Qosmio E10 CFSServ Listen Error & Recv InitConnect Error appears on startup

Q: Qosmio E10 CFSServ Listen Error & Recv InitConnect Error appears on startup

This message now appears on an otherwise excellent computer.

Cannot connect to wireless broadband (I'm doing this on my Equium P200D)

Any ideas. I've tried the Toshiba help to no avail.

Preferred Solution: Qosmio E10 CFSServ Listen Error & Recv InitConnect Error appears on startup

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Someone wrote in this forum that the CFSServ is part of ConfigFree utility.
Remove ConfigFree application from the system and try to use and configure your WLan again or try to use the LAN connectivity!

If you have some problems with this file, so the simplest way to solve this issue is to remove and then to install the ConfigFree.

HiI'm running win7 64, I use Chrome almost exclusively, and occasionally use IE and Firefox. This all started when I started receiving a lot of spam on my normally clean yahoo email acct, and quite a few popups.I used CCleaner to find an invalid registry key, labeled "smearware". This was after I had performed or experienced the following:A trojan detection and clean by Microsoft Security Essentials, subsequent scans have no detection.I uninstall MSE, I install PC Tools Spyware Doctor and Antivirus, which scans, detects and cleans a different trojan, subsequent scans have no detectionI installed the Windows Updates from Tuesday Feb 8, and updated Chrome.I run ComboFix successfully, I have logs, and will post when requested.I run CCleaner successfully, logs will be posted when requested.I run PC Tools Registry Mechanic (regularly every day) successfully.I full scan in SDA (no detection). I found 2 files in c:\ComboFix\ with some strange permissions. I can't delete them, and I've tried modifying ownership using explorer, but windows stated it required administrator privileges. I was able to run rkill and it killed several processes, like runonce. However, rkill did not remove itself from memory. Same for n.pif. I was able to successfully run ESET online scanner, and it did not detect anything. Every time I tried to download some new tool, like the manual updates for Spybot S&D, Internet Explorer 8 would sort of freeze. Once I turned off my wireless, the Save as dialogs reappeared. I re-enabled wireless and was able to download. However, it seems like my download request for Spybot was hijacked: when IE recovered, it wound up downloading a spybotsd.exe that is only 94KB. I was able to use Firefox to download Spybot. I tried installing AVG antivirus from CNet, and I receive a memory error I have not installed anything, since receiving the ComboFix error above. I can submit the 94 KB spybotsd.exe somewhere if necessary. Let me know if I should rename it. I did find that several extra IE8 processes were running, and my desktop had been hijacked, so I was unable to access my desktop icons. I was able to shut down most extraneous processes, which rkill also detected as expected.I'm currently running sfc /scannow (at 63% at this time) and SAS portable is also in progress (which found some adware cookies).I guess if I let th... Dear sir and sirettes!

Please can anyone explain this error message that I get when I go to play occasional mp3's from certain websites (eg when trying to preview a new mobile phone tone, etc)

I click a link - get the 'you have chosen to d/load a file from the following location - open or save .. etc etc' - so choose Open.
I then see "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.".

Choosing the save option gives us a similar message when trying to open.

Is this just a series of duff websites (2 examples below)

Qosmio G50-12 U Display issue

When I start the computer (Windows Vista) the Qosmio splash page shows and the boot up process proceeds but round about when the Welcome message shows the display panel shuts down.

When I connect an HDMI cable between the computer and the TV the display shows up fine on the TV.

When I hit FN + F5 the display fails to revert to the computer display panel.

If I shut down and re-start the computer several times as if by pot luck the computer displays show up OK. But then I am reluctant to shut down the computer as I lose the display again .

A:Qosmio G50-12U - Display shuts down when "Welcome" appears

It looks like the internal display started to malfunctions.
I think its display problem because the video output on external monitor/TV works properly.
This would mean that graphic card is OK.

If graphic chip is OK, there is just one part (or two) which could malfunction: either its display panel or an part between the display and motherboard; something like an cable or FL inverter? but I think its display.

My webcam has failed to be recognized in Device manager with this error.

Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

I looked up online and one suggestion was to download the webcam drivers from the manufacturer's website. I was unable to find them. I am unsure of the model or make of the webcam so finding the drivers elsewhere is not possible.

This error started since the latest windows update.

Not sure where to go from here and what I should do. This is a fairly new laptop. Bought on 9th December. Already I had an issue where the driver for my printer messed up the computer so bad that it failed to start and I was left with no option but to refresh the system files.. which took out all my games.. I've just got them all reinstalled.. and now this.. So I would like to avoid a refresh of the system.

A:Device error 43 on Qosmio X70-B-102

>This error started since the latest windows update.
Do you check the list of offered updates before you start Windows updates installation or it is set to automatic update?

Generally speaking, since Win8 there is no ?special? webcam driver and cam uses Microsoft driver.
Try please to uninstall this device from device manager and restart your notebook (perform complete shutdown).
After notebook restart unknown device should be detected and installed again. Please test it and send some feedback.

Yesterday i turned on my laptop and i got a black screen with the message "PCI Express Error"
I immediately started searching the web what this error might be and i discovered that it's a known problem with some Toshiba laptops.

Just a few of the many topics i found about this error.

I bought my laptop January 2009 as a demo model from a dutch store called Qplaza http://www.qplaza.nl/

Don't think i have any warranty beside the warranty i got from that store (2 years) but there are a few things i don't understand.

From what i understand is that there even was a lawsuite about this problem and that there indeed was a problem with the nvidia 8600 chips. But then why won't Toshiba or Nvidia fix the laptops with those problems?

From what i have read my laptop would have to go to special repair service to replace my motherboard and i will have to pay for that myself.
And that is IF they can fix my laptop.

I started searching the internet what the price costs might be but the answers didn't make me a very happy woman :-(

Isn't there another way to fix this problem?
And aren't there places where you can buy a suitable motherboard for this laptop?

Can anybody please help me?? My laptop was working perfectly and without any warning..poof...can't ... Read more

I can understand you that you are not happy about the current situation. Nobody is happy if the computer starts malfunctioning but it?s not always easy to say what the reason is. For exact diagnostic you need professional tools and such tools only available for an authorized service provider.

Only information I miss in your posting is information about operating system. Do you use the preinstalled Windows version and have you already recovered your notebook back to factory settings? If not you should to do this to make sure it?s no software or driver that is causing the problem.

If it still doesn?t work you should get in contact with an authorized service provider and speak with the guys what they can do for you. I?m sure they can make you an offer for spare parts if you need them and a good price as well. Just speak with the technicians what possible is. ;)

I have a G20-102. Today I opened my flash drive and the files all showed as shortcuts. I tried connecting to Firefox 4 and a AVG threat warning came pointing to C:\windows\system32\mssrv32.exe (Tr/Crypt.xpack.Gen3) as an Identity Protection. I opted for the "Move to vault" option and was asked to reboot

Now my pc does not boot - i get the Qosmio screen, ATA#1 Error (CD Drive has been removed) and the then the screen "rolls" - it looks like random pixels that flash across the screen. I am trying to boot in Safe Mode, but F5, F8 or any Fkey is not doing it

To make matters worse, the CD rom has been removed, faulty, so I can not boot from another device. I do not have a USb option is the BIOS, only FDD which I do not have

A:Qosmio G20 - Doesn't boot, ATA#1 error

For me it looks like a serious hardware malfunction?

You could try to load the default settings in BIOS. Enter BIOS setup and press F9 key to load default values. Then save & exit BIOS and try to start again.

Is the HDD recognized properly in BIOS? If yes I would try a recovery installation Toshiba recovery disk and check if the problem is hardware or software related.

I recently installed a windows update and the laptop went into restart mode.
When the system boots up it tries to boot then i get a black screen say PCI Express error.

I have tried a system recovery but the disc will not boot up, also tried accessing the bios and this also doesn't work.

Can i please ask for some help on this one as i havent had any issues at all, just seems that a windows update has messed with my bios config.

please help!!!

A:Qosmio G40-10e wont boot up - PCI Express error

I cannot believe that Windows update would affect the BIOS.

In my opinion this must be just a bad luck.

Usually the PCI Express error means that an PCI device on the motherboard started to malfunction.

This means that this could be a motherboard problem which could be solved only by mobo replacement

Sorry dude but I think you don't have many options here... seems the Toshiba ASP technician should take a look on this issue :(

some time ago i successfuly destroyed my Nvidia 330M graphics card.
Dont know what exactly happened, maybe overheated, I just got BSOD and afterwards my system was reporting ERROR 43.

I reinstalled whole windows to factory defaults with toshiba drivers but with no luck, the card did not work.
I uninstalled Nvidia drivers from my laptop, so my display adapter is "Standard VGA graphics adapter".

I tried to find a way around and I realized that I can use processor graphics instead.
I have Intel i5 - M430, so I wanted to install intel HD graphics driver only to get a "does not meet minimum system requirements" error.

Can anyone help me with this problem, please?

A:Qosmio F60 - Intel graphic driver installation error

Intel Core i5-430M processor (3M Cache, 2.26 GHz) supports the first generation of Intel HD graphic unit.
The driver could be downloaded from Intel driver page and you have to choose the right one

Graphics -> Laptop graphics drivers -> Intel Core Processors with Intel HD graphics
Now you should get a list of different drivers for different system.

Choose and download the latest driver for the system you are using.
Note: choose the ZIP package.

Then unzip the package somewhere on the HDD (I prefer the desktop). Then go to device manager and choose the graphic card (Standard VGA graphics adapter)
Now choose install driver and use the advanced installation. This allows you to point to the driver package you have unzipped on the desktop.

This installation procedure should works fine as it worked also in my case.

Guys, laptop is currently running using standard vga (i.e. GTX 560M disabled). I've checked using GPU-Z and the BIOS version and other info are missing/blank. Previously, it is populated with data (ex. BIOS Version:, etc...). This problem appeared after the laptop bluescreened while playing LoL. After restarting, the display went black (i.e. after windows loads). After restarting many times, login screen appeared but in vga mode. Checking the display in the device manager, it indicates the code 43.

Does this mean that the GTX 560M video card is damaged? Pleas help.

Hi everyone,

Ive not long had this laptop and whenever I install the AMD Catalyst software onto it so I can use the AMD graphics I receive a BCOD stating internal power error followed by continuous restarts with the same error message before it system restores to a time before the driver install. This is with Windows 8.1 as I have not switched to Windows 10 as of yet.

I have tried to instal the latest drivers about 4 times now but the same thing happens again and again. As soon as the software installs and the laptop restarts for the changes to take place, the internal power error starts. Does anyone know how to fix this or should I take the laptop back under warranty?

A:Qosmio X70-B-10T - Internal power error after updating graphics driver

I know the internal power fault but only in connection with the Windows 10

It was already discussed in this thread

The issue was related to the AMD graphic driver and Windows system and this was solved by Windows update.
If you get the BSOD installing the AMD drive, then the current driver could not be fully compatible with your Win 8.1 system.

Also the missing system update might be caused this… so ensure that your Win 8.1 OS is already up to date and use the AMD drive released by Toshiba.

Then, i formatted my laptop and reinstalled Windows XP. It was running fine for two days. Suddenly, it started giving error "Logonui.exe application error" at startup displaying something similar to "The instruction at '0x0037149c' referenced memory" something.. It had to buttons - Cancel (for debugging) and Ok.. I pressed cancel/ok/close button. It always cropped up. Until after a series of pressing buttons, my log on screen came. After logging in, all my icons and taskbar gone. So, i opened Windows Task Manager and run "explorer.exe". After everything came up, Some Data Execution Prevention error cropped up. Whenever i tried clicking "Close Message", it always came up again with a separate window for the "Send Error Report to Microsoft" dialog box.

Whenever I connected to internet, the link under my Internet started blinking very fast. I even left it without any internet application open, but it still went on. I saw the properties window of my connection. It went on and on. And in return, everything went slow. Internet surfing and downloading. And one major problem occurred that, whenever I leave my internet open for a short while, it shows the blue screen of error and restarts.

This is a family member's laptop. It is a Dell Inspirion N4110 running Win 7 Home Premium x64
They gave it to me complaining that the shutdown button restarts the computer and will not actually shut it down.
So I checked its preferences, they were fine. I went into the registry and changed the value from 1 to 0. That didn't work. (I changed it back)

I noticed on start up there is an error (it still pops up) that says there was a problem starting c:\users\blah\AppData\Roaming\homsp.dll The specified module could not be found.

The I decided to run a virus scan. Their McAfee had expired so I uninstalled it along with some odd software from a company called SysTweak or something and installed AVG and Malware Bytes. Those full scans came back clean except AVG found something and removed it but it wasn't of any significance to this issue.

I decided to check Windows Update, it wouldn't run. So I tried to restart it in Services and it wasn't there. After some piddling I found a program that supposedly fixed the problem for you. I'm in no way a expert on such things but I did notice something you found.

Their is no way of knowing all the things a program like that has done. If I had to repair this computer I would start with a repair install.

Give this a good read.

Repair Install

Then I would install MSE for a anti virus and use the built in Windows Firewall.

Little note: If you didn't use McAfee's online removal tool their could of been left overs of McAfee on the computer when you installed AVG and that would be just more problems.
Any anti virus program you remove I recommend using their own removal tool found online.

So an annoying thing keeps happening. I will download videos (primarily .avi) from torrent sites, and when I open the folder that contains the files, an error message will come up. Downloading other types of files, such as .mp3s does not seem to produce the error. This only seems to happen when I download torrents of videos. There can be one .avi file in a folder, and after two seconds an error message will come up with three options, "OK", "Copy to Clipboard" and "Submit Report"... the text of the error msg is at the end of my post (it is long). The error messages are relentless, and will keep on popping up every second or so, after I click OK. Usually I just have to Ctrl-Alt-Del, and shutdown the not responding folder.I can view and move the contents of the folders if I use another program, such as GOM player. I will go into GOM player and click open file, and then I can browse the contents of the folders. There, I am even able to cut and paste them to new folders, and no error msgs will appear. Yet if I try to do this just using My Computer, the error msgs will appear.I really don't think that it's a virus, although I havent ruled out the possibility. I have AVG Antivirus/Antispyware, Sunbelt Firewall, AdAware, ASquared, Spybot, Spyware Blaster... None of the programs find anything.Any ideas? Welcome to Seven Forums,

See this Thread for possible resolution, quite a long Thread but it might worth your time following all the recommendations.

I'd disable your AV or Security Program to start off and see if that's the culprit.

I have the following error message coming up every time I reboot. I have tried to run CCleaner to get rid of it. I also did a System Restore back to a date prior to the time the file appeared. I think the error message started coming up after I downloaded, and deleted, several copies of the setup (.exe) file for VLC Media Player. I deleted several of these before I got a working copy of VLC.

The error message says:

Could not load or run C:\Users\Ella\AppData\Local\Temp\csrss.exe specified in the registry. Make sure the file exists on your computer or remove the reference to it in the registry.

I would like any advice as to how I can get rid it it.

A:Error message appears when I reboot.

Hi all,

I have a Samsung R580 laptop and bad things appeared two days ago and continues until now.

The first thing happened is my computer freezes while I'm doing normal things with it. No way for Ctrl-Alt-Del, no way for soft reset. All I could do is Power off the computer, and then turn it on. After turning on, I saw that the system could not boot but stopping at POST screen. If I Ctrl-Alt-Del at that time, it can boot to Windows. If I let the system freezes again, the procedure returns. If I shut down Windows by myself, the next time I turn on the laptop is OK, no freezing at boot time but freezing in Windows will be a certain fact.

The symptom returns after some random time. Maybe 1 hour, maybe more or less.

Initially I thought it was the cooling system problem. I had the laptop to service, they clean it carefully and the heating problem could be bypassed.

Nevertheless, the problem still came after I brought the laptop home.

I wanna seek for minidump file. Things I did to have it are as follow

The OS did not ask me to restart but I did it to avoid any complicated things.

The crashes still occurred and after a long time waiting, I saw this BSOD screen

After a long time waiting (the record of waiting is the amount of 5 hours 30 mins), the collecting process is still 0%. No minidump file found.

I formatted the C: partition and reinstall Windows 8.1. Just Windows and Firefox, no more softwares. The BSOD problem still occur, but the error code changed to CRITICAL... Read more

Hello! Through the help of google and some specific key words, I was able to come across you guys.
I figured that some insight into this somewhat reoccurring issue would be a good idea at this point because I have no idea where to go.
At first, I thought it was a game related issue because it only seemed to happen while playing RAGE. It then started happening even when I was just performing simple computer tasks. Basically what happens is that a "script error" with (red letters in a black box I believe) appears at the top of the monitor briefly, and then all of a sudden everything running begins to fail//crash. Audio becomes completely distorted, and just sounds like a bunch of scratchy-beeping. . very annoying. There will also be random graphic distortions with horizontal and vertical lines that replace what an image used to be. Attached are some examples of the video distortion ( please excuse the left side image on each)
It seems that the only way to make all of this to go away, is to simply restart the computer. I've updated every possible driver I can think of, and nothing has seemed to work yet.http://i39.tinypic.com/hvz1ad.png
System Info:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
AMD Phenom II X4 960T Processor 3.0 GHz
Corsair XMS DDR3 8GB    (x2)
Seagate Barracuda 2TB SATA Hard Drive
XFX Radeon HD 6870 1GB

A:Script Error Appears, and then Everything Begins to Crash

"Random graphic distortions with horizontal and vertical lines " Looks like a hardware issue or driver issue.

If not, go to C > Windows > Minidump, zip up your files and upload them with your next post, you may need to copy them to your desktop first.

Alright so when i turn my computer, windows loads and my desktop background appears as does the mouse arrow but I get an error message that is titled:

Explorer.EXE-Application Error

and in the box, it says:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000006). Click OK to terminate the application.

But, no matter if i click the ok button or the X to close it, the window will close and nothing will load. I am left with my desktop wallpaper and and mouse. The start bar will not appear though the CTRL ALT delete menu will open if i press those buttons. Also, when i start the computer in safe mode, the same message appears. I have a very elementary knowledge of computers but any help with getting rid of this message and getting my computer back to normal will be greatly appreciated.
