Lenovo g50 stuck on booting screen

Q: Lenovo g50 stuck on booting screen

Hi i have a Lenovo g50 that I purchased last year. It was working perfectly fine until today. As always, I turned on my laptop and waited for it to load. I went to get something and when I came back, it was still on the booting screen and the loading circle thing was still turning. I have Windows 10 running on this laptop. I restarted my laptop and the booting screen came up again but it said Preparing Automatic Repair. I even tried to fix my bios thing as well but it didn't help. PLEASE HELP

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My Computer data:Lenovo G50- 45Win 8 already being installedMy problem:Hey dudes,I wanted to start my PC as always but instead of starting my GUI, windows just showed me the message that "Automatically reperation is being prepared". I used to wait but after hours the computer stayed the same. I decided to use the "onekey recovery" but instead of recovering, the computer just showed me the lenovo sign and used to load. The same procedure, I used to wait hours, but nothing changed. After that I prepared an USB device and set win 10 (64) on it and wanted to let him boot from my device. After having a lot of problems, I found a page on the internet telling me to change to "legacy" mode and to disable secure boot. Well, done that and enter with "Fn and F12" the boot menu. Selected my USB device and he is really showing me a Win 10 logo. But, and thats my problem he isnt doing anything else. He is just showing me a loading circle with a big blue Win 10 logo. I dont know what I should do next. Any Ideas around here? I've heard that a Hardware issue could be possible, isn't it? While booting, I pushed different Keys and heard one single, loud Beeping. I tried booting up my laptop this morning but all it's doing is flashing the Lenovo logo, powering down and repeating the process. I can hear the fan starting up and shutting off as well. I did a bit of research and found that this is a common problem and I tried the potential solutions but so far nothing has worked. I tried starting in safe mode, opening task manager and just pressing the power button to turn it off but it's not responding to any of the commands. When ever I remove the battery, unplug the power cord and hold the button for 30 seconds and put the battery back it in just resumes the loop without me even pressing the power button. When I close my laptop it seems like it's shutdown (no sleep light or noises from the fan) It was working fine all day yesterday there was a bit of a power outage while it was plugged into the outlet but it was still working without an issue Should I just let it run until the battery runs out? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

A:When booting I get an Error 0210: Stuck Key 01 Lenovo Thinkpad

Hi Sukumar,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that you are getting stuck key error in your Lenovo ThinkPad.

Stuck key error means that one or more keys on the keyboard are stuck. It's possible that a liquid spill can also cause one or more keys to electrically "short" causing the error. Inspect the keyboard and check if any keys are mechanically stuck.

If you're mechanically handy you can remove the keyboard, inspect any chances of damage or corrosion. Plug it back and see if error is still occurring.

Reset BIOS to default settings. Perform Flee Power ? remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer. Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and turn ON the computer.

If none of the above said helped to resolve your concern, I strongly recommend you to contact our technical support for assistance.

Click here to open a link where you can select the country and get the exact contact support number. I?m sure they will be a great help.

Best Regards,

Hi Azadkv,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

I?m sorry to hear that your G500 Laptop is not booting to Windows and hanging at Lenovo Logo and the issue persists even after performing Flee-Power step. Hence, I suggest to perform BIOS reset and check if the issue persists. Below are the steps to perform BIOS reset:

To access BIOS menu turn OFF the Laptop and press the NOVO button located beside power button.
Then to reset the BIOS to its defaults click on ?F9? Key and select YES.
Now click on ?F10? Key to save the changes that are done in BIOS, the computer will automatically restart.

Do post us back if the issue persists.

Okay, so my Lenovo N580 IdeaPad with i3 processor is stuck at the splash screen, aka the black screen with Lenovo written on it in bold white letters. I tried removing the battery, then putting it back on, then pressing power button for 45 secs. I also tried pressing the the Novo button (the small round and black button besides the power button) but the screen shows no change and does not go to bios/reset menu on pressing f9/f12 too. What else can I do to get my laptop back on? Please help, all my project work is on my laptop

My g580 ran out of battery while using it, and now it gets stuck on the lenovo logo. I tried a different hard drive which changed nothing, I've tested both hard drives on a different computer and they both work. However when I boot the laptop with no harddrive it will get past the logo go to a screen saying something about an unplugged cable then reset and get stuck on a blank screen.   If I plug in my windows recovery usb drive( and no harddrive) the the machine will boot normally and go to the windows installation screen. So any ideas on why a working harddrive would stop the system from booting? Also I've tried the whole taking out the battery unplugging it holding down the power key and then plugging it back in thing, did nothing.

The first thing I look at if a machine hangs at startup is the USB ports.  Physical damage can create shorts which cause these symptoms.  Check for bent pins or a tongue broken off.

Now when it boots, it just gets stuck at thLenovovo logo right when i boot it, without no signs of loading or anything, when i leave it there for some time, nothing happens. The NOVO button is not working, and i can't access the BIOS menu or Booting menu with any keyboard shortcuts. Unplugging it and removing the battery and holding the power button, then rebooting, also does nothing. I don't think anything is wrong with the hardware since it was running perfectly before i wiped it, but now it just gets stuck at the lenovo logo right when i boot it.Is it because windows did not get installed correctly, or some drivers were corrupted, or something with the BIOS (which i am not really sure what is, i do... I don't know if this is the right place to post this because I'm new here. Sorry if it's in the wrong place. Today I was updating the graphics driver and GeForce experience. Everything seemed to go fine with the graphics driver, but when I was updating GeForce experience, the installation hung at the very end so I force closed it. Now when I restarted the computer, windows hung at the splash screen. Now I can't get it to boot at all. I tried my recovery disk and windows install disk, and both of them also hang at the splash screen. They only boot successfully when I unplug the SSD that has the OS installed on it. Now I am stuck as to what to do next. I also tried resetting the bios and that didn't do anything either. Please help me. I need this computer for my homework and I am being forced to type this entire paragraph on my iPad right now.

A:Windows gets stuck at splash screen when booting

I have now discovered that if I leave the computer on for around 5 minutes or so sitting on the splash screen, it does boot. This way worse than it used to be because I have an SSD. I used to see the splash screen for about 5 seconds before the computer would continue to boot into windows. So any help diagnosing the problem would be appreciated. I am now running chkdsk and I will post the results when it is finished.

I have a HP G42, its an old model but it does its job. Yesterday I was watching some videos and after pressing the F2 key to decrease the brightness of the screen, the screen went black, but i could still hear the video playing. After turning it off, I turned it on and i was greated, as usual, with the loading screen (HP logo in the middle of the dcreen and some text in the bottom left that sayd something like- press ESC for boot up screen). But the screen wouldnt go away to continue with the boot up. Pressing the ESC, F1-12 nothing happens, only the text in the bottom changes to something like- "F2 Starting report screen...". Tried taking out the battery and unplugging it, didnt work. Then i unplugged the battery and power plug and i pushed the power up button for 30 seconds, still didnt work. What could this be?

On Saturday, Windows updated to the Creators Update. When it was finished, everything seemed to work fine that night.  On Sunday, when I went to turn it on, it displays the black screen with the "Lenovo" logo, but nothing happenned. I left it like that while I went to work. The next day, Windows was up and running like normal, but as soon as I tried to get on Chrome, it went back to the Lenovo screen and has been like that every since.  I have read read a lot of the forums here with similar issues, and have tried those, but nothing works. These include: Removing battery, holding power button, plugging in AC adaptor, then pressing the NOVO button. It turns on, but remains on the Lenovo screen with no BIOS option. Removing the DVD drive. Removing, then reinstalling the hard drive. From what I've read, all signs point toward the hard drive being shot. However, I run weekly diagnostics on the laptop, and before the update, all files, drives, etc were in execellent shape.  Any my advice would be greatly appreciated.

My e-machine T3065 will remain stuck on the "windows is starting up screen" for, sometimes, hours at a time. This has been going on for about 2 months now. I normally only restart when my comp locks up while playing games (mainly DirectX errors during Call of Duty 2). I have to manually shutdown using the power button because I can't get out to the desktop and ctrl/alt/delete gets no response. After being on the "windows is starting is starting up" screen for a long time, it will finally say " Logon message The system couldn't log you on. Make sure your user name and domain are correct, the type your password again. Letters in password must be typed using correct case". I can then just click "ok" and it finishes booting up and works normally. I have no other slow downs during gaming or other internet use. I don't know if this is a virus or malware problem, or if I've got my passwords and user names messed up. I unchecked many startup items in hopes of speeding things up, to no avail. YES & NO, down to your UEFI/BIOS firmware setting.

As this a OEM manufacturer's PC with Pre-installed Windows 8.

1) Downgrade to Windows 7.
Downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7
Warning you must have the UEFI/BIOS firmware setting in Step Three set.

Make sure you read the NOTE at Step three.

2) If Using a USB Pen drive on a PC with a UEFI BIOS.
USB Pen drive need to be formatted to FAT32 as in
UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows
Take note of Step 11 for Windows 7.
Also you will need to use a USB 2.0 port, as there are no USB 3.0 drivers in Windows 7.

You will need to buy Windows 7.

Hello there. I have a dv7 notebook with Win 7 Home Premium installed on it. Everything is running fine, except a couple of days ago the notebook began to take too damn long to boot up when restarting or just when powering it on.

I noticed it gets "stuck" on a black screen, just like a blank DOS screen, for about 2 minutes before booting up Windows.

I have tried downloading new BIOS from HP website, resetting the BIOS settings, changing the boot order but nothing really works. It always stays on the black screen for around two minutes and then Windows boots up normally. No text is shown, nothing at all.

Does anyone has any clues on what it could be?

Thanks!!!

A:Notebook stuck for 2 mins on black screen before booting up

You may have a driver problem.

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? If your computer starts OK then, we can start investigating why it's not starting normally.

To get into Safe Mode tap the F8 key at startup. In case you're wondering, when you run in Safe Mode you're not loading drivers.

Hello everyone, this is a bit of an emergency for me, I'll sapre you the story and just state that I am a university student and I use my G500 everyday on campus for notes and communication. I bought a Lenovo G500 last year in July and it has been working well for me up until tonight. Yes, I had to disable the UEFI boot setting in the BIOS to install linux. So tonight I was using my laptop for some work and then wanted to watch a DVD while in bed. I inserted a DVD but couldn't get the OS to recognize it. No big deal I thought, I'll just restart and see if that fixes the problem. Upon restart I get the Lenovo splash screen...and that's it. The computer jsut hangs up there. Now I've been running this G500 on Linux since I bought it, without any issues. So I doubt it is the linux distribution (which I have kept up to date). Here are the troubleshooting techniques I have tried (and I have used the search function on this forum already, the solutions I found so far do not help/apply to my case). 1.) I powered down the system, removed the battery, unplugged the A/C adapter and held the power button for about 20 seconds to discharge the system. I then plugged the A/C adapter back in WITHOUT re-installing the battery and pressed the power-on button. No change in behavior. 2.) I re-installed the factory Seagate Hard Drive that still has Windows 8 installed (I kept... Read more

A:G500 stuck on lenovo screen

hi MadMechanic,

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you try the following:
1. Remove the AC adapter, battery and HDD.
2. Press and hold the power button for 20secs and then reconnect the AC adapter
3. Press OneKey Recovery button and choose BIOS Setup.

- Link to picture

If this works, try resetting the BIOS to the default settings by pressing F9 (or Fn+F9) then press F10 (or Fn+F10) to save and exit. When finished, try inserting the stock HDD (or the Samsung 840 Pro SSD) and see if it'll boot.

If the problem remains, try reseating the RAM (or if you have two memory modules, try using one stick only). If this doesn't work, I'm afraid you may need to contact Lenovo for service.

Regards

Hello, my notebook G50 is stuck on the black Lenovo boot screen ever since yesterday, and I've tried every available fix and solution there is on your forum. I've tried unplugging AC adapter and holding power button for 15 seconds, to no use, I've changed settings in BIOS, both F9 key and switching from UEFI to Legacy, still either keeps on loading the boot screen or just straight up says "boot failed, insert boot disk" and such and such. Gosh, I even tried replugging the HDD on the back of the notebook, still nothing, I even removed the CD Drive.Do you possibly have any other solution to my problem or are you telling me my laptop is done for? Unfortunately, I cannot even get past the Lenovo boot to Windows boot. If I access BIOS with the NOVO button and hit F9 followed by "Yes" and "Save and Exit", it goes back to the Lenovo boot screen and after some time says "EFI Network 0 for IPv4 boot failed". Accesssing BIOS again and switching from UEFI to Legacy triggers a "boot failed, insert boot disk" message on a black screen. What do I do from here? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY FIX AND / OR SOLUTION

I forgot to put my ideapad 300 on the charger the other day and it died, and now I can't get it to turn back on. It goes to the lenovo screen (but it's really really dim), and then it goes black again. It makes sounds and the little lights turn on when I press the power button. I've seen other things online say to remove the battery, but I'm not comfortable with doing that since it would basically require taking the whole laptop apart. Any suggestions?

A:Stuck in Lenovo Screen - G500

Hi Picchu,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

I?m sorry to hear that your G500 Laptop is not booting to Windows and displaying black screen, I suggest you to perform the Flee-Power and BIOS reset. Below are the steps to check and resolve the issue:

Remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer.
Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and try to turn ON the computer.
If the issue persists even after performing Flee Power then resetting BIOS to its defaults should resolve the issue
Now to access BIOS menu press the NOVO button which is located beside the power button after turning OFF the computer.
Then select the BIOS utility option to enter BIOS.
To reset the BIOS to its defaults click on ?F9? Key and select YES.
Now click on ?F10? Key to save the changes that are done in BIOS, the computer should automatically restart. Please check if the issue persists.

Hope this helps!!!

Do post us back if the issue still persists.

Best Regards

Shiva Kumar

So basically as of yesterday whenever I try to turn on my Ideapad 110 it just stays stuck on the Lenovo screen with the loading wheel and won?t proceed. I have read through other threads and tried all the following: 1. Using Automatic Repair Tools - Screen just stays stuck on Preparing Automatic Repair Tools2. Loading in Safe Mode - No matter which buttons I press the option to load in safe mode does not appear. Just stays stuck on the loading wheel3. Using the Novo button to launch System Recovery - once again it just stays stuck on the Lenovo loading wheel. i am at my wits end about this and seeing as this laptop is only a few months old I am not expecting such issues to occur. If anyone could please offer any support as to what to do I would be grateful, but I fee at this rate I?ll just be forced to download a new Windows ISO off my work computer and go off that, if that would work anyway. Thanks very much in advance

I have several T540p's in our fleet.  All are running windows 7 pro x64.  When the laptop is booted from full off, or resumed from sleep, the screen is very dim (say 10%) unless the power cord is plugged in.  When dim, you cannot raise the brightness from the keys.  This happens even at the BIOS and Lenovo boot screens, so it doesn't seem to be a windows problem, but something in the basic laptop configuration itself. Any ideas?

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I?m sorry to hear that your Lenovo ThinkPad T430 is not powering on.
Check if it's something to do with your AC adapter or battery. Insufficient power might cause some of those issues as well. Take the battery out and try to power on your laptop with the charger only. Make sure your laptop power jack and charger plug tip are securely connected. Try starting the laptop using good known AC adapter and battery.

Try connecting the device to an external monitor and check if it displays properly.

Please do let me know the happenings!

Best regards,
Mithun.

Yesterday I had this issue with my Lenovo R400 and I alredy solved but i want to post the solution on this forum for other people.  The ProblemMy laptop entered in hibernation mode and in the morning that i tried to turn it on it didnt. I pushed the power button i see the lights of 1 and A turned on and off twice, but didnt show the boot screen.. The screen was blank doing nothing. Solution 1Disconnect the power cable and battery and push the power button 11 times and in the 11th push the button for 30 seconds. Connect power and push power button. Then you can connect the battery. Solution 2 (The one that helped me)Removed the power cable, the battery and the internal battery of CMOS and let it disconnected all for 15 hours. I dont now the exact time that it have to be disconected but i read a post saying 15, maybe with few hours if enought.  Then you connect the cable and push F1 (until beeps)  and turn on the Laptop to enter in Supervisor Mode to set date and time F10 and exit. Connect the CMOS's battery and normal battery and is all. WARNINGIf you reset the CMOS and the laptop have a Supervisor Password enabled and you dont have it  you will be in big problems. Mine laptop didnt have it. I was luck because i didnt know it. Without the Supervisor password you cant set the date/time and the laptop wont boot again. You will need to change the MotherBoard. Or maybe you can find another solution but wont be easy. So be carefull about... Read more

Hi, Mquang  ?

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Is it possible for you to boot into Windows? Or does this message come up at the time right after the bios, and you can't get past that?

Also, you need to set the primary boot option to the primary hdd, (in the BIOS, Save and Exit).

Update us how it goes.

Hi everyone. I've got a big problem with my laptop. I will explain the whole situation.  I recently upgrade my laptop with a Samsung Evo ssd and a 8 Gb ram ddr3 1600. At the beginning everything was fine but then, sometimes I got screen problems (like flickering) and windows 10 crashed. Now the biggest problem : my laptop is stuck at lenovo logo with loading dots. Even if I try to load USB windows tool (to install new os) it doesn't work. I also tried to install Ubuntu unsuccessfully. I searched on the web all the possible solutions. I temporary removed the battery, ac adapter and hold the power button for 30 secs, but nothing. I also read to remove the cmos battery but I can't locate it in my IdeaPad z500. I also searched on the hardware maintainance pdf but there is nothing about that. I also removed ssd and new ram  with old components but it's still the same. I don't know what to do know, please help me!! I hope I didn't screw my laptop

Just started happening this week.   It's stuck at the boot screen "lenovo".   I tried many different methods like removing battery, holding power button to reset, etc.  The *only* way to get it to boot is the remove memory card, and put it back.  Then it will boot up fine.     It might then boot fine for the rest of the day.  But then the next day (or after being shutdown for a while), it happens again so i have to remove memory card, put it back, etc.  What could be the problem here ?  I tried both memory slots.  So i don't think it's particular to one slot.

Hi
I am having startup problem with my Lenovo G500.
I closed the lid after using the laptop with power cable connected. After 3 or 4 hours I just picked up the laptop and put it in the bag for traveling. After 12 hours when I took it out it was too hot.
I tried to switch it on but it stuck on Lenovo startup screen. Then I removed HDD and started again, It showed error of no bootable device. Then I connected HDD and started it worked fine for few days.
Now again same problem of startup screen.
I've done power flee procedure as well but of no use now.

Can anybody please guide me what's the suspected problem in the laptop?
Regards
Nasir

A:G500 - Startup stuck at Lenovo screen

hi nasirraza2009,

Welcome to the Forums.

When the machine gets stucked on the lenovo logo, can you boot into the BIOS (by pressing F2 or Fn+F2) and check if the HDD is detected
   - Link to picture

In addition, If the machine boots again into Windows again, to un a diagnostic on the HDD to verify its health.

  - Lenovo Storage Test or
  - HD Tune.

If you're unable to run a diagnostic on the drive then I recommend you contact lenovo and report the problem as there's likely an issue on the HDD / HDD's connection to the motherboard (or other internal component).
