Q: XPS 13 9360 mit WD15 Wireless erstmalig verbinden, connect XPS 13 9360 first time, no running Intel Wireless Dock Manager

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Much like has been reported three days ago with the TB16 dock (see here), once I updated the Bios on my XPS 13 to 1.3.7, I started experiencing unexpected cutouts of USB powered devices. In this case, it was my Logitech universal receiver. This cause stuttering/dropouts of the mouse.
When I switch to the on-board USB slot on my laptop - no issue. Whether the USB 2 or USB 3 slots on the dock - the problem returns.
I have no issues with my HD monitor or with the Ethernet connection on the dock - just the USB. Every driver is up to date and, as I said, the ports in the laptop work great.

A:XPS 9360 BIOS 1.3.7 created USB dropout/lag in WD15 dock

I suppose the obvious question would be have you tried a wired mouse?
I remember comments about a Logitech wireless mouse causing problems for some systems after a prior Win 10 build update.
Does the WD 15 use the ASMedia USB drivers and have they been updated since the Bios update?

Hello All,
I have a Dell XPX 13 9360 laptop with a WD15 dock that I want to use two Dell 2316M monitors.
The dock connects up to the laptop fine - I am getting ethernet, USB and power from the dock via the Thunderbolt port. But, I am getting no video output from it. The laptop does not recognize that there are additional displays connected. The monitors are on the correct input and the monitors work on their own respectively (tested by connecting to another machine).
I have tried installing the drivers from Dell (Thunderbolt, ASMedia USB, Intel Graphics, etc.), but nothing makes it work. I attempted to install the Firmware, but it fails.
The laptop is Windows 10 Pro.
Does anyone have any suggestions to make this work?

A:Dell WD15 w/XPS 13 9360 - No Video

Hmm, video is typically the easiest thing to get working because the USB-C port just has a DisplayPort output wired to it, so there are no special dock drivers to make that work.  In terms of the firmware update that failed, if you're referring to the WD15 firmware I'm linking below, what's the exact failure error?  That firmware update involves restarting your PC and having it update the firmware while it boots, and it would be a good thing to get working because one of the listed fixes pertains to the DisplayPort MST hub that controls the video outputs.  Link: www.dell.com/.../driversdetails.

Hi everyone,
New owner of the XPS 13 9360, great product aside from some coil whine. I have an issue with the audio port, from the WD15. Sometimes when I am listening to music, I will notice distortion for 3-5 secs, and then it will cut out completely. Then the audio interface is completely unavailable to the OS. Spotify will say "Cannot play right now", as if the interface is blocked.
I have BIOS updated to 2.2.1 on the XPS 13 9360, and WD15 F/W is up to date (according to the update tool). Realtek USB is updated to March 17, 2017, the newest one available on the website. I have no display issues or ethernet issues with the dock otherwise, but the audio issue is very annoying.
Can anyone provide a clue as to why this is happening? Even when it doesn't cut out completely, I'll hear an occasional stutter from the audio, as if audio interrupts are not being handled in higher priority over other I/O. Not sure what the problem is, but I guess I can also ask here and start a discussion with Dell support as well.

In addition to this workstation i have another that is XPS 15 (also Gen7 Core i7) with same dock. On the XPS 15 if i have the unit with lid closed and Windows put to sleep and plug it in to TB16 it wakes up and my monitors (attached to TB16) come up to wallpaper and log in screen. This XPS 13 does not. i see a mouse cursor on monitor 2 and can move it but no wallpaper. I do hear beeps indicating Windows is waking up and detecting hardware. I have waited several minutes to be sure nothing happens. If I then open the lid for a few seconds and close it then my TB16 attached monitors come up to wallpaper and login screen. I have downloaded all Dell software/drivers and reinstalled.

This morning I've upgraded my XPS 9360 to the latest available BIOS (1.3.7). Since the restart I've been experiencing serious issues with my TB16 dock. The USB devices connected via dock are being constantly turned on and off in short intervals which make impossible to operate a mouse, listen to the music (I have an external soundcard) or use a printer...
I thought it might have been some software issue, so I reseted BIOS to the factory defaults - no change. Then I actually reinstalled Windows from the scratch but it hasn't helped either. All my drivers are the latest versions...
Anyone experiences a similar issue with TB16? Can you suggest any resolution / workaround? It would be much appreciated!

A:XPS 9360 BIOS 1.3.7 killed the TB16 dock?

I wish I could help but even though my 9365 also just got a Bios update, the TB16 seems to be working normally.  It seems the same folks don't work on both of these systems so it doesn't mean much that mine is normal.
I don't really understand what you mean my an external audio card, but have you tried removing other devices and concentrating on just one at a time?
There was an earlier thread where USB devices were disconnecting.  Not sure if that poster ever found a fix.  If it a Bios situation, you did recheck the Thunderbolt settings?
If there is anything I can check for you, let me know.

Hello, I would love to ask for some help!
I've recently purchased the newer Dell XPS 13 9360 Non-touch (not the 2 in 1) and am having some trouble with using an external monitor. The screen (on the external monitor) keeps on flickering and has a very unstable connection.
I've searched and found that apparently lowering the power output of the WIFI network adapter can fix this problem.
The problem is that the current XPS's wifi adapter doesn't allow the power output to be changed. The previous fixes were geared towards intel wifi adapters.
The general power settings for the computers doesn't show wifi card power controls.

I have updated all the drivers for the computer including the wireless adapter. Still the options doesn't change.

Has anyone found a way to get a stable external monitor to work with the Killer Wireless Adapter cards?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A:XPS 13 9360 External Monitor Flicker with USB C - HDMI Adapter [Killer Wireless Adapter]

For what it's worth: For me (XPS 13 9360, QHD, i7, 16 GB, Killer WiFi), external screens are perfectly stable, even with wireless being on relatively high throughput load, albeit not high power (energy) load.
I am connecting both HDMI and DisplayPort displays, each with cheap native USB-C adapters (i.e. through Thunderbolt). I also have full success with a Dell DA200, through its built-in HDMI graphics adapter.

No matter how many times I install the latest Chipset, "Detect Drivers" always shows Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-Driver_H41NR_WIN_10.1.1.44_A07_03 as requiring installation.

Any other way to confirm installation besides the installation log?

Thanks... Richard...

A:XPS 9360 - Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-Driver_H41NR_WIN_10.1.1.44_A07_03

You can open the Device Manager and look at System devices and then the properties of the Chipset.  It should agree with the version you are showing.
On my system I have a Sensor driver which keeps trying to install and the last four numbers of the update are the same as the original.  Even after an install it still shows the original driver version, so I just ignore it.

Hi all,
After a recent bios update to version 1.3.5, there is a really annoying problem for my XPS 13 9360. Whenever the laptop is on, the CPU fan won't stop. Even when I am doing nothing and the CPU load is below 5%. Before the update the laptop is normal and quiet, but now I cannot stand the constant noise of the fan.
Before the update it's normal. Any ideas on this issue?

This laptop has ALWAYS struggled to connect to some networks that my phone and tablet can connect to no problem, eg in hotels, Starbucks etc. Here is an example. My new XPS 13 9360 will not auto-connect to any WiFi access points.
I am fully up-to-date on BIOS and all drivers from Dell; currently I see this on Windows 10 Build 14986 (which is the latest slow ring insider build) - but I _may_ have seen this on the latest Windows 10 stable edition as well.
I have tried recreating access points, reinstalling drivers, all to no avail.
The access points in question auto-connect perfectly with another laptop. Generally, once (manually) connected, WiFi works very well.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions on how to make auto-connect work reliably.

I have a Dell XPS 15 and a Dell Dock WD15 which has been working fine for a long time but recently the WD15 dock has been acting up after it is re-docked to the laptop.
Everything works fine if I start the laptop with the dock plugged in but after re-docking the USB ports and Network (cabled) stops working. Everything seems fine with the drivers and as said it only happens after re-docking.
I've tried to rollback drivers and even downgrade the FW on the dock but the problem remains. The only way to "fix" it seems to be to restart the laptop after re-docking.
Running Win10 64-bit.
Any suggestions?

Dear All,

I hope you can help. Recently bought a new LaCie Wireless Space.
I am connected to it as a wi-fi router to get onto the internet.
However, my Time Machine software will not recognise it as a time capsule.
If I search for it in Airport Utility I a message that says "Airport Utility was unable to find any Airport wireless device" etc etc. Yet I am currently connected to it on wi-fi.

Also, if I open Time Machine and "select backup disk" the following appears:
MyShare on "WirelessSpace (Time Machine)"
OpenShare on "WirelessSpace (Time Machine)"

But on selecting either of them the following message appears:
Time Machine can't access the backup disk "MyShare". (or "OpenShare")
The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error 5.)

Finally, if I go into my Disk Utilities , there is no LaCie Wireless Space icon in the left column
However, there is a Wireless Sace (Time Machine) icon under the "Shared" column when I click on the computers hard drive icon on the desktop, BUT is states "Connection Failed"

I really have no idea where else to look and what else to do - other than contact LaCie - but they have not got back to me now for 3 days.

Any ideas????

I just recently did a Windows update and somehow it destroyed my wifi connectivity. I have tried to do system restores back a few days prior to the update to NO avail. I have removed and re-installed or attempted to install the hardware and the software several times. I have downloaded Intel Driver Update Utility to help me install the drivers for the network adapter to no avail. I am not sure what happened but I definitely don't know how to correct this problem.

I have tried so many steps I can't even remember half of them. Most of the times that Intel has done a download, it comes back as Failed and then when I reboot laptop it says installation incomplete (or something like that).

Thanks for your assistance in advance.

Hi everyone... I'm having this issue from the first time I booted up my Alienware Alpha R2 (Intel i5 GTX 960). I tried to connect it to my NETGEAR Router (before I had WNDR4000) and I could only see the 2.4 GHz (that was working properly). I thought was an old router and maybe it wasn't compatible with Intel Wireless 3165. Now I've bought a NETGEAR R7800 (AC2600) and the problem is still the same! Only 2.4 GHz is available on the list. I tried to put the iPhone 6 (connected with 5 GHz) over the Alienware in order to check the signal but it was strong (distance is 4 meters without walls). I tried to update BT & PROWireless drivers (also the Intel website ones) but nothing happened.
Do you have any idea to solve this problem?

Using a notebook on your lap or other soft or cloth surface is what's causing the overheating.  The system should be used on a hard, flat surface only.  You're essentially preventing the fan from doing its job of circulating air over the heatsink.

I have bought it new. I have several things which couldn't satisfy my expectation.
1. After shutdown, it takes 20 seconds to show login screen and after login it takes 5-6 seconds to be ready, So it takes total 26-30 seconds to be ready, Is it expected? I think no but need your inputs ( I still didn't install any app yet. Just updated drivers.)
2. About cooling. It is not getting much warm  for now but i just use  firefox or chrome or edge to browsing or watching moves for now. But even just browsing internet, i see cooling fan run often. Usually It is not much noise but sometimes it gives some sounds like clicking ( it mentions me like reading data from a broken cd/dvd). * yes it is not getting much warm because fan run much. I was expecting a laptop which this price run more cool ((
I am also a mac air user and mac has more more and more properties than dell but it run very cool. (Don't misunderstand me please. I don't like to compare it with other PCs but i have to give my impression about dell and others for you see and understand my problem. )

Hi all, I just bought a Dell XPS 13 9360 with 128 GB and plan to substitue the stock SSD with a larger one (500GB). I thought it would support M.2 NVMe SSD (it's already 2017!), but to my suprise the stock SSD is a Sandisk X400 M.2 SATA.
As far as I know, NVMe and SATA use different connectors, so can I plug the NVMe SSD into my XPS 13 and get it recognized by the motherboard?
I have no previous experience of M.2 SSD. Sorry if the question looks silly.

3) slow SSD benchmark
I recently posted a topic about the slow SSD and i already bought a new dell since then. This time however its an i7 instead of i5 and its also a different brand of hard drive.. Yet i am experiencing the same problem.. so this cant be hardware related then right.
And can all these problems have to do with the same issue? something that makes the SSD perform poorly?

I am not a techie at all so I probably shouldn't be posting in this forum.  But I am frustrated and really worried about what is happening with an XPS 13 9360 purchased in 11/2016 -- not even three months old.  It seemed to be working fine on Friday morning until it showed out of the blue an alert message that the system had to do a scan and repair and restart -- no indication of the problem.  The scan and repair showed 100 percent completed but the restart failed, and the screen went blue. Nearly two hours on the phone with Dell technical support on Friday produced no result.  Dell sent me a USB drive with Windows 10 Recovery Media, and after more than one hour on the phone today with Dell Technical Support, the re-installation of the operating system from the USB drive failed.  Now they are sending me another USB drive to try again to re-install the operating system.  After a 36-year career as a journalist with major print media, where I always had superb IT support,  I recently went out on my own to write a book, and this has become a deep nightmare for me.

I just received a new dell 13 xps 9360 (i7 7560U, 16GB ram, 1920x1080 screen), I've installed a clean windows 10 and out of curiosity just tried some game (Dota 2) and in low settings I'm getting 10-15 fps which is pretty shocking.
I'm a bit confuse because in theory it should have a Intel HD 620 but it actually has an Intel iris plus 640. Obviously I've installed the latest drivers ( Also if I check for example on youtube there are reviews of this laptop getting (same game, medium settings) >40fps which sounds about right.
I don't plan to play too much but I'm a little worried that I'm getting worst performance on a new laptop than in my previous one from 4 years ago (with an intel hd 3000), looks to me like there is a bigger issue underneath.
Somebody with this laptop have tested some game or something similar to this?

Hello, I have a Lenovo v570 1066 laptop. It came with Windows 7, but over the years I upgraded to Windows 8, 8.1, and 10. After the recent Creators update I started having hardware problems with Windows 10. I decided to downgrade back to Windows 8.1. I did a complete wipe of the hard drive and installed Windows 8.1 successfully. I installed all the most recent Windows updates and drivers for my hardware. However, every time I reboot or shut down the computer and boot up again, the WiFi stops working. If I go into the device manager and reinstall the driver then it works fine, but as soon as I reboot it happens again. Essentially every time that I restart the machine I have to reinstall the driver for the wireless adapter. This is a link to the "steps" from the Windows Step Recorder showing what I am talking about. Steps recorded for updating driver I found this link on another Lenovo page where this person solved connection problems by changing the boot priority of Windows Boot Manager, however, I have no way to get into BIOS/UEFI. I have tried using the keyboard during bootup to no avail. I have also tried the following method (Steps recorded for trying to access UEFI) followed by Restart Now, Troubleshooting, and Advanced Options, but the tile for UEFI Firmware settings is not there. Has anybody else had a similar problem? Does anybody know how to fix this? Thanks!

A:is ther a way to connect to 2 wireless routers at the same time

With all due respect to you, I am having a very difficult time with what I am reading here. I am not speaking about the wifi/ Internet, either.

All that I can tell you is to check with your local Internet providers as to their policy (and legalities) of sharing a wifi signal. There is no reason in the world that if you are truly just 50' feet away from the router that is broadcasting an 802.11g wifi signal, that you should encounter any Internet connectivity trouble whatsoever - and vice-versa. A 50' distance from a router today would be welcomed by many.

It is possible to connect to two wifi signals at once from what I have seen, but it serves no purpose. Your system limits the bandwidth as well as the number of concurrent connections that you may have to the Internet at any given time.

Go into the Network and sharing Center, delete all profiles, connect to the 2 wifi profiles that you wish and select "connect to a better signal if available". While staying in hotels recently, my system would switch between wifi signals constantly - and seamlessly. It takes but a few seconds, if that, and I never knew while it was happening.

Good Luck to you.

With absolutely no information about the environment, it's really hard to answer.
Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

Name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Make and exact model of the broadband modem.
Make and exact model and hardware version of the router (if a separate unit).
Model numbers can usually be obtained from the label on the device.

Please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.

If you're using a wireless connection, have you tried a direct connection with a cable to see if that changes the symptoms?
For wireless issues, have you disabled all encryption on the router to see if you can connect that way?
Have you connected directly to the broadband modem to see if this is a router or modem/ISP issue?
If there are other computers on the same network, are they experiencing the same issue, or do they function normally?

Hi all,
I had just bought a Dell XPS 13 9360 from the local Dell Direct Store running Windows 10 (64-bit) a few months ago.
Recently, it has been rather problematic, with occasional flickering screen and unexpected shutdown errors. For the flickering screen part, it seems it is a common problem for many Dell XPSes but solutions given did not solve my problem.
What I am more concerned about is the unexpected shutdown.
Under Dell SupportAssist desktop app, application errors regarding DropboxOEM.exe are shown, as well as unexpected shutdown errors. When I entered BIOS from one-time boot menu, the shutdown error seems to be ASF2 Force Off. The computer passed all diagnostic tests and the problems lingered, strangely.

Here are the 2 recurring application errors taken from SupportAssist System Events:

Error #1
Error #2
Does anyone know how to fix these application errors, the ASF2 force off error, and possibly the flickering screen? Thanks in advance.

I have called support 3x and the last time the tech actually loaded 3rd party software onto my laptop. This did not inspire confidence.  I have tried attaching a mouse but it still behaves erratically. So if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

Hello guys
I just got my new XPS 13 today and I love it, allthough it didn't ship with 2333 MHz RAM as I thought. It seems Dell changed it in the last moment before shipping my computer.
I don't know what to do with the battery. My old desktop had this batteri saver-plan, were it would charge the battery to 60 pct. and then use the AC-charger. But this feature doesn't seem to be present on my XPS 13?
I tried an app called Dell Command Power Manager, but it doesn't seem to work. Should it?
Thanks :-)

Oh and btw: can I fix the mousepad lag? It's really annoying.

1. there is not preset available in maxxaudio pro, only a default/flat one (also the EQ bars do not work if I changing them, no diferent in audio output). Please see the attachment. Is this normal? I found some MaxxStereo, MaxxBass bass...etc presets that I cannot found in my MAxxaudio Pro.
2. The sound settings in windows, the enhancements tab is missing and no effect can be applied. Please see the attachment. Is this normal?
3. in device manager I notice there is not driver available for Intel High Definition driver. I tried to update the driver in windows but shows me a message that windows cannot found any driver. Please see the attachment file as well.
I tried everything, uninstalled and reinstall new drivers from realtek and dell websites with no luck. I have windows 10 Pro with the lastest windows updates installed.

Could you please help me with this issues? Thanks in advance

A:Many audio issues with xps 13 9360

The Intel HD audio comes from the display driver for HDMI.  In the Sound devices you should see the Realtek device.
Make sure and have the latest drivers from Dell.  The Maxx audio preset should allow you to save a new version after you have made some change.  It may want you to save the preset before you can hear a difference but I think I have seen it behave both ways, during and after saving.
My system is showing 24 bit audio, so you might check yours to see if that is available.
Make sure there are no enhancements enabled on the Speaker icon settings since they may add to the ones from Maxx.
If you have more problems, I will be on my other system to check you attachments.

I miss the "middle click" dearly!
Is there any chance to assign this instead of e.g. "Cortana", or any 3/4-finger gesture?
I'm considering to search for compatible Synaptics drivers, because I'd also like to adjust some other aspects of this TP. Any comments on this?
Furthermore, are there any ideas on TP-care, so it does not look that(!) worn out, even when just barely used yet?
Regards, Parky

A:XPS13, 9360 - Touchpad

Greetings,Thanks for writing to us.We do not have an option to assign middle click using Cortana or 3/4 finger gesture. We regret to inform you that we do not have Synaptics driver to provide additional settings on Touchpad. You can use Touchpad as normal. If you think that Touchpad would worn out due to normal usage, you can use external mouse.

Hi there,
I've recently purchased a dell xps 13 9360
I have had a few issues such as screen flicker every so often, maybe twice a day, however it doesn't affect me too much.
There was also slight coil whine, especially when using skype and intensive task, however I managed to remove that by turning off turbo boost in bios.
Just then the blue screen "your pc has run into a problem and needs to restart" and a very loud noise occured.  I have attached the event log for when this occured, not sure if it helps.
I've only had the laptop for just less than a month and I really need it now so I can't and don't plan on returning it. Just wondering if anyone could suggest to me what to do, i.e. could I send it for maintenance in a few weeks time and they could thoroughly test the system?

A:Dell xps 13 9360 issues

I'd suggest you first run the diagnostic tool to check hardware on the system by following the steps below:
1. Power off system
2. Power on system, quickly tap the F12 key continuously until you see Preparing one time boot menu in the top right corner of the screen. In the boot menu, stroll down to Diagnostic and then click it. After quick tests, click on Hard Drive, and then Thorough Test Mode. Report back any error code.

Was looking at premiere the model xps13win10non1705_5171p includes a 1920x1080 touch screen. Is that correct? I am wondering since no where else is the combo of 1920x1080 and touch available?
Is there a model that includes Core i5, 16 GB, Touch and 128 GB? That is my ideal config and then I can drop in 960 Pro of my own.

A:XPS 13 9360 with 1920x1080 Touch?

From Dell, the touchscreen is available only with the 4K (QHD) screen.  All of the FHD screens are non-touch.

The Signature Editions are exclusive the the Microsoft store - you'll need to buy from them, not from Dell or another reseller.  It looks like they do not have a 128G version - they're all 256 or 512.
It also looks like while the 9350 (older version) has a FHD touchscreen, all the 9360s are showing only QHD touchscreens.

I want to install Ubuntu onto my laptop and eliminate the Windows partitions.  BIOS updates are a problem however.  I want to put a WinPE image on a USB stick that I can run the Dell .exe files from, but so far I've only gotten an amd64 WinPE image to run, which can't run the BIOS update executables because it doesn't have WOW64.
1)  Has anyone successfully built a 32-bit WinPE image for an XPS 13 laptop?
2)  Are there any special BIOS boot settings to get it to work?  AHCI vs. RAID?  [No] Secure Boot?  Which EFI boot image on the USB stick?References:

Just added another XPS 13 to our growing Dell family. Got everything set up juuust so... only now to discover that you can't plug headphones into the jack. It will only go in half way before becoming obstructed. Has anyone had this happen? I know what needs to happen next, it's just *** me off.
