Reconnect Bluetooth mouse after connecting to another device

Q: Reconnect Bluetooth mouse after connecting to another device

Hello! I recently bought a Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse. It's pretty good so far, but I've been annoyed by the fact that it's Bluetooth. This might make it handy when connecting to a laptop but that also means that I have to pair the device again every time I use it in another computer.

I am looking for a way to connect the mouse without going to settings then unpairing and pairing again the device. Could all that be done by a shortcut in the desktop (so I could assign it to one of my keyboard's macros)? Or just a faster way to connect again (through some type of utility perhaps).

Android is a good example of this. I put the mouse in pairing mode and the click on the mouse in the Bluetooth settings. No unpairing and pairing again. Really fast as well.

Thanks in advance!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently purchased an Acer Aspire V3-575T-53BP laptop running Windows 10 and a Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Mouse 3600.  They paired up fine initially, but each time after I turn the computer off and restart, the mouse does not connect.  When I go into Bluetooth Settings, it shows the mouse as still paired, but I have to remove the device and re-pair it to get it to work.  Obviously I don't want to have to do this everytime I start up the computer.  Any suggestions on how to resolve this?  Thanks!

A:Bluetooth Mouse won't reconnect after reboot

Go to the Bluetooth Module in Device Manager.Under Power Management there is an option which says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", uncheck it.Maybe you should check the USB hubs for this too.I am not sure but maybe it would help.

I have a Logitech M470 Bluetooth mouse, which I'm using with my Dell M6600 laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. Yesterday, the mouse abruptly stopped working, which I discovered was because I had bumped the switch that turns off the Bluetooth transmitter.

Once I realized that and turned the transmitter back on, the mouse will no longer connect to the laptop. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling what I believe are the relevant drivers, to no avail. The laptop detects the mouse, and then presents me with three options: Enter a security code, find out what the built-in security code is, or pair without a code. I choose the latter, and the mouse then shows up in the list of Bluetooth devices. However, the mouse does not actually work, and after a few seconds the mouse disappears from the list.

In the Event Viewer log, I see "Event 16, BTHUSB" with the following comment: The mutual authentication between the local Bluetooth adapter and a device with Bluetooth adapter address (00:1f:20:34:0b:f0) failed.

Hunting around for possible solutions, I found support.microsoft.com/kb/811805. That seems a little extreme, and I am not completely sure whether it is even relevant.

So...I am hoping that someone with more Bluetooth experience than I might be able to tell me how to troubleshoot this problem with a lighter touch.

I have it connected to COM3, but when I try to send/receive information I get a warning that a bluetooth device is trying to connect, and asks me for a pairing key

How can I really have the device connect to a serial port, without having to pair it every time I want to transmit data?

Passcode of device when connecting via Bluetooth,

I wanted to connect my laptop (sony with windows 8) with tablet GPS (lieca CS25with windows7) but the system requires the passcode (attached).

I couldn?t figure out how to find out the Passcode of the GPS (lieca CS25with windows7)? Can this be found by windows 7?

Thank you

A:Passcode of device when connecting via Bluetooth,

If you read the link it mentions:Double click the device you want to connect to and wait while a connection is established. You will be presented with a passcode that you must either verify as being the same on the other device (most likely if you are connecting to another computer), or enter the code on the device you are connecting to (most likely in case you are connecting to a phone).

The directions look easy enough but I personally haven't had a chance to work with Bluetooth so I can't test this out myself.

Hi there,
Im a newbie so hope i post this right.
Ok just for background information
I got a new bluetooth mouse,
Paired it to my laptop, it connected and worked fine. I left the laptop for about 15 minutes oly to come back to the mouse not working. I suspect it had put it self into sleep mode.
So i re-paired the mouse and i got the first BSOD.
I restarted, re connected and it worked fine.
The next day i reconnected again it was fine.. and then another BSOD.
Now whenever i connect it i get a BSOD automatically.
So i can delete the mouse, re find it, add it and BSOD
After restart if the mouse is on BSOD
if off, i turn it on, i get a BSOD.
Iv updated the drivers off the dell site. reinstalled driver, upgraded to SP2,
Last time i tried again, i managed to pair the mouse, but it didnt work.
going to the properties of the mouse, and then services the HID mouse driver was not selected, as soon as i select it i get the BSOD.
I therefore cannot use the mouse
Iv deleted all drivers (bluetooth and mouse) and restarted, iv tried updating. Iv also tried the mouse on a different laptop that is using a generic bluetooth dongle, it workes fine, and even now it can pair automatically to it and jus work, that laptop is XP SP3.

iv attached the TSF thing that i assume contains info on the BSOD.

bthport.sys seems to be causing the most issues. Here's a link to a KB article that describes something similar: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929577

Interestingly, the debugger can't locate symbols for this driver (even though it's a Microsoft driver) - so I wonder about it's compatibility with your system.

Also noted an issue with ctclsflt.sys - a Creative video filter

I ran an analysis of the last 20 minidump files - and all of them point at the bthport.sys driver

I'd suggest checking your system for the appropriate bthport.sys driver by using the above article. If you do not have that version, then I'd suggest getting the hotfix that is mentioned.

Another possibility is that there's an issue with your USB controller. Have a look at this article to see if it may apply (even thought it's slanted towards Microsoft Devices and XP): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315973

Can you try the bluetooth dongle on the other system? This'll help to rule out problems with it.

Here's a summary of the last 20 minidumps:

Hello,I own a stock x220 with an i7.I would like to use the Microsoft Designer Bluetooth mouse. Apparently that mouse uses bluetooth 4.0, which my laptop does not have (2.1 i believe but i am not sure and don't know how to check either). Will I be able to connect and use that mouse? Thank you

Solved!

Go to Solution.

A:X220: connecting a bluetooth 4.0 mouse

Hello,
According to the X220's hardware maintenance manual, the ThinkPad X220 contains a Bluetooth Daughter Card BDC-2.1, with FRU# (part#) of 60Y3271 or 60Y3275.  Searching on those FRU numbers reveals this page on the independent ThinkWiki site which says those cards are Bluetooth 3.0.  It also mentions that the part is likely to be swappable with a new Bluetooth 4.0 BDC card.

From looking at the details [age for the Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Mouse, it mentions Bluetooth Smart/Bluetooth 4.0 compatibility and specifically says "Bluetooth 4. enabled devices" in the System Requirements.

It is still possible that the mouse will work with the older Bluetooth 3.0 card, but just consume more power.  Or, you may need to replace the Bluetooth Daughter Card inside the X220 or use an external Bluetooth 4.0 USB adapter with it.  It would probably be best to check with Microsoft for an authoritative answer.

I have an HP MobileWorkstation Elitebook 8440w with Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit OS and I'm unable to add this mouse as a Bluetooth Device.

I was able to add the device to my old HP Elitebook 8530w with Windows Vista and it worked most of the time, but then it stopped working when the OS was updated to Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. I don't have administrative permission on the 8530w to remove the device to attempt adding it again to see if that helps. Also, I can't change the Bluetooth settings on that machine to rule out that as the problem due to the same lack of permission.

Rather than go back to my administrator to change the settings on the old 8530w and waste time trying to see if the mouse connects with it, I'd rather get my mouse to connect to my current 8440w laptop for which I can change the Bluetooth settings.

I tried to get the sys admins at work to fix this mouse problem, but they couldn't do it with the limited time they had to spare, especially since I have the option of using a USB mouse they provided. The problem is that I spent $50 on this mouse and it worked before the Windows 7 install on the 8530w and never worked on the 8440w.

I've tried everything suggested in other forum threads on this issue:
Turned mouse on using the power switch on the bottom and getting a steady green light
Held down the button on the bottom to make mouse discoverable with flashing red and green light

I recently purchased a new Vaio SB series laptop for my Mother. She wanted to have as less wires as possible so I bought her the Microsoft Bluetooth mobile keyboard 6000 and gave her my unused Asus Bluetooth mouse (M/N: M-RBB93). Initially I used the laptop for 4-5 days (without the keyboard on, but using the mouse) and experienced no problems. Now she has begun using it (both keyboard and mouse on), and is experiencing several problems using the mouse.

Firstly, the mouse would pause for 5 seconds or longer, while the following message appeared "the Bluetooth radio is switched on but is not discoverable... click here to change settings" The problem is the keyboard and mouse are successfully paired, and obviously I did not want to change the setting to discover Bluetooth devices. In fact a warning is included in settings to use only when wanting to connect devices. The only way I could make this message disappear was to check the box. However, now the mouse still pauses between every 2-15 minutes, which is obviously equally irritating.

I have tried reinstalling the devices as well as turning Bluetooth on and off, but neither action has resolved these issues.

From online searching I see that if wireless and Bluetooth are turned on at the same time then interference can result. However the wireless setting only allows me to set it to 2.4Ghz, so I cannot separate it from the Bluetooth frequency and question whether this is really the problem, considering no proble... Hello all,

I'm using this bluetooth mouse (Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Wireless Optical Mouse Black H3S-00003 - Best Buy) and it usually connects fine with my laptop. Sometimes, though, it looses connection seemingly out of nowhere. Then the BT icon disappears completely from Device Manager, the mouse disappears from Devices and Printers (although there is a 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device' listed, it is not the mouse and to the best of my knowledge I have no other BT connections so I'm not sure what that is. Going to properties of that device gives no useful information).

Finally, when I go to Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network Connections, there is nothing regarding bluetooth listed.

Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

I've searched everywhere for a solution to this and found nothing remotely close to what my problem.

I have a laptop (ASUS UL50VT) and i normally have it on my desk connected to a really basic wired mouse (logitech m100). However sometimes I like to move the laptop around for a few minutes and put it back on my desk so I would have to disconnect the mouse and when I reconnect it nothing happens. The computer does not many any noise or show any notification or change in any way in device manager. The laptop light does turn on however. I tried going to device manager and using "Scan for hardware changes" and it just stays stuck at "Scanning for plug and play compliant hardware" forever. Restarting my laptop always fixes the problem but it gets really annoying; there must be something wrong here.

Hi everyone, I'm having a serious problem with my ProBook 450 G3 (Full HD). Sometimes when tilting the lid, the screen turns off and on again several times, with the Windows device disconnect and connect sound playing. Sometimes this also happens unprovoked and often three, four times in a row. Then it doesn't happen again for 20 minutes or so, no matter if I move the screen or not. I have sent my laptop to HP for repair twice, the first time it came back saying they exchanged the connector, the second time it came back saying they couldn't replicate the problem. I always removed my SSD because it was not part of the original package and I was fairly certain it was a hardware issue because I: - had un- and re-installed the video driver several times and tried different versions- formatted the device and re-installed Windows 10 from scratch each time I got it back from HP. I read somewhere that it might be an issue with the fingerprint scanner, however I also tried deactivating and uninstalling the driver (keeps re-installing itself upon reboot), and this did not change anything. Before sending it back to HP again (this time I would want it replaced), I want to explore some options. I know this is a tough one because it happens randomly and sometimes not for an hour, so it is very hard to replicate and figure out exactly where the problem lies. Any ideas? Thanks!

I've been having an issue over the past couple days which occurs at random, in which my keyboard and mouse connect and disconnect randomly. They're both plugged into the USB's on the back of the motherboard firmly and have a good connect, but they will lose power and come back on within a second. I can tell because of the DPI setting light on my mouse, and my keyboard is backlit. A couple hours ago, it started doing it to both, at the same time, rapidly- just lights blinking on and off at an inconsistent rate, with Windows blooping occasionally saying a device is connected.

I'm going to try some different ports and see if that fixes anything, but has anyone else had this happen? Motherboard is a Gigabyte Z68X-UD4-B3... I'd figure that if 2 USB ports are affected by whatever is causing the problem, it would do the same on all of them? Is it likely that my board is screwed? I had power outages a couple days ago that came on and off (as it does any friggin' time it rains in my neighborhood), so could that mess with it?

I paired Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse to my Windows 7 Professional x64 HP ZBook 14 which is connected to my company's corporate domain. Everything worked beautifully until they had to re-image my PC to resolve a disk encryption issue. That issue is resolved, but I have had bad luck getting my keyboard and mouse to pair and remain connected ever since. However, that's not even the problem now. After troubleshooting my Bluetooth issues by installing different driver versions, pairing and un-pairing my keyboard and mouse, changing settings in Bluetooth Support Service and more, I now have two Bluetooth Peripheral devices that always appear in Device Manager. I believe these are remnants of previously paired devices, but I can not get rid of them no matter what I try. These devices do not show up in Devices and Printers, they become Bluetooth Low Energy HID Devices when I install the computer manufacturer's drivers... As I typed this I thought of installing the Intel Bluetooth drivers I had previously installed to see what would happen... Ok that made things worse. The Bluetooth settings page says "Bluetooth is turned off" and there are no options on the settings page or the system tray to turn Bluetooth on.

I've tried:
uninstalling the device and rebooting
installing the latest updated chipset drivers from the dell website
windows updates
pretty much all of the advice here: http ://troubleshooter.xyz/wiki/fix-usb-device-not-recognized-device-descriptor-request-failed

Any other ideas?

I am NOT trying to connect a cell phone to my laptop. I am not trying to connect anything I don't think (unless my bluetooth mouse counts?).

I have no idea what a Bluetooth Peripheral Device is. I took some screenshots of the messages I receive every time a wake my computer up or turn it on. (1st, smaller picture)

i have installed the correct driver for this belkin bluetooth usb dongle model: F8T012XX1

but in device manager, it has the belkin device and microsoft bluetooth enumerator, which is great. but when u get further down the list. it has a tab named "other devices" and then a subtab with "bluetooth peripheral device" which has an exclemation mark on it.

i have searched for driver software using the update service but it cant find no update.

i have looked for the name of the manufacturer but found nothing.

i then disabled the unknown device, and sent a picture to my mobile phone. which confirmed that it was not the belkin bluetooth device. so i uninstalled the unknown device, restarted the computer. then when i logged in, it said that it had found a new device and wanted me to find the CD that came with it..

i would be greatful if any1 could help me on this..

thanks in advance

What type of keyboard have you got?
Have you got any remote control devices around.
Have you got a headset for your phone.
Have you got anything that may be bluetooth that you dont know about (headphones etc).
Have you had a look at ghost devices on the tutorials;

This is really starting to annoy the hell out of me. I just picked up a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse, the Notebook 5000 mouse to be exact for my home entertainment center.

I have my PC ran to a monitor and a 55 inch Samsung LED LCD TV for watching movies etc. The problem is, the HDMI cord is run threw the wall so the PC is in another room so I cant use the normal mouse on the PC. I bought a bluetooth mouse due to the increased range but I'm having nothing but issues.

I have the Microsoft Bluetooth dongle btw, didn't come with the mouse, the mouse actually comes with no dongle.

Anyway it connects fine but if I stop using it for like an hour or whatever it disconnects and nothing I do will reconnect it unless I take my other mouse, go into bluetooth devices, delete it and readd it all over again.

WHY THE HELL does it keep doing this lol?

It's very annoying, I sit down to watch a movie and discover I cant start it without first going into the other room and readding my mouse.

I'm well within range and I've tried moving the bluetooth mouse to the same room as the PC to use it with the PC and it still does the same thing.

Help?

It's your dongle. I have the same mouse and it works absolutely fine. I'll bet you have the USB option set to power the dongle down when unused. How's the radio in the mouse supposed to wake up a sleeping dongle?

Is that Windows Live Messenger? If so, can you try reinstalling it. Can you connect to the internet? Otherwise install Pidgin:

Hello everyone,
I was going about my business playing games on steam when all of a sudden my mouse stops working.  I go to my bluetooth settings and it says I have a driver error. I look further at the properties and it says I should update drivers(code 1) so I do
that but it says that is was unable to find drivers along with some other stuff(look at the end of this post).  I tried removing the device and re-pairing the device but still the same driver error pops up.  I tried turning my computer on and off
but I get the same error this time code 18, so I uninstall drivers and re-pair the mouse.  No luck, I get the same driver error.  I wonder if it's the mouse that's the problem so I try pairing it to my friends macbook and it works so it's not the
mouse.  Mind that the mouse was working just fine for about a month and all of a sudden driver errors.  Even tried replacing the batteries.
My specs:
*I have an MSI GS60 ghost pro 606- Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth 4.0
*When I go to "devices and printers" on the devices properties under HARDWARE tab I see three things:
1. Bluetooth LE Service(00001812-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb)-This is what has an exclamation mark next to it
2. Bluetooth LE Generic Attribute Service
3. Designer mouse
When I try to update the Bluetooth LE Service I get a message saying: "windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attpemting to install it&qu... Read more

I am having difficulty to get my laptop paired with a Bluetooth enabled cell phone. If I attempt to connect from the cell phone to my pc, a key code is asked for and needs be entered.

My question is how I can get this key code which needs be entered on the Bluetooth Device. On the laptop I navigated from Control Panel and to Bluetooth Devices, then clicked Add Wireless Device, but no device is detected even though the Bluetooth on the cell phone was turned on. Device Manager indicates drivers for the Bluetooth device are installed correctly.

Recently I tried to pair a bluetooth mouse with my T450s and... failed. Perplexingly the bluetooth device doesn't appear in device manager at all.I've reinstalled the intel bluetooth and wifi drivers multiple times.I've checked all drivers and bios are upto date.I've gone into the bios and enabled/disabled bluetooth to try and 'kick' it into life, all made no difference.I've even replaced the wifi card with an AC-8265 and experimented with swapping the antenna. Even after all that (with the current state being the antenna's the right way around and bluetooth enabled):There is no bluetooth device in window device manager. There is no 'unknown' or other device in device manager. The windows BT troubleshooter says:  "device does not have bluetooth"I've even tried booting up an ubuntu live cd and that can't find any bluetooth either. What am I missing?  Is there some other switch that would disable bluetooth?

Yoga 2 Pro, Win 8.1Blueooth device disappeared.Trying to repair the Intel Wireless driver. (bt247w81.exe) This is a two stage process.Stage one ends with "Completng the Intel bluetooth Driver SEtup Wiazard" with "Install Intel Bluetooth Driver now" checked.Click "Finish" Stage two Starts with "Welcome to the Intel PROSet/Wireless Tools Installation Wizard", proceeds to Repair and fails with: "Cannot write value C:\Program Files(x86)\Intel\Bluetooth\ to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\...\Paths. Verify that you have suffifcient access to thhat key..." error when attempting to write to registry. I believe this is because bt247w81.exe launches the Intel driver installer without admin privileges.I've tried launching bt247w81.exe with "Run as Administrator" and launching it from a cmd.exe which has been launched as Administrator. How am I supposed to install these drivers?
