Aaxatech 2 projector recognized as storage device only

Q: Aaxatech 2 projector recognized as storage device only

I have an Aaxatech P2, one of these:

AAXA P2 Pico Projector - LCoS Based Hand-held Pocket Projector - LED Micro Projector

When I connect it to thru the VGA cable, it works fine, but then when I plug it via USB, all it does is recognize it as a mass storage device. Does anyone know if I can get video through the USB on this thing? thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Well, apparently the USB port is designed for file transfers only.

Hi,

I've read that 2nd generation pico projectors are out. I've been looking at the Optoma PK102, 3M MPro120, Aaxatech P2. I'll probably go with the P2 since it's the brightest of the bunch at 33lumens, but would like to hear anyone's opinion if they've owned one.

Seeing this video on YouTube made me want one even more http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03W9bhstAUc

Just trying to see if anyone's got any feedback before I buy one, thanks!

I have WD 1 TB drive that was working fine. I noticed it had 3 partitions on it so I removed 2 of them with AOMEI Partition Assistant.
Aomei competed the operations and now my box will not recognize the drive. I tried it on my desktop and it also will not recognize the drive.
When I connect the drive, on either machine, it makes that "beep/bump" sound that lets me know something has been inserted but that is it.

Any ideas.

Also:
I went into device manager and told it to scan for hardware changes, that did nothing.
I tried to update drivers but that never completed. The progress bar just kept looking and did not find anything.

Hi all, well this is a long shot now to post a question about my prety old mp3 player(Rio Chiba 128). The thing is that I have a good amount of good music I would like to copy off of it. Anyways I have Vista Home Premium 32bit and when I plug in the mp3 player, it recognizes it as being a Rio Chiba device but can not find any available drivers for it. I already tried the following:-changed the cable-directed the "New Device" wizard to look for drivers in C:\Windows\INF , C:\Windows\winsxs-copied different copies of "usbstor.inf" & "usbstor.PNF" into C:\Windows\INF and different locations but none of those have worked-I have even tried deleting INFCACHE.1 and nothing. -went to: http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/r....asp?prodID=109 which is Rio's support page for this device but they claim it doesnt need a driver as the OS should read it as a mass storage device. The mp3 player still works fine and plays music as it should it just doesnt want to be recognized in either vista or xp. any help or suggestions is really appreciate it as Im very little away from giving up on it. Thanks all!

With it plugged in go to the Control Panel>Administrative Tool>Computer Management. Double-click on Storage. Double-click on disk Management.
On the top, click on Action and select Refresh

If it doesn't show, go to your Device Manager and see if there are any yellow exclamation points by the USB Root Hub Controllers

Disconnect the drive and tell us what the computer then reports. Your HLDS optical drive is among the most basic of all drives installed by Dell, but it has an extremely high failure rate.

I have lost a lot of drivers too in the upgrade and am not really sure if I need to download any additional drivers besides the ones I have already downloaded. I downloaded all the drivers listed on the Acer website for my computer, but I have not downloaded the BIOS. Should I do that too? Would that fix the problem?

Thanks for the help

Welcome!

A BIOS update probably won't solve this problem, so don't take the risk of bricking your mobo if the update goes wrong.

Try using Speccy or SIW to identify your video card. Then go to nVidia.com and download the latest drivers for your card there.

Hello,

I have a PC which is having a lot of trouble recognizing a USB data acquisition device. Starting from a situation where the PC *does* recognize the device, here is the basic pattern:

1. PC shows device in Device Manager under "Data Acquisition Devices".

2. If the PC is power-cycled via the power plug itself, the device is no longer recognized under Device Manager ("Unknown Device").

3. If the PC is power-cycled via Start Menu --> Turn Off, same results as above, no longer recognized.

4. If the PC is power-cycled via Start Menu --> Restart, no problems, device recognized.

When the device is not recognized, unplugging and replugging the USB cable makes no difference to the situation. In order to correct the issue, I disable and then enable via Device Manager (which also involves a restart).

This pattern is extremely repeatable.

I am working with WinXP SP2, Pentium, 2.8 GHz, 504 MB RAM.

This PC was returned from a customer site - the PC and USB device are used in a machine my company manufactures. Apparently this issue just started happening one day. We want not only to correct the issue, but in fact to understand the root cause and ensure it will not happen again in the future.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

A:USB Device Recognized / Not Recognized based on shut-down method

You could try reinstalling the usb drivers.
JohnWill has fix that is worth a try

Johnwill's solution

Create a file with NOTEPAD containing the following lines and save it as FIX.REG
-------------------------- Use text after this line --------------------------------
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment]

"DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES"="1"
-------------------------- Use text before this line --------------------------------

Double click on FIX.REG and say yes to the Merge Into Registry question.

Unplug ALL USB devices.
Open Device Manager.
View, Show Hidden Devices.
Uninstall all devices under USB Controllers.
Uninstall all devices under Disk Drives that you know are not present.
Uninstall all devices under Storage Volumes. Say no to any reboot prompts until you are finished. Also, if a Storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore it and move to the next one.
If you have a yellow ? with unknown devices, uninstall all of the entries there as well.

When this is done, reboot TWICE.

Reconnect the USB devices and see if they're recognized properly.

NOTE: If you have a USB keyboard and/or mouse, you'll have to modify the instructions and leave enough parts for those to function. I don't have one yet, so I haven't had time to modify the instructions.

I've omitted the name of the first gen pico projector as this isn't meant to bash on them, but to highlight the differences of my P2 and a first gen pico. I think that would be ok since spec wise, the first gens were all pretty much within the same ballpark of each other.

After owning a first gen pico, looking at the PK102 and MPro120, the lumens did not improve much at all (wonders why's that). While both respective companies did make some improvements, it's in my opinion they weren't made where it counts. The P2 specs are 33lumens and SVGA 800x600 resolution.

As demonstrated by this video, the first gen is not great for text, esp when downconverting from a higher resolution screen. The SVGA resolution handled the downconverting much better.

When watching videos, the first gen again lacks the crispness and clarity of a superior resolution, not to mention the better color contrast as well.

But if you're not looking at something too detailed, like large images, the only difference appears to be the brightness of the P2 projector.

Overall, the P2 is a very nice improvement over the first gen picos. Given that the other 2nd gen picos haven't improved much in terms of optics, I'd say this comparison could be fair to say they're perform the same as the first gen pico used. The aaxatech P2 has definitely made these picos much more "usable".

A:Aaxatech P2 vs 1 gen pico

Thanks for this review - I've been looking to purchase a pico projector but have heard the 10 lumen ones were not worth it. I'm currently debating between the AAXA P2, 3M Mpro150 and the new AAXA L1 laser projector. Do you have any thoughts? Do you think the laser projector is worth the extra $$ or will I be hapy with the P2? I'm just using it to connect to my laptop. TIA

Now, when I plug a device in, I hear the indicator that i've plugged something new in I can see the devide in the Devices and Printers window but it isn't fully recognized... says troubleshooting is needed, though when i run the trouble shooter, nothing happens. This has happened with 3 different thumb drives and a usb cd burner.

When I go to access drives on the computer, I am unable to see the usb thumb drive.

To date, i have uninstalled the usb drivers and restarted and that didn't work.

If I try to restart with ANY usb drive in the front 4 ports, I get a blue error screen saying there is an unknown boot device, so I end up having to restore to my last restore point.

Any help would be much appreciated!!! THANK YOU in advance!

A:Solved: USB Ext Storage not recognized

Hi jaylin

Try this:

Plug the FLASH or EXT drive. You should hear the "turun" sound when an USB device is plugged in.
Right click My Computer and select MANAGE.
Got to the Storage section and click the DISK MANAGEMENT section. Wait on the right side to populate.
Check if your EXT drive or your flash drive is listed there.
IF so, check if it has a DRIVE LETTER assigned to it (Should be something like D:, E: or such)
IF it does not has a DRIVE LETTER assigned, right click it and select CHANGE DRIVE LETTERS AND PATHS.
If it has any drive letter assigned to it, change it to a letter form the end of the alphabet, say Y: X: or Z:
This is to ensure that you are assigning a letter that is available on the system.
After that, Say OK to everything and close the Computer Management window. Your FLASH or EXT drive should appear now on the MY COMPUTER window with it's new drive assinged.

Hope it helps !

Hi, I'm having a slight problem with my computer.

It originated when I was using an image mounting tool, after removing one of the simulated drives while my usb thumb drive was connected. A new drive called removable disk appeared with the same drive letter as the simulated drive I removed. If I go into the device manager I see it as "Generic Storage Device USB Device". Removing it also removes the new drive from my computer, however each time I reconnect my usb thumb drive I get that one popping up. I also get my thumb drive, but besides that I get a "ghost" image of one that I can't open, and it remains even after safely removing my usbstick, and remains until I remove it in the device manager. I'm guessing this is related to windows 'remembering' the ids of the devices you connect, however I can't remember where that is stored in the windows registry. Any ideas about what I can do?

Thankful for any answers

Regards
Jack

Hello everyone,
i hope you can help me sorting out this issue that is causing me a hard headache at the moment.

I've bought this new Lenovo Z50-70 laptop with windows 8.1 preinstalled on it. Fresh new.

I'm trying to connect via usb a guitar audio interface (Line6 POD HD500) so i installed the drivers via the .exe setup file i downloaded from Line6's site.
The device worked fine on my previous HP pavilion with windows 7.

Now when i completed the installation, i connected it and i had this error:Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)A request for the USB device descriptor failed.
I used slimdrivers to update all the other drivers, in case it was a conflict causing the error.
I checked via command prompt with command "pnputil -e" and i saw a driver from the vendor of the device listed, so it is installed correctly i think.
I tried all USB ports i have, 3.0 and 2.0 on one side of laptop and 2.0 on other side.

When on device manager, if i click update drivers and choose the "let me pick from a list of device drivers.." i don't see the company name of the device.

i saw that another guy posted a really similar problem on SevenForum and he figured out how to force windows to use the drivers but he didn't post the solution.. Here is the post: Can't get Windows 7 x64 to use the drivers I've installed repeatedly Solved - Windows 7 Help Forums

A few weeks ago I noticed that my iPhone suddenly stopped charging when I plugged it into the usb ports of my computer. I shrugged it off initially and just charged it using other means, but soon afterwards I realized that no external drives work at all. I've already scratched out the possibility that my usb ports are damaged, because usb devices ranging from my mouse to my tablet still work perfectly.

I have a feeling it's some kind of registry error, but I haven't been able to find the registry key for removable storage (if there is one).

I can't use a system restore, because an (unauthorized) windows update seems to have erased any system restore points I had for previous years. When windows eventually started updating again without authorization, I reset the computer since I clearly remember turning off automatic updates after the first update (and it was supposed to off before that too), and I was suspicious since my antivirus software was out of date.

Is it possible that this reset damaged my registry, or could it be some other problem? Would a windows repair work, or should I just give the windows updates a go?

Once again, please don't advise me to check if my usb ports are damaged, or say that my removable storage is faulty. The usb ports work with all other devices, and I've already tested each removable storage device.

However, today none of them show up in explorer, and when they're viewed in device manager all of them have an error message that says, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. Also, my flash drive is made by Sandisk and has a second partition that mounts as a CD drive, and this works properly. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Here is a picture of what device manager looks like now. Yeah, sorry about the title, I tried to make it as informative as possible.

I'm asking for help. I've searched around the net for ages to try to find answers to this issue, but I can't find anything that matches my problem exactly.

My computer has issues with usb storage drivers I think. All usb stick thingys don't work. And they do work on every other computer I've tested them on... which is probably around six or so. Whenever I plug them in, it comes up with that very unhelpful message that says that "USB not recognised", and when I check the device manager, it comes up with Unknown Device.

Also, when I plug in an MP3 player, they are only read half of the time. The other half, they do the same rubbish that occurrs with my USB things...

My printer and keyboard both work fine, so I know it isn't a problem with my hardware. Well, maybe it could be a problem with my PSU, but it is a 550W, and I'm sure that my components aren't draining that much power.

Finally, my 7-in-1 card reader isn't recognised by vista most of the time. When it is finally recognised and the drives show up in My Computer, but when I put an SD card in or something, nothing happens.

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate, which was upgraded from a buggy version of Home Basic Lite edition. And, if I can't get this fixed, I'll format my computer, but I don't really want to resort to that.

Hello everyone..
Yesterday my laptop pushed a new Win 10 update, and all went fine, or at least I think so.
But today I see that my Sony WALKMAN - which I used with no problem until now, can't be recognized anymore.

Basically it just shows as (E or Usb Drive E: but when I click it it says "Please insert a disk into E:/" like there is nothing there.

Now the interesting part is.. if I go to Device Manager I see it and clicking on properties etc t says it's working fine.

But if I go to Disk Management, the Drive shows as 14 gb of unallocated space and it's greyed out.

However, if I put it on my brother's laptop, it works perfectly and it can be opened, music moved into it etc - it shows as Healthy - Primary Partition in Disk Management. So it doesn't seem broken...

It's the same on each of the 4 usb ports btw. But, other usb devices (2 phones, 1 tablet) don't have any issue and are detected.

What could have caused this? I tried the basic Disable/Enable in Device Manager and also Uninstall Driver.. It doesn't do anything, it appears back when I replug it in.

No change in Safe Mode and no change after sfc /scannow

If anyone has any idea I'd be happy to try anything to fix this..

Thanks!

This problem is being reported by many forum members with many different USB devices. It seems that Windows 10 Anniversary is having problems properly recognizing certain USB drives and devices. So far, no one has come up with a clear fix for this issue but it sounds like it is clearly related to the Anniversary update. For the record, I did a clean install and have not had any issues but most of the people reporting this problem make reference to updating to Anniversary.

I posted in a previous thread about the Aaxa Tech L1v2 being used as a MS Office Projector, and it really caught my attention! I ended up getting one and thought I would share with everyone a full review!
I am what some call a tech connoisseur. I always like to get my hands on the newest tech products, ranging from cell phones to projectors. Today’s product to go under the microscope is Aaxa Tech’s L1v2. The L1v2 is the second generation of the laser pico projector line. The most prominent features of the L1v2 are the improved performance, better heat dissipation, a new modern look, and most importantly a much much better price point, $399!

My expectations for this product were high as it is a second generation product. Taking it out of the box, I was immediately amazed the size and weight of the L1v2. The dimensions are 4.2”x2.1”x1.2” and weighs only 170 grams with the battery! To put this in perspective, it’s almost the equivalent of the HTC 8525, which isn’t bad at all. The box includes: the unit itself, AC adapter, A/V cable, VGA cable, and tripod clip (no tripod unfortunately). The Iphone/Ipod/Ipad adapter is sold separately unfortunately. The L1v2 is made from what seems to be durable plastic, meaning it could easily go in to your briefcase without much concern. The black matte finish gives it a smooth exterior with little chance of finger prints or smudges. The buttons are a decent size and aren... Read more

Most likely a power supply failure, that's a non-servicable part except by the manufacturer, so it's one you replace. [can hold a charge and possibly KILL you if opened up]

Any PC repair shop near you can verify that the PSU is croaked in a minute, with a PSU tester which you can buy for $20ish.

Rosewill RTK-PST Digital LCD Power Supply Tester - Newegg.com

PC is acting like it doesn't have the juice to run the parts, just so much more likely PSU dead, eliminate that before moving on, hopefully it didn't damage anything else.

For months I've had absolutely no problem out of the device, until the computer randomly decided to forget the device was plugged in. Now I'm lucky to get the device to be recognized by the computer at all, and when it is recognized, if I try to move anything to/from the device, the connection is immediately severed from the computer.

I use this device for my backup as well as holding on to things I would rather not get rid of. All my drivers are up to date, I've done all the Power Management checking and unchecking that I've read from other threads found via Google search, and still it won't work correctly for me. Any advice?

A:Self-Powered External Storage not recognized/randomly disconnecting

Providing you have done all the power options to attack the problem from the OS end of things, then you must consider that the drive itself is the problem. This seems likely since the drive has worked fine in the past.

The first suspect would be the USB cable, the connector on either end, or the port on either end.

The second suspect would be the hard drives power supply. These do go bad. If it is not supplying proper power then the drive will fail to be recognized correctly.

Try the drive on another computer. If it exhibits the same behavior there then you can narrow it down to one of the two issues above.

Hello,

I am using Windows 8.1 64 bit (6.3, Build 9600) in my laptop (Lenovo Y510P). When I connect the VGA Port of my laptop to a projector and choose the duplicate screen option (Fn+F3 in my laptop), the display projected on the (exterior) screen starts flickering wildly. At the same time the display on my laptop screen is stable (the resolution changes, but apart from that it's okay). I have tried it with four different cords (and projectors), so I suppose that it may not be an issue with the display cord(s). My laptop is relatively new (still covered under warranty) and this issue started with my laptop since the first time I tried to connect the VGA port to a projecter. Is this a hardware issue with the VGA port of my laptop or is there a possibility that it may be a software (driver) issue also? Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

A:Projector's image FLICKERS when projector is plugged in.

You need to go into your display properties and change the refresh rate for that output.

It's recognized in device manager as "Unknown device". But I've not connected anything to pc. Also all of my usb ports are working at 1.1 speed. When I try to connect any device, I get the message "that it could work faster, if i connect it to hi-speed usb port".

Any suggestions?

A:USB device not recognized - but there is no usb device connected

It could be two unrelated issues.
1. You could have a device that needs a driver.
2. Some motherboards use a mixture of 1.1 and 2.0 ports, so that's the reason for the message.

You could check to see if you can get a hardware id for the device, from the device manager.

I have a Dell notebook, with what I believe is a USB 1.1 port on it. I recently bought a Microsoft wireless notebook optical mouse. There is no installation CD with it, you are just supposed to plug it in and it should work. Well when I do that, I get an error comes up saying USB device not recognized. When I look at the properties it says "no drivers are installed for this device", and I have the device usage as enabled. I've tried updating the driver and it says I have the most recent updates installed. It comes up as an unknown device as well.

Other things like my printer work in this USB port, so I don't think the port itself is defective. I also plugged the mouse into another computer and it works with no problems. I am running on XP with SP2 installed.

The product specs say it should work on USB 1.1 or 2.0, so I don't think that is the problem either. Any ideas? I've gone through all of the troubleshooting with no luck.

So, the other day I tried to insert my friends usb into one of the frontal usb ports, it said it couldn't recognize the device or that it had malfunctioned. From that point on, Anything connected to the pc via the usb won't be recognized. heres a picture

anyway, everything else on the pc works fine, so theirs either some really easy way of fixing this or i need to buy a new motherboard/serial bus.

so, yeah, any help would be appreciated.

Try unplugging the computer for a minute or two, so there's no power to the mother board, then turn it back on and see if the USBs work again.

Hi mate!

Of course it is possible, you have to plug your old drive to your machine and make sure that Master/Slave jumpers are set correctly to avoid conflicts. Your OS will identify the drive and then you will be able to access files stored in it. If you want to reformat it you can easily do that from inside the OS with no problems. There is no need to have an OS installed on that drive.

Help!
My PC will randomly freeze when i plug in my flash drive. It also happens when i try to copy a file or run applications like WinRar. Also when i try to boot my PC with the flash drive plugged in, IT freezes!

What should i do?

See recent post "problems after using SanDisk flash drive" by me.
I have had a host of problems after using a flash drive on my brand new computer.
I'm no expert, but it's looking like it corrupted my sound card somehow. I am inprocess of trying to get it fixed, and have narrowed it down to my sound card and have it disabled so that my computer behaves.
When I have it enabled, none of my system games (like Spider Solitare) respond. They open and then freeze. Windows Media Player does the same thing. And, no sound.
Anyway, see my thread and see if any of the things I've gotten help with help you.

Is this a new and unused drive? If so, Windows must initialize it then create a partition. Do this with the Disk Management console. Run diskmgmt.msc

If it has been used and contains files, with which file system has it been formated?

Hi guys i hope this is the right part of forum.

Anyway i have a spare machine that is now gathering dust and i am wanting to turn it into a storage device. Now it is not a problem to do with a platform installed like windows or linux, but i am wanting to make this storage device without any platform at all (total blank Hard drives). can this be done?

Now i know it is possible with teraboxes and things designed specifcally for that but how would i go about doing it to a standard machine?

i am also wanting this to be linked upto my home network.

hope some one can help.

Thanks

I have a USB storage device that you place a hard drive in it then the usb plugs into the computer. The Hard drive & USB storage device is for desktop computer hard drives. I want to put the USB device in a laptop. Will a desktop computer size hard drive work in the laptop if I put it in the usb device?

btw: This laptop has no internal hard drive. The laptop is a Gateway Solo 9100. 150Mhz processor. 64MB of RAM.

Can I boot the computer from the USB hard drive if I put an OS on it?

Well, I've been downloading a lot of stuff, for my iPod, and since they are in itunes (and in my computer), they've been taking a lot of space recently. I even found out that there is only 25 percent of free space on my computer.

So I was wondering, instead of forcing my computer to hold all the music/videos for my ipod, can't i just... somehow... make my iP0d just hold everything, then delete the files in my computer to save up space? I mean, like... download a music file, put it in my ipod, then delete the file knowing that a duplicate is in my ipod. I think you understand what I'm trying to say.

I have a Genesys usb mass storage unit. I have the Vista driver and it's been installed properly. The problem is that it doesn't show up as a drive under my "computer."

I have tried to update the driver, uninstall and re-install and it still won't show up. It does show up in the "safely remove hardware" window and the device manager.

A:USB Mass Storage Device

Try these.... they are harmless steps...
1:stop plug and play service in services.msc and restart it... then,
2:start->right click on "computer"-> left click on manage-> on L.H.S. click on storage, click on disk management...on the R.HS. check in disk management if that USB drive shows up as unallocated space. If yes, reply to this post.

When I put files [eg songs in this case] onto the USB device and then stick it in another computer it lets me play them but it says I can only do so while its plugged in. I got it because I was sure I would be able to copy them onto the second machine. It's not the write-protect switch that's preventing me...I've tried that approach.
I may be able to copy them with WMP by "copying the now playing" but that would be too slow.[if it even works]
Any help and suggestions appreciated.
Thanks.

Can a NAS act as a backup device for on the fly saves? Like a Mirra server.
I need a network storage device that will keep the files that are saved on the file server and also copy them to the NAS. This is just in case the server goes down the network users can redirect there access from the file server to the NAS.

What ideas do you have?

A:Network storage device

Use NAS entirely and create BCV or snapshot volumes.

Or:

Use NAS/iSCSI head and product like Topio or Replistor to async write data to NAS.
