I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, I have installed Windows Seven on my HP Pavilion laptop. Everything works just fine, except the Aero feature. The taskbar, for example, is dull and grey, instead of being glass-like and transparent. I did a problem sweep with Windows, and it said that I had to install the graphics card driver. I cannot seem to find it, however. What am I supposed to do?

Welcome to Seven forums Glouprie: Well first we need to know if your running 32 bit or 64 bit windows 7, Then go into device manager.click on display adapter>properties>details tab>drop down menu>hardware id and Copy and Paste the harware id string. This will give us the Nvidia card your laptop is using, and we can get a driver form their. Most likely you'll need to modify the .inf file to get it to work. Thanks . Fabe

Hey Guys,

I am currently having trouble on my Hewlett Packard Pavilion dv6000 model and its running on Windows Vista. I am having some trouble with my sound card. My sound card driver is the Contextant High Definition Audio driver. I clicked the disable button for the sound card on the device manager and then pressed enable again and it didn't work like it used to (there was a red x on the volume speaker icon on the bottom right hand corner and it said no audio device installed). Thinking it was an updating issue I went to this website to update the drivers (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=ob-45570-1). It still didnt work (red x was still there on speaker icon). Then I went back to the device manager and right clicked on the sound card driver and then clicked "roll back driver" under the details tab to make it go to its old functions and it changed. On n the speaker volume icon on the bottom right hand corner you could control the level of the volume but you couldn't hear the "ding" it does when changing the audio levels and too make sure I went on youtube to watch a random video and there was no audio at all. How can I get my old sound card functions back without rebooting my computer completely if possible?

Thanks

I have an HP Pavilion DV6000 (more exactly DV6736NR) laptop here and I cannot find drivers for the video or the "base system device". I have drivers downloaded for Vista (which everyone says works in Windows 7); but, when I try to install them, the process aborts with a message that the best driver for the devices are already installed.

Problems are "base system device" has an exclamation point with it so it isn't working properly and the display adapter is listed as "standard VGA graphics adapter", which gives me no resolutions that appropriate for wide screen..

Hi,

I have a brand new HP Pavilion g7-1077si notebook, Windows 7 x64. I did a clean install. I found all appropriate drivers on HP's site or newer ones from Intel, Realtek, etc.

I have one item without drivers: "PCI Device". Device manager shows the following hardware Ids for it:
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_166B103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&SUBSYS_166B103C
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF0000
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5209&CC_FF00

I searched for 10EC and 5209 and they seem to be Realtek identifiers. My Ethernet port is from Realtek and I'm using the latest drivers from the HP site, and it works well: "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller".

But "PCI Device" still shows. Any help appreciated!

I don't know if it will happen, but I'm hoping (fingers and toes crossed). I purchased a new laptop and unfortunately, it's running Win8 (ugh!). I've been trying to deal with 8, but there are SO many things that tick me off about it that I want to downgrade it to 7. I have the license key to do so, so it will be a legitimate downgrade, but I can't find drivers for Windows 7. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I've included some of the system specs below. If you want/can help and want/need any further information, let me know, I'm pretty savvy with a computer and I can get it for you.

The biggest difficulty I think will be the drivers for the touchscreen, which isn't a necessity. If I can run Win7 and not have the touchscreen, I'll still do it. I just want to get off Win8.

Need Video Driver for HP Pavilion 6835.

System information (a program called Everest) identifies the video chipset as Intel i752. No drivers are available for this system from the HP site except for the keyboard. I've searched Google and examined at least 40 links. DriverGuide shows nothing for this i752, nor does the Intel site.

It would be fabulous if someone out there has the driver for this machine or could point me to one.

If I don't find the driver, I'll have to put in a PCI video card.

I was curious if you guys could update the driver for "HP Pavilion 15-au030wm" because 4454 is outdated and doesn't support new games that are a bit intensive. I'm asking this because Intel's driver, 4542 causes IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screens of death occasionally, I'm using the beta driver before that version hoping it resolves that blue screen of death. Thnaks for your help, I just would like a more updated video driver. -Kevin P.

A:Video Driver for HP Pavilion 15-au030wm

This is not a direct line to the HP software engineers responsible for writing drivers. Your laptop is pretty new so there is a chance HP will post new drivers for the Intel 520 video at some point but there is usually a couple month lag between when Intel releases new drivers and HP makes a new driver based on that Intel upgrade.  I would stay away from Beta Intel drivers. You are always best off using the latest posted HP driver. The Intel 520 video is not going to handle anything very "intensive" and drivers are perhaps not the problem here.

Recently, the video on my system has gone nuts. I'm running Win7 64 bit SP1 It started with random "spots" that look like pixels. I started updating the driver through catalyst installer, which BSOD'd during the install. Now Catalyst Control Center won't run and my max resolution is 1400 X 1050. I know the resolution was higher, I think 1280 by something. I need help getting and installing a legacy driver to get my video fixed. It's a ATI Radeon HD 5700. While i'm posting here, I'm downloading another package from AMD.

Your thoughts?

A:Baaad Video Driver - Radeon and Win7

Do the spots occur before or as Windows loads as well? If so then it's a card fault and not a driver issue.

Why do you need a legacy driver? The Radeon HD 5700 series is a current model and supported by the latest drivers from the AMD website.

Elsewhere I had a question about installing a PCIe video card to a failing

Before shutting down, I disabled the installed driver at the Radeon entry.
Previous expectation was that the HD would boot to 640 base video until
a new driver could be installed.

What went wrong?

Is it possible to recover from this error from a CD or will I have to lose
the data?

Repair install stopped at the same place probably looking for video. I've tried everything I can think of including loading the HD on another machine, asking for Safe Mode and then would turn the driver back on. No good doing that either.

When it ran in trace mode loading Safe Mode options I did not save the

This is in Win 7. Would a driver reinstall from the factory CD salvage my disk?

What would anyone else do if the "Disable" option were engaged?

A:Disabling a Radeon Video driver in Win7 will not boot to the OS

How do you know that your onboard video not working.
Have to test with another computer, for your monitor.
Or have you get another monitor to check if your computer working or not.

Also you did not indicate is monitor or TV you are connected to.
Some monitor do fail at times, &or monitor setting is wrongly set.
Also if the cable pin is out &or broken, bent, it may affect the video.

For the PCIe video card it will have a copy of CD with drivers included for various OS.

It is not right to delete the driver, as normal it would not affect if you install another driver.
Additional drivers may not affect the system, it indicate as not connected only.

I'm working with a Dell Dimension C521 PC. It came with a PCI-Express video card which apparently has failed, yet the motherboard itself has on-board video. The system will boot using this video output (as opposed to the card which produced nothing) but when it finally gets to windows the auto-detect driver routine kicks in and begins to detect the video card, prompting the user to "Continue Anyway" to finish installing unsigned drivers. Unfortunately this event takes place in front of the installation of the USB keyboard and mouse (times like these I wish it had PS/2 ). Anyway, whether I boot up into Safe Mode or normal a prompt comes up about installing drivers for the on-board chipset. I can't interact with it because the driver install routine for the keyboard/mouse becomes interrupted.

A:Dell Dimension C521; USB key/mouse driver load interrupted by video card driver load

Bump. I've been thinking... the only way I think this can be fixed is if I boot from a Linux CD or something similar and delete a particular set of drivers for this video card. It can't prompt you to install any drivers if they don't exist, right? But I don't know where to go to delete such files and prevent them from automatically trying to install themselves. Any ideas?

HP Pavilion dv6000 4gb RAM Have an HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop with an Intel Core 2 T7200 CPU and am trying to get it to recognize 4gb of RAM. Am using Windows XP Professional as my operating system and am aware that if 4gb of RAM is installed correctly the operating system will only display 3.25 gb of RAM.

Here's my situation: I installed (2) 2gb chips and the computer wouldn't boot. So I downgraded to (1) 2gb chip and (1) 1gb chip and 3gb of RAM showed up as working on my computer.

I later heard that if I update the BIOS I can upgrade to 4gb of RAM. So I searched around for the lastest BIOS with no luck. The HP site for my computer only has a BIOS update for computers with AMD processors. I managed to find a BIOS that was compatible with my computer and reinstalled the 4gb of RAM and this time the computer did boot. BUT now when I look at the system properties it shows only 2.99gb of RAM which is even less than the 3.00gb that was showing up when I only had 3gb of RAM in my computer!

I know the 4gb of RAM will show up as 3.25gb in my system properties if it is being recognized correctly and my question is does anyone know where to get the correct BIOS upgrade for my computer so the RAM will be fully recognized? Originally I had BIOS version 16 so it would have to be later than that.

Thanks.

I have had BSOD for a while and being super busy I did not have time to look at it and get it fixed. Well Being a computer guy I assumed I could fix it myself. But with tons of research and trying to use every guide I can find I decided to try here(probably should have came here first). Today I started Driver Verifier and having it check all drivers. It crashed a couple times before I realized it was a process I had to stop. I then came here to try and get some help sorting out the driver. Thank you in advance for any and all help anyone provides.

I have had an HP Pavillion dv6000 for a few years, and suddenly, it will not power up at all.  I can not determine that anything at all happens when I press the power button.  What's weird is that when I connect the power, the AC LED (the one with the lightning bolt above it) lights, and stays lit for 30 seconds, and then turns off.  During that time, and thereafter, the power light will not come on at all, and the computer will not power up.  I have tried removing the battery and power cord and holding the power button for 45 seconds, multiple times, but nothing seems to work.  I hope you can offer some advice on things to try.   Thanks,Zach

I have to change the internal hard drive of an HP Pavilion Entertainment Dv6000 laptop from 2007. My question is, does the new internal hard drive have to be a specific one or any I might find at the store? In other words are all laptop internal hard drives generic?

A:Need HP Pavilion DV6000 Drivers

Yes this np you will be able to find your drivers for DV6000 on this page -
Select software and drivers HP Pavilion dv6000 CTO Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

You can also finder w7 video drivers on 1 of these 3 sites -
Ati - Graphics Drivers & Software
Nvidia - Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers
Anything Intel you can download here but i dont think they have any W7 drivers yet but the vista drivers work - Download Software, Drivers and Utilities

If you cant get a driver to install because of an OS mismatch error (wont install) do the following - match the OS the drivers are written for with the compatibility mode you choose eg vista with vista compatibility mode :

To install a driver OR program in compatibility mode - right click the setup.exe file - click properties - click compatibility - check run in compatibility with vista/xp etc - check run as administrator - leave the rest blank. Start setup.exe and install.

Hello!I am using a HP Pavilion dv6000 notebook, with a 32-bit Vista business, 2 processors of Genuine Intel with 1.73GHz each, and only 1GB of RAM. I would like to upgrade the RAM to 4GB, but I don't know if that's possible, and/or how to do that. I hope you guys can help me.Thanks.

A:How to upgrade RAM on HP Pavilion dv6000 ?

We need to know the exact model number from the tag on the bottom of the laptop. You can then just check by model number with Crucial at crucial.com to check max memory specs. Some of the dv6000s max at 2 gigs as you likely already know. 2 gigs is dirt cheap and would be a major improvement. With 32 bit Vista even if you install 4 gigs only 3 will be available for Windows to use. So 2 gigs is your best bet anyway. The difference between 1 gig and 2 is huge, the difference between 2 and 3 is negligible, in my opinion.
