Q: Multiple BSODs and crashed after 2 months of inactivity

Good day,

I have been away on vacation for 2 months and after I've come back, my pc went to hell :D

These are the problems im facing :

The PC BSODs after putting pressure on it. Mainly - games.

Firstly ALL of them simply crash, browser ones - shockwave has crashed.
Minecraft - java crashed.
Guild Wars 2 - crash, etc etc.

Now if I put even more pressure than just try playing them, for example run a minecraft server AND play in it - I BSOD.

Now a day back it was alot worse - I would BSOD minutes after startup without doing a thing! So I took measure :

1. Updated all my drivers.
2. Ran a virus scan (clean)
3. Ran a Malware scan (1 malware file)
4. Used Registry Mechanic to its full power.

All of these seem to have helped to getting me able to use the pc just fine if I dont game.

Now what I suspect is a RAM failure. I ran a Memtest and it came out with 29 errors after one run.

I'm new to the forums and also am using Windows XP SP3 so I dont know what error info and how to give you :( If you specify and instruct -ill get you the logs.

Computer :
Inter(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU
E4600 @2.40GHz
2.40 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM
Physical Adress Extension.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 video card (only half a year old)
The computer itself is a dazzling 5 years old, had my last OS reinstall half a year back too.

Also - its not the heating, I've cleaned all the dust and checked the temperature for quite a while - its stable all the time, even under stress.

Multiple BSODs since > 2 months. Most often atikmdag.sys causing it, but lately multiple other drivers invovled. Tried upgrading/downgrading graphics drivers, chipset drivers, tried updating BIOS, tried manually installing AMD drivers. chdsk without errors, sfc scan without errors, anti-virus scans without errors, memtest for 4 h without errors. Furmark benchmark 3 h without errors.
The most common trigger for the BSOD is scrolling a web page (not during benchmarks or playing games)! Disabling harware acceleration did not help either.

Max temp on Furmark - 72 C
Max temp on Prime95 Blend 8 tests - CPU 74 C

Any help would be much appreciated! Things are getting desperate!

-I purchased the hardware & assembled my machine in late December 2011
-Full Retail version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
-Multiple (at least 4) clean installations of the OS over the past 6 months, all BSODing
-Initial OS installations (at least 2 from Dec. to Feb.) were performed on a WD hdd...all had BSOD problems
-RAM: In January performed "stick by stick" & "slot by slot" testing with Memtest86+. No reported errors on Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600 CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B
-SSD: This latest clean OS installation is the 2nd clean OS installation onto a Samsung 128GB SSD 830 Series purchased & installed in late February & updated to the latest FW update (CXM03B1Q) prior to any OS installations. Using the latest Samsung SSD Magician software & its OS optimization
-CPU: Intel i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core cooled with Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

The 5 most recent are caused by memory corruption (probably a driver-My bet is avg)

I notice your AVG which is often at least a contributing cause of BSOD'S . Please remove and replace your AVG with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Download tools and utilities | AVG Worldwide

Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

These crashes were caused by memory corruption (probably a driver). Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!
1-Memtest.

So I've been getting multiple BSODs over the past few months during general use. I've gotten several different stop error codes that I will list below, as well as uploading the zip file as per the posting instructions.

Driver Irql not less or equal
Kmode exception not handled
System thread exception not handled
Page fault in nonpaged area,

Any and all help is very appreciated! I've tried updating drivers and running memtest, but the problems still persist.

Welcome to the 8forums.

It appears I cannot read the latest dump file, this could be caused by hardware damage. I think the hard drive might be causing this.
The 2nd most recent dump file says there might be memory corruption.

The BSOD's happen while I'm browsing the internet or playing games. I've seen IRQL Less then or equal to and one which referenced Direct X in the last 3 days. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

The fresh install was prompted by a video card overheating (running at 84C in a freshly turned on computer) and having to replace Mobo, CPU, RAM, and video card - as it had burned out the pci-e port on the old mobo

Hello my name is Josh I have followed your instructions on the BSOD posting instructions and will attach the logs for review.

The computer is sporadic sometimes it will bsod almost immediately launching almost any game wow,steam games,ect even sometimes just launching the web. Other times it will run for hours without bsod then suddenly crash. I've seen it get to the desktop and bsod 5-6 times in a row. Very random from what I can tell its not linked to a specific application.

Any help is greatly appreciated at this point i'm thinking its probly a hardware failure of some sort. Pinning it down would be helpful.

Howdy all! I was here in the past a while ago with getting semi-frequent BSODs on boot after the splash and login screen. The issue I found was a loose power connector. I snugged it in place, and then my system is fine for many months (maybe four or five). Now this morning, I had quite a few BSODs after the splash screen and logging onto my computer. I was finally able to get a successful boot after many attempts. I checked power connections, tried to make the connections secure, yet still got BSODs. Dump is attached. You guys are awesome. Hi there this is my first post on these forums so apologies if I'm not too familiar with the layout. I'm not too computer savy so if anyone could try simplify any answers/solutions that would be great. Basically the problem is for the past few months around start up of windows 7 I was getting freezes, BSOD errors (in particular IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL and Page_fault_in_non_paged_area being the main ones) and my pc would be in a continuous loop of booting then freezing or shutting down and I couldn't get the pc to work. I thought the problem could be corrupted windows files so I reinstalled windows onto my computer using the isntallation disk and installed drivers and all was working fine for around 4 days. Each day my windows would have importaint updates so I installed them when prompted. One day I all of a sudden started getting the same errors I got before, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGEED_AREA and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL and no new software had been installed at this point. I have tested ram and my hard drive with no errors showing although when looking at properties of my computer I have 20GB of ram (16GB Available) not sure if this has anything to do with it (2 x 8 GB sticks 1 X 4 GB stick). Hopefully you guys can help me out and prevent me shelling out on a new rig. Thank you, Conor .

Before the reformat/reinstall, I accrued similar BSOD error codes as attached. I'll note that the frequency of BSODs has gone down considerably since I reformatted/reinstalled (Instead of once maybe 5-12 hours of activity, now its closer to once per 24-30 hours).
 
I've run various versions of MemTest86 (As well as Window's Memory Diagnostic Tool) while swapping the sticks around, checking each pairs, different slots and different combinations, all of which have resulted in no errors. I'll be running MemTest again as soon as Driver Verifier is complete. I have run SSDLife on both SSDs with no errors in both SMART and file system integrity (I can include logs if need be), I'll be running health checks on my HDD but recent checks on both SMART and file system integrity (As of Dec 2015) came back clean.

5 months of Multiple BSODs on a brand new computer - driver or hardware error? Mini dump analysis help please.

Hi, I?m looking for anyone who can analyse mini dumps and help me determine the source of my problems.

The system has been giving me hell from the start. The problem often manifests in different driver and memory errors - To my level of understanding the errors seem to be fairly unrelated. When it runs well it?s awesome and it really performs. When it starts messing up, that?s it, it might BSOD on every start up 5times in a row and then start working for no apparent reason.

I ruled out: faulty PSU and faulty RAM, and system always runs cool, (the hottest component being the fanless graphics card).

I have also run extensive tests on system hard drive:
Seatools returned no errors after firmware upgrade and 2 long tests. However DiskCheckup keeps changing its mind out predicted TEC date: it jumps from Jan 2010 too Aug 2011 either of which is unacceptable and well within manufacture warranty

Reinstalled windows countless times with different installation CDs

So that leaves MOBO, CPU, GPU or maybe some software of driver issue.

I feel that it must be hardware related but I can?t work out what it is, on top of that the faults are often intermittent making trial and error testing unreliable. phew~ new poster here and I hope someone can work through this problem because I've been given the hardest time with this one.

System Specs:
OS: Vista Ult. 64bit
Mobo: AN9 Fata1ity (want to change very soon)
RAM: Corsair 2 sets of 2, 512mb dual channel DDR2
Video: Nvidia 8800gts 320mb
CPU: Athlon x64 (dual ~2.4ghz, can't remember exact numbers)
others are basics, dvd-r, 600w power supply, etc.

I've been getting a ton of BSODs since I got back from a 4-5day vacation, ranging from Memory Management issues to IRQL/Driver_IRQL messages, and even some other ones I've never even heard of before (e.g. System something...I don't even know. continuously BSOD'd right before the login screen.) I haven't had very many issues before, but the most noteworthy was the DRIVER_IRQL BSODs. I've definitely had my fair share of those. The DRIVER_IRQL issues also happened when I was using an ATI x1900 256mb video card, which I had replaced 4-5 months ago. I haven't had these DRIVER_IRQL issues since my old video card, but it seems to be coming back for some reason, so I did update my video card's drivers. I've run into a site today depicting the System BSOD issue I've been having just recently, talking about the ATI catalysts software still running its update manager in my services and I ended up getting that BSOD to leave me alone when I disabled it. crossing my fingers and hoping that was it for that specific issue.

Hi All,  I bought a Yoga 900-13ISK and after 6 months, with no reason at all, it crashed. The only thing I get is the Lenovo sign when I turn it on. I then get a blue pop up screen (After 10 minutes aproximately) stating "Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed. Insert Recovery Media and Hit any Key. Then select 'Boot Manager' to choose a new Boot Device or to Boot Recovery Media. If I reboot it to get the BIOS Menu, it does not do anything until 30 minutes later, that the BIOS screen starts up (I can see the Hard Disk detected (Liteon CV1-8B256 SSD). I tried booting it with a USB containing hiren software with XP and errors still appear. Any idea? I haven't installed anything weird lately. It started happening from one day to the other. I had bought this desktop in Feb.2016 from Costco. It crashed in Oct.2016. I sent it for repairs as advised by HP. Motherboard was changed.It has completely crashed again Jan. 2017, just 2 months after repairs. I have lost all my work.The customer service supervisor promised to escalate the matter and promised a call back from HP. Nothing happened. On calling up was told by another supervisor that he did not see any escalation and I will have to send my computer again for repairs.PLEASE NEVER BUY A HP PRODUCT. THIS IS THEIR QUALITY. IT CRASHES EVERY TWO MONTHS AND LOSES ALL YOUR WORK. MOST UNRELIABLE PRODUCT.

I bought my Y700 in 2015 late November( about 5 months ago). Lately I noticed my laptop was running very slow even though I had ssd in the laptop. then 2 days ago it started freezing and tool me for ever to access the data I had in the 1tb HDD. Then as I am a computer tech, I ran a HDD diagnose tool and found out my HDD had, only 52% health with 91 bad sectors.  After finding out this I was very very disappointed as I spent $1400 on this item and replaced my HP dv6 which I used for 3 years with no issues. I really thought the y700 will be very reliable but I lost a lot of data. I cannot access most of the data and the data I can access, cannot be moved to another external HDD as it freezes and stops the moving/coping process.  All I asked from the customer care service to replace the low end HDD with a ssd which I know is very reliable but yet they said they cannot do it and told me to backing my up is my responsibility. So I need to buy another 1TB HDD just back up my y700's 1tb HDD (I have the pdf version of the chat I had with the customer service). I definitely could have done that after 2 years of usage as that's the average time period of a HDD to go bad. Even my HP dv6 HDD went to 80% after 3 years of usage.  Also I asked for the part so I can replace it my self. That way, The company will save money on shipping my heavy y700 back and forth plus repair and part costs.  I really cant afford loosing my data again. matter ... Read more

Good and Free system security combination.
Download and install the security setup of your choice, update the software, and then run a full scan of your system for viruses and malware. If you only install MSE, I would also suggest installing and updating Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download, but do not start the free trial/full version of Malwarebytes. Run a full scan with Malwarebytes after updating it. Post back the results.


Which ASUS P5K motherboard do you have installed? Please fill in your system specs more accurately by using System Info - See Your System Specs as a guide. Fill the specs in on your profile, not in a post in this thread.

Never tried using a forum before so please excuse me if I do something wrong.
I'm desperate.
I built this PC with a little help from a computer savant. He helped me chose the pieces and I put it together. It's about 15 months old. Recently it fried the main SSD from which the OS booted (after 11 months of use). It was of course my fault for filling the SSD more than 80% (I have no computer certifications, I go by instinct most of the time and then learn the hard way) ... so it wouldn't surprise me if I have something to do with the computer failing so much now.
I've also had the feeling that my system has never really ran at full potential.
I think my BIOS settings need seen to as well. It's all on "default", when I think they can be tuned according to the components... but I don't know how to do that

Iv'e been suffering from bsod since shortly after build, done lots of re instals, different discs,every,test Ican find no change memtest (ok) memtest 86 older version (ok).
When I run Mem86_4 ALL of the sticks fail at test 7 (block movement ?) in every
configuration, 4,2x2, single, tried them all.
She does run in safemode with networking,but bsod on normal start.
I'm using my laptop for this.
I think I really need help here

Seems you've got back sticks of RAM, just buy new RAM and it'll be fine
Test each stick separately to identify the defective one(s)

Back in May I went through quite a few rounds of troubleshooting here for BSOD's that had been occurring. (Search for my previous threads to see that.) I ran memtest for 8 hours and had no errors, updated a bunch of drivers, etc. Since then I have had almost no issues... until a couple of days ago. Now it seems suddenly I am getting BSOD's very frequently - sometimes multiple times a day. There is no obvious pattern as to what triggers them. Sometimes I am using Eclipse (Java IDE). Sometimes I am reading email on Outlook. Etc. I have attached the zip file with all the dumps from the very latest BSOD. I can attach others if needed. Perhaps someone here will see an issue that I can fix. Thanks!

A:BSODs recurring after a few months with few or none

First off, the G750 series has had some issues with video card problems (both with overheating and with failing cards). Stay aware of this while you're troubleshooting.

Out of 6 memory dumps there were 5 different BSOD error codes. The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- dirt/dust/hair/fur/crud inside the case. Blow out the case/vents with canned air (DO NOT use an air compressor or vacuum as they can cause damage to the system)
- missing Windows Updates
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers), older systems, or even pirated systems
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostic... Read more

Alright guys,

Hope you all can help me sort this out since it's driving me crazy. Back in December of 2011, I overhauled my gaming rig with a new power supply (750W Silverstone Strider Gold), a new CPU (Core 2 Quad Extreme 9650), a new video card (EVGA GTX570 Superclocked), a new audio card (Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty), an additional 2 x 2gb of G.SKILL DDR2 800 Pi RAM for a total of 8gb, and a new Corsair case (not that this should matter). The additional ram was matched with an older 2 x 2gb set of G.SKILL Pi RAM. According to the manufacturer, the only thing that was changed between the two sets was the heat spreader. Additionally, I'm running Vista Ultimate x64.

My machine hummed along awesomely for about 5 months. Then back in May of this year, I started getting random crashes in World of Warcraft and Battlefield 3. At first, I would just crash to the desktop, but then this devolved into total BSOD system crashes. The stop messages include the following: CACHE_MANAGER, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE, POOL_CORRUPTION_IN_FILE_AREA, INTERRUPT_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.

A:Random BSODs for the last 4 months

Welcome
First we do not have any current dump reports, the most current is several months old, I do not know what happened to the most current dmp reports.
That being said, if I do not read any of your narrative, my first thought would be that this is a hardware problem. There is an ocassional reference to memory. That is all that your reports indicate.
Now based upon that information and the fact that using 4 sticks you had 1000 errors, I would conclude that this is a memory problem. In fact one failed memtest indicates memory problem and the sticks shold be changed.
My inclination is that your specific problem is that the 4 sticks do not play nicely together, which is often the case when you mix and match and do not buy all the sticks at once. The only thing that I can suggest from your post and the test results is that you test the machine using different ram.
This does not seem to be a problem that will be solved by reinstalling, Vista or any other OS.

Sorry for all the text and thanks for reading in advance.

BSODs are random, it can be just browsing chrome or in the middle of a game. I've attached my most recent dumps. Strange things that my computer does that are worth noting is random extensions crash on chrome, and sometimes chrome just closes at a random time and won't open back up until I restart my computer. Some games(overwatch is the most consistent in crashing but it's still random) randomly crash so I thought it might have been my video card, but I run Unigine perfectly fine with alright temperatures in the max settings. Also when chrome crashes sometimes when I go to restart my computer that's when I'll get a bluescreen. Just before I started writing this my chrome closed so I had to restart and got the damn BSOD. Sometimes I will go to restart or shutdown and it just gets stuck on shutting down.

It's like sometimes I am certain that is has to be a driver, other times I am not sure at all, and then something else a little different will happen and then I'm certain it's hardware. I can't pin it down at all.

I'm on my 3rd set of ram, chkdsk and memtest both come back with zero problems. I want to list everything I've done but to be honest over the course of half a year, I can't even remember half of the things.

Reinstalled Windows 10+ times, used DDU in safe mode (cant load safe mode anymore) to remove AMD drivers and reinstalled the latest, around 10-15 times. Bought a new and more powerful... Read more

Hey everyone, i've been having the same BSOD ever since I got my new computer in November last year.

After repeatedly getting the 'A clock interval was not recieved on a secondary processor' BSOD a million times, I decided to send my processor back to ebuyer who said it was faulty and sent me a new one. I've also reinstalled windows completely as well as take out all parts to clean them.

Unfortunately this still hasnt solved my problem out like i'd hoped. The bluescreens are less frequent but still a nuisance when I'm trying to do my university work. It also crashes randomly sometimes without a bluescreen error.

I found a post here and read about running my minidump files through Microsoft's debugger but the setup just failed so I find myself begging for someone to take a look at my minidump files and potentially find me an answer to this frustrating problem.

The crashes typically occur when doing very small tasks like clicking a button in 3DS max, links on firefox. It seems to happen when it's loading something within an application its more likely to crash. People i've spoke to about it think it could be the motherboard but i've updated the bios. I'll also include my system hardware in this post:

It was kind of a curve ball, and a little unsettling, because I thought I had solved the problem. I think I've narrowed it down to my graphics card, since a lot of the recent BSODs point to it, but I'm not sure if it's because the drivers are bad, or if the card itself is bad (it's an Nvidia, and I thought that those cards are able to withstand gaming for several years, so I'm a little disheartened if it's a bad card).

The original installed OS was Windows 7, I think (this is a used laptop)

Various differemt bugchecks but they're all pointing to your GPU drivers of DirectX one way or another. I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling your nVidia video drivers and reinstalling the latest version. If you're already on the latest version, I'd recommend uninstalling and installing a previous version to the latest to be sure it's not a simple driver issue.

I've been getting seemingly random BSODs on my Win8.1 box for months now. There are several different errors that show up, and most of them seem to point to the drivers. I have no idea which driver could be causing the issue though, as I've reinstalled the majority of them.

A few I can remember:

I'm at a loss of what to do at this point. Some days I only get one BSOD, other days I get 5+. It's really starting to be an issue.

I've been having BSODs since I built my system nine months ago, and I'm at a complete loss as to what's wrong. Just recently I RMA'd my motherboard as a last-ditch attempt at a fix because I couldn't find anything wrong. Every blue screen is an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error. My device drivers are all up to date. My BIOS is up to date. I've run about 20 memtests and all come back clean. I've run diagnostics on my hard drives and all come back clean.

I got my motherboard back from the manufacturer in the beginning of December. My first blue screen after that was yesterday, after I used Registry Booster to clean my registry. I restored the files since I'd hoped that I'd removed something accidentally. I just received a second one about a half hour ago. I reset, and the system hung when Windows was trying to load. I reset again, got the message that Windows didn't start normally and the system hung at the 27 second countdown to choose how to load Windows. I did a hard shut down, booted, and it appeared to boot normally.

I did have a backup motherboard I used while my current one was being repaired, and during that time I had three Kernel error blue screens. After the third, the system did an automatic Disk Check on reboot and I didn't have one after that. Granted, I was only using that motherboard for about a month.

Ever since I built this PC I've had BSODs every so often. I've not been able to trace them to any particular source, but lately they seem to be getting a lot more frequent and I am getting fed up, so I figured I would try asking here.

I've used the SF Diagnostic Tool to gather the requested information and attach it to this thread.

The most recent one seems to suggest a problem with the CPU. It's been suggested to me that my CPU might need a microcode update - I installed SiSoft Sandra Lite which is able to check the CPU microcode level and indeed it does suggest it isn't on the latest version, but as far as I can tell there is no procedure for manually updating microcode, you just have to wait and hope it comes down through Windows Update or something.

Can anyone help?

Hello all,
 
I have been struggling with BSODs for months and months and I am about to start selling my computer as scrap, I just don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I have run memtest and other similar stress tests a million times, nothing seems to be wrong.
I have installed and re-installed windows like 4 times. I have tested different ram. I have tried with on-board graphics and with a graphics card.

I included a couple extra minidumps I had sitting in my minidump folder. The one on 5/3/2012 at 11:18 PM is the BSOD I got with Driver Verifier.

A little history, I've never had problems with my computer for over a year now. It's only been recently, as in 3 to 4 months ago, that I've started to get blue screens. At first it wasn't a big problem, then I started to get them more frequently after another month. I thought it was my RAM, so I purchased new RAM, Corsair Vengeance 8GB. I stopped blue screening for a while, then the intensity and frequency of the blue screens went through the roof, literally skyrocketed. I couldn't go a day without getting at LEAST 3 to 4 blue screens. I changed my RAM back to the pair I was using before, and I don't blue screen not nearly as much as I did.

Before I did that though, I formatted my harddrive and re-installed my OS. hoping that would solve any problems. It didn't, I'm still blue screening at least once a day. I've ran memtest on both my sets of ram. Corsair Vengeance failed miserably, while my Corsair XMS3 4GB passed. I'm not sure what to believe is causing my blue screens. Hello all. I've been getting blue screen crashes for months (a check in my event viewer shows they started around January). Only recently did I decide enough was enough and to start looking into them.

Primarily, they manifest as STOP 0x109 errors, but there have also been a couple 0x1e errors and a few others show up once. I tried to enable driver verifier, as my research led me to believe that this was a driver error modifying the windows kernel. However, every time I tried to enable it and reboot, I would get a 0xc9 error. I found the erroneous driver that was causing this issue and deleted it, but upon digging back into the original repeated 0x109 errors I kept coming across the following in WinDbg:

Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt+76e80 )"

A quick google search yielded that this is the NT Kernel Multiprocessor, and that this showing up is something of a red herring - that is to say, it's an inconclusive cause for the issue. So, I'm hoping someone can help me out and point me in the right direction to determine what hardware is causing this issue (as I am now fairly certain it's a hardware issue, since it's not a specific driver being returned).

I really tried to be patient, but man.
It started out as a BSOD every few days or so, but now it's getting more and more frequent.

I even sent it in for warranty repair once, and it doesn't do anything at all. The trip to the nearest Acer Support Center will take me half a day, and I really just can't take it.

I'm at a loss. I leave it to you guys.

When I ran BlueScreenView, it seems that ndis.sys and ntoskrnl.sys show some sources of error.

Hi,
i had a few months without BDOS. But now they are back. I had some in January (about 4 the whole month). But today i had 4-5. I even had a pink one, which i have never seen before. I had one while booting and the last one was a few minutes ago. I recognized, that the Bluescreen was in bad resolution like only VGA mode or something. I need your help again
Its also mentionable that i cant udate my nvidea driver using the nvidea center. So i reinstalled the driver manually last month or so. But its up to date....
Another lue perhaps: Some Bluescreens didnt create a minidump...

It seems Gigabyte doesn't provide support for your motherboard, but there are some drivers that need updating like the nvidia audio and Gigabyte GBB36x Controller drivers.

Please update Driver Reference Table - t_mouse.sys

Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from Nvidia. Be sure the clean install box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver.

Hello,

I've been getting an increasing number of BSODs recently. I haven't been able to spot any pattern in what triggers them, sometimes it can happen when I am afk with nothing of note running, sometimes when using something more demanding such as games. The error messages I get do not seem to be consistent. Sometimes it points to a driver or file such as ntfs.sys, or other. Sometimes a 'crucial thread' has stopped or it's just an unknown error.

I have run chkdsk and memory tests without finding a problem, but it still persists. I'd much appreciate some help in finding out what is behind it all. I've considered upgrading to Win 10 to see if that solves it, but I don't want to upgrade a broken system just to encounter more problems.

Remove ASUS software, it is known for causing bluescreens.



   Warning
Programs that claim to update your drivers install either the wrong or corrupted drivers.
If you have installed any driver with DriverFinder and SlimDrivers, please remove them as it may cause trouble.


If you are using a program like Ccleaner please stop using it while troubleshooting.
This because programs like Ccleaner remove dump files that are needed to troubleshoot.
Or configure Ccleaner to not remove dump files:

I bought a Novatech PC in December last year and after a month began getting BSODs firstly when playing Assassins Creed 3 and then with other new games such as Bioshock Infinite and Battlefield 3. There didn't seem to be any trigger within the games, just a random crash at random times - anything from 30 mins to several hours after starting to play. The only pattern was the games it crashed in and that, after the initial crash and restart, the PC would bluescreen very soon after loading up the game again.

The errors have included:

I've run disc checks, memory tests, GPU stress tests and all have come back negative. The only possible lead was running a CPU test in OCCT (Home) which causes a BSOD pretty quickly every time.

As the PC is still under warranty I also contacted Novatech who suggested I try removing the Creative X-Fi card and front panel as I added them from my old PC. This seemed to help reduce the number of BSODs but they did still occur, particularly in BF3. I've left the card in recently as it's the only way I can use my 5.1 speakers and the BSODs have been much worse - even occurring in Minecraft a couple of times and when I left War Thunder on idle on its menu for an hour or so.

I've attached my SF Diagnostic output below.

Hello all. Since around the middle of October, I have suddenly been receiving BSODs, mostly DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, or IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I have collected the necessary files and will upload them, with one caveat - I cleaned out the dump files a week or so ago, so I only have a few. After trolling forums for a bit, I did a few self diagnostics such as updating drivers, and that seems to have reduced the frequency. I was getting them at least once a day, but after updating the Razer Synapse program by cleanly uninstalling and reinstalling, I was able to knock a lot of it out.

I updated to Windows 10 basically the day it was released, and have not really had any problems up until this point. I generally use this computer for gaming, but it does also serve as a home office PC as well. I am very careful as to what files I will allow on my PC, and I have run multiple virus scans/Windows Defender scans. The only thing that I have seen it pick up is a false positive on Oblivion.exe (game) due to modding the EXE to be LAA. Other than that it is clean.

I also ran SeaTools, and that came back clear. I have not run chkdsk yet, but will probably run that if necessary. The only new hardware that I can recall adding in the past few months would be the Microsoft Xbox One Wireless Adapter, back near the end of October/beginning of November.

Hi guys, my computer has been having blue screens for a while now. I don't remember exactly when it started, but I've been trying to fix it for about a month now. I cannot figure out what is causing it or how to go about fixing it. Everything I have done so far does not seemed to have helped at all.

The blue screens happen seemingly randomly. They happen every few hours, sometimes they can happen only minutes after restarting. I could be playing a game, idling at my desktop, or watching a video. I have gotten many different error messages from them as well.

I have done a fresh install of windows on my hard drive, and my ssd. I tested my ram for 8 cycles with no errors back. I swapped my video card with an older one, and I still got the same random blue screens after all of it.

I realize the title of this thread is a little out there, I wasn't quite sure how to best describe what I've been dealing with but, yes, I have been dealing with this issue for multiple months at this point. Anyway, it occurred to me that being able to read dump files might give me some more insight into the problems I've been having. However, try as I might, I have found no resources on how to actually read and decipher these files for myself, just a lot of blog posts and videos about how to generate dump files or read the BSoD as it's actually happening, which is extremely unhelpful, as you might have experienced yourself. So, I decided to bite the bullet and actually make a post on the forums here.

I suspect that the issue is related to my GPU. It's one of the "founding members" of my rig, so to speak, so it's been chugging along for around four and a half years at this point, and I've had some issues over time, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the problem. Plus, it probably ought to be replaced at this point anyway. But, just in case, I decided to triple check and make sure I wasn't buying something I didn't need. I'd hate to get a new GPU only to still have the same problems, or worse, end up having whatever is causing these problems now ruin my brand new tech.

The BDODs appear to be of multiple types.
Motherboard, RAM, wireless card and SSD were all replaced in early October and system completely reinstalled but BSODs continue. They are more likely to occur 1-2 min after waking from sleep, but recently also occurred when the system is just sitting.

Having a TON of problems with my wireless I hooked up. M laptop does not recognize wireless OR the LAN anymore. IT says "Unidentified Network" My laptop connects to the network but the network doesn't connect to the internet. Before I got it and added a password it worked fine! Except it said

I thought IP Routing had to be enabled but I don't know how to do so.

I’ve been plagued by chronic and unpredictable BSODs since day one of using my Toshiba Satellite P70-A. I’ve found and tried countless solutions; none have worked. Apologies for the length of the case history below, but I’d rather explain as much as I can to avoid confusion later.

The lappy came with Windows 8 when I first bought it online (mint condition). I immediately swapped for Windows 7, then ran SlimDrivers and Windows Update until no new updates were found. Laptop is kept on automatic updates.

For privacy/security reasons, the Windows 7 partition is encrypted with TrueCrypt. Plenty of others have done the same without issue, so I doubt that’s the problem.

Almost at once, the computer began to BSOD on occasion and has continued ever since, despite numerous updates since. The crashes occur at random, at least once every 24 hours of continued operation or so, though often sooner. The error codes listed vary and have included (from memory) “DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL” and “MEMORY_MANAGEMENT”.

Use of Driver Verifier (enabling all checks on all drivers) results in near-instant BSODs during start-up (“A device attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. The faulty driver currently on the kernel stack must be replaced”, error code 0x000000c4). I had to disable Driver Verifier in Safe Mode to get it to stop crashing the system before it could finish loading.

Up until a week ago my PC was running great with almost no issues at all (The only small issue was my second hard drive sometimes disconnected for no reason). I cannot be specific but one day I had multiple driver fails from my GPU, sadly cannot remember what they said, could of said something like kernel driver... but that would be a guess.

Since then I thought my issue was driver related so I quickly downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia, the GTA 5 Update, I believe it was called to my PC to solve.

However this did not fix the issue and instead seemed to only make the issue much, much worse.

DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION - that was my first BOSD error code and this happened many times. I also suffered crashes on logging in, screen freezes and artefacts on my screen. Since I have don't 4 fresh windows installs to solve the issue - but failed.

Hello everyone,

So, I built a PC last year and it has been running (relatively) fine for most of the time. However, about 2 months ago (around the time I bought a new video card) I began getting BSOD. Most of the time, I get these crashes while playing games. Specifically, it would often crash when I was playing Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Yesterday, I updated my video card drivers, and today I got 2 BSODs withing roughly 2 hours of playing games online. This is the most frequent amount of BSODs I have seen since building the PC, and I believe now they must be driver related.

A few weeks ago I downloaded a program called BlueScreenView to keep track of the BSOD error codes. Checking out the codes I see 3 different errors so I'm not sure if they are all interrelated or what. I'll copy/past the error codes at the bottom of this post. If anybody has any ideas for me, I'd really appreciate it.

Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
Download 314.22 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:
Also install Asmedia USB 3.0 Driver V1.14.3.0 from ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download SABERTOOTH Z77

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
