necessary disable antivirus checking on that folder.
If that does not work, you should probably try the F8 settings reset. Close CorelDraw, hold the F8 key and start CorelDraw using the mouse. Keep F8 down until you see a message confirming the reset.
In tools > options > global there is an option enable background tasks which is usually on by default. Its purpose is to speed up work, by letting you continue working as soon as the save has started.
It works well on most computers, but there are some that do not like it -- so you should try making a save with that option off.
Try to use any program for that. I personally use CDR Open File Tool http://www.cdr.openfiletool.com/

I am having problems opening drawings with Corel Draw 11
on XP that were made in version 9 on win 98.

When I open the drawing, I see the fonts in the preview image
but when I zoom in it won't appear, not even in wireframe
mode (the font is installed).

Corel tells me Draw does not support correctly type 1 fonts
when the same font is installed as true type.

They don't seem to have the solution.

Has anyone had that problem and
came up with a solution?

Thanks in advance!

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section but I'm trying to migrate to a new machine and I'm hitting several problems.

I cannot scan as I used to using Corel Photopaint and my HP C3100 All-in-one. When I command PP to acquire an image I get a dialogue called, "$MfgAbbrevName$ scanning", which reads, "Sorry couldn't find required user interface files (Please reinstall your scanning software)". But the HP dialogue for scanning is visible right behind the message! When I close the message down I get another message, "The Twain driver returned an unknown error code".

Meanwhile, PP can actually see two scanner sources - HP Photosmart C3100 Twain 1.0 (32-32) and WIA - HP Photsmart C3100 1.0 (32-32). If I select the former I get the above messages, if I select the second I get a basic, cut-down version of a HP scanner GUI which does actually work. I'd prefer to use the more refined one I'm familiar with.

I've removed and re-installed the HP All-in-one software several times now. I've run the PP install repair several times. Where does the 'missing' scanner software come from?

Any help much appreciated.

I work with Corel Draw several hours a day: versions 8 and 10. If I work with regular vector images, there is hardly ever a problem. Whenever importing image files: jpg, tif, etc., there is a 50-50 chance that the program will crash either when printing or when saving. On a save, the entire file is wiped out. The images imported are clean and not high res. Contacted Corel and they've only given me "generic" answers and information: really lame for a large company. Upgraded the version 8 to .369, but no difference. PC's are both over GHz in processing speed, LOTS of DDR RAM and work well with Illustrator and Photoshop. Only Corel gives us problems. [All Corel settings/options are set to proper optimal settings.] ......Tough problem!!! Any remote ideas??? Thanx.

Hi, i have some problem with my IE 7 recently.
When i surf some sites, mostly hotmail. I always get the message "object moved here". So when i click on a page, it will direct me to a page that writes "object moved here" and then i'll need to click on the word "here" before i can access my page.

Recently, i cant seem to see all the images and yes, i can't see all the smilies and icons on the post thread now, which is wierd and i get this message when i'm surfing the net at times:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address

which i find it wierd because my messenger is still able to connect and my brother's computer which uses the same connection is also able to connect but my internet just doesn't seem to be able display the webpage.

hope to hear from you soon.

A:IE 7 giving problems

Hi bearbear,

please try running IE7 without addons to see if the same happens:

- Click Start -> Run -> type:
iexplore -extoff
- Click OK
- Test with a few sites to see it the same problem occurs...please bear in mind that when you run IE with no addons, some website will cease to work as normal if they depend on certain addons. Ignore any new problems, just try to concentrate on the original issue and post back your findings please.

If that doesn't give any results, it may be an idea to temporary disable your firewall for a little bit and run IE in its normal mode. Some firewalls include features which affect how webpages load and are displayed so it could be a configuration problem. Remember to re-enable your firewall when you have finished testing.

Have you previously upgraded from IE6 to version 7? If yes, did these problem used to happen previously?

I recently noticed that the system was trying to do 7 updates every day at closedown, and found that update was giving a return code of 800736b3.

I have run SURT several times, and it doesn't seem to give any results (or should I be looking somewhere else?).

I ran sfc /scannow and extracted the results and they are in sfcdetails.txt (attached). SFC said there were some files it couldn't fix, even though sfcdetails.txt says it has fixed all of them.

CBS.zip is much too big to upload using the paperclip - is there another way?

I tried restoring to an earlier restore point, and unfortunately all the attempted updates have flushed my list of restore points - and the oldest few all give me a return code of x00000022.

Not sure if this is one problem or two...! I am reluctant to do a System Recovery as it sounds pretty drastic - help would be much appreciated!

I noticed a few days ago that my computer, which is 2.6 ghz with 1 GB ram and runs windows XP, was running incredibly slowly. I ran all the virus scans I could get my hands on. Some worm or other was killed, and one of the scans detected a virus called "java-bytever.a". So, I did a search for the files infected with that virus and manually deleted them (since none of my other AV programs were detecting them). But my computer is still very slow, and what's worse, now when my Norton Antivirus runs its bi-daily scan, instead of scanning the usual 100,000 or so files, it's now scanning 2.5 million files!! And the number of files is getting higher.

According to NAV, I have a folder called "recycler" that I can't find on my computer, even with a search. Also, most of these extra hundreds of thousands of files are in:

c:\program files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin

I can't access this folder even through command.com, because I keep getting a "cyclic redundancy check" error message. I can't uninstall Java because when I go into add/remove programs and select Java, it says it's "gathering info" for about 30 minutes, when it times out! And when I try to simply delete the whole folder, I get a prompt telling me that my c: drive isn't formatted and would I like to format it now!!??

I'm at my wit's end! I've tried Norton, Panda, Trent, and Bitprotector, and none of them are detecting any problems.... Read more

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below. Also if you have any programs that may prevent system changes (like Spybot's TeaTimer program, Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, and others), make sure you disable them before doing any of the fixes (or accept the changes for the fix we give you when asked by the programs).

Go to My Computer->Tools (or View)->Folder Options->View tab:
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders (it's Show all files for Windows 98).
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm and then click OK.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Perform an online scan with Internet Explorer with Panda ActiveScan

Unless you regularly go to a website that uses Java, I suggest you follow the directions at this link and uninstall it. There have been security issues recently with Java and it is rarely used by most websites. There may be a few games that use it but most users don't need Java and it seems to be a nuisance.

Ever since I installed Windows 7 and IE 9 my computer has been giving me fits. Pages and games load extremely slow and I have to refresh constantly. Windows live mail is a nightmare as it takes over 2 minutes to load an email just so that I can delete it. Can I uninstall IE 9 without causing any problems on my computer? And will it revert back to IE 8? I'm thinking that IE 9 is what is giving me such problems and I have heard that it causes a lot of problems with other programs and games. I scan and defrag all the time so I know that isn't my problem with too much junk on the computer. Any help would be appreciated.

A:Windows 7 and IE 9 giving me problems

Yes, you can uninstall IE9 and you will then have IE8.

A:i need help with a game that is giving me problems

If it'll run in W2K it should run in XP.

Have you tried using the Program Compatibility Wizard and running it in W2K mode?

If that doesn't work, then it may be a problem with the install of the game. Have you checked the properties of the shortcut to make sure that it actually points at the game's executable file?

Since reformatting my hard drive, I have been unable to get Diskeeper Lite to run once I restart my PC. I have tried removing remnants of it's previous installation but to no avail. (In case you're interested, this is the error message I get when I try to open it:
"Unable to connect to the Diskeeper service in the selected machine. Connecting to the local Diskeeper service.")

No one appears to know how to resolve this problem, so I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to have to use another defrag program. Does anyone have a suggestions for a free defrag program I can use please?

I occasionally get these blue lines going across the screen. The lines are all over the monitor, but there`s an especially irritating one that`s following my mouse pointer as I speak. It resembles the tail of Halley`s comet, and is a disturbance when trying to WORK on the computer.
Can anyone tell me what exactly is the problem? Is it my video card, is it the monitor itself, or is it, gulp, the motherboard?

A:Monitor giving me problems

Well, it's not the motherboard, unless your video card is built in.

Could be the monitor or the video card.

Only realy way to be sure is to try a different monitor, or try your monitor on another computer.

My other comp was working fine, but there was a spark in the power supply but it was still working for awhile, except I'd have to fight with it to get it to turn on. So I bought a new power supply, much stronger than what it was before, changed all the memory as well.
NOW... it turns on, but the HDD doesn't spin or anything, and when it finishes loading past the bios and all that, all it shows is a black screen that says "boot error, please insert system disk and retry" and when I install my winXP cd, it loads enuff to get to the screen where i can choose to repair or install anew, and when i choose either it says that windows cannot detect a HDD.

What could the problem be ?

A:Second comp is giving me problems too, help !

Hard drive

your hard drive is probably ruined. You could make a reformat disk and see if you can reformat the hard drive to get it to work. But it probably was damaged by the spark. The reformat disk can be found somewhere on the internet.

Hello! It's been a while since I have been on here (which is a good thing, right?). But I recently upgraded my operating system to Windows 10. Since then, I have been having some issues. I will not get into all of them for now, when I had no issues with Photobucket before, I am now.

When I go there, I do not remember how to delete an individual picture or all of them or how to create an album. Photobucket is important to me because many websites (maybe even this one) may require a URL instead of browsing and uploading a JPEG to this site this may be very important to show you what I see on my screen.

Let me give you a URL here from photobucket because I want to delete all these pics from a car that we sold.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone able to view this?

Any suggestions?

I was also having Avast going crazy on me so I un-installed and re-installed Firefox, so we'll see if my internet problems go away and all other issues after I upgraded 3 days ago.

Thanks again!

I have this really strange problem with my PC that keeps happening several times per week.

There are a handfull of my favorite sites, (GOOGLE, CBS SPORTSLINE, WEB-ATTACK and even TSG FORUMS) that when I try and go to them.... the status bar will flash a few times and then I get the page with cannot find server where they say there may be problems with the site.

When this happens.... I cannot access these sites even manually by typing in the addy..... It's ONLY these four sites that do this. This happens several times per week.

Usually, I can fix this by going into CP/add-remove programs/ and choosing the option to REPAIR IE 6. Sometimes I have to repeat the process a few times, but it will fix the prob.

This is so damn annoying. These 4 sites just happen to be the ones I visit the most, so it's a real pain to me.

I regularly clean out my temporary internet files, history etc.... and have all the spyware controllers like AD-AWARE, SPYBOT, etc... etc... and use them on a regular basis.

I have even had a laptop running along with my desktop and all 4 sites load just fine..... so there is no trouble with the sites.

Any educated guesses as to what may be happening here? Why only these 4 sites, and why can I fix it most of the time by repairing IE6? And... most importantly, how can I fix it PERMANENTLY? because it's driving me nuts to have to fix it all the time.

Thanks in advance

Windows XP-SP3I have a gmail account. I installed Picasa from google website. Version is Inadequate options for scanning pictures. There are only two options for Picasa to scan for pictures - My Documents or the entire drive. Is there no way to select a specific partition where the pictures of interest are?2. Every attempt at uploading 4 pictures has failed so far, like this:I select the pictures, they end up at the bottom, I click Share, hourglass appears for a very long time, there is no activity in the router, eventually a message window comes up saying that the upload failed, shows a blue link for error, which says 'post URL not found'. Bottom line: upload fails, so obviously the URL link can't exist.I signed out from Google Account (in the upper right corner) and tried to sign back in, as this is what Help suggests, but I get a blank window to Login, which subsequently says that I'm not connected to the internet which is not correct. TCPview clearly shows and established connection all along. Hmm, maybe it is correct once I logged out.I tried every possible way to Upload, Bulk upload, Share, even Sync, whatever I could find - all with identical results.I'm ready to ditch it and try to find something that allows me to easily drag'n drop out of any directory I please, without all that local scanning, and that allows easy viewing for others to whom I send a link. But I thought I'd ask here first. I am beyond the veil of anger with this. I believe something is wrong with my DirectX 11 on Windows 8.1, and I don't know how to fix it. I would go to play certain games, and it would pop up an error message saying "Cannot Set Display Mode" or something similar to that. I get the feeling it's DirectX, as I had recently updated it, but did nothing to interfere. I have spent the last week (literally) trying to fix this, and everything has failed. I understand that DirectX 11 comes with Windows 8 and everything, but when Windows doesn't even realize that it's malfunctioning (DXDiag did not work, nor did the thousands of Runtime Installers I tried), something is definitely wrong. I would appreciate any help at this point. Thanks in advance.

A:DirectX is giving me problems.

Recheck/reinstall or update drivers, a lot of interaction between drivers and DirectX goes in there. Some older games do not like or recognize new DirectX. Try to run them in compatibility mode.

I have a HP Presario C700 laptop. Os Win7 home 32bit. When I 1st turn the laptop on cold everything is fine. After a while the front left side of the laptop gets warm. It isn't hot enough to burn my hand. I can rest my hand there for a long time but it does get a bit uncomfortable after a while when I am playing a game.
After a while when the laptop is warmed up. Prog's that need a a lot of cpu usage and memory start slowing down and stop working. Then the prog needs to be closed and reopened. Often FireFox will stop working right in the middle of doing something. Thank the makers of FireFox for putting in a sub routine in that lets FireFox go right back to were ever I was (even if I am in the middle typing a post and I don't lose what I already typed) after restarting the prog. Also I understand that some laptops just do that, getting warm in one spot, because of the design and layout. Is it something I just have live with until I can get a better laptop? or is it something that needs fixing and can be fixed.

OOO a ps. Sometimes, not very often, like with the current proj I am working on with a pare of SDR (Software Defined Radio) RTL USB radio dongles. I am often running 4 or 5 different prog's at the same time to decode the digital signals picked up by the receivers. Windows sometimes, not often, will get so over worked that it locks up the laptop and the only thing left to do is reboot the laptop.

A:re: laptop is giving problems after it heats up

You can try using a laptop cooler.

And to make sure of thermal throttling:
- Change to High Performance power plan - so CPU stay at max frequency
- Download and run HWInfo in sensor-only mode.
- Make sure minimum column for CPU frequency is 100% (multiplier at max), reset the readings (lower right) and keep it running in the background
- Do your thing until it gets slow, then check the frequency (multiplier) minimum to see if CPU has throttled.

Also try to vacuum the fan openings as compressed air may cause more issues with laptops since blown away dust don't have anywhere to escape.

Ive had this camera for like 2-3 years now. Only on this computer (XP), when I install it, a little icon by the time pops up and asks me if I want to install the program using the Add/Remove Feature. I always click no, since I just installed it using the CD.

Then I would go into my computer, and there would be 2 Kodak icons. I dont know why... but I would click one and it wouldnt work. Then I would click the other and it would always work. Well today I need to get some pictures uploaded asap and I open up My Computer and there was only 1 Kodak icon. I clicked it and of course, it said the camera wasn't plugged in-- when it was.

I cant reinstall it since I dont have the disc. What are my other choices? Is there something else I could download that would read the USB port and let me open up my pictures?

Please Help-- I appreciate it.
