Replacement Graphics Card/Board for HP Slimline Pavillion

Q: Replacement Graphics Card/Board for HP Slimline Pavillion

I am trying to find a replacement graphics card/board that will fit into a HP Slimline Pavillion Computer. It currently has a NIVIDIA Geforce G210 graphics card with DVI and HDMI only. The card is workign fine but hte fan on the card makes alot of noise. So I am afraid it is going to go out. I can't find an exact match anywhere and trying to figure out one that will fit back in this slimline case. Here is the information on the current card: ZOTAC 210 Synenergy Edition 512MB 64 Bit DDR2. Part Number 288-10N44-240ZT.

Preferred Solution: Replacement Graphics Card/Board for HP Slimline Pavillion

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi: I would go with the nvidia GT 610 low profile which took the place of the 210 and it draws about 1.5 W less power. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st_price-asc-rank?keywords=geforce+gt+610&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ageforce+g... You may want to get one with a passive heatsink. No fan to conk out on you, and since it has no fan it is silent.

I have a HP Pavillion x360 (13z-a000) that I bought two years ago.  The CPU is dead.  The computer does not power on and the Caps Lock button blinks constantly (single blink).  I brought it to a local shop and they confimed this but they do not fix HP.  If it is the motherboard, can I just buy one and replace it myself?  Where can I buy the mother board?  How do I find the part number?
The serial number is [Personal Information Removed]

Here is the Manual: Service Manual There are 4 different AMD motherboard depending on if you have the A8 processor or the A6 and Windows Standard or Pro. Get the same Windows version as you have or you will have to buy another copy of Windows. Your hard drive installation of Windows will not activate unless you install a motherboard set up for the same OS version. Post back if you need a more detailed explanation. Yours is a CTO laptop so we cannot just look up your original factory specs. You can interchange the A6 and A8 version of the motherboard with the caveat stated above. The Manual shows the "how-to" on replacement. Assuming you have the A8 and Windows Standard this is the part number: 769075-501 This is it on US amazon.com for $109 which is a pretty fair price: https://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-Convertible-Motherboard-769075-501/dp/B0118AZL1S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UT... Post back with any more questions.  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

Hi there,

Posted this in a thread, but think I'd get a better response here. I've got a 2 year old Media Center PC that is okay for watching standard DVDs and low spec games, but starts to jerk with HD content and games set to anything but minimum settings.

When I got it I was told I may find the video card to be lacking...but didn't upgrade because I didn't think I'd need superior capability.

The spec:

1. Main use would be as a media center...find HD playback to be a bit jerky right now. Would play medieval total war 2 if it wasn't so slow.
2. About 50 ($100)
3. PSU - 180W 10A from "FSP group". But it's a micro ATX form factor and I've found it near impossible to find a replacement.
4. MB - 915P-M3
CPU - P4 3.2Ghz 640
Memory - 2gb DDR
Graphics - PCI-express, got a Radeon x550 in right now
5. From the UK

Whats the best graphics card I can get for my system without bottlenecking or having to upgrade my PSU?

Hey guys,

I have a run of the mill HP slimline desktop which i use as my main pc. I have recently stuck in some more ram and am now looking for a new graphics card in order to play a few games more smoother.

At the mo its running the onboard nvidia geforce 6150 le but am having trouble finding a card to fit in the case as it's so small.

I purchased a nvidia geforce 7300le which is too big to fit in the case!

Any ideas on a half decent small card either pci or agp?

Thanks again.

A:Looking for a decent graphics card to fit my HP Pavilion Slimline

I have an HP Pavilion s7620.uk Slimline, and mine came with a nVidia 7500 LE, which fits fine and works for general computer use and a few games (I mostly play Unreal Tournament 2004). One thing though, it's an OEM card from HP, so it most likely won't be sold on its own.

hey everyone!

i would like to say im doing okay, but unfortunately i need help. heres the situation-- i just purchased a sparkle NVidia 9800gt graphics card for my HTPC the HP Slimline. its a really powerful low profile card so it was really hard getting it into the box (also required new power supply), but i did it and everything powered on fine eventually. however its been about 3 days and i still cant get it to actually install. everytime i boot up windows (which in case i have the VGA cable plugged in from the graphics card) and install it, it gives me an error stating " The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request." and when i look in the properties it says "(code 28)". Ive also tried using the installation disk and bypassing windows installer, but that doesn't work either. i have tried several means as to getting this thing installed. i used a freeware program call "driver sweeper" from guru3d,com to sweep the existing drivers, but im sure that probably only made things worse (me accidently uninstalling my NVidia ethernet lol).

So all in all i just need someone to possibly guide me through this process. Ive tried searching for answers on my own of course but i just cant seem to get this resolved.

my system specs are as follows:
HP slimline 3400z
Vista ultimate 32 bit
AMD 64 X2 dual core processor 4400+ 2.30 ghz
4 gigs of ram
500 GB internal western digital harddrive

update: just called microsoft, unfortunately they didnt help me too much at as to resolving this issue. however i did come across an article on the microsoft support website. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927524

This article seems to have another possible alternative to getting the driver installed, but still doesnt seem to have specific details relating to my issue. So at this point all i can really count on is the expertise from experienced members on this site for help.

High guys, i have this PC model, which is great for me as its small and allows me to hook up my TV box to it, so i can watch tv through my PC.
However, I would love to be able to play some of the high end games which require a good graphics card, so I am looking for a slimline model with a single expansion plate (I have no idea what that means!)
I currently have the NVIDIA Geforce 5700VE which is just not good enough. So I was wondering if someone could help me out finding a really good graphics card that would fit the requirements of my Aopen XC cube.

I don't even need a partition since the recovery partition doesn"t seem to work anyway. Please help. Thanks.

A:trying to reformat HP Pavillion slimline

If the factory recovery partition is missing, damaged or corrupted, and you don't have a set of recovery CDs, you can order a set from HP. The set of Recovery CDs will automatically install all the correct motherboard device drivers too, which is much better than installing a "vanilla" copy of Windows then having to download & install all the drivers manually.

I tried to add a second monitor using the DVI out on the computer. The primary monitor is VGA. I then went to the display settings but did not find a second monitor. I checked the monitor and it works. Appreciate any assistance to hook up a second monotor.  Cheers

A:Add second monitor to Pavillion Slimline

Hi Chicagobill, Looking at the system board there are two different kinds of DVI connectors, labelled 3 and 4 respectively below:  The difference between DVI-D and DVI-I is in the four pins that surround the flat blade - those four pins on the DVI-I conector are what carry the analog VGA signal. DVI-D can only carry digital signals and works only either with other DVI connections or HDMI. I would recommend double-checking your DVI-VGA cable and make sure all four pins are present. If any are missing (or all are) you will need to replace the cable.

Greetings, Check the light on your Power Supply. The LED should be solid green when the system is on or immediately after a shutdown. What do you see? Unplug the PC from AC outlet. Depress the power button for 5 to 10 seconds. Connect to AC. Try to power on the PC again. Check the power supply LED while you power the system on. By the way, have you experienced any hard shutdowns due to power outages or system instability (Blue Screens, freezing, or spontaneous reboots)? There are three potential causes: 1. Power Supply 2. Motherboard 3. Power switch or switch connections/wiring. Cheers!

Once the laptop doesn't come with a dedicated vga (nVidia/ATI) you can't add it to the system. The only way how to get a dedicated vga to the system is to replace the motherboard with the dedicated vga already on it but it could be pretty expensive.

I recently got a HP Pavillion zd8000 which had Windows XP installed on it.

I installed windows 7 on it and had the graphics card problems where the screen wouldnt display anything.

I followed the directions for MObility Modder and the laptop worked fine.

Then a couple days ago, it would start up, show the login screen for about 5 seconds, then black out. i would hear the windows login noise but nothing would happen.

i experimented with it and found if i disconnected all power from the computer for about 10 seconds, then recconected it and started it up it would work

this is very annoying because i cant put the computer in sleep and would like to have it fixed

Hi, I've had my HP Pavillion p6-2489ea for a few years now and I think time is starting to catch up with it and I feel the graphics card (Geforce GT 630) lets it down when I am playing games - which is the primary use of the computer. Since high end PC's are expensive, do you think adding a new graphics card would significantly improve gaming performance?  If I was to upgrade the card, would this be a straightforward process and are most cards compatible with my machine?  My Processor: Intel i5 @ 3.10 GHz (4 CPU's)I'm not sure what the Motherboard is called sorry. Thanks Very Much

My computer has been acting up for months. It was a weird problem. The first power-on resulted in the fans spinning up etc and then nothing. Using the reset button had no effect. Holding the start button for a few seconds would shut down the computer, then starting it again worked perfectly, ran for hours with no problems. I had all the latest updates to drivers/O.S etc but nothing. I got sick of this and updated the bios but that made no difference. The hard disk is fine and works perfectly, showing no errors, when installed in a different computer. Now the computer has completely died. No boot, no P.O.S.T messags etc. The power and the fans come on but no sign of any other activity. I'm thinking the motherboard or the graphics card are Kaput.Any suggestions?
The mobo is Asus P5N32SLI-E, graphics card is 640Mb Leadtek 8800 GTS, processor Q6600, 4Gb ram, which I've tested by removing and swapping into different slots etc.
I cant find either mobo or graphics cards for sale in UK (all out of stock) which usually means outdated. Any suggestions as to what I can replace them with? Btw, O.S = Vista Home Premium.

Hello @gonzo503, Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that your display is not coming up after you did some system cleaning. I am happy to give you a hand with this. You suggested some possibilities, and yes even your doomsday scenario is possible, depending on what happened during the cleaning you did, and the methods you used. You should check out the following document, and read through it carefully. HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Monitor or TV is Blank after Starting the Computer To rule out the display itself the easiest test would be to connect it to a different device and see if it works, then you are left with the issue being in the computer itself. Please let me know how that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

A:Graphics card for mother board

What is the exact model of the Compaq you have? The power supply will likely be a small 250 or 300 watt unit that will limit a graphics card upgrade. Regardless this system should never be upgraded to Windows 10, it's not really suited for Windows 10 and performance will be terrible. These systems never officially supported Windows 7. You'd be better off saving the money from the upgrades and buy a used or new system.

A:s5213 Hp Slimline Pavillion Start's Up Then Shuts Off In Seconds

Since you recently installed Windows 8.1 I'm guessing that you have the installation disc?
If you do, see if you can boot from the disc.
Another way to accomplish the same thing would be to boot into the BIOS.
If you can do either of these without the computer shutting down this could be a software problem.  If it still shuts down it's time to start looking at hardware.
The PSU would be one of the possibilities.  There is a way to test this, but it would mean having to open the case so that you can access the 24 pin PSU connector on the motherboard.

I have a windows 7 system that I want to upgrade to Win10. The advisor says that the old on-board graphics card (built into the mobo) is not compatible. I went out and purchased a new PCI-e card that is compatible but the advisor continues to say that I can't upgrade. There appears to be no way for me to disable the old graphics chip in the BIOS.

I also tried to re-run the advisor analysis tool via the command line as mentioned in this post: Solved Cannot update to Windows 10 due to old video card - Windows 10 Forums

But the advisor still says that I can't update due to the old card.

Can I still upgrade to windows 10? If so what should I do?

A:How to upgrade despite incompatible on-board graphics card

Disable onboard video in BIOS.

Here are the events that occured in chronological order: Playing Hearthstone when screen glitched out and computer froze.Rebooted computer to see green lines over display of windows loading screen.Windows fails to load citing video tdr failure. After several different options, I have the computer do a full reset. This changes nothing.A friend gives me a GeForce GTX 760. Buy a new power supply to support it, install both. Now the computer does not even attempt to load Windows; instead it displays HP screen version 7.05. Says hit esc to enter options menu, but when I hit esc the keyboard goes dark. If I hit any key the keyboard goes dark. After reading that it could be a legacy bios issue I bought a GeForce GT 730, but with the same result as the 760. And this is where I'm at. If I put the old graphics card back in it replicates the same failed boot problem, and the other cards don't load properly. Any ideas?

A:Graphics Card/Mother Board issue

@Redsg, welcome to the forum. I believe that the GT 730 requires UEFI in the motherboard the same as the GTX 760.  You can contact the manufacturer's Tech Support to see what they have to say. One other suggestion, you should test the power supply unit (PSU) to see if it is failing.  Here is a guide to help you troubleshoot it.  The symptoms that you describe can be caused by a failing PSU. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I just made some upgrades on my computer - added a new 750w power supply, a couple new hard drives and a new graphics card. When I added the graphics card I took out what a think is just a modem (it only has a telephone jack on the back of it) to make space for the graphics card. I got the card up and running great (it's a PNY (Nvidia) GeForce 450 XLR8 performance edition). The old graphics were onboard Nvidia 6150LE. The rest of the specs are listed here except I boosted the memory to 4G.

So heres the issue: I added this card, and I think it's supposed to handle sound too.. through the HDMI somehow.. but I'm clueless about sound related stuff for whatever reason and I don't think I want sound to go through HDMI cuz I dont have the wires and connections for that. Do I? Maybe if I knew what I needed I would go that route, I don't know. I guess I just want SOUND again.

I'm pretty sure it's an option to use my old onboard for sound though, right? But I can't figure it out, I looked in device manager and it just says Nvidia High definition audio.. doesnt really help me. Help?

You should be able to switch back to your on-board sound via control panel-sound

I've been having some issues with BSOD's occurring over the last couple of days which consistently print out a specific message "KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED igdkmd64.sys" which from what I understand is somehow related to my default display adapter Intel(R) HD Graphics 530.

I've attempted doing updates, rollbacks, re-installations, etc and nothing has worked. Is there some way I can simply disable that specific card and allocate my dedicated graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M as the only running video card?

I did try the simple process of going into Device Manager and disabling my 530 but it caused some weird resolution glitches.

Is there a proper way I can disable my 530 in an attempt to see if it stops these random crashes from occurring again, and if so can someone please give me instructions on how I can do that.

Am working on a slimline computer (Windows 7) that has a DVD writer with an eject button that connects to 2 pins in the back of the DVD drive. The drive is getting flakey and I need to replace it but can not find one. Can anyone give me a clue where to look? posible search words etc? A second issue is that I can not seem to unplug that cable. Can not find the tab to push to release it.

Good evening I recently purcahsed a Asus geforce gtx 760 from a friend and a new Thermaltake TR2 600W power supply for my computer.   I installed them both and turned my computer on.  All components had power, the computer stalled at the HP blue loading screen with the hand.  It gave me the option to enter boot mode but would not allow me to access it.  There was a single beep with a long pause and then another beep, this hapened for a bit and then multiple beeps but would not allo me past that screen.   I reinstalled my older graphics card and left the new power supply back in. The computer started up fine and I am still able to use it.  I tried installing the card again, made sure all connections were good, but received the same result.  I did not take off any of the existing drivers or was unable to insatll the cd drivers that came with the card. CPU - HP Pavilion p7-1127cGraphics Card - ASUS GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5Power Supply - Thermaltake TR2 600W Thank you,Curtis

A:Mother board and Graphics card compatibility issue?

Greetings, The GTX 760 requires UEFI BIOS. It will not initialize. You have to go with Nvidia GTX 600 series cards or look at Sapphire Legacy/UEFI cards. MSI and Gigabyte offer newer Nvidia cards with Legacy/UEFI  BIOS also. Cheers!
