Code 12 in xp on a Pci to Pci bridge, Recieve a code 12 error with video card

Q: Code 12 in xp on a Pci to Pci bridge, Recieve a code 12 error with video card

I have a HP 522c AMD Athlon 2000+, running windows xp. There is an integrated video card that went bad. So in installed an AGP video card it is a 3D Prophet 4000XT 32 MB. Now that the card is installed when I have it activated there is a code 12 on one of the pci to pci bridges so that my network card in the other pci slots will not work. I have tried the network card on other computers and it works fine, i have also tried the video card and it works fine. I also tried other items in the pci slots while the agp card is in(modem, sound card) and i still recieve the same error. The card works when a pci bridge is enabled but only with the VGAsave driver and with very low quality. When i check the device manager while both pci to pci bridges are enabled, when i can only run the VGAsave driver, it says the there is a conflict under the I/O range with the VGAsave and an Pci to Pci bridge. Any windows updates just delets the pci to pci bridge listed in the device manager. And i have tried all the drivers i could from AMD, HP, Hercules. Any help would be welcomed on how to fix this.

Preferred Solution: Code 12 in xp on a Pci to Pci bridge, Recieve a code 12 error with video card

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Code 12 in xp on a Pci to Pci bridge, Recieve a code 12 error with video card

your hp box is not only engineered by hp (who tend to focus on low assembly costs) but is an oem build, thus severely limiting your options. a suggested next step would be to attempt to poke around in the bios setup utility and/or to try out a wider variety of cards/slot configurations. good luck.

Before I state my issues I will list what I'm running and what I'm trying to accomplish.

I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit edition, not the Beta or RC. I have 3 video cards in my possession (listed below).
- (PCIe) Evga GTX260
- (PCI) Evga 9400GT
- (PCI) Evga Fx5500
Out of those 3 cards I only use the GTX260 and the 9400GT. I had to 'retire' the Fx5500 because the latest WHQL (certified) drivers only provide support as far down as the "6 series" Nvidia cards. Unfortunately the Fx5500 is a "5 series" and falls below that line. I have already tried to use the GTX260 and Fx5500 in previous versions of Windows (XP and Vista), but there is no way to download and install two separate drivers for two of the same make of video card - you'll get nothing but errors. There is the option of going to a place like guru3d.com and downloading a custom supported driver that covers both the GTX260 and Fx5500, but the drivers are not certified and lack support. Therefore, I purchased and now use the 9400GT which is covered under the drivers for the GTX260 and eliminates the need for messing around with custom drivers. Also, the 9400GT has a better graphics processor and more memory than the Fx5500, so it was time to upgrade anyway.

Now that you have some background info here is my issue? Whenever I install the 9400GT I get a second 'pci-to-pci bridge' entry (the other entry has no errors) that shows up under 'System Devices' in the Device Manager. The second... Read more

My boss is having an issue with outlook.

When outlook is opened it works fine, all is well he can send and receive emails, and gets no errors. After an undetermined amount of time the send & receive function (the button as well as the menu location & auto send receive) just stop working. There is no error code, no anything. it just stops working. We have run repair several times to no avail, I am also unable to find anyone with an issue quite like this one.

Any help you could give would be much appreciated.

Alright, After months of waiting I've finally got the parts I needed to upgrade/get my rig running again. The problem I'm having at this moment is my computer completely froze, (Then I hit reboot) and the resolution had changed to 1280x1024. I turned my computer off and took the side off and took out my Graphics card, I then changed it to the other Graphics Card slot and booted back up. It ran fine. I did some research into the errors I got which where

Driver Power State failure(Which I always happened when coming out of sleep mode (I've turned sleep mode off and no longer receive this error))
DPC Watchdog Violation (Which is what came up the first time my Graphics card didn't run properly (Correct resolution))

So now, when I go into device manager, there's a yellow explanation mark by my Nvidia 8800GT and it says there's a Code 43 Error.

I don't know what's causing this or how to fix it.

Some Background: About 5+months ago I spilt a liquid into this machine and fried my MOBO. Since then I've bought an M5a99x evo Motherboard, 8gb 1600mhz RAM and an AMD 6 core 3.3Ghz Processor. I'm running a 500GB Sata 3gbs HDD and an 8800GT with a 750w PSU with 50a on the 12v rail.

I don't have an OS as funds are really low, so thats why I've given Windows 8 a try, ontop of that, I want to upgrade my HDD and GPU (-->560ti)

Any help would be really great, thank you.
(Will supply any info requested, just bare with me, thanks)

I have a pretty old computer, and since I may have it for another year or two, I decided to buy a graphics card for it so I could play games that aren't quite as old as the ones in my current collection. I bought a PowerColor 24PRO 256M PCI card, since it seems the best I can get for a computer like mine.

The problem I have is that after installing it and the drivers, it won't run because, "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)". I checked both in the Device Manager and in System Information for possible conflicts, nothing, the card seems to have I/O, IRQ, and Memory dedicated to it and not to other devices. Does anybody have any idea why there aren't enough free resources?

A:Video Card will not work, Error Code 12

I tried doing a clean install (for the third time or so). Uninstalled everything, ran Driver Cleaner, rebooted, ran driver cleaner again, disabled as many devices as I could spare (not many) and then rebooted again. I ran through the installation process, downloading the ATI drivers and such, rebooted, and the card still says it doesn't have enough resources.

Also, earlier I disabled VGASave because it showed as conflicting with the PCI-to-PCI connection which seemed related to the card. The reason I can see anything at all is the integrated Intel card. I had disabled that before, to see if it worked, and it didn't, so I turned it back on so I could try disabling VGASave.

So, for preparation for the new warhammer: age of reckoning I purchased a new video card to bring my specs up to run the game nice.

I got a Geforce 8600GT 512mb 128-bit DDR3 card. Im gonna run down what I did.

1. switched the cards
2. logged on, there was a automatic software update, and Installed the drivers as well off the CD (like a nub) and also a service package for vista came up for the drivers for the new card.
3. I was unable to log into any game due to a insufficient card, so I went and checked the card in Device Manager. Sure enough a Code 19 error: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged.

things i've tried: Uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling drivers from the producer of the card (ASUS) and the card developer (nVidia) in both safe mode and regular mode. Ive system restored to the last time the registry was configured correctly, ran a registry defrag and scan, system repair with the hardrive, and I've also swapped my old card back in and it has the same error.

So me and my friends came to the conclusion that it was a deep seeded problem with the drivers when I installed drivers for XP (we think thats what the CD was for) while I am running Vista. The problem is I dont know how to fix it...please help!

Also in addition to these problems what has started happening in conjunction with this is my taskbar and icons are disappearing and whenever I log in I get a runt... Read more

All right Well I have been trying for awhile to get this card to work with dual video, I have an AGP Fx 5200 running at 8x 128mb ram. My MB is a K8V. Now In xp I tried to install an older card just to have for another monitor nothing big.
XP detects it and install the driver "card is a Cirrus Logic 5440 older card PCI" it gets an error then of This device cannot start. (Code 10). I think it is an IRQ error so I tried moving it to another PCI slot. Still the error, I then tired unplugging all other cards and usb devices, still no good. I tried setting some options in BIOS but everything I have tried still has not worked. Just don't know if maybe the card is just old and that is why. Any help would be good.

BTW. In Linux and BSD the dual display I believe does work because I get this option with no error. Odd

Hi all,

For past month, ive had issue with unseated HDD. When it first happened, I ran diagnostics in BIOS which didnt recognise a HDD and also gave me video card error code 2000-0332 "video memory integrity test discrepancy".
I took out HDD and slotted it back in. Laptop booted windows fine. Its happened on and off for past month but now seems to be permanent. Tried using the other HDD dock but it still wont recognise the drive. Basically is it likely that the HDD is fried? Also, I am hoping that the fact I can load in BIOS is a sign that the motherboard is fine, would that be an accurate assumption?
Edit - can stripped screws be removed with the right pliers?

I'm adding a video card (a Geforce 9400GT 512MB pci-e 2.0 to a Dell Optiplex 320 computer. This should have been a 10-15 minute job but I've spent a good 8 hours or so trying to resolve this issue.

The computer had on-board integrated video so I disabled those drivers, turned off the computer, plugged in the new video card into the pci-e slot, fired it up, video showed up while plugged into the video card so I logged into windows and then tried to install the drivers. The disc that came with the video card says "No supported hardware is found in your system." I downloaded the most recent drivers from the NVidia site and it said the same thing. I checked the current video adapter being used and it said "VGAsave" so I looked in device manager and there's an ! next to "PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge." I figure this is the problem and why the video card isn't recognized so I look at the properties for that and it says "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)"

I've done a lot of research and reading but I can't find any solution to this. I tried to uninstall the integrated video and completely get rid of the drivers using a driver sweeper program and that didn't work. The only setting in the BIOS for video is to either have "Auto" or "Onboard". I have it set to Auto but there is no way to disable the onboard video card within the BIOS. I've u... Read more

Ok - I'm trying to fix my friends' computer - Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975 running Windows 7 32-bit

Windows firewall is off and I need to "Update Firewall Settings". When I click use recommended settings, I get a message that says it "can't change some of your settings. Error code 0x80070424" I get the same thing when I click on "Turn Windows Firewall on or off" and "Restore Defaults"

When I click on "Advanced Settings" I get "There was an error opening the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap-in" followed by it "failed to load. Restart the Windows Firewall service on the computer you are managing. Error code 0x6D9."

I scanned the computer using both Avast and Microsoft Safety Scanner (full scan and took over 2 hours) - no infections or issues found

I installed all Microsoft updates and followed suggested restarts.

I ran Microsoft Fix It and I get a message that the firewall isn't running or stopped and it can't be fixed.

I have gone into services as an administrator to try and start Windows Firewall...it isn't there - not in the list of services (local)

I also used SlimDrivers to update all the drivers on the computer.

What I am not seeing is how to uninstall and reinstall Windows Firewall...any other program or hardware issue, that would seem to be the easiest solution - but I have yet to see how to do that with Windows Firewall.

I even started the computer in safe mode... Read more

I tried to install a Graphics Card (ASUS EXTREME N5750 GEFORE PCI Express) on my PC and did not work. Here is my story:

First, my computer is an IBM thinkcenter A51P as follows:
- IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4 Processor 530 with HT Technology
- Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 (onboard)
- 1 slot for PCI Express x 16
- Windows XP Home

So, I followed the normal procedure of:
1- disabled the onboard video card
2- shutdown computer
3- Install the new ASUS PCIX card
4- reboot and change in the BIOS the video to PEG (this is the setting for AGP/PCI express)
5- Install the drivers

The problme is the drivers of the video cards never kick in.

If I check the display properties/settings/advanced/adapter, it's showing the VGA adapter as being the driver (the generic windows display adapter).

If I check the device manager, I can see my card installed in the display adapters. It is recognized as ASUS extreme... but has this yellow exclamation mark indicating a problem with the driver. If I check the propertires, I get the following error code:
"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."

In the device manager, if you sort by IRQs, only the ASUS is on IRQ 5. If you sort by I/O, then the VGA adaptor and a certain intel PCI root share the same memory with ASUS card (whatever that mean).

I called IBM tech support but they could not help. I asked them i... Read more

Hello everyone, the last couple of days I've struggled with updating Windows but after a clean install it finally managed to do it. This however did not fix my original problem which was that my video card's drivers weren't recognized anymore and my video card stopped working.
I have a laptop with two Video Cards (switches between them according to the Graphics needed at anytime) as is not that uncommon I suppose. After the clean install and updating of windows I still got a pop up message that my video card has been stopped working. When I check under Device Manager it shows that both video cards have stopped working with error code 43. I have the following two video cards:
- AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250
- AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series
After the clean install I updated my drivers to the recommended version (14.2 I think). I did a bit of googling before coming here and I came across some suggestions that I should update my Chipset Drivers. As I understand it these chipset drivers are the drivers for my motherboard and updating them could fix the problem. After that I downloaded CPU-Z to see what motherboard I have:
- Chipset: AMD 785GX
- Southbridge: AMD SB800
I tried looking for these chipset drivers, but can't find them on the AMD website (which is horrendous to navigate by the way) and am therefore a bit stuck. My questions to you are:
- Will updating my Chipset Drivers help with my problem?

Hello,Some third party programs can affect the Windows Update service. If you are running any third party applications such as Spyblocker, Internet or web accelerators (programs designed to boost the speed of the Internet connection), security or anti-virus programs (Norton, McAfee, etc.), I recommend you temporarily disable or uninstall them and then try accessing Windows Update later. If the problem still happens, try the following steps:Rename the Windows Update Softwaredistribution folder================================================1. Close all the open windows. 2. Click "Start", click "All programs", and click "Accessories". 3. Right-click "Command Prompt", and click "Run as administrator".4. In the "Administrator: Command Prompt" window, type in "net stop WuAuServ" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Note: Please look at the cmd window and make sure it says that it was successfully stopped before we try to rename the folder. However, if it fails, please let me know before performing any further steps and include any error messages you may have received when it failed.
5. Click "Start", in the "Start Search" box, type in "%windir%" (without the quotes) and press Enter.6. In the opened folder, look for the folder named "SoftwareDistribution".7. Right-click on the folder, select "Rename" and type "SDold" (without the quotes) to rename this ... Read more

I am completely stumped by this problem. I will do my best to explain it and see what you fine folks can do.

I had an older bluetooth dongle, off-brand model, 2010-2011 year, that I installed on my new desktop computer. It worked, but sound quality on my Sony Dr-BT101 headset wasn't great. It worked well with my bluetooth-enabled phones and tablets, so I suspected the dongle. I bought a CSR8510 dongle, which came with a CSR Cambridge Radio Harmony software stack. I installed the software, and turned on the headset, paired it, but no sound came out of the headset. I went to Sound, saw no entries. Went to device managers and saw the parts in yellow. I tried to update the driver but all I got was Code 18 error and this weird message in the picture. I clicked on properties and saw this message.

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.

I am stumped. I've tried uninstalling, re-installing, installing other Bluetooth drivers, waving a magic wand, none of it has worked. I'm thinking it's a problem with the Registry, but I am not sure how to proceed.

Any ideas?

A:Bizarre Bluetooth driver problem (Code 18 and Code 28 error)

Give this a try. It's free.
You do need to resolve those Other devices category issues.

Hi,I'm having an issue trying to get a video card working with my Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate installation. I had a Nvidia 7900GTX originally and I couldn't get it to work (kept giving me code 43), so I bought a new Nvidia 210 video card..and the same code keeps occurring. Here's what I've done:-Tried both PCI slots on the motherboard-Tried letting Windows Update find and install drivers automatically-Stopped Windows from automatically installing drivers and installed newest drivers from nvidia.com-Let Windows Update install drivers then updated drivers from nvidia.com-Completely removed all video drivers with Windows and Driver Sweeper and then re-installed nvidia.com driversI'm at a complete lost. I am POSITIVE this is NOT a hardware issue. It has to be a driver issue...somehow I can't get the right configuration. Here's my specs:Abit AN8 Fatality SLI MotherboardAMD 400+ CPUNvidia 210 Video Card (also tried Nvidia 7900GTX card)2GB RAM320GB Sata HDDAntec 500w PSUI'm thinking about switching to Windows XP and screwing Windows 7. Funny thing is, I've never had this issue with my other desktop and my HD 4850.

A:Video Card Problem - Code 43 (Windows has stopped this device..)

Welcome to Bleepingcomputer. Here is an explanation for code 43 from Microsoft.Code 43Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)Recommended resolution:One of the drivers controlling the device notified the operating system that the device failed in some manner. If you have already run the Troubleshooting Wizard, you might want to check the hardware documentation for more information about diagnosing the problem. With that being said let me check if I can find a possible solution to your issue.Bruce.

I was taking a desktop computer into my work area to try to fix it.
I glanced at my main computer and saw that everything was on - even programs were up.
As I was working about a minute later, I glanced over again, and saw a blank screen .
Everything on the computer was running - hard drive, usb devices functioning, wireless keyboard receiver picking up signals from the keyboard (including Numlock on and off)

So (Thinking the hard drive crashed for some reason) I manualy restarted the computer, with the same blank screen. I turned it off completely and inserted my PCI bios analyzer card.
It progresses through post as normal, but stops with an error code (on the card) of "26". I can then hear the computer continue its boot up sequence (judging by hard drive activity) until I beleive it arives at the login screen.
At that point, I can enable and disable Num Lock on my keyboard, so I beleive the computer is just skipping the video section of its POST.

I looked "26" up in the analyzer book, and it says this:
"Enable slots 6; Initialize slot 6. Test protected mode exceptions."

This is AGP video - I took the default one out and swapped it for a known-working one. Same Result, same code.
I stuck a PCI video card in - same results.
When there is no video card in, I get these beeps:
________ _ _ : One long, 2 short

Any idea what to do?
If more information is needed, I can provide it.

This is urgent - All help appreciated.

A:Urgent: No Video - Error Code 26

First the easy part. The beep codes are just confirming what you already know--that there's no video card in. So that's no help.

As for the rest I'll be glad to bow out if someone tells me I'm totally wrong Slots=PCI slots?

Two things to try. Reset CMOS with the jumper on the motherboard.
Take out all add in cards except the video card.

This is a desktop PC with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit installed. I'm trying to repair with the disk it was installed with originally. The reason for attempting the repair is that the System File Checker says there are files that it could not repair when I ran it. I ran it originally because I couldn't install or uninstall anything. I would get an error: This application was unable to start correctly. With error message (0xC0000006)

Now trying to repair Windows 7 with the upgrade option I get:
Windows was unable to create a required installation folder. Please reconfigure your boot.wim to use the flag 9 settings for the first image and restart your installation. Error Code: 0x803002f

Any help greatly appreciated....

A:Started with error code 0xC0000006 and now I have Error Code: 0x803002

You may need to attempt SFC up to 3 times to repair damaged System Files. But first disinfect per Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7. If there is any problem go with the bootable scans in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start as the OS may be in the death grip of infection.

Then SFC may run better from the Win7 installation media or System Repair Disk Command Line: SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

If these fail then you can try the Repair Install after establishing a Clean Boot per Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.

But you may be better off copying out your files to quarantine to follow these same steps for a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which compiles everything that works best in tens of thousands of installs we've helped with here.

Hi All,
I'm new here and I think I messed up the post that I made. I had meant to say that all of a sudden I can't use windows installer service I get error code 8007641 or error code 641. I'm unsure why I'm not able to use windows installer anymore and I'm not able to get valuable updates from windows without it. Has anyone else ever had this problem and if so, were they able to come up with a solution? Thank you. This is my first day on the site and unsure how to get around on it, but it seems like it's an exciting site and I'm looking forward to using it.

First of all try to check if ALT+F10 at boot take you to windows recovery and you can reach command prompt from there:troubleshoot-advanced options- command prompt (if this works, go to point 4, if not point 1)1. create a vanilla Windows 8.1 installation media from this link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media2. Once you boot using the Windows installation disc, on the Windows 8.x installation window, click on Repair your computer.3. Click on Troubleshoot and in the Advanced options. First thing you may try is the Automatic Repair.4. If that does not help, then select Command Prompt. Enter the following four commands into the prompt.bootrec /fixmbrbootrec /fixbootbootrec /scanosbootrec /rebuildbcdOnce the command completes, restart the computer.

No-one replied to this post and so the problem was never fixed.
(The updates continued to fail downloading or installing)
I upgraded to Windows 10 Home and thankfully didn't need to have the updates installed to upgrade.

Back in April this year I downloaded two important updates:

1) Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 x64-based Systems (KB3023222)

2) Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 x64-based Systems (KB3032663)

However during the installation I encountered Error Code: 80073712
I tryed the installation again without anything else open and still the same result
I tryed the installation again having restarted and still the same result
I tryed the installation again after running the DISM Tool and still the same result

Yesterday (17/7/15) I tryed to download another important update:

1) Security Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB3004365)

However during the download I encountered Error Code: 800F081F
I tryed everything that I tryed previously and still the same result

I searched around and both of these error codes apparently mean that a file needed by Windows Update is either damaged or missing

I thought I might as-well start a thread about it on these forums as not being able to download/install security updates isn't a good thing

Please Reply!

Error Code C00D1199 (aka: code 80040265) is an error message that can be displayed in several different ways and can be worded different as well, but it all refers to this error message originally posted as message 80040265.

There were a few posts on here about them, but many of the threads seemed to be closed. I just noticed that I have gone through all of the motions and really tried, but no pickle here....well, there might be a pickle, but it is the kind of pickle you get stuck in and is not cool whatsoever.

Here is what I have done:

1. Made sure that the format was supported with windows media player. It was, as it is an .avi, so no problems there.

Here are the types that are compatible:
.au and .snd
.aif, .aifc, and .aiff
.mp3 and .m3u
.mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2, .mpa, .mpe, .mp2v, and .mpv2
.mid, .midi, and .rmi
.avi and .wav
.asf, .asx, .wax, .wm, .wma, .wmd, .wmp, .wmv, .wmx, .wpl, and .wvx
2. I made sure that other .avi's I have in my collection were working properly with the WMP (Windows Media Player). They were, just not the ones I was trying to fix, of course..

3. I made a sandwich and drank some Yoohoo.

4. Installed a sturdy set of codecs with DivX to ensure that that was not it. I know I had to do it before, but I recently cleaned and started my PC from scratch again, so the previous codecs were not there.

5.Made sure all of my audio devices and drivers were updated and installed properly-for the most part-which I ... Read more

A:Error Code C00D1199 (aka: code 80040265)
