If your internet explorer is out of date, take notice.

Q: If your internet explorer is out of date, take notice.

If you are updated to ie6 sp1, no problem. If you aren't I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to update now.

Preferred Solution: If your internet explorer is out of date, take notice.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

When you send information to the internet, it might be possible for others to see that information. do you want to continue

I am recieving the above error message on the majority of pages (especially when i search on google and change focus on multimap). It does gove me the option to not show the message again however Internet Explorer doesnt seem to recognise that I have checked this option.

I have spent an hour or so browsing the internet and have found that other people have had the same problem. I found a solution that said if i go into internet options>security and then customise the security level (enable "Submin Non-Encrypted form data") however this has not been effective and i still have the same problem.

I then found that if i add the site to my "Local Intranet" or "Trusted Sites" in Tools>Internet Options>Security then the message no longer shows up on that website. However I do not wish to have to add all of the websites that I visit into my trusted sites

I am running Microsoft XP and Internet Explorer 7 if that helps

Any advice would be much appreciated

Does it mean it's not working at all ? if I don't update ?
Even with notifications off and no update notice option, I'm keep getting it.
The reason why I don't want to update is because
if updated,  it seems like it's a 30 day trial version.
I only want free version not trial or pay version.
Because I do see that trial letter and everything seems like it's pay to use
and not working unless paid.

A:Malwarebytes update notice "Your software is out of date."

You do not say which version of Malwarebytes you currently have, what kind of licence you currently have, or what OS you are running (I'm assuming Windows).
The most recent version of MWB for windows can currently be downloaded here https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/208689-malwarebytes-32-now-available/  you can run the installer over an existing installation.
Older non-expiring licenses are grandfathered into the new versions, or if you are on the newer subscriptions they will of course work.
If you are running MWB v2.2 or earlier , MWB will stop supporting it soon so you have little choice but to upgrade. Earlier teething issues with MWB v3 are largely resolved but as the V3 product is more resource intensive as it protects in more ways - older PCs may struggle.
Lots more info here https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/41-malwarebytes-3/
(apologies - missed you were looking for free version - Trial version will revert to free after 14 days)

Even better would be Fri 23/Sep/2016 11:08 PM

Yes, quite easily
This is in W8.1, but I am certain that it is the same in all other systems

first go to control panel & select language / then change date / time //number

set long date to bottom option. dddd dd MMM yyyy

Then select additional settings & select the date tab
in the short date box add dddd, to the start of the line & press apply, OK & exit out and when you next open explorer , you will have the entire date shown in all its glory

I am using windows 10.
While doing some checks I started to notice there are strange IP's (mostly registered to Sprint) connected under explorer.exe, the local ports are always different when the IP's come back around. I've come across these established connections through netstat commands, TCPview and system explorer.
explorer.exe 10.0.0.x:24744 -
explorer.exe 10.0.0.x:2965 - port 80
sometimes a different such as 50 rather than 48 at the end
also often established under explorer.exe is xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx.deploy.static.akamaitechnologies.com:http which I don't like, but doesn't concern me as much.
when I did see a PID attached to these connections I could not find the matching PID in my processes. I scanned for hidden processes, which there are 1-3 hidden PIDs at different times, however non of those match either. I don't know how to figure out what these hidden PID's account for. I do my homework, but I still consider myself closer to a novice.
I tried blocking the IP within my firewall but still noticed the foreign IP afterwards.(it comes and goes and I've also seen a different suspicious IP)
I've scanned and cleaned my comp with malwarebytes, avast, iobit malware fighter, rogue killer, and iobit advanced system care.

Running W7 Pro 64, latest updates (12/15/2011.)

Apparently since the last update(s) any folder opened in Windows Explorer sorts by date. I use detail view because I'm used to it. I can click View|Sort by|File Name and the contents of the folder are sorted "correctly" (at least what I think is correctly) but if I change the folder name, the sort mode reverts to date.

I have a program that writes some output to a file with the default name of "output.txt"
The output file is opened using the following line of code:
hFile = CreateFile( szOutputFile,

Under 64 bit Windows 7 Pro (completely up-to-date according to Windows Update) the Windows Explorer in DETAILS view shows the same date/time for the file before and after my program runs.  It appears to be the date the file was originally created about
a year ago.  The Date column in Explorer seems to be showing the
Create date instead of the more expected Last Modified date and enabling those columns appears to confirm that fact.  (Last Modified is correctly changed when my program writes the file.)
I'm curious, though, in the past the CREATE_ALWAYS flag also changed the creation date for a file, because the old file was totally lost and overwritten.  When the Explorer and the create date bugs are combined, it can make it VERY
difficult to find the "new" file in a folder!

I have many newspaper clippings in MY Documents. They are variously formatted (TXT, WORD, and PDF). Using Windows Explorer in Windows XP, I know exactly how to view these documents according to their date created or date modified. But how do I view these documents according to their date of publication? If I upgrade to VISTA, will I be able to do this?

1) There must be a way to attach "date of publication" as a property to TXT, Word, and PDF files.

2) There must be a way to view files chronologically in Windows Explorer - not according to their date of creation or modification but according to their date of publication.

Can someone please help?! Maybe someone writing a dissertation with lots of historical sources can feel my pain. I've been playing with MS Word Properties, and trying to create custom attributes but so far I still haven't been able to figure out how to a) correctly format a new attribute for Date of Publication or b) search for that customized attribute in Windows Explorer.

In short, I want to see all of my files in the order that they were published so that I can have a "timeline of events" based on saved newspaper clippings.

Yes, you should be able to see your files in order of date of publication. Once you find all the files, you can right click on the taskbar in windows explorer and choose to view that date of publication. If you want to edit these, double click on the date and change it...

Im 99% sure this works. I will look around online a little more.

Hope this helps,

I just wanted to share a fix I have for a problem I was experiencing with windows explorer.

The problem is clicking on a directory with a bunch of files in it (that has been set to sort by date as default) is painfully slow , like 3 or 4 secs. If the directory is set to sort alphabetically then every thing is ok.

after much pain I found the problem to be down to my anti-virus solution, I was using Panda cloud anti-virus. Once uninstalled the problem is removed. clicking on the same directory opens it instantaneously. hope this saves someone from the same frustration I had.

Panda Cloud is quite annoying and requires lots of fixes and improvement...when i used it previously it used to say that i am not connected to the internet whereas i was. But indeed Panda has a quite good detection ratio.

On my external hard drive, I have a ton of photos from different cameras that retain the weird file-naming scheme that the camera implements so the order is weird and out of whack. I've been wanting to organize these photos and thought the best way to do it would be to sort it by date; however, when I click the sort-by date tab, it takes FOREVER to sort it.

It's weird because this seems to only happen with certain folders and not others within the same drive so I'm pretty baffled as to why this happens and how to fix it.

I tried to do a search on the forum to see if anyone else encountered a similar problem by searching the word "sort" but I came up empty. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, i am new at this, so bear with me lol

We have just moved our XP computer into the living room, and connected it to a 58kb dial-up connection. We installed AVG 8 and everything was running fine

Now we've installed Windows Live OneCare Family safety on the machine so we can monitor my borther and sisters internet usage.

Now, the computer runs extremely slowely, Windows Explorer continually crashes, meaning we have great difficulty opening My Documents, and My Computer or anything that requires Explorer to open

As well as this, now the internet is majorly slow... even for bloomin dial-up, we used to get at least 9kbps, but now its shot down to between 2.5 and 1.5 kbps

AVG is now continuously scanning... even outside of scheduled scans, and constantly wants to update :S

And finally, i have now noticed that small files i dont use very frequently have begun to dissapear from the system!!! music files, images, word docs etc.

We have tried defragging it, scandisk, using AdAware SE Personal 2005, AVG Scans, and they all come up with negligeable results.

As well as this, now the pc wont install files for Trend Micro Online scans to run... so we cant even work it out that way :S

I have a suspicion this could be something to do with OneCare, or Multiple Viruses in the system that have somehow hidden themselves from AVG

This sounds like a virus, have you tried running a hijackthis log?

we are currently facing a problem with our SharePoint Site crashing the Internet Explorer 10. We have no idea which custom code triggers this crash and why.

We have no Problem with IE9, IE11, Chrome or FireFox.If we change the tab while loading the page in the IE10 and switch back, everything works fine.It crashes on all Windows 7 Systems tested so far. Seems to be no Policy problem. All Addons disabled, same problemCleared cached Data, same problem
Any idea how to debug this issue?
With kind regards!

The title says it all; I'd like to organize music I've added to my hard drive by date added and/or date changed. Is there a way to do that?

A:Can files be arranged in Windows Explorer by date of modification?

Yes they can.

Open Windows Explorer>Right-click>Arrange Icons By>Modified.

That should do it.

Windows Explorer is sorting files on a network drive always by name. It doesn't save sorting by modification date. Where can I reset this behavior?
We had temporarily activated GPOs at "User Configuration," / "Preferences" / "Control Panel Settings." / "Folder Options (Windows Vista and later)." / (Hide Extensions for Known File Types), but I think that's not
directly related.
Thank you in advance.
