Wifi/bluetooth card question

Q: Wifi/bluetooth card question

Hi There

I use the Bluetooth function of card often, but I don't use the wireless AC part of the card, as I use 1gb Ethernet connection, is Disabling the wireless card proper thing to do, and yet still be able to use the Bluetooth in Windows 10 Pro 64bit? or should I reenable the card, and just not connect to any networks with it?

Also has a hard time showing devices to connect to lately, not sure why, drivers I guess are up to date for it

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I have a laptop INSPIRON E1705 with a WLAN card (p/n DW 1390) installed. I would like to replace it with a WiFi/Bluetooth combo card so I can have Bluetooth capability. What is the recommended card to buy that is compatible with Windows 10?

A:Replace WiFi PCIe card with WiFi/Bluetooth combo card.

Given that there will be no antenna inside the system for bluetooth, you're better off with one of these:

Hi all. I'm not sure if this question should go into this forum but here goes. I have a PC I planned to hook up to a TV. The PC would use 802.11g WiFi to access my home network and the Internet. I started looking for a mini keyboard/mouse to use with this and realized that there might be an issue using either Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz band devices (that aren't Bluetooth). The PC would have a WiFi NIC in it and something, either a Bluetooth adapter or other 2.4 GHz device, connected and used at the same time. How do people get around this issue other then utilizing 802.11n?

I am building a car PC out of an AMD E350 motherboard (link below...), which has mini PCIe & SO-DIMM slots as opposed to standard expansions & RAM. It is a simple, low power system, ideal for the application. I believe Win8 is the perfect platform for the application as well, since it works nicely with a touchscreen-oriented interface.

I bought a WiFi/bluetooth combo card off of eBay (link also below), but thus far, the WiFi isn't working. The BT works fine, but the wireless does not.

I verified that the driver is installed & working in Device Manager, but Windows does not give me the option to connect to a wireless network. In my Network Connections dialog, it only shows the wired LAN and the BT.

I am willing to accept the fact that the wireless driver is not compatible with Win8, but also wonder if it is a problem with the card?

A:Trouble with WiFi/Bluetooth card

*update*

Actually, I just double checked, and the driver is NOT installed for the Wi-Fi card. I was looking at the driver for the regular LAN controller. I was tricked because it is a MoBo integrated LAN controller, but the driver labels it as a Realtek PCIe.

I did download the driver exe from Realtek and I also tried the one from HP. Neither seems to load the WiFi functionality of this card.

Also, if it helps, the card is a Realtek branded for certain HP laptops.

i have been through about 3 wifi cards in the spand of 2 laptops looking for the best range and speed without the interference. i had a realtek dualband wifi card with bluetooth and i sold that to get a a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 expecting that this would be the top of the line in wifi standards. i mainly sold my realtek because a issue with buletooth, if im using the wifi and i connect my bluetooth headset to the laptop the sound would be choppy and laggy. so when i got my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 i was amazed that this "was" no longer the issue. i connected my HBS-900 and walked out my apartment and down the hall and the bluetooth was clean! but it seems that now perhaps driver change the bluetooth on my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 is also bad. i cant even step 2 feet away from my laptop without it cracking to hell, at 3 feet and not facing the laptop i disconnect. it was never like that before and i know its not my headset because when i connect it to my phone its flawless, and i connected another bluetooth adapter and tried and its fine. the issue is that when the wifi is on theirs too much interference and yes when i connect to a 5g network the issue is greatly reduced but for me 5g is mostly not a option. i was wondering if theirs a such thing as a shielded internal wifi? wouldn't think so... i would just love if i could use the bluetooth and the wifi flawlessly. i already for another reason plan to get a Alfa AC1200 external wifi adapter... Hey all,

I'm totally new to this forum and it seems to be pretty helpful in terms of question/answers.

I got a new Belkin F5D8001 N1 wireless pci card for my windows machine (xp SP2) because my suite does not support a wired setting. Since I have installed it my computer seems to blue screen to a stop error either upon loading windows or no more than 5 minutes into completing the start up, which leaves very little time for a software/firmware update.

I was wondering if anyone had encountered a similar problem and could share their solution with me.

I'm am somewhat computer saavy so if you could point me in the right direction I should be able to get any information you need. As for online capabilities I am able to surf on my mac notebook (cd burning capabilities) but my PC has no connection thus far (except for a random 5 minutes before it locks up).

Thanks in advance for any input.

Eric

*edit*

I have tried a full reinstall of the product, both software and hardware, and I have managed to receive a new stop code error, in addition to the previous one:

MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION

Hopefully this will help in diagnosing the problem

You say "Quick Question"??

So, first, i assume the crashes only occur when driver is installed? Not if hardware simply installed?

Next things to do
1. With NO driver installed but the card is there (so i assume no crash)
Let's see what windows reports here

Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32
Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
If yes, click on it, then Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy Paste into next post
2. Where did you get the driver you're currently using? Tell me the exact version number? Have you checked this is correct? and not wrong or older version number?

Hello Every once in a while, my Microsoft bluetooth mouse stops working. Then I check the bluetooth device in the Windows device manager and it is no longer there, as if my laptop didn't have bluetooth at all. The only work-arround is to reboot. Then it works for a while, can be days or sometimes maybe even weeks before it stops working again. I found this article https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/solutions/ht506394 which seems to describe my problem. Unfortunately, the proposed solution doesn't work as my driver is already up to date (20.100.0.4) Any idea?

Debating on going wireless or not: Have an Asus M4A87TD EVO that has RTL8111E PCIe Gigabit LAN controller featuring AI NET2. So Gigabit, Im thinking at least 100/1000. I am wire into my router which puts out high speed and low ping to wireless. Standard Ethernet cables supply the data pipeline, not sure what the transfer speed is on them, If anyone can let me know that would be great.
I have been eyeballing the super speed ethernet cables, but not sure if it would solve the ping issues I have with desktop, (being too high), and the cost for a 15' line.
Tried finding a wireless card that handles N+network and 5.0Ghz for my dual band.

1. What is the standard ethernet cable speed?
2. Can the standard ethernet cable from router to computer be causing high ping? (have second computer with 3' cable, same issue)
3. Would it be better to go wireless and forego the wired ethernet cable?
4. What wireless card would you recommend?

A:Network speed and ethernet cable questions with wifi card question

UGH

1- what kind of cable? cat 5, cat5 E, cat 6?

2-Yes if cheap, old, or not shielded.

3-Not if you are transfering large amounts of data on your internal LAN

4-An 802.11 "N" card

Hi, I have a XPS 13 9343 (i5/QHD) purchased refurbished from 3rd party, recently installed clean W10.
The Dell tool indicates to me that I should be installing:
9343_Network_Driver_WD22T_WN32_7.35.333.0_A03.EXE
Installing I get failure log at the bottom.
Via Device Manager as mentioned the WiFi adapter under Network is not there, scanning for hardware changes does not help.
I have tried manually installing inf files but I don't get any options under "Model" when I try to install it through legacy hardware.
I'm starting to think the Wifi/Bluetooth component is either faulty or entirely missing from the vendor (I have not opened it up and wouldn't know how to diagnose this myself).
I've attached a separate wifi dongle which works as does connecting to Ethernet via a USB adapter.
Any other ideas of what it could be? Thanks.

Hello,

I have recently bought a new pci wifi lan card (Ralink rt61 turbo) and have plugged in and installed drivers. Initially the drivers the company I bought it from told me to install didn't work, but after some googling found the correct drivers and downloaded from Ralinks website. However these didn't work either.

When using the Ralink wireless utility it says that the card is disconnected, however in device manage it is both connect and the correct drivers installed and everything is perfectly fine.

I ignored the wireless utility and hoped that windows 7 would still be able to use the wireless card as past experiences have shown to be true. This case however I get nothing. Windows 7 says that the wireless card is experiencing problems, it doesn't show any of the routers that should be shown.

I have been looking around a lot and there have been several drivers that should have worked and they haven't.

I would have thought that the antenna is broken or the card doesn't work however when I use it with ubuntu instead of windows 7 it works perfectly fine without any hassle, so the card is definitely working.

Any advice that anyone can give on how to resolve this would be very welcome.

Thanks

Aieden

I'm having a problem that's been on and off with my.wifi for a while. I have a Yoga 2 Pro and the WiFi card seems to disappear completely and I can't get it back without removing all the batteries and leaving it a while. It's not like it needs a driver update, it totally disappears as if it's not even installed and won't show up in any OS or even under the "rfkill list command". It appears to be completely failing. Thing is I've swapped it out and it seems to be some part of the operation that mounts it that isn't working. I notice that it installs into the power board and not the motherboard. Would swapping this fix it? Does anyone have any ideas?

Hey guys,

So, what i'm trying to do is create a wifi hotspot using my computer. In other words, turning my computer into a router. I'm wanting to do this so i can use my ipod at home instead of only when i'm around other wifi hotspots.

My computer is running off of a wired router, so that i can play online on my PS3 as well. I was told wifi doesn't work well with Ps3's normally so i just bought a wired router. So, the mainline internet cord is plugged into a wired router and then another line runs into my computer.

For some reason, after i make an adhoc connection, the computer is not sending the required information to the iPod so that it connects to the internet.

I've tried entering in the information into the Static tab in my ipod as well, and still only get Local Connection instead of Local and Internet.

This is what my connection looks like through the router using ipconfig /all:

Hi Cromsy,

Welcome to Vista Forums!

Unfortunately, it isn't as simple as that. You are connected to the router fine with your computer, but that tells us nothing about the ipod because wireless is off (but that's not the whole story either - you need something extra to do what you want). The following article should tell you what you need and how to do it: How to Connect iPod Touch to Windows 7 Ad-hoc Wireless Network. Although it says Windows 7, there are procedures for Vista as well (and the software will work with Vista).

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

I've tried downloading every possible drivers, updates, watching multiple solution tutorials etc. It seems like my PC doesn't support bluetooth/wifi after all. No. Why should it? Something else is going on, if you Internet speed went down. Most likely your WiFi card, which also does Bluetooth, is needing a little tweaking.

What is the manufacturer & model of the laptop, along with the wifi & bluetooth chipset info.

This happened to me since when I bought it 3years back. The service centre said me that its of software problem and they just re installed windows 8(3 years ago) and said it was fixed. It just survived for 3 -4 days and same problem. Then I asked the store for some help they didn't even. Then I upgraded to 8.1 both wifi and bluetooth worked for 3 days then upgraded to 10 same for 3 4 days.It sometimes worked after rebooting n times and sometimes not. Now it doesn't even work.Tried installing drivers for the same from hp but they are for win8 which didn't even worked when i was on win8.Main problem: Wifi and bluetooth both turns on but wifi doesn't connect to any of the network and my home's wifi network doesn't even show up in the list. Bluetooth turns on but doesn't discover any of the devices nearby nor any device can discover it.Please help thank you in advance.

Hi, I have been using this laptop since 2015. I have a very different and unfortunate issue. My laptop's wifi and bluetooth does not work properly together. I have purchased a bluetooth mouse, logitech m557. If I keep it connected with my laptop bluetooth, the wifi doesn't work, if I disconnect it, the wifi works but I lost the mouse connectivity. This was not the issue when I have not upgraded my bios to F82. It was completely working fine before this update. It took my 90 days and 3 ngff wifi+bluetooth modules to understand that it is not a hardware issue but a bios issue. Now, the biggest problem is I can't rollback to previous versions of BIOS, since nothing works with the WIN key + B key method. I tried HP UEFI diagnostics to rollback the bios, even that failed, it does not read the previous bios versions. Would anyone know how to solve this. P.S. At one point, I feel so disappointed with HP that I want to throw my laptop from the rooftop. I regret my purchase now, would have gone for Dell.

Hi, Your machine is not an HP Pavilion AB 15 031TX. I think it is an HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab031tx :      http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04934808 It came with  Windows 8.1 64 and you have not installed proper drivers for the combo wireless+BT card which is a Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 combination WLAN adapter.   Now please download and install the following drivers: 1. Wifi: Realtek RTL8723BE/RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Drivers     http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp73001-73500/sp73310.exe 2. Bluetooth:  Realtek RTL8723BE Bluetooth Driver     http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp73001-73500/sp73250.exe Regards.
