Yoga 13 replacement parts

Q: Yoga 13 replacement parts

Hi, I have a faulty Yoga 13 which does not switch on and no lights are on. The last time I was using it, the battery was getting a little low so I plugged in the charger. It went dead immediately with no lights showing and I was unable to switch it on with or without mains power plugged in. I tried with 2 new chargers with no success. So I want to find out the best way to diagnose the fault and look to replace any non working parts in the most cost effective way as I don't really want to throw the laptop away. Which parrs are most likely to have failed and what order should I try to replace them? Thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi Folks,  I was a bit of dumbass over the summer and spilled a small amount of whiskey on my system and killed the keyboard; Not a huge deal as I usually leave the system hooked up to my tv and use a remote keyboard, and when I use it mobile, I can use the onscreen keyboard, although this last is a bit of a pain..  I've tried contacting encompass but they don't seem to sell replacement keyboards; does anyone happen to know where else actually sells replacement keyboards. Biggest problem seems to be that it's a standard Canadian/Bilingual keyboard. I'm able to find US keyboard replacements, but the layout is different so won't fit with the current top plate, and I'd much rather avoid have to replace the whole thing (20$ keyboard vs something like $160 for keyboard and top plate....)  Any help would be appreciated, but if I cant actually find something that should be a relatively easy part to replace, this will be my last Lenovo item unfortunately.Steph S.

I have been very stupid and managed to break the door protecting the RJ45 connector. Since this is also the part that allows any ethernet cable to be plugged in, I would like to buy a replacement part. On most Lenovo laptops, the door and its FRU number is specified in the parts list of the relevant Hardware Maintenance Manual. This is unfortunately not the case on the Yoga 500-14ACL Laptop (ideapad). Does anyone here know how I can get my hands on a replacement or maybe come up with an alternative solution? Thanks! Laptop: Yoga 500-14ACL Laptop (ideapad)Machine Type Model: 80NA002NMXProblem in picture:

My PC has been fine for 2 and a half years now, I've never had a part overheat or stop working, but I still don't have any replacement parts. So I'm not looking for duplicates (especially since my motherboard is now out of stock and/ or prohibitively expensive), but upgraded parts still compatible with my current gpu and RAM, primarily a motherboard, as these seem to be the parts I've heard of shorting out the most. I don't need SLI or RAID, I just need something reliable that isn't huge and expensive. Hopefully if one piece has a problem it doesn't short out any others.

I think the rest of the parts are fine.

A:Replacement parts

It's going to be hard to recommend anything without knowing what you currently have. Having an extra power supply on hand would be a good idea. I've only lost one motherboard in the last 15 years so mine tend to last until they're replaced.

Hello, I would like to know if there is a possibility to get spare parts, namely a cpu cooler (or fan) and a keyboard (azerty) for the HP Pavilion DV7 2020eb laptop. Now, this isn't one of the most recent laptops but it functions for browsing and watching movies which is all we need it for so i wouldn't like to spend too much on these parts. Does HP offer this kind of support? Thanks in advance!

I just upgraded my old Intel duo core 2.8GHz, ASUS mb, and ocz memory to an Intel 2500k, MSI mb, and G skill 8gb memory, and starting up it freezes after the bar goes across twice every time. Trying to boot in safe mode gets me a list of loaded drivers and then it just freezes, i've let it sit for 10 minutes waiting (supposed to take 30 seconds i hear) but nothing. I thought the memory might not be compatible with the board (which i forgot to check out before hand), and i found the specific model # doesnt appear on MSI's website, but there are identical part numbers except for the last two letters which are XL. I just thought about taking one of them out and trying to start up with just one but its to late for that. Anyone think that will work or have any other ideas? Oh and i am upgrading to windows 7 so i put the install disk in to try it as well and it froze on the loading screen as soon as the first red dot appeared. I also ran the memory test on the MSI boot menu and returned no errors, and i ran the memory test from the windows 7 boot disk but found no errors. Kinda perplexing non? anymore info i will have to post tomorrow afternoon.

Hello there!
(I'm new to this forum, so I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place.)

With the holidays coming up and Cyber Monday coming within a few days, I was hoping to get some help figuring out which parts on my computer to upgrade for a new gaming tower that I purchased recently. After I purchased the tower, I realized upon receiving it that some of my current parts would not be compatible with it. I haven't been able to use it since I got it in the mail and I thought now would be a good time to look into getting new parts that are compatible with it, mainly a new motherboard and (if necessary) processor. I'm not totally new to the experience of installing new computer components, but I do have a difficult time finding the right parts that will work with all my existing parts for a good and affordable price.

Anyway, the tower I purchased recently is the Phantom 410 by NZXT (https://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/95-phantom-410-mid-tower-case.html)

Here are the tech specs for the tower (which are also available on the link I posted earlier):

Last week we had a nasty storm and it looks like my PC has been zapped.  I contacted insurance and they need will eventually need a parts list to price out a replacement.  This is tough to find because I bought this rig (Studio XPS 9100) back in 2010.  I have been unable to find any clear parts or replacement pricing information on the Dell website.  Can anyone help me out?
I would basically need the replacement price from the manufacturer (DELL) for the stock motherboard, CPU (i7-930), CPU fan and heatsink, power supply (525W), and hard drive (500gb 7200rpm).

A:Scanner motherboard and replacement parts.

You'd probably be better off buying a new (used) scanner (you'd probably have to get parts from HP - if there's nothing on ebay). Thats a pretty expensive scanner to be taking parts from. You might want to find a cheaper one off of ebay to take apart (im not sure what all you're doing with them, so it may or may not work).

Hello good fellas! I hope you will be able to help me out with my problem, because it drives me crazy!

The PC is mainly used by my parents (YouTube, Facebook, movies, etc.). The configuration was pretty slow (nothing was changed for 6 years or so), but was just fine for them. MSI motherboard with Intel? Pentium? Processor E2160 and 2GB of DDR2 RAM. Unfortunately, the motherboard has died (I guess so). So I thought it's time to build a quite-modern PC for them. I have left good parts (Samsung hard drive and Corsair power supply).

The "refreshed" PC configuartion is as follow ("+" indicates brand new part):
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H (+)
CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 (+)
CPU cooling: provided with CPU (+)
Memory: GoodRam 2 x 4GB DDR3-1600 Dual Channel CL9 (+)

Power Supply: Corsair VX450W
Hard Drive: Samsung HD501LJ

and last:
Thermal paste: Arctic MX-2 1g (+)

After assembly, I have installed necessary drivers from the DVD (witch came with motherboard) and everything seemed to be OK. Unfortunately, after leaving PC for some time on idle, I got blue screen with error code 124. I had completly no idea, what could cause this problem. First thought was low CPU Vcore, which may be getting to low for stable work. CPUID HWMonitor (screenshot below) confirmed very low CPU Vcore values.

However, I have done a little more research (including sevenforums.com ) and downloaded BlueScreenView.exe, prime95.exe and RealTemp. I have read recommendatio... Read more

A:Waiting for repair - missing replacement parts

Unfortunately, some of the cheap Chinese made parts used in Lenovo laptops of late are of such low quality that they fail quite often, so even Lenovo cannot keep up with demand, and with the Thinkpad 460, its noisy defective fan issue is well known, so it will proably take some time to get it fixed.

Hi Widget,

To be honest I doubt that somebody here can tell you the part number from this cable. It?s only an user to user forum where you can talk with normal people like you and me.

In my opinion you should contact nearest authorized service provider in your country. On the Toshiba website you can find a list of them:

Firstly, and importantly my good 'ol 1920x1080 monitor is on the way out. It is getting urgent I replace this first and soon.  But it needs to work well with my next Dell system too!  So, I am starting from this position.
I am suggesting a replacement with a 24-27" monitor that can handle 4-5k Colour. However I note that some people seem to be advocating staying with a good 1920x1080 display for sizes under 27" and forgetting 5K. However, I can afford to get a higher pixel count as long as I can resize things to make it readable on the screen. A must is that it will work well with the next Dell system that I intend to get in first/second quarter of 2018.

So I spilled coffee on my laptop, over the keyboard. I turned it off immediately, took out the power, but stupidly left the battery in. I wiped it dry, left it a couple of hours, then tried turning it on. It started for a second then turned off again. Yes I now realise what a idiot I am for doing this.

So I opened it up, cleared out all the excess coffee. I had only spilled the coffee on the left hand side of the keyboard, and directly underneath this area is the the fan which didn't seem to have any residue on it, and the power board assembly. The motherboard was on the otherside of the laptop and free from harm.

So having cleaned it out as much as possible and let it dry out for days, I try turning it on and it won't even start up. I'm thinking that I may have messed up by turning it on after only a few hours, and with pic related being directly underneath and probably covered in coffee, it short circuited and ruined it.

My question is does this mean the entire motherboard and electrical components of the laptop are defective? Bearing in mind no coffee was spilled on the motherboard. Or might it mean only this particular component, the power board/switch assembly which connects the power button to the motherboard, is broken? Will replacing this part alone be enough to salvage my laptop?

A:Spilled coffee on laptop, question about replacement parts

1. Welcome to Tech Support Guy
2. As you say - easy to do but a rather expensive cup of coffee
3. Such a problem is I am sorry to say impossible to solve - in an online situation - the only advise that I can offer is
If you are not technically knowledgeable enough to dismantle the laptop and check circuits with a meter - not of course with power connected - then it is a lost cause until you evaluate the cost effectiveness of paying for a computer repair business to evaluate it.
Coffee - water is of course a conductor and will effectively short live to earth - anything could have gone.
SORRY but a real and effective analysis will require professional test equipment and IMHO depending on local rates - you are talking about something in the order of 30 just to tell you it is a lost cause.
Unless it is a valuable - newish laptop I would think your best is to take out the HDD and see if that is a run connected to another computer in an enclosure or docking station

Hi,

I was recently the victim of a power surge that fried my multi-adapter plug.

When I tried to boot my system lter and the LEDs in the case flashed for a second, and went dead. I then stripped the whole computer (even taking apart the PSU). Once I put everything together again, the system booted fine again. There was no indication that the system sustained damage and everything functioned as usual.

Later while playing BF4 I noticed that There was some type of lag, where the graphics would momentarily hang en then "rubberband" back...hardy noticeable. I contributed this to internet lag. Then I noticed that this also happened in offline games, however not always. I then made peace with the idea that some components might have taken damage from the power surge and ordered a new mobo, chip and ram.
The only parts I did not change out was the HDDs and the PSU and the GPU.

Granted the I upgraded from an old phenom II 955 the NEW MSI Z87-G43 GAMING LGA 1150 Intel mobo required both the 4Pin "CPU" connectors from the power supply. That being the only notable difference between old and new configurations, I assembled the new components and tried to boot the PC.

As soon as I hit the power button, the mobo LEDs, the Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 8GB LED's and Corsair 800 GS lights up and the system fans spin to life, however there is no image on the screen. Nothing.

I then Removed my Powercolor 7950 3GB and connected the DMI connector to... Read more

hi all ,this is my first post :-) I have a yoga2 pro (20266  model) in which I have basically two problems: one seems connected with overheating which causes system instability and a series of different BSOD errors in win 8.1 and the other is about the webcam which is not detected anymore (in win 8,1 but also in lubuntu 18.04)About the overheating: also in "balanced mode" fans are almost always on, and it was not the case before.I am currently handling it by switching to  power saver mode with passive system cooling policies (ie, basically reduce cpu performance before using fans)  which usually brings cpu cores temperature down by 15-20 Celsius degrees (ie from 65-70 to about 50 degrees), GPU is usually around 45-50. No issues of that sort when using Lubuntu 18.04, system stays silent: I also tried to open the laptop and clean the air vents/fans with compressed air but without disassemblying them: for what I could see some dust/lint were there, but apparently not in large amounts. I am aware that I should probably disassemble the parts in order to clean them more thoroughly and perhaps applying new thermal paste, but I am intimidated by the connectors/parts which are unfamiliar to me. I also have considered malware and scanned for it but my impression is that the cooling system is simply unable to handle full performance mode for more than 1-2 minutes, sometimes even less. So, the questions: are there official lenovo videos for parts replacement/removal fo... Where can I find a battery for my Lenovo Yoga 2.11 notebook?    I don't know the part number and this website doesn't have any information on my notebook except these 2 numbers below.  Serial # :    MYB05324089Machine Type Model:   80GB59417911 I  realize it is a 5 year old notebook, but I like it. and all it needs is a new battery.   Is there a service center anywhere near San Antonio TX?  Can I buy  a battery myself online and have it shipped to me? Also, is there any way to contact an actual Customer Service Person by email, phone, or live chat?  I've been on this website for over an hour and can't find any way to contact a human directly. Thak you!

I have a new Yoga 900 and broke the screen. Called tech support and was told they will notify me when a repair screen is available. They can't tell me when the screen will be available. It's not a warranty repair because I didn't buy accident insurance. Guess they don't want my money. I just wish someone could c=give me an estimate when repair parts will be available. Spent a lot of money on this thing and cant use it. Frustrating. Not sure what part f the workd the all center is located in, India I think... :-(

My apologies that I may not have the answer you seek. But you may want to reach out to Customer Relations here in the States. Google for email addresses but there's some folks in NJ and also in Canada. In the subject line in caps put 'very unhappy customer', and in the body mention how Apple would never treat you like this. But I'm a might curious...how did you break the screen? I just got my Yoga this week fresh made in China.

Hello,This is probably a very simplistic question to all you techies out there :-) I have a Lenovo Yoga 700 14iSK, 3 years old and which has just stopped working due to a Motherboard issue. I was looking online and was thinking it would be good if I could somehow buy a cheaper Yoga, say a 310 (Intel Celeron) with a lower spec and then use the existing SDD and RAM (CPU?) in it or, is the architecture going to be too tightly bound to the 310? Thanks

A:General query about using parts from one Yoga in another

Welcome to the forum.

What you're asking is possible in principle, however, it may not work out in practice. For example:

1. RAM in many systems these days is soldered to the motherboard. If this is the case in either the Y700 or the Y310 then you're out of luck.
2. Even if you can physically move the RAM it must be of the same type and speed.
(The Y700 DDR3L RAM while the Y310 uses DDR4, so it won't work.)

3. You may be able to move the SSD providing it's the same physical type.
(Some Y700 models came with 2.5" SSDs. The Y310 has a drive bay for this type of drive. So if the Y310 has only a HDD in that bay you could upgrade it to an SSD from the Y700.)

Of course if the Y310 has a slower processor and only 4GB of RAM then even with an SSD it may not run as fast as the Y700 with a new motherboard. Perhaps replacing the motherboard on the Y700 with a second-hand motherboard from eBay, etc. would be a better option.

So I have been searching and searching and searching on information of a possible whitlist for our devices.  Ihave seen another thread talking about this on a different X series laptop. And that had a link in it to another thread that also discussed it as well. But, if any one knows if our X1 Yogas have a white list on any part and connector to part list.

A:X1 Yoga WWAN & WAN Whitelist parts?

Good day.

I believe this: https://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/x1yoga_frubom_20160107.pdf
is what you seek. Please see the last page.

Hope this helps.

So... I bought a Lenovo Yoga 710 (Model: 80TX) from Best Buy a couple of days ago. I bought it brand new (not open-box, refurbished or anything like that). I noticed that the exterior sides of both hinges (the side closest to the edge of the laptop for both hinges)  look exposed and I feel like there should be a little plastic piece or something covering the exposed side of the hinge. The reason I find this weird is because the interior sides of both hinges DO have a little black piece of plastic covering them. Also, one other thing to note - the "." key on my keyboard keeps on popping off very easily. See the attached pictures for reference. SO... what do you think? Is this normal and I'm just being too critical? Is this a mistake on Lenovo's side? Did Best Buy sell me a used laptop? I appreciate all and any helpful feedback. Thanks!Exterior Side (exposed)?Exterior Side (exposed)?Interior Side (covered)?

I have a Yoga x1 gen2 I got last fall that's developed the screen banding problems that people occasionally experience.  I called in yesterday, 8/17/18 and spoke with support.  I have a 3 year onsite warranty.  Support said I would be called for the repair to be arranged.  Good. Now today, 8/18, I get an email saying the part is not available and has to be ordered.  It would be nice if a time frame were indicated, it's a work laptop.  So I call the 800 number and am told that the part will not be available until next year.  NEXT YEAR, I gasp.  The guy tells me "maybe you can send it in and get it repaired, that might be quicker." Words fail me.  Irresponsible?  Incompetent?  Dishonest?  (We are talking about "onsite repair," aren't we?)   What is going on here?  Who can I talk with about this?  The guy I spoke with was clueless.  If this is true, then we should put the word out that warranty coverage is essentially worthless.  I hope you can provide help and not condolences.

@Amy_Lenovo, @Mark_Lenovo: My Yoga 260 has developed a number of build quality issues after less than 1 year of ownership (see below). I had purchased an on-site NBD upgrade with ADP, but support tells me company policy is that if a service tech needs to repair more than one part, the device has to go into the depot. Seems a little nuts that we?d be penalized for Lenovo?s poor QC in that way. I can?t be without this unit for a week. Has anyone a) heard of this one-part policy for on-site service before, or b) had any luck getting Lenovo to service multiple parts on-site? Thanks!  My unit is suffering from the following: -Screen bezel has cracked around hinge (identical to issues described here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Thinkpad-Yoga-14-cracking-around-hinges...) -Body has cracked above pen silo (described at www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-Yoga-260-20FD001XGE-Convertible-Review.158707.0.html, https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Yoga-260-cracked-at-pen-slide-in/m-p/33...) -Hinge cover is completely loosened and clacks around (2 reports at https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/4qxkqf/i_know_people_say_that_the_yoga_260_has_a/) -A couple of my keyboard keys are mushy, and my fan is very high-pitched? I can see through the fan vent that the fan assembly foam is ?scrunched up? and not laying flat.

I've been trying to reach Lenovo customer support through phone number but nothing is working. I keep getting a dial tone and then call is hung up automatically (really frustrated how they don't even have an email address). Since I just dropped my laptop and the parts that was bent are FRUs only, I was wondering if Lenovo will still take mine in out-of-warranty (it expires on 11/28/18). Although only the two corners of the keyboard are bent, they're pretty noticeable and I'm fine with paying for repairs as long as it's reasonable. Thanks guys!

I've had this machine about about a week, so far I really like it.  Can't say yet that I love it yet, but it does what I need it to and the price is better than a tablet with the same functions and already has a keyboard.  This machine is kept in a padded case when not used in my desk drawer it does not bounce around in my briefcase etc.
This morning the left button on the touch pad does not work.  At first glance it sort of looks like it is caught on something or stuck, the right button works great a broken switch under the button is also possible but this thing doesn't move at all I'd think a switch would still move just not contact properly inside.  I need my machine and I've made a couple of upgrades like a SSD for the stock hard drive and a 8 gig ram chip, I am not thrilled about pulling those components in order to return for warranty replacement etc. as I'm pretty sure you won't be returning the same machine I sent in.  I'm considering pulling it apart to see if it is indeed stuck so it can be pushed back out from the inside but if this is a common issue with this machine I'd like to know that...
Can I be sent a new touch pad component, I believe I saw this is a separate board that attaches to the motherboard with a ribbon cable?  I'm not afraid of this procedure myself as I've been building desktops since the 90's and this is a really simple hardware to work on from the looks o... A:New week old Inspiron 11 3000 3558 (touch) stuck or broken button on touch pad--warranty parts replacement?

This is an fyi about the final resolution of this issue.  After a lot of arguing dell sent me what was supposed to be the touchpad but what I got was only the plastic palmrest no touchpad. Then because it's a "daughter card" I got more argument about the touchpad.  I got hot enough that I opened up the back, lifted out the battery, took out the two funky looking screws and the whole pad just fell right out of the machine.  The buttons seemed fine so I screwed it back down, put the battery back in and closed it up.  It's now great, the button was indeed hung up on the edge of the plastic palmrest.  This is a very well designed inside machine, it all screws down and all connections are with plugs or ribbon cables.  I wrote back to dell and told them they need to fire their tech manual writers because they're idiots, a monkey could have done this.  Apparently it is not easy to find only the mouse pad it's generally sold with the palmrest from what I can tell.  This whole machine is so well designed I scratch my head why the cpu isn't socketed unless they decided there was no room for a socket etc, which I can see that argument.  So if your mouse pad quits try popping it out first it may just be hung up.

I need to upgrade the 128 GB ssd in my Yoga 3 14 to a 256 ssd or hybrid drive.  This drive is very thin - only 5mm - and I cannot find a 256 GB replacement drive for it even though Lenovo sells a Yoga 3 14 with a 256 GB drive.   Where/how can I obtain this 256 GB drive?  Lenovo parts and retail sales website and phone support is woefully unhelpful - multiple calls with no call returns or referrals to other extentions where the person just referred me to another extension.

A:Yoga 3 14 ssd replacement

I have found a good solution to my problem of replacing the small 128 GB ssd on my Yoga 3 14.  The answer is a 500 GB hybrid drive from Seagate - ST500LX012.  This drive is only 5mm high, installs perfectly and fairly easily into the Yoga 3 14 in the mounting space for the hard drive.  Because it's a hybrid drive, it's fast - boots nearly as fast as the SSD that it replaces and generally seems nearly as quick as the SDD, for way less money.  The space allowed for the drive in this Yoga is only 5mm high and I found that a 7mm or thicker drive will not work in this machine if you want to actually lock it securely in place with the existing brackets.  Finding this drive was not easy, as Seagate won't sell it directly and the normal online retailers don't carry it, at least not yet, though they certainly should.  I found the drive finally at www.harddrivesforsale.  Again, Lenova support/sales was no help at all in finding a larger capacity replacement drive and was very disappointing.
