I can't acces my HOTMAIL account- Hotmail Tech Support?

Q: I can't acces my HOTMAIL account- Hotmail Tech Support?

I can’t access my HOTMAIL accounts- HOTMAIL support?

I learned about Microsoft’s new policy of not allowing you to send email from Hotmail using it’s own products Outlook and Outlook Express unless you are paying an additional fee, when I replied to a (Hotmail) email while using OE. After sending my reply I received an error message that OE could not access the account. It then proceeded to DELETE all my previous email message in outlook express for this account.

A web search then led me discover that this account was one of those now requiring payment of a fee to send mail using Outlook or OE instead of logging on to the website. (They are doing this in stages so some HOTMAIL accounts still allow the free use and access with Outlook/OE.)

I then tried to sign on to my account using another Microsoft product Internet Explorer- initially everything looked unchanged,

1. however after typing in my name and password instead of opening my account

2. I got a new screen of “scrambled letters” designed to prove that a person and not a machine is accessing my account.

3. I type in these scrambled letters and one of two things happens:

a. (Usually) I receive yet another screen of scrambled letters to input

b. (Occasionally) I receive the “sign in screen” again EITHER WAY

4. Whichever screen I receive- whether I input scrambled letters yet again or insert my name and password the process repeats itself and one of two things happens:

a. (Usually) I receive yet another screen of scrambled letters to input

b. (Occasionally) I receive the “sign in screen” again

5. It does not seem to matter how many times I repeat these steps I’m stuck in a loop with these same two screens.

6. HOTMAIL seems to think I am signed in but I can’t access my account.

7. If I leave hotmail and come back and try to sign in on my OLDER HOTMAIL account which is not yet affected- I am informed that I am already signed in as another user (the NEWER Account that I’m trying to access).but they still won’t let me access that account.

I could not find any support area for Hotmail – and while I did send an email about my problem to the report SPAM address that I could find- Hotmail has not replied or responded for over 2 weeks.

Incidentally Hotmail has just sent out a mass mailing email which states in part:

Recently, Hotmail® announced that in order to improve customer experience and reduce spam and junk e-mail abuse on MSN® services, Hotmail will no longer allow new e-mail accounts to be accessed via Microsoft® Office Outlook® and Outlook Express.
We are pleased to inform you that because you are an existing and valued customer, at this time your current Hotmail and MSN account(s) are exempt from this restriction and you will be able to continue enjoying access to those accounts from Outlook or Outlook Express. However, any new Hotmail or MSN accounts you create will not be accessible via Outlook or Outlook Express.

Great so they’ve changed their policy for OLD accounts – and my older account is more than 5 years old so it’s certainly grandfathered in – HOWEVER the NEWER account I still can’t access through OE is more than a year old and certainly should be exempt for this restriction as well.

MY QUESTIONS ARE:

1. How can I access my Hotmail account?

2. Is there any way to access my old emails that had been displayed via Outlook Express?

3. Does HOTMAIL have any Tech Support? Where? How do you contact them?

4. At this point I’d be happy to close the account if I could have access to all my old emails and contacts so that I notify people of my new address.

Preferred Solution: I can't acces my HOTMAIL account- Hotmail Tech Support?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: I can't acces my HOTMAIL account- Hotmail Tech Support?

I've never used Outlook or Outlook Express in any form my self, so I can only offer some limited suggestions for sorting this out.

First: have you tried deleting all cookies and accessing the account? If using XP/2k -- it may even be helpful to try creating a new User Profile and logging in under that, this will ensure you have an entirely new web cache, index.dat and cookie folder.

Try accessing the account from another computer and see if you get in that way.

Hi,
I'm writing this on behalf of my wife.

She's tried to login to her Hotmail account today (for the first time in over a month).

As soon as she types in her password she gets the message (something along the lines of) "Can't be overprotective" . . . enter a code. Don't have a code . . . get one here" etc. Also, on this screen, the email address being shown is one character different from her actual email address i.e. her actual email address is [email protected] and the one that's being displayed is [email protected]
Tried to get a code by asking it to be sent to my (alternate) email address and typed this in.
Then got taken to a screen that wanted the profile to be edited and the password changed.

Basically, the very last step stated that all details for [email protected] would be deleted after 30 days (so I clicked 'don't update'!
There is no way to actually get in touch with a Microsoft person for personal support because it requires you to be logged in to raise a private support request . . and of course, she can't login!!

I've tried raising a temporary email address ([email protected]), just so I can get in touch with a Microsoft person and it has created an account but then I'm faced with question about configuring this account and whether I want to 'bring in emails' from other accounts.

All we want to do is to enable her to get into the email account that she'... Read more

A:Can't login to Hotmail account - can't get support!

Further info . . . . .

On the webpage that asks where it should send the 'code' it displays the incorrect email address (as above) and so I choose 'I don't have these anymore'. It then takes me to another screen which states . . .

"To replace all your security info, you need to do two things now:
Add a new email address or phone number. We'll send you a security code immediately to make sure it works.
Schedule your old security info for deletion.
Your old security info will be deleted and the new info will replace it in 30 days. You can still use your account as usual during the 30-day waiting period. This waiting period makes it harder for a hacker to get in to your account with just a stolen password."

If I continue to follow the instructions, receive a 'code' it then confirms that the email address (not the 'old security information') will be deleted.

This is so frustrating.

My wife needs to retain her original email address @hotmail.com because all of her family, friends and business contacts use this address.

It is taking up to 2 days and occassionally there is a mail failure. Hotmail sends me messages that the mail is being delayed and not to resend, but the recipient never receives it. My E-mail address is not blocked. When I send via internet, all is well. I have no other problems sending or recieivng to others.

I'm not completely sure what you're asking - do you want to not show who sent it, or do you want to hide who you're sending it to?

If you just dont want the other users to see who else you sent it to, you should fill in the addressee's in the BCC field (BCC = Blind Carbon Copy). In the new "Live" hotmail, when you go to compose a new message, at the top-right there is a link that says "show CC and BCC" - if you click on this, you will get the BCC field which you can then put the email addresses into.

I hope this answered your question.

I am running Windows XP Professional 2002 and Microsoft Office 2003 (Outlook 2003)

I was using the older version of Outlook Connector to access my Hotmail account, but recently it said that I needed to upgrade it. The automatic upgrade did not work properly, so I manually removed/un-installed the old Outlook Connector, removed the hotmail account within Outlook, and I also removed a bunch of hotmail.ost files hanging around that seemed to have no data in them (in C:\Documents and Settings\Default\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook) - I believe they were formed when I was going through all the problems with the supposedly automatic upgrade).

Then I manually downloaded and installed the newest version 14.1 for 32-bit and through the Outlook connector interface within Outlook, re-added the Hotmail account. But now when I try to click on any Hotmail folder, the following error message appears:
"Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook could not access the specified folder location."

So I feel like I am back at square one and not sure how to get the Connector to start connecting. Thanks for any advice.

Amazingly, I finally found the answer in another forum, of course only after I went to the trouble of making my earlier posting.

SETTING THE HOTMAIL ACCOUNT AS THE DEFAULT EMAIL ACCOUNT solves the accessing problem. I hope this can help some other poor souls out there!

I know some people have multiple hotmail accounts that they want to sync up with Outlook, and have no idea what to do in that case, but if you only have one account, this seems to work.

Hello @Dtavarez2 Welcome to the HP Support forum. Probably, it's not wi-fi, it's the Internet - I mean login works only if connected to the Internet. From what I understand you use Microsoft account [email account] - not local Windows account ? Correct ? By default Windows does not connect to wireless connections prior to login if not prior establishmenet has been made re. this. However, if you had a wired connection with cable, that wouldn't have been a problem. However, your PC model does not have Ethernet/LAN adapter. Here is the official post >> http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/I-forgot-my-password-can-HP-help... about such issues with forgotten/unknown password or not working password. Please, read it and check if it will help. If nothing works, you can consider PC reimage (Windows restore to factory default condition) or use your favourite search engine and look the Internet for options for password reset of Windows 10 account. Such options (the second one) is not officially supported as per security practise (user [PC owner] cannot be verified - for example the PC got stolen or user is not authorized to login).  Let me know how it goes.

Hey there,
I've tried every method I could think of to contact a microsoft rep. and this is pretty much my last resort.

I set a rediculous password a while back, and hadn't realised I'd forgotten it as I just auto logged in on my desktop every time. Of course someone came along and decided to log in to their account, and now I'm locked out.

None of the methods supplied by hotmail support are functioning (either a 500 internal server error or just a plain 'ol "error".)

Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Mark.

A:Can't delete Hotmail or Yahoo mail and can't open Hotmail

Hi
Lots of people have problems with Yahoo and Hotmail accounts. The most common causes seem to be cookie rejection, incorrect firewall settings, and/or an overly aggressive and intrusive firewall like ZoneAlarm that does a lot of things without asking.

Are you able to access the email accounts from a computer at another location? (other house, library, etc.)

Did you recently change any settings in a program or install a new program or a new version of or update for one, especially some security program (firewall, antivirus, etc.)?

Do you have a router?

Is your trash folder overfull?

Hi everyone

I tried to use Outlook 2002 to access my hotmail. I used the POP3 settings, got it to work, and hit send/receive. Now none of my emails from my Inbox are in my hotmail account when I use my web login. Why did it do this and how do I reverse it? I tried to find some answers on the Microsoft site but they give pretty generic answers there. The answers I've got here in the past were much better.

Thanks in advance,

Follow these steps to close your account: 1. Visit http://mail.live.com/mail/CloseAccountConfirmation.aspx 2. Sign in using your Windows Live Hotmail account and password. 3. Click "Close account" button. This will only close the e-mail service, the Windows Live ID that is associated with your account will remain active and will be deleted after 365 days of inactivity. If you would like to access any of our Windows Live ID services, please use a different account. From Account Closure - Hotmail AccountAfter closing the account, you can create another hotmail account HERE. Scroll down the page. On the right hand-side, look for Hotmail. You will be able to sign up for a new account. Now that I've gone through all that, are you using Windows Live Mail client or are you checking mail on the web? If you use WLM, someone may be able to help you resolve the isssue if you post details about it.

Hi all

Has anybody else been locked out of their Hotmail account lately?

I have been locked out since Friday May 17th.

At first I could not get Hotmail to recognise even my account name. When it finally did, it would not accept my secret answer and redirected me to msn support.

msn support now tll me there is no such account, even though there is still a secret question logged against it and email sent to it dos not return undelivered.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I foresee a huge security blunder on the horizon. Possible scenarios include a distributed denial of service or mass email virus dissemination through 'disappeared' Hotmail accounts.

I'd appreciate knowing if mine is trhe only one.

Couldn't find an area for a question about Hotmail ?? I Googled Hotmail Forum it brought me here to this site - registered so here is my query:

I have begun placing my CONTACTS into Categories like Family, Family O/S ( Over/Seas) Friends, Friends O/S, Business, Business O/S etc etc.
I have done that by ticking the "OBVIOUS" contacts boxes in my long contact list and transfering them to the appropriate Category.
However with about 290 contacts to place I keep going through the list, wondering if I placed them to the appropriate category.
Of course to check I have to close out of the main contact list, then go another list to check if I put them where I think they should be ( Some need to be included in a couple of Categories )
Is there some way that I can show - on my MAIN CONTACT LIST that I have placed them somewhere?
Like an indication mark ?
That then would then allow me, as I go through the list in Alphabetical order to see those Contacts that still have somewhere to be placed..Regards Don

Has anyone got any idea if hotmail accounts r deleted. About 12-14 months ago i suddenly couldent sign into my msn account. The password wasnt accepted and my secret question appeared to have changed. I opened another account but im now wondering if somehow I could manage to get the account i couldent sign into working again even though I havent signed into it for ages.
The reason I want back into the account is that it had an account number for a program I bought. Now i need the program again, and I dont wanna buy it again if i can somehow manage to sign into this account again.

I hope somebody can help me. I'm not sure where to turn. I had a hotmail account with all my contacts. This Saturday one of my horses is running in the Kentucky Derby and I had a picture of the horse I sent out in a mass mailing to all my contacts.

Hotmail closed my account and will not let me back into it. It is now my understanding that you can't send such mailings or they will stop the service for you.

Is there any way I can appeal to them to get at least my contacts? I don't know who to write or contact to request this. I would certainly hope that someone has had this problem and can tell me how I can at least get my contacts.

Thanks for any and all help.

Sincerely,

David Smith

My son has a hotmail account. My husband and I both email him from our respective mchsi accounts regularly. I found out the other day that my son receives my husband's emails, but not mine. I asked my son if he has me blocked...he checked and said I wasn't. What else could be causing this problem? He does receive my emails if I send them from my aol account.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

I would like to know how to unlock my hotmail email account.

I set up my hotmail email account some time ago and did not have any other email accounts at the time. I am also unable to remember whether or not I set up a secret question and/or answer. Therefore I am unable to reset my password using the "forgot password" option.

Can you help me to unlock my hotmail email account?

Ever since new years eve I have been unable to log onto my hotmail account. It keeps asking me to re-enter my password. does anyone know why that might be???? Thank you
mario

A:not able to log onto hotmail account

did hotmail state this on your login failure?>>

Type your .NET Passport sign-in e-mail address and password correctly. Remember, passwords are case-sensitive.

Hotmail is pretty vague as to the failure for the sign in mainly due to the server registering either one as an error.

if u are certain that your password is correct then the e-mail address u keyed in might be incorrect and vice versa.

maybe try creating a new password?? (as suggested if u can't remember it by Hotmail)

Click the Forgot Password link and follow instruction.
You will be asked a security question.
If you gave at signing up a alternative email address it will ask for it.
Normally its quite straightforward

Could you explain The account policies that govern your use of Hotmail are detailed in our Online Help. Please note that you must sign into your Hotmail account at least once every 30 days. If you do not, your account will become inactive. After being inactive for 90 days, it will be deleted. You may want to save this message so you always have a handy link to this important information.
Example if I have a Hotmail address [email protected] and I do not sign in Hotmail account explain if I do not my account will become inactive. After being inactive for 90 days, it will be deleted so I will not beable to get my [email protected] back again

A:Hotmail account ?

sportman10,

From Hotmail Help page - Close Account:
If you don't sign in for 30 days (or within the first 10 days), your account will become inactive. At that time, any messages in your account will be deleted and inbound e-mail will be refused. Your Passport will still function, and your Hotmail e-mail name will be reserved. If your account stays inactive for a further 90 days, it is permanently deleted, and your e-mail name is no longer reserved. Click to expand...

I access my 3 hotmail account via Outlook express. I was having trouble sending emails from one account, they were being returned. I found out what the problem was thru this forum.

http://forums.techguy.org/t183016&highlight=hotmail+charging+pop3.html

OK, so I signed up for Hotmail Plus, and registered with one of my hotmail email address's. How do I add my other two hotmail address's to the hotmail plus account? Seem's to me, only one hotmail account is going to work with OE right now, until I let MSN know the other 2 hotmail accounts.

Any solutions?

Thanks

A:Hotmail plus account.

I just got off a live chat with someone at MSN. You only get to use one free Hotmail account with each Hotmail Plus account. So, for those of you with multiple hotmail accounts using OE, its back to the drawing board.

Hello

I have a hotmail.com account which is fine.
I also have Outlook Express and can receive mail in Outlook Express from my hotmail account with no problems.

I have just created a hotmail.com account for my friend.
I can receive mail from this new account to my own hotmail account but I am having problems receiving e-mail from this account to my Outlook Express.

NB. It is my friends hotmail address that I want to be able to receive messages from. I can receive them fine from my own hotmail account.

Can anyone please offer any advice.

Thank you Cinders

A:hotmail.com account

If your friend is using the free hotmail service, then you cannot access the account with an editor such as Outlook Express. You can only access Hotmail externally if the account is a paid option.

Hi,

I'm have trouble logging into my Hotmail account, though others using the same computer can log into their accounts without any difficulty.

When I try, this is what I get in the address line:

http://www.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/sbox?did=1&t=5hWtcDIedBJzGne2nJxmvZ0MzfW1BTcdEcvoe2Soo2tEr3lj*M9Y7T!LdDv4cRGnwW1tETLV9uNlCcINlt86PghA$$&p=5ZStEf5PpBvwhQwo1k08Vdtz22JRVolzcIWFa2i09YPdEtslG4fvkB8mPs3Wfe8PHe19m8W9ClTSyQFlgdP3qgJybr2Wws5A33FSMuQW8KRIOpoleRJzsWSpw65pJ8NQfQMALl4ABU4vjhC2SXZdcZWqVQm6fF4c9qXVyZSKLREEqVVOJMZTCK*gdptrYvv3H9

and this is the message on the screen:

The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

When I try to log in via My MSN, I can view the subjects of the first several e-mails, but can't access them.

When I try to sign in with another of my Hotmail accounts, it says I am already signed in with the one that I can't get into.

I'd really appreciate some advice...

Thanks much,

Andrea

A:Can't log into Hotmail account, but others can from same PC

Hi,

I've seen similar problems with Hotmail and Yahoo acounts. I think the volume on these "free" accounts is SO HIGH.......that it fills to capacity as far as availability. My advice would be to try again at different times. This problem makes these accounts very unpredictable and somewhat unreliable because of the availability issue.

I had an @hotmail.co.uk email address.

I created a new @outlook.com as I had too much spam.

I can't log back into the @hotmail.co.uk email addresss as I wanted to close it and I've tried the forgot password method but still had no success.

My question is what happens if I leave the email address for example not attempt to login to the account for a long period of time, will it automatically be deleted?

A:Hotmail.co.uk account?

The account should get canceled after 270 days of inactivity.

If the Microsoft branded services are canceled due to your failure to sign in, your data may be permanently deleted from our servers.

My email address ends in @Hotmail.com.I receive emails with no problems, when I compose a new email or forward
on emails, more times than not I get the error message "Can`t connect to Outlook please try later"with a CLOSE button.
When I click CLOSE the message is "You are about to throw away these messages without sending them".The only option
then is CONTINUE.The messages always show in the "sent" folder, some get to the receipient and some don`t.
Any idea whats going on?
Regards.

A:Hotmail account

Are you logging into the account by way of web browser or by the new Mail app? For older WLM and Hotmail as well as Live accounts you would want the Windows Essentials 2012 over the new Mail app.

Logging in directly online you would add the destination is as a new contact if not already in your address book there so the emails being sent will go through. I find that every time I go to send an email out to a new contact and forget to add the address in first as a new contact the draft will be saved. I see that with both the old Live accounts as well as at times with the accounts at outlook.com
