I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently purchased a new HP Pavilion x360 with touchscreen (approximately two weeks ago). The touch screen stopped working. Root causes may be plugging in with HDMI into TV or switching to tablet mode. Under hardware and software in the control panel, I only have the following options: devices and printers,autoplay, sound, power options, display (make text smaller/larger, adjust screen resolution, how to correct monitor flicker), windows mobility center, intel graphic settings, HPCoolSEnse, Energy STAR, Interl Rapid STorage Technology, Synaptics Clickpad, and B&O audio control. I have tried everything I can find online, yet nothing has fixed the problem.

My Ideapad S415 touch screen has suddenly stopped working.  I've had a tech connect to my PC and try a BIOS reload of default settings, plus unistalling all "HID" devices in Device Manager with no resolution.  I've also tried a system restore with no luck. The system properties does see the touch capability. Suggestions? Thanks.

First do a Power Drain 
     (If the battery is removable)
            Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
               Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,
                  If not
         I suggest you contact Lenovo Technical Team about the Issue as this may be a device detection issue.

My touch screen on my HP Pavilion works for a few minutes after I disconnect and reconnect the touch option, but stops working after a few minutes.  I have a Windows 10 operating system.  Any suggestions?  The computer was purchased in the fall of 2015.

When I purchased this device less than 2 months ago it was then loaded with Windows 8.1 64 bit. I was then offered to upgrade to Windows 10 64 bit. Since the upgrade the touchscreen will not work. I have tried all of the recomended troubleshooting on your site. I have also made sure that all drivers as well as the os is up to date. Please fix. The reason that I purchased this all in one device was because of the touch screen.

I have an HP c2k73ua#aba and the touch screen just stopped working. It does not show up in device manager unless I look for hidden devices. Also in the USB there is an error (unknownUBS device device discriptor reqquest failed) I am not sure if this has anything to do with it.

My touch screen stopped working about 2 days ago. The computer is updated, I ran the HP support and nothing happened. I ran also 2 tests, those that you can enter using F2. Everything seemed to be fine but it simply doesn't work, no matter if it is in PC or tablet mode. The result is the same.

  Hi @natalia1818, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I read from your posts that you are having an issue with your HP Pavilion 11x360 PC Notebook and the Touchscreen not working correctly. You might need to check that the Touchscreen is enabled on the Notebook. Here is a listing on how to do that: Press the Windows logo key + X.Select Device Manager from the list.Click the little arrow next to Human Interface Devices to expand the list.Click the touch screen driverRight-click, and select enable from the list.Confirm you want to enable. You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook. I suggest at least 4 days ago as it will make sure to catch what changed the settings. When performing a System restore please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices as they can cause issues. Please let me know how this goes. If this post helps you to resolve the issue you can click the Thumbs up icon to show gratitude! Thanks.

Hi friends,New to the forum, and I'm hoping someone has a solution for me. I have been having an issue with my touchscreen... it doesn't respond at all. It had been working, and while I don't know exactly when it stopped, it's not working now. My HP Pavillion laptop touch screen stopped working several months ago and I have not been able to fix it. I have gone into the device manager as I have seen on other forums and my touch screen didnt even show up under human interfacing. How can I get my touch screen to work again without having to take it in? I am not super tech savvy. I don't recall doing an update before it stopped working.

My touch screen stopped working about a year after I bought this computer. Right before it stopped working completely random items started opening on the computer as if there was a phantom clicking on things. I thought it was a virus but none was ever found by many anti-virus scans and nothing else in the computer was harmed. I'm leaning more to thinking that it is a hardware issue. Any help is apprecaited!  Thanks!

Touch screen worked when we got the laptop a week ago. Hello! Just recently (within the last week or so) my touch screen has been acting up. I can sometimes click on things - such as switched between tabs. But sometimes when I click it will highlight a word on the screen instead of taking me to the link I'd like. On top of that, I'm completely unable to scroll using my touch screen. I have to use the mouse pad or the arrows on the keyboard. I'm still able to use the mousepad for everything so it isn't like the laptop doesn't function, but it's irritating that I can't use the tablet mode. I bought this model so I could use it in both laptop and tablet mode. I'd really appreciate it if someone helped me solve this issue.

I have a Lenovo 700 running windows 10 64 bit.Recently the screen went black and I had to reboot the laptop which at first wouldn't reboot but eventually did.   This happened twice.  There was nothing in the event  in log other than me shutting the laptop down unexpectedly.Since then it has been stable.  However, the touchscreen no longer works.System information states that there is no touch input.  See image.Device manager for human interface looks like this.  The only error in the device  manager is a usb error which i can't work out.  see image.   Things i have tried;1.    rebooted serveral times.2.    Run trouble shooter - detects usb error but once you select that it says all is ok   3.    Checked event  logs4.    Unistalled usb device5.    Uninstalled HID-complient Vendor defined device Last update was 2nd of March 2019 for KB4023057. Which improves disk cleanup.Tablet mode does not enable touch screen .Thanks to anyone who has any ideas on how to restore it or what the issue isErick

HP ENVY m6-n012dx Notebook PC My touch screen has worked for 3 years now. I have updated from Windows 7 to 8 to 10. Through all the updates, I have had no issues with the touch screen. Now, all of a sudden with no warning signs, the touch screen is GONE! The notebook appears to not be a touch screen when I know it is. I have looked for the driver, and there is nothing there. I am not having any other problems (i.e. touch pad is fine). HELP! I need the touch screen back!

I've had nothing but problems since my computer updated to windows 10, sadly I missed deadline to go back to windows 8.1. The touch screen barely worked after the update and has stopped working all together now. I've tried all trouble shooting suggested. After trouble shooting tried to call for support only to find out I'd have to pay because my computer is over 12 months old.

My laptop's touch screen function stopped working just a while ago. When I shut down my laptop, tere's this windows update that lasted for more or less an hour. After that, the touch screen just stopped working. Note that there hasn't been any program installation prior to the antivirus uninstallation - all programs and files contained in the laptop is as it was the moment I bought it. *Laptop's running Windows 8 Single Language

I have had this system for around 3 weeks, and today the touch screen just stopped working for no apparent reason.
I have barely used the system since I received it (have been away), and so it is very unlikely it is due to anything I have done (I've installed virtually nothing except Microsoft Office).
I am reluctant to go fiddling with BIOS drivers, etc, given the repercussions that has had for some people elsewhere on this forum.
Any ideas please?
(I must admit I am disappointed to be having numerous issues in a top of the range computer at a premium price.)

Last week (after a Windows update?) my Envy touch screen stopped working. I've read the instructions to uninstall / reinstall the drivers; however, in my list of "Human Interface Drivers" there are no drivers related to the touch screen (the only two are HID-compliant wireless radio and wireless button driver, nothing else). So my question - where do I go to FIND and INSTALL the correct driver for the touch screen? I assume that the missing drivers are the problem.  Searching for my laptop model and going to the available drivers, there is nothing there for a touch screen (?). I also tried to perform the UEFI Hardware Diagnostics tests to detect problems with the touch screen hardware -- looking under "Component Tests" there isn't even an entry for "Touch Screen". Help! I love having a touch screen and since it stopped working, I am no longer using my personal laptop. Thank you

This morning my laptop started bugging out, it shows two mouse on the screen on in the bottom corner that is just there and the mouse I am using starts flashing and going in and out. Also there are about 4 clear bubbles that just appear on the left hand side of my screen,I can't click on them and they don't do anything I don't know why they are there. My laptop's touch screen doesn't work after updating my drivers to date. I opened the Tablet PC Setting, it says 'There is no pen or touch input available for this display' . (I used Shorcut to open the setting because the Tablet PC Setting disappeared in the control panel along with the functionality of the touchscreen). Try the steps below and let us know if issue persists.
1. "Press Windows" key +"C" to select the search option
2. In the search box type "Device Manager" and click on it.
3. Select the "Human Interface Devices", in that right click on "HID-compliant touch screen" and select "Uninstall"
4. It will display the warning message "you are about to uninstall this device from your system" click ok
5. Restart your computer and the driver should install on its own.
Check for the functionality and let me know if issue persists.

I even did a restoration of the whole computer and the touch screen hasn't started working. I started having issues when I checked into the Device Manager and noticed that under Human Interface Devices the HID Touch screen (along with a few under it) were marked as "hidden". When I did the restore I thought it would fix the problem but it only seemed to completely get rid of it?
Instead of it being marked as hidden the only things I have under Human Interface Devices is the two options for Airplane Mode Switch. 

There is no touch so Calibrate isn't effective
The pen and touch option keeps saying it is unavailable
Turning it off and on doesn't work

So my pavilion was a gift back in August 2015 and about a month later the touchscreen stoped working at first I thught I had turned something off but it wasn't that. I upgraded to windows 10 thinking it would solve any issues but it didn't. Ive tried everything. Also about a two days ago my pc bagan to disconnect from the wifi at random now I know something is wrong. It was purchased at Famsa so i don't really know. I've check the properties and the touch calibration isn't even there. I've kept it clean and has no visible damage.Please I need the touch ability for school and there's no point in having bought a touch screen computer if it doesn't even work properly.

Hi, I have a Satellite U840t-103.

The touch screen stopped working a little while ago.
I just don't know why.

I think I may have been fiddling with the project button, but I still can't make it work again.

Please help.

Hi

The touch screen does not require any special Toshiba drivers.
The driver is already part of the Windows 8 / 8.1
Therefore I don?t think there is some software problem but of course, I would recommend you to recover the notebook back to factory settings using the Toshiba recovery disk just to check if this procedure would enable the touch screen functionality once again.

This is an first common procedure in case something wrong would happen to the notebook or the system.

But if system recovery doesn?t help, the notebook needs to be checked by authorized service provider for possible hardware malfunction. But let?s hope, the recovery procedure would solve your problem.

In the first week with my Y700, sometimes, when the pc started, the touch screen just didn`t work and i had to reboot in order to use this functionality. Now, there`s nothing i can do to use the touch, it`s like the computer never had a touchscreen.Looking in device manager i haven`t found anything related to the touch interface but there is a " Unknow USB Device" in Universal Serial Bus controllers tab.What shall i do?

This computer is not even a week old. When this first happened I saw that on the bottom side of the laptop were two switches, one for the battery and I guess one for the touch screen, by the way there is not literature on what so ever, and after flipping the switch the touch screen worked perfectly for about a day. Now it has stopped working again, but the switch is in the correct position. All of my drivers are up to date. I am so frustrated with this. the mouse works fine, it is just the touch screen. Please, someone tell me you have had a similar issue with this series of the ideapad and that you have been able to fix it, I really don't want to have to send it in as I use it everyday for work.

     Both of those "switches" on the bottom are for the battery. One is a spring loaded switch to open battery, after you push the other one into the open position. This is how you remove the battery, and have nothing to do with the Touch Screen.
 
      Did you delete any of the software that came with your system? The easiest thing you could do is backup your user files to a CD, or some external hard drive, then reset your system using the system recovery. See page 20 of the user guide for the recovery routine. Make sure you have a backup of your user files, before attempting the recovery, as it will set up your system like new. This should solve your problem, but if it doesn't, please post back with further information.

The touchscreen on my Flex 15 stopped working. I am not sure exactly when, but in the last few months.  I am already on Win10, and it has worked fine since the Win10 upgrade over a year ago.  In Device Manager, I can see the HID Touch Screen entry.  I tried uninstalling and deleting it, followed by a restart.  Reinstalled itself on start-up, but no joy.  It claims to be working.   I have seen other similar posts saying to delete entries under Mice... but I don't see any Touch Screen entries there.Interestingly, I see most of the drivers have Event dates of 2-Jul 2017, saying "Device migrated". I am suspecting some delightful Micorsoft "improvement" on that date may have been the cuplrit, but I also feel like the touch screen may have been working after that date.  Unfortunately, I don't use the touch screen very often, but I DO need it now and then. Thoughts?
