Preferred Solution: APPCRASH c0000005฿c0000096 please help! my Vista error all days , how to fix it?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi!

Hope someone is able to solve the problem, thanks in advance!
Edit: Silly me forgot to search forums, looks like some guy solved the problem by installing SP1. Going to try that first.

Hi, notsavvy, and welcome to the forums.

Glad you figured it out - although you might want to do some hardcore malware testing to make sure you aren't infected with something that is infecting downloads as they are written to disk....

Might I also recommend Fx 3.1 B2 - it's a lot faster than Fx 3.0.x and most extensions / addons work well, since you have the option to override compatibility if it does not work the first time around....

Hi - it's been covered a million times, but once more with feeling, please!
Our Toshiba laptop is running Vista SP1, and the ParishSoft app is getting an appcrash. The app has been uninstalled, the old registry entries cleaned out, then reinstalled, but I get the same error. How do I repair, please? I see something called Regcure getting hits in Google, is that a safe way to repair the issue? Thanks, jo

We don't recommend the use of registry cleaners here. There's a pinned topic at the top of this forum that explains why.

The error occurs while msvbvm60.dll is accessing memory improperly.
Does the application crash and go away - or does it stay running and not doing anything?

If the latter, right click on the psFamilyDir.exe process in Task Manager...Processes tab and select "Create dump file". This will generate a dump file that we can analyze. It'll be pretty big, so open up a free account at http://www.box.net, share it, then post a link to it here (so we can download and analyze it). This is only good if the psFamilyDir.exe process remains after the crash.

If not, then I'd suggest uninstalling all of the Microsoft .NET stuff in Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program. Then visit Windows Update and reinstall it (it'll likely be under Optional Updates).

If you have any problems with this, post back and we'll see what else we can do.

I'm running Windows 7 Home, 64 bit
Laptop with i7 2.4 gHz and nVidia GeForce GT 630M, 1 GB memory, and 6 GB RAM.

Almost all games do not work on my computer. I've been trying to install a new game, and everything crashes instantly. The installers for each game also crash; some games I was able to install through a torrent or direct download client. However they all crash when I open them. For example, Raiderz, Tera, Dragons Nest, and C9 downloaders all crashed for me. C9 didn't work for me after I had installed it (instant crash with C0000005 error) and it didn't work through steam either (same error). They close instantly, before I am able to interact with the window. Pando Media Booster and Nexon Game Manager also crash with this same error.

I did manage to get Raiderz to work after I direct downloaded a set up and installed that. However, C9 still didn't even after I had installed it.

I've tried changing compatibility modes and running as administrator. I also updated my DirectX and my video card drivers.

Can anyone resolve this issue? Or direct me to a place where it has been solidly resolved? I've been researching this problem all day, to no avail.

Perhaps some games that do work may help: Dota 2 and League of Legends are games I've played recently that will work.

Dungeon Defenders
Dark Age of Camelot

Heroes of Might and Magic V
Dead Island

Nix131,

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

I am running a program on two seprate datasets which calls a script in a .exe format. The crash only happens when I try to run on the larger of the two. I have read through many of the c0000005 posts and have run the memory checker (no problems) scannow (no problems) and restored to a point when I thought it last worked. Is this just an out of memory crash? The smaller of the datasets runs just fine. I have not had this error in any other capacity on this machine.

Thank you

Dear all,

I have some random crashing going on and I have no idea what to do anymore.

Error messages show Kernelbase.dll and C0000005. The crashes happen while playing different games. So far no BSOD, just crash to windows. BSOD happened before reinstalling windows and replacing my ram and HDD.

Besides that, when starting my PC I have to choose between 2 versions of Windows 7. This, after formatting the HDD that the previous version was installed on. only after formatting the HDD I installed a fresh version of windows 7 on a newly bought SSD. When going in windows using the 1st option of the 2 windows 7 options I can pick, it also showed the HDD to be empty in windows.

I also bought new 16GB ram to make sure its not defective memory.

Besides the above, I also have:
- Ran CCleaner and Registry mechanic until no errors were shown anymore.

My system:

Windows: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Motherboard: Asus P8P67 Evo
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 (latest drivers)
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
SSD: Sandisk 128 GB
RAM: 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL10 DIMM (Kit of 2) XMP HyperX Blu

Hi, all of your minidumps point to ntkrpamp.exe which is a Windows file. Crashes in that file are usually from faulty memory. Download Mem test from the downloads section and let it run overnight. If you find errors remove one memory module at a time and run the test again to determine which module is faulty.

STOP 0x3b is a system service exception - check to ensure that anything "extra" installed for the games is functioning properly.

In your msinfo32.nfo file there are a lot of PnP errors with todays date. Although you don't display the usual symptoms for this error - please check your Windows Updates to see if you have KB973879 installed. If so, please uninstall it and check to see if that helps things out.

On system running XP problem with various applications not starting up (AOL, roadmap software etc.) with display of above error. Have not installed new software. Error occurs as soon as system attempts to start the program. Also it is not possible to uninstall or reinstall AOL (for instance).
Going back to system status as of a week previous allowed at least reloading of AOL. But then then the same problem recurred.

Any ideas for the not very computer literate?
Is it worth trying out one of these services, which purport to find dll errors and fix them?

Any help appreciated.

Every time i try to acces the slideshow application in the photoshops elements i get an error warning. Closing Photoshop elements. Adobe Photoshop Elements has encountered a problem and needs to close. Error code C0000005 Address 60cbb311, or 60cbb2fi. Then the program terminates. I have tried repairing the program, uninstalled it and reinstalled it all with no effect. The address numbers change but that's it..otherwise the program seems to work. As long as i don't try to access the slideshow portion. I've also noticed that my Ms Picture it! Publishing Platinum is no longer working either. Tried scanning for virus's and the like, it comes up clean. I have an older pc and its running windows xp. I know that the slideshow part of the program did work at one time but i never really used it besides toying with it until lately..the photoshop program is an older one but i bought it outright, it had never been installed until i put it on my pc. Any ideas or help would be appreicated, thanks in advance.

Hello all, I'm new to the forums here as I can normally troubleshoot and problems myself, but I've been having a hard time resolving this issue.

I've recently upgraded my motherboard, processor and RAM to an ASUS Z87-K, Intel i5-4670K, and Corsair XMS3 1x8GB, and ever since I have been experiencing what appear to be video card related crashes. I am using a Zotac Geforce GTX 560 AMP, and a Corsair 750w PSU and did not have issues before the upgrade. The computer will crash to desktop while playing high performance games, sometimes almost immediately, sometimes after an hour or two. This results in an event log message like this:

I know this sub-forum is normally used for BSOD issues, but I'm not sure if this issue fits in the other sub-forums any better than this one.

For at least a month now, various programs have been crashing with error code c0000005, and I'm not sure how to fix the issue.

I've already run Memtest86 a few times, and I received no errors from the tests I ran.

I've uploaded the latest minidump crash from a program called MusicBee (I no longer have the other minidumps), along with the rest of the files produced from DM Log Collector Tool (HOME-Fri_07_22_2016__12235_99.zip).

I've been getting this error for a couple of months, over 20 times in all. The two common situations in which it usually happens are:
1) Browsing in Chrome, particularly when there are many windows and tabs open.
2) While computer is idle.
Except for the very first time this happened, it points to file aswSnx.sys, address FFFFF8800????AD1, where the ???? can vary

I attach the SFdebug file.

All of the crashes I saw point to Avast as the culprit. Looking at the module in particular, it's up to date, but it's still the cause nonetheless.

Personally, I wouldn't use Avast. If you have to run antivirus (I don't run any) then use something that has hundreds of millions of engineering dollars behind it. Such as McAfee or Symantec. I know these comments will likely get me a lot of heat, but they're just my opinion.

If you want to post links to some full memory dumps I'd be happy to look further to see if another driver might be stepping on top of the Avast driver. As it is right now, some action in user mode invokes a call to aswSnx.sys (likely through services.exe) which results in an unrecoverable exception.

It's this instruction here that causes the bugcheck:

aswSnx+0x2cad1:

NeighborI tried to add a Skype account recently.  Now internet explorer will not connect to his isp so that he can retrieve his email...apparently something went astray in his registry.  I do not know whether the addition of the Skype account caused this or what.  Trying to help.  Tried CCcleaner with no result.  Ran Malwarebytes.  Anyone else had this problem?

A:internet explorer will not connect to my isp Error c0000005

This sounds most unusual, a lot of problems which might not be related or might have happened at the same time by coincidence. Has a browser other than IE been tried? Have other computers attempted to connect along the same connection?
Skype is simply a video over internet protocol VOIP program, it might increase your bandwidth use quite a bit but shouldn't cause any other issues with general connectivity.

so i go to the SFC details to check the corrupted files and i found multiple files which says:
1) cannot repair member file
2) could not reproject corrupted files
On the end of both these lines following text was written: "Hash mismatch"
what should i do now?

Hi all,

One of our users is on a Vista PC on our work domain. He has a Sharp MX-2700N (Colour Network printer/copier/scanner) multi-function added, which defaults to B&W prints. When he opens up word, and goes to print properties to change to colour printing, word crashes and we get the following error codes shown in the attached jpeg images...

...our IT team is a bit baffled, does anyone have any ideas or experienced a similar or same problem?

Any help much appreciated as we only have 3 Vista PC's out of a domain network of over 500 PCs!

Hi. . .

The one line in the error message that you posted that provides a clue is the Exception Code of c0000005 and tells us that a memory access violation has occurred and is blaming it on the Microsoft driver ntdll.dll. This could mean that the memory address was out-of-bounds at the time (protected) or that the address is just plain bad. Obviously, the application running at the time of the crash was grid.exe.

Most likely, ntdll.dll was utilized for a system query of some kind by grid.exe or a component it failed - not ntdll.dll.

You mentioned that you saw a black screen - was it the command prompt ("DOS") screen? Is grid.exe an installed program or a stand alone executable? Is grid Vista Sp1 x64 compatible?

Finally, what anti-virus & firewall are you using?

It's the Western Digital Sync application that's crashing (it's a heap corruption in your memory that caused it).

You should still be able to access the drive (and manipulate the files).
When trying this, do not launch the WDSync application
Access the files through Windows Explorer and manipulate them from there.

Once your data is safe, we can attempt to fix the errors with the WDSync application. Post back to let us know.

I receive the following errors when attempting to synch my iPods or iPhones with iTunes. After synching just a handful of songs, I get an "iTunes has stoppoed working error". It does not happen with my AppleTV however. Also, note that I can keep it from happening if I simply start the iTunes Diagnostics tool and leave it on the screen while it updates the iPod. I came across this workaround by chance but it is obviously annoying.

Before you ask me the obvious, I have completely uninstalled iTunes, Quicktime and anything that I could find relevant to iTunes including the iTunes database, music, everything! Something persists however because I cannot get rid of the error.

Hi. . .

I moved your post to a new thread here - all yours.

I see an exception code of 0xc0000005 - memory access violation. These are many times caused by anti-virus & 3rd party firewalls.

If 3rd party firewall exists, I suggest you get rid of it along w/ a/v installation. Use Windows firewall and 1 anti-virus product only.

I can let explorer close, then access task manager, so I'm still able to work with the system. I just haven't been able to find an actual fix anywhere online. I've done a lot of Google searches and come up with nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You may have to try to perform these actions in safe mode if you cannot boot any other way?

Did it start after Windows updates?

Go to event viewer (type those words in search) then go to administrative secrion and look for errors about that time.

What were you doing when this happened? Is there any common activity during the crashes?

Recently I bought a new computer (HP DV5-1140TX Pavillion Laptop) with Vista Home Premium SP2 and installed MS Office 2007. Everything was working fine for a couple months but just recently I tried to open Word using the desktop shortcut and Word would open and load documents but the mouse had no affect. I couldn't highlight text, the cursor didn't work and I couldn't right click. Then when I closed Word I'd get an error message indicating that Word was having problems and couldn't continue. The message was APPCRASH which seems to happen a lot on Vista.

Other Office applications seem to work OK except with Excel I can't select multiple cells using the Ctrl key.

I've searched Microsoft's help and support pages and found nothing that seems to relate to this problem. My MS Office updates are current. Has anyone else had this problem and, more importantly, were you able to fix it? I ran repair but that didn't help.

Outlook was giving me the occassional APPCRASH but for some reason that has disappeared, but I can't export my stored mail to a PST file but can to a CSV. I also get an occassional APPCRASH on Adobe Bridge.

There was a similar post recently but it expired with no replies.

I've checked the Startup applications and couldn't see anything that shouldn't be there.

A:Winword Appcrash Vista + Other Errors

I don't have Office 2007 and my OS is Win XP (hate Vista), but have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling MSO 2007. Doing that may remove your personal settings, but should fix the Word and Excel problems.

All of the errors are memory access errors ( Exception Code: c0000005 )
So, I'd suggest starting with this:

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:

HELP! My computer had a virus and I repaired it and it deleted the infected file. Gues what the file was? The WININET.DLL - When that happened everything went bonkers. Now I cannot open anything from the desktop, control panels do not come up. ZERO! Any ideas to start working through this slowly?

Thank you so much

A:I am getting clobbered by Vista APPCRASH and EXPLORER SHUTDOWN

Probably because wininet.dll is a system file and deleting it throws a serious wrench in Vista's entire Internet API. Redownload it and move it to the appropriate folder (C:\Windows\system32), reboot, and see what happens.

Hi there! I posted this issue in the Vista forum, but then after further research, the little I found pointed me to the possibility of a worm or trojan of some sort, but I don't know how to proceed.

The issue:

I updated my Vista Ultimate system (AMD Phenom 9350e Quad-Core 2Ghz, 4 GB RAM, 64-bit)
to SP1, and explorer.exe would crash every time I logged into Windows. Using task manager, I managed to download and install SP2, thinking it would solve the issue, but I'm having the same problem. As soon as Windows loads, I get an error like this:

I was able to get the Sigil program to run without errors by ensuring "Windows Aero" was not selected in "Windows Color and Appearance". I did tun it on today rebooted, turned off, rebooted; but the 'sfc' items are still showing as unrepairable.
