Preferred Solution: Corrupted Drivers cannot be fixed..

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Corrupted Drivers cannot be fixed..

Chkdsk only finds bad links between drivers. It doesn't scan drivers and replace them with good copies. You do have a program in your Vista installation, however, that does do this, and it is called the System File Checker, or SFC.

"Run as Administrator" a command prompt and type in sfc /scannow

The program will scan every protected operating system file on your computer for errors and if it finds a bad file it replaces it with a good copy.

Then, restart your computer.

Hope this helps the problem!

I recently got a dell latitude 10 st2e from a friend and wanted to reset it. I did and then all the drivers were gone as expected, but when i went to get them from the dell website. the drivers would work. for example the intel drivers on the dell website started a boot loop, i got in to the main desktop and it instantly shut down everytime until i reset it again. so dell im asking for a request to fix all the drivers or give me older drivers that work. thank you

A:dell latitude 10 st2e drivers on website are corrupted or not fixed.

What OS are you installing?  The only drivers listed are for Win 8/8.1
Also, after installing Windows 8/8.1 the Intel Motherboard chipset drivers must be installed BEFORE installing any device drivers.  If the chipset drivers are not installed, device driver installs can fail as one of the things the chipset drivers do is identify all the devices on the motherboard.

This problem started a couple days ago. There doesn't seem to be a user initiated trigger, as it first happened after the computer was idling for a while, and subsequent crashes/problems occurred at various times in various circumstances, all the while getting worse. I came back to my computer to find it was in an infinite BSOD-reboot loop, where it would clear POST and the Windows splash screen would pop up for about three seconds followed by an instant BSOD. It probably was going on for a good 20-30 minutes before I stopped it, which I did by completely powering down the system and then restarting. When Windows loads, it pops up the message 'Windows has recovered from a serious error'. I send the error report and it says everything is unknown except that it was caused by a driver, but doesn't know which driver. I figured it must have been a random thing, because I hadn't updated any drivers since first building the computer, ... Read more

So I don't know how to manually fix corrupted files, so I'm wondering if you guys can help me. I have my sfc details here. SFC Details - Pastebin.com. Thank you.

A:Corrupted files not fixed through sfc scan through CMD.

Hey, there is a known issue with a recent Windows Update (KB3022345), it causes an irrepairable corruption warning (which is a false report, the files are not corrupt in reality). If you have this update installed then do one of the following:
- Uninstall this update (it is Windows 10 preparation update) or
- Run the fix from The Tech Cookbook – Windows 7 update (KB3022345) causing corrupt files

After the above, run another SFC /scannow. If you still get a corruption, attach it in your next post.

I'm going to try restoring a corrupted profile by copying files from the corrupted one to a new profile. I have the following questions:

1. Microsoft's "Fix A Corrupted User Profile" page advises not to copy ntuser.dat, ntuser.dat.log, and ntuser.ini. My corrupted profile has quite a few files beginning with ntuser, some look similar to keys in the profilelist section of the registry, some have different names than the three MS refers to. Should any of them be copied into the new profile?

2. The corrupted profile shared files with other computers, based on the profile's user name. What's the best way to maintain the share and ownership settings? Will renaming the old profile and then changing the name of the new profile to what the old one was called maintain these settings?

3. I'm going to take this opportunity to move some of the larger files in the corrupted profile off my C: drive. Will that create a problem if they are not transferred to the new profile?

Thanks very much for any help.

Corrupted files found by sfc /scannow cannot be fixed(please see attachment). Have gone through the sfc tutorial. The attached files cannot be fixed with chkdsk /r/f. I believe Windows7 SP1 is corrupted as my laptop cannot implement many of the current updates, and have errors when attempting to update (please see attachment). The laptop is from CyberpowerPC thus Microsoft will not allow me to download a Windows 7 SP1 ISO, which would allow me to perform repair install.

Any suggestion greatly appreciated.

A:Corrupted files found by sfc /scannow cannot be fixed.

Run this command in CMD as administrator.

dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

This should repair the corruption.

Also when this is finished, perform a Disk Cleanup. Select "Clean System Files". Check the Windows Update box, and whatever boxes you feel need cleaned up. This may take a bit of time to complete if you've never performed this task, overnight while you sleep is not a bad option

Please let us know if this gets you sorted.

I have an HP 635, which has fixed mode switchable graphics. When I tried to update the drivers to my discrete Radeon HD 6370M through the latest driver pack exe for it off the AMD site, the installer displayed an error message in the end. An AMD representative told me that this was because my integrated 'AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250' did not support the latest drivers for the 6370M, and that the only way to properly update the drivers for the discrete GPU in such a case would be to disable the integrated one altogether, through the BIOS, but he said there are many laptop models on which this is impossible. What about mine? Or is there perhaps a different way out? Thanks in advance.

Okay, so I'm running Vista Ultimate x64 with an Intel Core 2 Quad on a Rampage Formula board blah blah blah. So at any rate, I caught a virus of some sort and it did a real number on my USB ports. As of right now, On boot none of the USB devices work until I delete INFCACHE.1, then go to device manager and delete all of the broken USB devices. Windows then reinstalls the USB drivers and everything works again . . . Except for two problems.
1) I have to do this EVERY TIME I BOOT UP.
2) It seems that If I plug a USB device into a different port than the one it was in when I deleted INFCACHE.1, it refuses to work until I go through that whole process again.
I've tried installing the fancy new Intel Chipset thing, and that did nothing. Also, Intel's built in Driver Scanner detects no problems. One last thing: when looking in the Driver details in Device Manager say they're from 2006 and distributed by Microsoft, even though they're all named 'Intel ICH9 Family'.

I might be able to upgrade to Windows 7, will that fix this problem? If not, is there any way I can?

After that was finished, I checked in device manager and every network controller, audio device, and all USB controllers had the yellow triangle and exclamation point signifying a driver issue. I tried updating drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling the devices, running a virus scan, system file checker, system restore, all of the above in safe mode, etc. All system restores and driver updates/re-installations fail. Hey everyone about a few months ago I was trying to update my iphone and was having problems doing so and i restarted my computer with the phone still hooked up like I have done many times before but when windows came up I had no usb drivers, sound drivers, network drivers. so now the only way I can use a keyboard and mouse is ps2 and I only have a ps2 keyboard

and from what windows is saying the drivers are missing or corrupted and if I try to reinstall them it fails. if I try to boot from the cd and do an upgrade or repair it says it has to be run inside windows which I cant do as there are no drivers, how do I go about fixing this? this is windows 7 pro x64

A:Drivers deleted or corrupted

Boot the Win7 DVD or Repair CD, select Repair My Computer on second screen, accept any offered Repair. If Win7 doesn't start up, boot back in to run Startup Repair
repeatedly until it starts.

Startup Repair is run from boot only in Win7. It should automate System Restore, but if not and it fails boot back in to run that from System Recovery Options

You can copy out your files using DVD/Repair CD with this method: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Next see if you can boot into Safe Mode to install and run a full Malwarebytes scan. If not, download and burn to CD Bitdefender bootable AV scan: FREE Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CDs Download List to boot and run a full scan.

If this cleans up infection, try retarting WIn7. If that fails, try all Repairs again including SFC -SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot

I installed an application off of the AMD website, and it updated a whole lot of stuff in my graphics card, and I'm assuming it updated some drivers as well, which is fine. But it prompted me to restart it for the changes to take effect, when it was restarting the screen went blank for a while, and naturally I had a very brief power cut at my house. Long story short, I think it messed up all the drivers, because my Keyboard, Mouse and Wifi adapter no longer do anything, in any of the USB ports, the Monitor no longer functions in either port on the graphics card and motherboard, meaning I'm completely unable to click or type anything to reset it that way. Anyone know what I can do? I desperately need it for university work. Thanks.

A:Possible corrupted drivers rendering my pc useless

I'm fine with resetting my pc completely as most of the stuff on it I can get back, I just don't know what to do in order to get it back to a state where the ports on the back work.

(This is happening on Windows XP SP3)

Last weekend, I attempted to download the DOS-based fighting game M.U.G.E.N., on the assumption (hoping I'm not making a derp here) that it was free to download.  The site wasn't an official MUGEN site, but I didn't bat an eye because the game is small and not well known - perhaps they didn't want to pay for hosting?

Big mistake.

It turned out to be one of those skeezy download sites that only looks legit, and their version of the game came with a free expansion pack for practicing hand-to-hand combat against malicious code.  The offenders seem to be Sirefef (or, as it should be called, the "ninja vampire cockroach" virus, because that's how hard this stupid thing is to find and kill) and a generic detection for Java exploits/malware.

The first thing I noticed was the sound acting goony, only playing for certain things and only some of the time.  When I tried to fix it, I found that any scanners were prevented from running by "software restriction policies", but a cursory look in both gpedit and secpol reveals that no such policies exist, and any attempts to skirt them by renaming things are blocked because this thing flips every folder on the computer to read-only, allowing you to fix them only to make them read-only again right away.

Over the past several days this computer has been subjected to so many virus scans I've lost count, from nearly as many products.  Most have found and ... Read more

Should I just repost this in the logs section? (running the super tools was not my idea - well, TDSSKiller sort of was, but I got the instructions from elsewhere - and I'm pretty sure the logs are still around.)  This is what happens when I attempt to open MBAM.  My mother managed somehow to reinstall Avast and skirt it past this, but the same could not be said of MBAM.  What the event viewer has to say about it.  What it used to say about Avast.  There is no way this folder should be set to read-only, and attempting to turn off that attribute only results in it being set back to read-only.  Meanwhile, WebZoom is still there, and refuses to respond to the "change/remove" button. Lastly, does anyone know how to upload media to my BC account?  All I have at Imageshack is a trial account, which means my images are probably going to disappear in just over a month.  It used to be free.  EDIT: I set Avast to scan much deeper than usual (including a rootkit scan) and while no residual Sirefef infection showed up (and it still refuses to recognize WebZoom as malware), it did return a couple of threats: According to a web search, that "Agent-DSR" thing is quite a venerable trojan, around since late '06, and it allows a hacker to remote-control your computer. Glad I got rid of it, but the virus chest already contains a couple of generic dropper detections that it apparently found during auto-scans... Read more

All my USB drives are gone. I get the message, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". One of the solutions I saw was to remove any UpperFilter and LowerFilter keys in two registry values. I did that, disabled and enabled the drives but still no go. I also ran Microsoft Fixit but it was useless.

I tried a Windows repair install but it did fix it either.

Next step is re-install Win 7 I guess right? Or would it be something that even a re-install won't fix?

Any other suggestions?

I'm current with all updates and am on a 64bit Home Premium.

Thanks much.

I am running Windows 7 on a dual boot system with Windows XP.

Today, when in Windows 7, my CD and DVD drives do not work and the error message says "driver may be corrupted or missing (Code 39). They also do not work in XP mode.

The drives work OK in Windows XP.

I have tried to update the drivers on the internet and hard drive storage and it does not work. I also "uninstalled" each drive through the disk manager and then restarted the computer. It tried to install drivers but gave a message saying that they were not installed.

I would like to run the Windows repair program on the install disks but without operating CD and DVD drives, I do not think this is going to work. I tried it using the Windows 7 safe mode and it did not recognize the drives either.

I have some disk images on external hard drives that can be restored but I want that to remain as a last choice because I have installed some programs after making those images that I could reinstall but it would be a nuisance. No programs have been installed within the last week or two.

Any suggestions on a possible fix for this problem?

Thanks

My desktop uses a USB wired mouse, the mouse worked fine for a month or two, then just started glitching out. Right clicks act as both left and right (at the same time, ikr, it's weird), and left clicks often refuse to go through. I'm assuming that it's the driver, not the mouse, but I could be wrong. I haven't gotten a chance to test the mouse on other systems, but I will try and update this post when I do. The mouse is only a few months old (as is the desktop), so I doubt that the mouse itself is broken, and if it was faulty it wouldn't have worked very well the first time I booted the tower. In attempts to fix the driver I have uninstalled the device and deleted the drivers then unplugged and replugged, works for a few minutes, then goes back to glitches. I can't seem to find a driver download on the Asus website for the model mouse I have, just a user manual. I've also done numerous virus scans with programs like Hitman pro, Malwarebytes, and the service I pay for, Kasperksy. Any ideas as to why this happens? I have exhausted my troubleshooting for now, and don't have a clue, please leave suggestions, thanks.

Background -

* Computer running XP pro (native install from Dell), sp2
upgraded. Pretty standard USB keyboard, Kensington trackball (w.
Kensington software). System works fine.
* Tried to install a Wacom Graphire III tablet. This works fine
(even simultaneously with the trackball), but whenever you reboot the
system, you get a system stop, and the only thing to fix it is to go
back to a "pre Wacom" restore point. Wacom drivers updated to best off

if the conflict is there. This I did, and it didn't help. When back to
the "pre-kensington deinsall" checkpoint.

Symptoms:

* The keyboard has stopped working! When you boot windows, the
keyboard (what few keys you can test) works fine, and the "num lock"
light is on. About 3/4 of the way through the Windows reboot process,
however, the green light goes off and the keyboard stops working
(entirely). For example, you can't log in, because you can't type your
password. This also happens in safe mode, I think.
* Luckily, I routinely use this machine in remote desktop mode -
so I log in remotely. All is well, except when you go into device
manager view, the keyboard shows and error. The error (#39)
explains that Windows was unable to load the drivers, because they are
corrupted or missing.

I asked my question on micorsoft community but they answered a few times then simply stopped answering, all I was told is that it maybe possibly due to corrupted memory drivers. I either get the BSOD with the DPC_Watchdog_Violation error or my laptop just freezes and a constant buzzing sound happens until I force it to shut down (but this is rarer). Something I have noticed is that it usually if not always happens when im on skype and something that I have seen sometimes is that skype is the first program to say not responding then seconds later the BSOD happens. This error has been happening from the first day I got windows 8.1 upgraded from windows 7. Any help would be appreciated!

So, i as using windows 8 Rtm. I had installed the windows 7 drivers for my Sony Vaio VGN-AR730e, which has an Nvidia GeForce 8400m Gt graphics card. Everything was fine for a few days, and then it shut off. When I turned it back on, the opening splash screen before windows (i'm aware bios isn't viewable anymore, shame...) had green lines going halfway through the screen, and every screen that has the blinking cursor at the top left also has a lot of apostrophes all over the screen.

I tried getting the 302.80 nvidia graphics card and it says it won't work, as well. I can't install any other operating system other than windows 8, nothing else will load. What did windows do to my computer?

I was installing Service Pack 1 for vista but while it was in the 3rd stage it stopped at 62% so I restarted the computer started vista in safe mode, it went up from 60% then it stopped at around 70%-79% so I restarted the computer again but in normal mode, it went to 100% but then it said the service pack didn't install so it reverted back the changes. I don't wan to re-install vista because I don't want to re-format a partition.

So I was thinking that I could copy the core drivers into the hard-drive from the Vista Disc. But I only have a command prompt to work with that doesn't have the "help" command. So if its possible can I have a list of the core drivers to copy and the commands to use? Maybe regsvr32 after copying? Thanks in advance.

P.S. My system is 32bit.
