I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Wifi has been dropping out frequently since new in January - only used occasionally - the work round was to restart the machine.A few days ago I decided to tackle the issue and have just found out that a BIOS update was needed. The update was dated May 27, 2016.Hence (1) HP sold a computer that they knew was faulty in that the wifi did not work properly (2) when they released the BIOS update, they did not bother to communicate this.I'd appreciate a comment from HP plus a cheque for all the needless aggrovation they have cuased me.

I have tried evert trick in the book-   frustrating.

Hello there,

I was running win7x64 just before win10 came live and had no problem with it. I decided to upgrade to win10 within the first week of its release and noticed a bunch of problems from the first use. After continuous gaming, but at random moments (it was happening whether I was playing a game for 20 mins or 3 hours):

1. The Wifi connection on my laptop would turn to limited connectivity. The laptop would refuse connection to all the other wireless connections available as well. I was not able to fix it in anyway, apart from a restart.
2. The sound would also start crackling horribly at the same time.
3. One of the CPUs would go berserk (as shown in the picture).

I thought that the win10 is still buggy and decided to replace it this morning with a clean win7 reinstall. To my very great surprise, the problems persisted. I just booted up Cities Skyline and was in my first 5 minutes of playtime, when the game suddenly crashed and all the connectivity dropped. Had to restart.

How can I fix this? Please help, it was frustrating already, but now it's gotten even worse.

It just happened again when I simply plugged in my mouse? Is it because of the motherboard?

Hey guys,  I bought this Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 about a month ago, and have had no problems with it until about 3 days ago when the wifi internet got really slow and would cut out with in a minute or two of working. During this time, any time I open the notebook and connect to wifi all other devices in the house won't get internet. I've tried browsing through this forum, but the solutions that seemed to work for others have not worked for me. If anyone has experienced this or knows of a solution please let me know. Thank you!

Hello,  I have a Lenovo Yoga 720  15.6 inch with an intel core i7 7700HQ and Nvidia GTX 1050. I have tried playing minecraft on it recently as it is the first game I decided to download and when plugged in I maintain well above 70 fps at all times. However when I try to play the game with the laptop unplugged I am "capped" at 30 fps. Is there a reason for this? I am on windows high performance power option.I have also turned off Nvidia VSync and changed the Nvidia power options to maximum performance. Is this FPS cap something that can be turned off when unplugged or is this permanent for on the go gaming with this laptop?

I am using HP 840 G3 and I have connected my LG 29UM58 monitor using a HDMI to Displayport adapter because the ;laptop doesnt have an HDMI port. Funny thing is that if I connect monitor wifi starts dropping packets and performs very slow, once monitor is detached it works fine. I have seen other posts too on internet where people complain about simillar thing with laptops of different brands. The monitor doesnt have any wifi connection so its not a problem with interference, when I unplugged the displayport the monitor was still powred ON and performance became fine which again means its not related to any inteferance . Do you know what problem can this be?

Hi earlier this year I bought two identical Probook 450 G2 laptops running windows 7 to be used as pool devices and to replace our exsisting machines. Very quickly i was getting complaints from many users that there were issues with the wifi, both in the office and when using them on site. We do all our work in the cloud using Citrix, so reliable connectivity to the internet is essential to be able to work properly, our two older laptops Lenovo models have never displayed these issues and users just defer to these older machines. A little while ago I updated the drivers to the latest versions and thought this had resolved the problem but then again i recieved complaints that they were continously dropping their internet connection. Today I have done some ping comparrison testing with the results below;- HP72016Ping ?t 8.8.8.8Ethernet = Average ping time over 100 pings = 21ms with 0 packets droppedWIFI = Average ping time over 100 pings = 89ms with 14 packets dropped HP72017Ping ?t 8.8.8.8Ethernet = Average ping time over 100 pings = 22ms with 0 packets droppedWIFI = Average ping time over 100 pings = 86ms with 9 packets dropped Compared to the results from 3 tests on one of the Lenovo Laptops1st Ping ?t 8.8.8.8WIFI = Average ping time over 100 pings = 29ms with 4 packets dropped2nd Ping ?t 8.8.8.8WIFI = Average ping time over 100 pings = 26ms with 0 packets dropped3rd Ping ?t 8.8.8.8WIFI = Average ping time over... We have a few hundred 260's and 460's in our school district and we have been having chronic issues with them suddenly dropping all port functionality. We use them in tandem with the One Link Dock + and for seemingly no reason, all of the ports will cease functionality, loses LAN internet, drops smart board, and any other usb device that is plugged into itself or the dock. Interestingly we don't lose charging capability. We thought it may have been dock related but we then had it happen to someone that doesn't use a dock. This is driving us nuts as the teachers are halted by these tech issues. The only known way we can fix it is by restarting, we have not detected any pattern to it's cause. We have tried re-installing every usb driver, root hub, chipset, changed power saving options, replaced every single peripheral in the room that is used with the laptop, re-imaged, and still it continues to happen. If there is a known fix for this please share, thanks!

Hello, i have a problem with my ThinkPad. From to time occurs the failure of WiFi. The function "Wireless Radio" (Fn+F5) shows WiFi on but physicall diode does not light (together with disabled Windows icon). It does not help when i try to restart WiFi, to switch it off and on in "Wireless Radio" (Fn+F5) function. I found temporarily solution in restarting or sleeping down the computer. Now i streamlined this procedure with simple entering on "IProDifX.exe" (wireless adapter driver) so it is not necessary to sleep down the computrer, because in 15 seconds the WiFi connection is established and the diode lights again (together with active Windows icon). What is the cause of this?- I do not use any third party WiFi software, i have installed just Lenovo Access Connection but i do not use it.- Do you think that there can be some interaction with the router? But the router works fine (it is less than one year old).- I also thought about IPv6 issue. So i tested the internet on IPv4 i.e. i disabled IPv6 in the router settings.- I also disabled the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" on wireless adapter Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6200 AGN settings.- I have Intel v13.0.0.107 (15-Sep-2009) driver for the Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6200 AGN wireless adapter. But now i see there is the latest one PROSet version 18.40.4 (Driver version 15.17.0.1), so i will try to update. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27025/Wireless-Intel... Read more

What do I need to do to fix this problem? I really want to start back gaming on my pc but the random wifi drops really ruin my experience.

Also I may have a DNS server problem? My wifi is working fine on my gaming consoles, phones, and my mom's laptop.

A:wifi signal drop after installing windows updates?

One thing you can try is start from a fresh install and disable automatic updates, then install your wifi drivers.

Next manually check for updates and see if windows offers a driver for your wireless adapter. If it is does then I would assume that to be cause and I would open Devices & Printers, right click the computer icon, select Device installation setting, select No let me choose what to do and select either the 2nd or 3rd option. I recommend the 3rd, Never install driver... Continue to install the rest of the updates.

If it doesn't offer a driver or the issue still exist after updating then starting fresh again install 3 or 4 updates at a time and check your signal after each update until you find the one that causes the issue. This will narrow it down to 3 or 4 updates then you can uninstall the last 3 or 4 and if your issue goes away then reinstall them one at time till you have the one or more that cause the issue. If the issue doesn't goes away after uninstalling them then you will need to start fresh again.

Not really my area but as no one else has replied thats the best advice I could give. Let us know how it goes.

This has occurred since day 1, and I first assumed it was win 7 that was the issue but it occurs in win 10 also.  Unfortunately the warranty was up over a year ago.
After power up or cycling the WIFI connection via windows, I have a connect speed of 72 mbits.  This will last for some time like a day or two and then it starts dropping (I think, I have seen medium speeds) and ends up at around 5.5 mbits.  This issue has occurred with three different wireless routers.
Now, my old Vostro 1500 is still chunking away at 72 mbits per second with no issues (XP and Linux) and my daughter's equipment stays connected at 72 when she is over.
I have been through the dropping threads, but what changes I have made do not affect my issue.
I3-4030U and Broadcom 1704.

Any suggestions or do I just have a bad system that should have been fixed three years ago?

Hi, my ~2 year old battery's full capacity in a Lenovo Yoga 510-14IKB has been dropped from 52500mWh to below 22000mWh by the time I noticed it yesterday. In less than 24 hours since I noticed this it lost another ~2%! Other than the ridiculous capacity it works fine, I can't observe rapid discharge, sudden drops, or insufficient recharge. That's why it wasn't obvious to notice this. What can I do? In BIOS, or anywhere else? I couldn't find any process for e.g. calibration in Lenovo Vantage (like it was written in previous posts related to its predecessor the Onekey Optimizer). I have a Gateway NV59 laptop. My wife and I have separate laptops and we both connect to the home Vodafone HG553 modem, via wireless. I moved in recently, so my laptop is the new device.

Whenever I try to connect to the WIFI modem, the modem's red light starts blinking and I somehow make my wife's laptop disconnect as well. She has no problem connecting. It is only when I try to connect with my laptop.

Sometimes the red blinking light stops and I get connection (after 5-10 minutes). But, connection will go back and forth, dropping connection, connecting, connecting with no internet access.
I updated my adapter drivers.
Any help will be appreciated,

I don't know if my adapter is bad, or if it's a Windows 10 update causing this, but the internet just disconnects after a few seconds, I then troubleshoot it, it resets and is good for like 30 seconds before it just disconnects again. This is a NEW install of Windows 10 ruling out software problems. All other devices on my network work fine ruling out router problems.I have installed latest Realtek driver.I have tried to change the settings for the adapter such as power ect. This was working fine on Windows 10 for the last year or longer.Should I try going back to Windows 8.1? Anyone have a link to buy a replacement Wifi module?

The WIFI speed on my laptop is so slow.  Other devices connected to same WIFI are at 100mbps. The speedtest (speedtest.com) that i just performed gave a reading of 5.53 Mbps download speed and 0.14 upload speed.  I work from home and I'm about to lose my mind.  I can't get anything done because my internet based apps are hanging.   I read on another forum about the Yoga 920 doing this.  Some of the solutions were to download a driver for the 910.  I wasn't sure if this would solve my issue since I have the 910.  I also couldn't figure out where to go to find out which driver I have installed.  I loved my Yoga when I first bought it.  Now that I've been searching this forum for answers to my issue I'm seeing that a lot of other people are having issues with theirs.  Making me lose confidence in this product.

I'm having very inconsistent wifi performance on my Yoga 910. This has the Qualcomm Aetheros network adapter. I already installed the latest drivers from lenovo site. I also adjusted the power settings for maximum performance on both plugged in and battery. I have full signal... I'm maybe 15 feet away from my router. My phone is getting nearly 100Mb/s and my expensive new laptop is struggling to hit 2Mb/s right now. I've searched and tried any and all fixes. It seems that a restart will usually get the speed back up, but only temporarily. I check resources and don't see any process or service using the wifi, yet the speed tanks like crazy. As an example, I was barely able to hit 2Mb, restarted and now its hitting 150Mb every time. After about 5 minutes, speeds are back down to 2-5Mb tops. What's going on here? -- Ed

A:Yoga 910 wifi issue

I'm experiencing WLAN performance issues as well. See the issues section in my review of the 910.

Are you also seeing WHEA-logger errors being reported in the Event Viewer? Does it help if you connect using the 2.4GHz band instead of the 5GHz band?

There's clearly something wrong, but whether it's really the hardware or the driver software is difficult to tell at this point. I've put a service call into Lenovo. I'll see what that brings.

Let me start by saying I've tried everything that everyone has recommended to fix this issue. I can hardly ever connect to my router, when it does it says no internet connection. It will only connect when I'm right next to the router, and even then the speeds are miniscule, 2-5 Mbps when I get over 200 Mbps with my Galaxy S7 in the same place. The issue occurs on 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. It also occurs on other WiFi networks and while using my phone's mobile hotspot. Drivers are up to date.Wifi card is set to not turn off in Device Manager.Network card is set to max performance in Power settings.I have tried a factory reset of Windows 10.I have tried changing the channel on my router's 2.4 GHz band.I have checked the wifi card itself, as well as the antennas by a shop. They said the antennas look fine and are connected.I have uninstalled literally all bloatware that was on the device from factory.I have tried everything except replacing the WiFi card itself. The wifi card is Qualcomm Atheros QCNFA34AC. I'm not sure when it started but it has been happening for a while, I don't use my laptop that frequently. It could have happened after upgrading to Windows 10 from 8.1. In the mean time I have been using an ASUS Wifi USB adapter that works flawlessly, gets 100+ Mbps from the other side of my apartment from the router.

Hi I'm experiencing troubles with the WiFi on my new Yoga 500-15IBD laptop. I tried to find a solution throughout this forum (and the rest of the internet....), but so far I couldn't find anything that directly relates to my problem (or solves it). The problem is as follows:Basically the WiFi is quite unstable. Every once in a while it just looses the connection, despite being directly next to the router. It then says "limited connection" and the only way to make it work again is to either reboot, or click "troubleshooting" on the WiFi symbol, which then basically resets the adapter. I already tried to solve the issue by applying all Windows 10 updates, and by trying to install a new driver (this worked previously for my ThinkPad Yoga 2, which had similar problems at the beginning). So far, no success. The curious thing about the driver is, that when I go to the lenovo support page and let the website determine what kind of laptop I have, to automatically show me all available drivers, it shows me drivers for a WiFi adapter that I don't have... It successfully determines that my Yoga 500 is a 15IBD, but the drivers that it shows me for download are either for an Intel WLan adapter, or for a CyberTan/Liteon. But I have a Broadcom 802.11ac device installed. Why is that? Shouldn't lenovo know what they built in? I also tried to disallow Windows from shutting down the WiFi adapter to save power, but this didn't work either. In addition, I also tried ... Read more

A:Yoga-500 WiFi Troubles

Hi Manuel, and welcome to the forum.

Apparently, the LiteOn driver is intended for Broadcom WLAN hardware. It's now been renamed to Broadcom to make it clearer to everybody. Try installing that driver and let us know how you get on.

I have to reboot the modem (TP LINK Archer D7) which usually lasts another 2-15mins before drops out again. I've tried updating laptop drivers and modem firmware but no luck. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix?Tim

Won't show available wifi.  Windows diagnostic test says Qualcomm Atheros adapter experiencing driver or hardware problem.  So how can I connect this laptop to internet using a USB port only? Yes I'm pretty low tech person in rural part of country.  Adapters are in short supply:-) Thanks!

My yoga will connect to my wifi network only once. I then need to reboot my wifi router. No other devices in the house have this problem and the network is always still active. I get two messages and not sure why I get one and not the other. The messages basically say either network not available (but it is) or that something has changes and it asks for the network password but then wont connect either. My network adapter is Realtek RTL8723AU. I have made sure all drivers are up to date, tried changing power saving options so they dont turn off adapter.  Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Hello all, Heres a little guide I am making to assist others who have the same issue as me where the WiFi on your Yoga is ubearably slow. For my example I will be using a Yoga 730 "15. I reccomend you follow all these steps before opening your laptop or cracking open the wallet at your nearest Geek Squad and turning your most likely software problem into a "hardware" problem. This method should work for all 700 series laptops and other lenovo products as these setting are purely based off of Vantage and built in windows software.  What you will need:Ethnernet connection and USB-C or USB ethnernet dongle.Ethnernet cableInternet connectionLenovo VantagePower supply/ChargerMethod 1: Lenovo VantageThis method is about updating your BIOS to the latest revision. This can brick your laptop if you don't follow the warning provided by Insyde Bios utility. Open Lenovo Vantage from the start menu by typing "vantage" and hit enter. You will need an ethernet connection for this part as vantage will not start without proper connection. Once inside click on system updateFrom there click on check for updatesIf you have never updated your BIOS before you should see that it found an updateClick on the install button and let vantage download the Insyde Flash Utility, it will open automatically.Make sure you are plugged in, read the warnings provided, not following these will cause the software to possibly turn your laptop into a dead paperweight.Do as the software tells you t... A:Slow WiFi On Your Yoga 7XX? FIX!!

I will leave this post up, as it can be very useful to others facing this issue. However on my end the fix was using system restore, I believe it was a VMWare update or the other restore point called DirectNet. Im gonna do research on it, as I have no clue what it is. Thanks for reading my post hopefully it's not as pointless as it was to my own self.  DirectNet is a FTP solution that mounts FTP servers as drives, not the issue. If you don't want to do a restore and have VM Ware uninstall it or switch to an older version.

I am using a lenovo yoga 14. When I connect to my wifi network at home the internet often randomly turns off. It doesn't only disconnect my laptop, it kicks all of the other devices off the network as well. I have no viruses and the laptop seemed to be doing this from when I originally got it. I updated my drivers for the wifi and have tried various other fixes but nothing seems to work. Hi all, As with many I am experiencing severe Wifi issues with new Yoga 11s. I will try to explain in detail in the hope that someone who better understands how wifi really works might be able to help diagnose. I have a Talktalk badged Huawei HG533 router. This delivers c.15Mbs reliably all around my house (2xTVs, computers up and downstairs, 2xphones). Using Speedtest.net to capture speeds. With the Yoga, if I sit right next to the router (as I am now), I get 15Mbs. In other parts of the house I get just 0.5Mb, including rooms where other devices are measured at 15. I have updated drivers and upgraded to W8.1 though I experienced exactly the same problem before the upgrade. I have tested every room and it seems that it will either work at very close to the maximum (in a few rooms) or drops off catastrophically to 0.5mb or less. There is no in between. I never lose connection altogether. There seems no correalation between the level of signal displayed (4 or 5 bars) and the speed. The 'good' rooms are separated by fewer walls. I have also observed that on occasion having tested in a good room and then moving to one of the bad rooms it initially shows good performance, before seemingly recognising where it is and throttling back to unusable. It is as though once it gets to a certain distance/separation/signal strength it somehow 'jams' the signal. I really neeed to find a solution to this as 1. my office is one of the bad rooms and 2. I am oft... Read more

A:Yoga 11S WiFi issues

I notice that 80 people have viewed my previous post but no one yet replied . Thought I'd give an update to see whether anyone else experienced similar problems. So - machine still behaving as before (good or bad, nothing between) so I bought a USB wi-fi adapter because I needed to get connection in my office. I got exactly the same issues! .  Sitting in my office - old laptop (shortly to return to ex employer) running along nicely at 15Mbps - new Yoga, with TP-Link adapter in (and on-board RealTek disabled) crawling at 0.3Mbs 2 feet away. Could it be some on-board interference coming from Yoga itself (that takes over at a certain level of signal)? Could it be something to do with W8? I am at a complete loss and would really welcome any feedback or suggestions from other forum members. Many thanks

A:Re: Yoga 2 Pro Wifi Problems

Ok, so I see that the earlier Yoga had problems with Wifi, and I'm wondering if this is the same problem I have with my Yoga 2 Pro. If the wifi signal is at all weak, it just seems to drop out. This is a huge headache and might be grounds for returning the machine, which I have already fallen deeply in love with. Is there a fix? Is this just me or is this an issue across the board?
