I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi

You could use the Battery Pack Li-Ion, 9 Cell, 6000mAh part number: PA3537U-1BRS

I found this on the Toshiba European Options & Accessories page.

If you would google for this part number you should find some online offers.

Hi,

I would like to know how I can replace my PC (Satellite Z830-10T) in Japan.

Two years ago I bought the PC in UK and now I'm living in Japan.
The battery of the PC is now running out and not recharged any more, so I think I need to replace the battery.
Then, I asked to Toshiba support in Japan to replace the battery but they declined my offer, because they deal with only products sold in Japan.

Could anyone tell me how I can replace the battery of my PC in Japan?
Do I send the Customer Center in UK? If so, what is the address? How does it cost?
Or, it might be necessary to think to replace the battery by myself. In that case, could anyone tell me what the battery product number is?

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,
Yuki

A:Satellite Z830-10T - Battery Replacement

It is not easy to give you a good advice what you can do. Problem is that your notebook must be disassembled and this should be done by authorized personal only.

Maybe you can order battery from UK and ask ASP in Japan to exchange it. It should not be problematic. I can just imagine that they have problem to order original parts.

Try to order it in UK or maybe you have someone who can do this for you and send it to you.

Hello to all,

Is there any battery replacement (compatible maybe?) with higher capacity (>2100mAh) for the satellite nb10t-a-103 laptop? the original battery works only for 2 hours.

Unfortunately I found only one compatible battery for your notebook model and it is battery with part number PA5170U-1BRS.

To be honest 2 hours on battery power supply is not so bad. If you want to use it a bit longer change power profile and advanced power settings.

I bought my laptop about three years ago in Germany. The battery has died (laptop switches immediately off if it is not plugged) and I am looking to replace the battery. I am based in Morocco for professional reasons and unfortunately there is no real Toshiba service here. I have searched online for replacement batteries but can't find any Satellite batteries. Someone wrote on a forum that all Portege Z930 batteries were compatible with Satellite Z930 but the computer expert i am working with thinks i should contact Toshiba first. I have looked for a telephone number but couldn't find any and that virtual Yoko couldn't really get my question either.

Does anyone know if a Porteg? Z930 battery would fit in my Satellite?

Ordering the battery from a Moroccan supplier would be very expensive as the VAT on computer appliances is really high. I am looking to order it in Germany and having a friend bring it to me at the end of the month.

Thank you so much for your help!! i am really trying to live sustainably and wouldn't want to have to buy a new computer since this one has been working just fine!!

I have a Toshiba Satellite L875D-S7332. I need a replacement battery but I don not want to buy a brand new one from Toshiba that costs $116. I've seen various replacements that advertise the same stuff for cheaper. One that claims is this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1Y10PC3668 but the voltage on that one is different from my laptop battery (10.8v). They claim it will work. Any opinions on the matter? Cheaper and functionally sound is what I'm looking for.

A:Solved: Toshiba Satellite replacement battery

Toshiba Satellite L875D-S7332 (PSKFQU-008003)

Its detailed specifications indicate it came with a battery with these specs:
6-Cell, 67Wh, Lithium-Ion, Part #PA5025U-1BRS

According to the "Specifications" information for the battery you selected, that part number is listed, so it should be okay.

It's rated at 11.1 volts instead of 10.8 volts, but that should be okay.

Can anyone advise if the PA3817U-1BRS can be substituted and if not, why not?
I have tested the individual batteries in the pack and they all show a voltage of 4.2 volts each. Could there be a fault in Toshiba's battery circuitry?

Hi,

My friends laptop - an S300-120 - has been having some problems.

I've replaced a few parts on it before, notably a cracked screen with no problems.

However, it started to refuse to boot saying 'CMOS Battery Failure, Press F1 to enter setup'. Of course you would do this, set the date and time, save & restart only to get the same message. We replaced the CMOS battery with one with the same serial number and now the laptop will not start.

It does one of two things.

It either a) appears to turn on, spins up the disk & CD drive, cooling fan goes to 100%, then flashes the POWER ON led once green then twice orange, at 1/2 second intervals, with no response from LCD or keyboard.

Or b) turns on, spins up disk, does not spin up cooling fan, POWER ON light stays steady, no response from LCD or Keyboard.

I've re-assembled the laptop several times & cannot find any missing connections or obvious signs of damage.

The only thing I can think of is somehow the mainboard got damaged - finding replacements is tricky.

Any ideas?

A:Satellite Pro S300-120 won't start after CMOS battery replacement

Hi

POWER ON led once green then twice orange, at 1/2 second intervals, with no response from LCD or keyboard.
Usually if the power voltage in abnormal of the power supply malfunctions the DC IN LED will flashes orange.

So in my opinion it looks like a problem with the motherboard :(
Possibly you will need to replace the mobo ;(

Hi,

Had my laptop for a few years and my hard disk just died. Bought a new hard drive and all is well...except I never created a recovery DVD (I know, stupid, wont make the same mistake again).

The laptop came with a recovery disk that installs Win XP, but i cant seem to install Win 7 and all the standard Toshiba software and drivers, it just doesn't seem to work. I have tried downloading all the drivers on a seperate PC, but I have no idea of an install order, or what I really should be installing if I'm honest.

I read online that it is possible to pay a relatively small sum and get a new boot disk sent to me that would answer all my issues, is that possible, and is that the best way to sort my issue?

Thanks

A:Satellite Pro L650-1CG - corrupted HDD

Yes. This is possible and, in my opinion, best solution for you.
Original recovery disc for your machine you can order on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

Using original recovery disc OS installation will be very simply. You don't need to install all drivers, tools and utilities. Preinstalled Windows version will be activated and you can use it anytime you want and so often you want.

Please check this option.

If you make decision to install own OS version and need some assistance please let us know.

Hi,
I'm owner of Toshiba Satellite L650-1KU, PSK1LE laptop for roughly 5 years.
I've decided to upgrade its RAM, because it became slower and slower each year when using browsers.

I've bought Kingston 4GB 1600MHz 1.5V DDR3 CL11 SODIMM KCP316SS8/4 RAM .
Physically it should be compatible with laptop, because originally used RAMs were 2+1GB :
1) 2GB DDR3 PC-8500 1066MHz MT16JSF25664HZ-1G1F1
2) 1GB DDR3 P000527760

in other words, everything, except maximum operating frequency, matches.
After I installed new RAM into slot, my laptop continue to work until "Windows starting..." screen. This text is visible for 0.5-1 second, and then blue screen appears.

I've updated BIOS and chipset driver to the latest version, available at toshiba driver download section. Same result;
Could you advice, how to launch this RAM with my laptop?

P.S.> I suspect, that if I could manually set RAM frequency in BIOS, this could solve the issue, however insydeH2O BIOS doesn't have such feature... - RAM field is inactive =( (except specific BIOS version, mentioned here - link).

Open windows power management and settings for power plan you use. There you will find advanced power option. Open it and there you will find Toshiba power saver options.

Open all available option and check cooling method settings. Set it to battery optimized option.
This should reduce cooling fan speed.

Please test it and post results.

I have an old (about 5 years) laptop Satellite L650-1CN Laptop.

The serial number cant be found on the support page, neither does the serial number. I want to completely reset it to how it left the factory.

I found on the internet that you either have to hold the 0, f1 or f8 button when startying up, but that doenst work.
I also found the 'toshiba recovery media creator' but when i want to open the programme it says that its been (re)moved. On the D drive there is a 'recovery' direction, but I can not open those files. windows asks me to select a programme to open them with.

Can anybody help me with this?
It's a good laptop so it would be a shame to throw it away.

Thank you for your help!

A:Satellite L650-1CN - want to set to factory settings

Press power button and then press immediately the F8 button.
This should allow you to access the Advanced Boot Menu.
Usually you should be able to choose the first option “Repair my Computer” and then “Toshiba HDD recovery”.

If this is not possible then you will need to use the recovery medium to recover the notebook.
I guess you did not create the recovery disk in the past…
But it seems that the recovery files are still available on the HDD

So try this workaround:
How to create a USB recovery media flash drive from recovery ISO images- or discs (DVDs)
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm

If this will not help, try to order the recovery disk from Arvato:

At first I must tell you that product key that you can see on the Microsoft sticker is ?useless?. This product key belongs to original OS version that you have got with your machine so it cannot be used for Windows activation if you install your own version.

Try at first to install original recovery image, if possible. How it works you can read on - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

Hi there,

I'm guessing it won't, but thought I'd ask just in case.

Thanks

A:Will RAM from Satellite Pro M40 fit L650 notebook model?

Sorry but I don?t know why this combination. Max RAM on M40 is 2x1GB and I think you have in L650 2x2GB. Right?

It is not logic to me.
I don?t know which L650 do you have exactly but some models can be upgraded up to 8GB so it will be better for you to upgrade L650 with one 4GB RAM. Part number is PA3677U-1M4G.

By the way: there is different bus clock so on new notebook you should use compatible and faster modules only.

Hi All
I' m struggling to figure out exactly what has happened with my connectivity on my Satellite L650 PSKIJOE8017 laptop.

I was transferring some photo from my mobile phone via Bluetooth & was connected to the wireless internet at the same time which is a stock standard thing for me to do. Suddenly after I transferred the photos the internet dropped out and now I cannot get it back & Bluetooth also no longer works.

I have no wireless drivers to speak of when I go to the Control Panel - Device Manager and therefore nothing to update or enable?

The same can be said for Bluetooth although it is the wireless internet that is my primary concern at the moment.

I have downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba website yet they still don't appear in the device manager so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

Is there anyway I can automatically detect all drivers that are missing & reintall or what should I do. I'm at a loss after hours of trying to figure it out.

It is not easy to solve such issues because nobody knows what the problem is. it can be BIOS related issue or some other hardware related issue.
Problem is that there are no much options to do about it.

You can try to remove battery and disconnect AC power supply, press power button for a while and try to start it with AC power supply again. Does the same happen again?

> The LED lights were on, but the laptop doesn't start...
Can you hear cooling vent? When notebook is ON does it goes off few seconds later or simply stays ON but without any reaction?

9. Measured CPU temperature under Linux and memtest86 - in both cases temperature was around 65-70C where I read for this model is stable even with 90C+ temperatures - max temperature on Intel website is 105C.
10. Checked capacitors and they looked fine - no bulge.
It shutdowns no matter if running in BIOS, Windows, Linux or memtest.
Please help me, I lost ideas what it could be. I didn't update BIOS because it is risky to start procedure if it shuts down in 4-6 minutes.
Greetings and thanks for help

Hi guys,

I bought a satellite L650 notebook and right from day 2 i noticed there's a high pitch noise (you can check the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XLiejMy5Ns ) coming from somewhere underneath the touchpad when browsing the internet. It is very annoying and since i noticed it first, very hard to ignore, unless there's music playing in the background.

I can hear it almost anywhere if i put my ear over the keyboard, but it is most intense right over the touchpad. If i close the browser, the noise stops ( so i don't think it's because of the C-states of the i5 CPU, because when idle, the noise stops and when running multiple programs or games, the noise isn't there also ).

I took it to the service, still having aprox 6months warranty. At first, they said it is because the fan was full of dust. Of course, it wasn't the case. Then, they changed my motherboard and cooler. This didn't fix it either. Third time they changed the hdd (because of bad sectors, they said).

Did anybody have the same problem? What do you suggest I should do? Take it back to service again? It seems like they don't know how to fix it either. I also had an argue with them because at first they refused to repair it, saying it is not a malfunction, so I worry that they will just give the laptop back the way i took it, after the 4th time being in service for this problem.

Any information or advice is useful!

Thanks!

Vlad

A:High pitch electric noise on Satellite L650

I went through a clean install later today, after posting my questions. I'm using the older version of IE that came with windows7 cd and the noise isn't there anymore. I can still hear something if i come close to the keyboard, but it isn't that noticeable as it used to be.
I'm afraid now to use firefox or chrome thinking i might trigger it back :-)

Hey there,

I just got my notebook back from support since my harddrive failed last week.

So, since I'd have to reconfigure everything anyways, I'm thinking about installing Windows 8.1, which I can get through a student program of my university.

The preparation stops at the drivers, though, since I can't find any drivers for Windows 8 and my model.

Note that my model is an L650-1L4 and was originally shipped with Windows 7.

Has somebody here maybe some experience with this?
Are the generic drivers included in Win8 sufficient to be able to work - and play games - flawlessly?

While I could easily wipe the Win8 installation and reinstall Win7 again, I like to be prepared, and since I'm leaving this weekend for a small vacation, I'd like to have a working notebook with me.

Thanks for your help!

A:Some tips to install Windows 8.1 on Satellite L650-1L4 required

Hmmmmm...... it can be a bit complicated. I?ve checked Toshiba download page and your notebook model is not supported for Win8. I?ve checked some other models with similar hardware configuration but they are not supported for Win8.

I really don't know what to say. If you have created recovery disc (Win7) install Win8 and check how it works. Some Toshiba specific tools and utilities you can download from other models in hope everything will work well.

Anyway I think you should stay on Win7.

A friend's Satellite Pro L650 having worked fine until yesterday, suddenly powered itself off. Now on startup, it will power on as normal for about 10-15 secs before powering off abruptly. On power off, the white/blue DC In LED and the orange Power LED both flash on an off together at about one second intervals. This powering off happens whether I let it boot to Windows or press F2 to go into BIOS setup.

I'm assuming this flashing is intended to serve as some sort of diagnostic code, but I've yet to track down what it means. Can anyone help?

For the avoidance of doubt, powering up without the battery produces the same, abrupt power off experience, except the two LEDs remain solidly lit this time. With or without battery, trying to power up again immediately after a power off produces no response at all. Removing the power lead and immediately reconnecting it again and then powering on produces an abrupt power off, but within less than 5 seconds of being turned on. The longer I wait between power on attempts seems to give a slightly longer powered on state, but without fail, the machine will just power off suddenly. Surely with the short "power on" times we're talking about, it can't be any kind of thermal cut out?

I had an old Satellite L450D lying around which coincidentally uses the same PA-1750 AC adapter but using it made no difference. Its battery of course will not fit the L650 !

The only previous issues I'm aware of with this machine were intermit... Read more

I downloaded windows 8 on my partner's Toshiba Satellite L650 laptop and now the wireless connection doesn't work.
All other devices get wireless connection but the Toshiba doesn't now after the upgrade.

I've read somewhere that it may need new drivers or something like that, but i'm not tech savvy and wouldn't know where to start.

Can anyone help? I'm using another laptop to post this as there's no connection on the Toshiba.

Thanks

A:Satellite L650 - lost WLAN connection after upgrading to Win8

At first can you please post exact notebook model number (L650-xxx)?
I want to check which WLAN card is inside.

Open device manager and check the WLAN card status. Please post some feedback about these basic information.
