I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have Ideapad Flex 14 Ideapad S100 with Windows 10 having latest updates. A few days ago I had realized that thouch screen doesn't work any more. After consultation with Lenovo Turkey, which was insisting on recovery, I recovered my ideapad turning back to an image taken by Win10 two months ago. This step did not help. Some how next day after recovery in the morning it worked only for a few hours then stopped working again. I tried to disable and enable the "HID-compliant device" or other relaten USB items and reinstalled/activated, it did not help.I hope it is a software/driver failure and this problem will be solved soon by Lenovo.

My Ideapad S415 touch screen has suddenly stopped working.  I've had a tech connect to my PC and try a BIOS reload of default settings, plus unistalling all "HID" devices in Device Manager with no resolution.  I've also tried a system restore with no luck. The system properties does see the touch capability. Suggestions? Thanks.

hi Hersh,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

First do a Power Drain
     (If the battery is removable)
Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,
                  If not
I suggest you contact Lenovo Technical Team about the Issue as this may be a device detection issue.

Hi there, sorry to be a bother.Like the title says, my touch screen stopped working. I went on to my computer one afternoon and found my mouse stuck in the top left corner, fidgeting. This was what I was expiriencing. (My touch-screen still worked fine at the time, but I still couldn't do anything or control the mouse, but I could tell that it was still working and it still responded.) After a bit of time and a few restarts later, it went back to normal, but my touch-screen then stopped working. I'm used to the touch-screen working incorrectly occasionally, and much like the mouse thing, a restart or two helps. It has now been three days and my touchs-creen still does not work. I've tried many of the solutions found in these forums, but to no avail. I am running Windows 10 and have had this computer for 2+ years.  Thanks.

Hello everyone, my touch screen on my lenovo ideapad z400 touch is not working anymore.  The only weird thing I remember is some ghost touchpoint on my screen. Hi, Did a fresh install of windows and drivers on my 720s after using it for a few weeks. Everything seems to be working except the OSD on the function keys Read through forums and other resources and they say it's connected to the energy management driver. I did install, and reinstalled that but it's just a driver and no software can be seen on the start up menu or list of apps.  Is there something else I need to install to have the OSD working for function keys? Appreciate anyone who can help.

Hi, I'm looking at buying this laptop, but i came across a few questions: 1) Can this laptop support up to 32gb RAM as it is mentioned in some youtube reviews? 2) Can this laptop support video through the USB-C port as well, or just data? I'm looking at connecting 2 portable USB-C monitors, 1 through the Thunderbolt port and the other through the normal USB-C port. 3) Is the Thunderbolt port 2 lanes or 4? 4) Is this 4k screen anti-glare as well? 5) How would this 4k screen work connected to 2 FHD portable monitors, in terms of resolution? 6) Is this 4k screen suffering from backlight bleeding as some reviews suggest? Thanks in advance.

A:Lenovo Ideapad 720s 15IKB Touch 4K - specs

Answers to some of your questions: 1) Yes, it supports up to 32GB RAM, however you would need two 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 SO-DIMM modules, which are rather expensive.2) I can confirm, that one USB-C port supports ThunderBolt 3 and DisplayPort 1.2a connection.4) No, it's a glossy panel.6) Most of IPS screens suffers from backlit bleeding problem. It's mostly depends on unit, which you've receive.

Hi Support, I bought my IdeaPad a month ago. After few days of using i saw a black horizontal line on the screen. I opened a ticket and sent my laptop for a warranty repair. Today i recieved my laptop, and black line issue was fixed. BUT!!!! After the 'repair' two new issues are intoduced!1) This is the craziest to my mind - my screen is assembled with an issue. It is curved in the middle of the screen, and i'm afraid if i push that a place a bit harder my screen will be damaged. Do you have a quality Control service? I cant imagine your engineers have not seen what they done. 2) After repair i can see a backlight bleed on the bottom of the screen. It was not there before, so it's an issue after the repair!  I'm totally mad! How come you could make two critical issues from one? I need your help, even if that sounds funny

Hello, I need help fixing the Touch Screen on my Flex15D Ideapad. I did a fresh install to Windows 10 and the Touch Screen stopped working. I tried every solution on these forums by going into Device Manager and disabling/uninstalling the HID compliant touch screen driver along with the HID Usb driver in that same section.  I also checked the Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller(A111) and that doesn't exist there. I checked to make sure the USB Hub is enabled and not disabled under Universal Serial Bus controllers section. I tried installing every Driver in the book from the Support section. I even tried reverting back to Windows 8.1 and STILL NOTHING and I went through all the same steps as I did on Windows 10. And apparently this is a rampant problem with Lenovo Touch Screen laptops with no real solution. Is there anything that works? Thanks.

A:Extend ram - 310 Touch-15IKB Laptop (ideapad) - Type 80TW - Model 80TW0004US

Hi smbarrionuevo aka Sebastian,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As indicated in the specification of the hardware manual (page27):
Max supported RAM (OEM recommendation is 12 GB
Slots: SODIMM 1, on board 1

Since you have a soldered 4 GB ram, you can have another 8GB to replaced the 4GB on the slot for 12 GB.
Can't really vouch for functionality for more than 12GB although third party reseller scanner like crucial may offer something bigger like here. This was also done on by fellow member slikvic24 adding 16GB to his ideapad 310-15ISK.
Always get return options to be on the safe side.

If you are ok with adding just 8GB then part number and suitable 8GB OEM ram are listed here along with substitute if you need it.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards

Once it even got worse, but it certainly didn't fix anything... Hi Nancy,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Please perform the below steps:

Press Windows + X
Select Device Manager.
Find the Touch screen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices > USB Touchscreen Controller (A111).  You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".
Restart your computer.
Re-pen the Device Manager, and confirm that the Touchscreen is now listed under Human Interface Devices.

I hope the above information helps.

I know a few others have asked this question, but I haven't seen anyone report a solution or any follow-up to suggestions given. Here's what happened: my touch screen worked normally on Friday, then I went away for the weekend and didn't use my laptop and when I started working on Monday I realized my touch screen didn't work. Here's what I have done to try to fix it:1. Restarted the computer2. Disabled & enabled the HID-compliant touch screen in the Device Manager 3. Disabled & enabled the Generic PnP Monitor in the Device Manager4. Checked for driver updates for the touch screen (it said the most up-to-date driver is already installed)5. Tried to roll back the driver for the touch screen, but that button was greyed out, so it wasn't an option6. Unstalled the most recent Windows updates (there were a couple from the previous week)7. Unstalled the HID-compliant touch screen (but when I restarted the computer, there it was again)8. Talked to the IT guy for my work, who said I did everything he would have done, and suggested that I write a post on this forum. I saw a suggestion in another thread that the driver for the touch screen could be corrupted, but I didn't really see any instructions on how to unstall/reinstall the driver itself. I would like to try that if someone could tell me how that's done. Any other ideas? My Lenovo is probably 4-5 years old, Windows 10 for well over a year, installed a new anti-virus software a few months ago with no issues... Read more

The touchscreen on my Flex 15 stopped working. I am not sure exactly when, but in the last few months.  I am already on Win10, and it has worked fine since the Win10 upgrade over a year ago.  In Device Manager, I can see the HID Touch Screen entry.  I tried uninstalling and deleting it, followed by a restart.  Reinstalled itself on start-up, but no joy.  It claims to be working.   I have seen other similar posts saying to delete entries under Mice... but I don't see any Touch Screen entries there.Interestingly, I see most of the drivers have Event dates of 2-Jul 2017, saying "Device migrated". I am suspecting some delightful Micorsoft "improvement" on that date may have been the cuplrit, but I also feel like the touch screen may have been working after that date.  Unfortunately, I don't use the touch screen very often, but I DO need it now and then. Thoughts?

This computer is not even a week old. When this first happened I saw that on the bottom side of the laptop were two switches, one for the battery and I guess one for the touch screen, by the way there is not literature on what so ever, and after flipping the switch the touch screen worked perfectly for about a day. Now it has stopped working again, but the switch is in the correct position. All of my drivers are up to date. I am so frustrated with this. the mouse works fine, it is just the touch screen. Please, someone tell me you have had a similar issue with this series of the ideapad and that you have been able to fix it, I really don't want to have to send it in as I use it everyday for work.

Hi eking4044, welcome to the forum,

     Here is your user guide:
http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_s410ps410ptouchs510ps510ptouch_ug_english.pd...

     Here is your HMM:

http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_s410ps410ptouchs510ps510ptouch_hmm.pdf

Both of those "switches" on the bottom are for the battery. One is a spring loaded switch to open battery, after you push the other one into the open position. This is how you remove the battery, and have nothing to do with the Touch Screen.

Did you delete any of the software that came with your system? The easiest thing you could do is backup your user files to a CD, or some external hard drive, then reset your system using the system recovery. See page 20 of the user guide for the recovery routine. Make sure you have a backup of your user files, before attempting the recovery, as it will set up your system like new. This should solve your problem, but if it doesn't, please post back with further information.

Cheers

I noticed my touch screen stopped working yesterday May 14, 2018. I have looked under Human Interface Devices and the HID-Compliant touch screen Properties window says "The device is working properly." I have also tried to update the driver, but the system says there are no updates available and that the only driver in existence is the original (June 21, 2006). I have also tried disabling and enabling the device and several restarts with no luck. Any advice?

Also, Try to download the Graphics and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page.

Hi friends. I am using Lenovo Ideapad 310-15IKB running on Windows 10 64-bit, Anniversary Update. Lately, I got a BIOS update through? But after converting I noticed that some of the hotkeys like airplane mode, disable mic, disable camera, disable touchpad are not working (Disable toucpad did work, but the disabled icon wasn't displayed). So then I reverted back to Legacy mode using same software. But still it didn't work. I tried reinstalling all the drivers from the Lenovo support website. But still it didn't work. Is there any solution for this problem? Some keys like volume and brightness still work.

I have a brand new IdeaPad 320 and a brand new USB-C dock (40A90090US). I did have to install the driver for the dock (no mention of that in any documentation!) and most things now appear to be working (keyboard, mouse, storage) EXCEPT for the monitor outputs. Neither the two dock DP ports (with DP-DVI adapters) nor the VGA output produce any output, and no additional monitors show up on my Multiple Displays screen (which does work when I plug the monitor into the laptop's HDMI port directly). Is the USB-C dock just incompatible with an IdeaPad 320? I was told during an online chat prior to purchase that it would work, with the exception of USB-C charging. I feel like I'm missing a driver (I tried DisplayLink but apparently that's not it either).

Your laptop model is not listed as being compatible with that dock (40A90090US) per the the list of compatible systems at http://accsmartfind.lenovo.com/products/40A90090US, so that may be your problem.    Best of luck,

I have a problem with flickering screen which sometimes is very intensive, sometimes not. Mouse pointer is also behaving strangely according to flickering intensity. I tried reinstalling OS, drivers and finally found that the problem is caused by Intel UHD Graphics 620 drivers. Tried these from Lenovo website, also generic from Intel website, but result is the same. Other drivers (including BIOS) are up-to-date. External monitor (with 620 drivers) and BIOS/Windows install screens works great, so I gues the problem is not in hardware. Now I have to use default Microsoft basic display adapter, but with this I am unable to connect external monitor. Is it worth waiting for new drivers? Or should i give back this computer to warranty (bought only yesterday). Laptop specs:i5-8250U 1.6Ghz8GB DDR4 RAMNVIDIA GeForce MX150 2GBSamsung 850 Evo (changed instantly after buying)

Hi Nour-J, The page error might have been a temporary issue. I just check the support site and its currently working.  In any case the system should also have a copy of the drivers in "D:\drivers\" if it had windows pre-installed.If any case installing the camera drivers does not work, try re-installing the chipset drivers also. Hope this helps. Cheers,

Towards the center at the bottom left there is a bright white spot about 2-3 mm in diameter, now i called lenovo about this and they said it would be covered if there was no external damage to the device, the problem is that 3 months prior the corner of the bottom cover of the laptop cracked leaving a fairly large hole, i called lenovo about this as well months prior and of course accidental damage is not covered in the warranty. My worry is that lenovo will not cover my screen repair because of this cover damage that occurred 3 months prior. A picture of the damage of the cover is provided. If anyone can help me mediate this situation id greatly appreciate it.

My bag with the laptop inside dropped from a chair, and then the screen bezel cracked. I want to replace it, but I don't know how. I don't see it in 'Part Lookups' either, so I don't know what part number it is. I see small little wires sticking out after I left it alone a few days, thinking that the cracks were okay. Can someone help? With wires sticking out like that, is it covered by the warranty? (mine is the limited warranty, I don't think I purchased the accidental damage protection)EDIT: is the small wires I mentioned and in the picture really wires? I'm beginning to suspect something that looks like wire is just caught there. I've taken apart an ASUS laptop screen bezel before, and I don't remember seeing wires.

Hi, I wonder if someone from Lenovo could advise me please. I bought this model last November, and since that time, I am experiencing infrequent crashes on Windows 10.. The crashes, are when I put the display into full screen mode using Youtube or playing a video in Media Player Classic.. This clip from Youtube explains, exactly what happens... with a loud buzzing noise from the audio port..  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bn39vWq0-qI&t=0s&list=LLj-zSUg3n44KBE5xDNFLGvw&index=20 I have re-installed Windows10 (Creators Build)on 7 separate occassions...still same problem. BIOS is set to EFI'mode...All drivers are up to date from support site at Lenovo..and all Windows Updates are current.I have ran MemTest nothing... Changed Power option's settings, disabled Hardware acceleration in Chrome,Installed Graphic Drivers in Safe Mode.. The only clue was from a Log from Windows, which stated The speed of processor 3 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report. I have returned it to the vendor, - they sent it to their engineer, who couldnt find anything wrong.. Or is the next step taking it to an authorised Lenovo engineer?? I hope someone from Lenovo, can advise me on this recurring problem.. Many Thanks
