I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am trying to view surveillances camera using a DVR card installed on my PC, and using Logmein.com to try to view the camera but unable to view camera. I have used other remote control software such as dameware and webex and I am able to view cameras but cannot with logmein. I only now have access only to use logmein but keep getting this error message when i restart the DVR cameras while using logmein, ERROR: pixel format was invalid as specified: 0x88760091, Create surface fail!".

Please suggest any info, it is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Memory (RAM): 512 MB
System Type: 32-bit
Graphics Card: Mobil Intel® 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)
If anyone can please reply with an answer, that world be great, and please note that this is my first time on this forum. Thanks

Welcome to BC
Really Memory (RAM): 512 MB is not enough ram to even run vista you will need at least 2 gigs, I suggest 4 in order to be able to experience vista without issue.
A memory upgrade is the only way forward in this case.

I'm using a Lenovo laptop with integrated intel graphics, I'm also using an Acer B223W attached as an external display. There is an issue with the monitor where there is a four inch black bar running down the right side. Basically the display is shifted four inches to the left, leaving me with four inches of unusable monitor real estate on the right. I've trouble shot it, to no avail and the monitor's display settings only allow me to shift the monitor's display an inch or so. I need something like catalyst control center that will allow me to shift the monitor's picture as much as I'd like. Any ideas?

i am trying to hook up my media centre to my plasma tv and i turn on the computer the windows ex sign comes up but when it loads a bit further the screen goes blank and it tells me on the screen that its a 'Invalid Format'. i dont know how to fix the problem, ive tried doing it on the help screen on the tv but it doesnt work. i dont know how to adjust the resolution and frequency.

Any help would be much appreciated.

A:Solved: Invalid Format

Most likely its because the TV is limited to just a few resolutions it can accept from a PC. You'll need to read the spec sheet or manual for the TV to find which resolutions should work for the connection type you are using.

Then you'll probably need to attach a computer monitor to set the resolution and refresh rate if need be, to a compatible one before hooking it back up to the TV.

Yes, you can call MS anytime with Windows activation problems. There should be a phone number that comes up on your screen when it tells you it's invalid.

you probably packet-wrote stuff to the CD, which is the equivilant of writing data to a HD that's unpartitioned; the data is there, but nothing is going to read it without help. A:VDD Format In Registry Is Invalid

I see this is your first posting. Welcome to TSG!

I have not seen your problem before but I did a search for you and found at:

This error is caused due to an unknown problem that exists in the Registry. Clicking on Ignore is a temporary solution that should allow the Backpack software to install. The permanent solution is to fix your Registry by performing the following:

Anyways, having said that, I have an ASUS eeePC netbook here with Windows XP SP3. Every time I try to boot it, it loads windows and, right before it should be showing the logon screen, gives me the error:

lsass.exe - System Failure
the endpoint format is invalid

... in a dialog with just an "OK" button. Upon click "OK", however, I am send back to the POST screen, and it will keep doing this over and over again until I shut it off.

Safe mode, Safe Mode with only command prompt, etc. won't work either, so I can't edit the registry or uninstall anything.

So... has anyone found a solution to this issue, or is it just up to re-installing the OS?

If I do have to re-install the OS, well... here's the problem...
1. It's a netbook with no optical drive
2. It didn't come with any recovery or OS CDs - so I don't have a copy of windows to reinstall.

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

I have two shared workbooks on a novell fileserver. 2 differnet users accessed these two files each running Excel 97. A third person began accessing and modifying the files a few days ago. Since then the two files have become corrupted twice. I have looked at the 3rd person as a suspect but see nothing different about their configs. What could continually cause a workbook to become corrupt?

A:Excel file format invalid

I have found that many users can still open these files using Word and I still get this niggling little feeling that for some reason they're saved from Word because mailmerging is often involved. If you can open them using Word, click inside the table that is created, hit Table-Select table, copy, and paste back into Excel. Formatting and formulas are lost.

Sorry, no answer as to the cause--just know it happens all the time. (I think it has something to do with the permissions/releasing of the file on the server.)

Hi everyone, I'm trying to connect my Dell XPS L702X laptop to my Vizio 37-inch tv (E370VA). I have the HDMI cable going from the only HDMI port I have on my laptop to my tv and it just says Invalid Format on my TV. I have tried all 4 HDMI ports on my TV with same results. I have also tried 4 different HDMI cables with same results. I can connect this laptop to my Phillips 52 inch tv and it works perfectly. I have used the same HDMI cable on that TV with the Vizio TV but it will either say Invalid Format, No Signal and some times it will just be a black screen. I have lowered the resolution on my laptop and tv with no results. It's weird because it used to work, but my nephew one day knocked my laptop over and it bent the HDMI cable so I can't use it anymore. That's why I'm in this boat BUT, like I said, I just connected this laptop to my tv downstairs and it works. And I tried different HDMI ports on the TV just in case that port was ruined since this happened. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I have been experiencing an odd problem off and on which escapes a clear resolution. Boots fail with the message, "lsass.exe The endpoint format is invalid". The system works in safe mode but fails on a normal boot.

I'm running XP Home, 1g ram, dual 120gb RAID drives, Asus motherboard with onboard networking using Marvel Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E gigabit ethernet.

I've already done the XP repair routine (twice). Applied all updates. This doesn't seem to correct the basic issue.

My most recent fix was to allow windows to reallocate the paging file. This got me past the boot error, but brought up windows with an error declared in Device Manager relating to the network card driver. Removing the driver and allowing windows to scan for hardware fixes the networking issue.

Unfortunately, a reboot again returned to the boot error. Simply rebooting again got me past that but back to the bad driver for the nic. On the reboot after a successful fix, it seems to boot twice.. then lands on the lsass.exe error.

I've looked via Google for others having the same problem. Threre are MANY listed, but none offer up a solution that's definitive.

Anyone have suggestions?

After many frustating attempts I finally got "INCD" installed and running. However when I drug(or is that dragged?) an MSDOS based set of files onto my newly created, formatted CD disk I get an error message that says -

The very same program runs just fine from my C: harddrive. What pray tell is the problem??

A:Nero/invalid format problem

I assume you're going thru the wizard on how to create a Data CD, or something like that. Are you dragging the files from the righthand side of the program, to the left, as in the tree?

Also, are you just dragging using the left mouse button, and not the right?

Is that error coming up after you've fully burnt it? If so, you may have some hidden files that need to be copied.

Windows Explorer | Tools | Options. View tab.

Look for Show Hidden Files and folders. Tick that. Apply and OK.

I messed up display settings for when I attach a TV via HDMI to my laptop. I set the system to display only on the TV (OK, not a totally stupid idea) and then picked a resolution the TV doesn't support (that was TOTALLY stupid!) When I disconnect the TV, laptop display works as normal. As soon as I connect the TV, laptop screen blanks and TV goes to Invalid Format. I have tried to change display settings through the control panel with the TV disconnected, but as soon as I plug in the TV, it goes back to the bad resolution on the TV and no laptop display.

Is this stored in the registry somewhere? I want to reset the flag telling the system to display only on 2nd display.

Please help

A:Invalid Format when laptop connected to HDMI TV

Hi OldWraith, welcome to the Seven Forums.

This should work:Connect the TV, don't mind the Invalid Format warning
Press WIN + P to open Display Switch dialog. You don't see it as it's on the non-working TV display but trust me, it's there:
(Screenshot from our tutorial Display - Change Main Display)
Press Right Arrow > Press Enter to change from Display 2 only to Display 1 only

ok you MCSE guys,

Isass.exe-system error
The endpoint format is invalid

I tried to look it up to see if I could find anything in the KB but I'm not the best with it yet, and I know several of you guys have found things for me that I could not. So I hope you can find a link for me...

Right now I just boot into 98se and use that. But would like to fix XP or reinstall it on the other part of the partition.

As always your help is always apprieciated

A:Isass.exe error/ The endpoint format is invalid

I really can't find anything that exactly matches the error that you give, but "The Endpoint format is invalid" indicates a corrupted file of some sort. Most likely something that uses a remote procedure call.
Try using the last known good configuration for XP.

Start the computer and then press the F8 key when Windows begins to start. The Windows Advanced Options menu appears.

Use the ARROW keys to select Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked) , and then press ENTER.

If a boot menu appears, use the ARROW keys to select Microsoft Windows XP , and then press ENTER. Windows XP restores the computer to the most recent restore point.

Next thing I would try would be a repair of XP from the CD-Rom.

Boot from the XP cd and when it gives the option to run a repair, use that instead of a reinstall.

However, when I try to open any file I get an invalid file format error. I can copy the files across to my hard drive fine but again when trying to open the files I get the same error.
I think the disc must be corrupted in some way but does anyone know if I can do anything to allow me to open these files?

A:Can't open files from DVD - invalid file format error

As far as I'm aware theres not much hope I'm afraid. If the data was corrupt when written to DVD then theres nothing you can do. The only thing you can try is the DVD in another computer just in case your computer is playing up.

Pixel shading is what makes computer graphics seem so real. It works on a pixel by pixel basis, determining the lighting, shading, and color of each pixel - bringing infinite possibilities.

If I'm correct, anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, etc will affect pixel shading. For ATI, this can be done through Catalyst. NVidia settings should do the same.

Hi guys,

I'm currently running Vista Home Premium x64 with SP1 and I am trying to install SP2 but I get this error:

"the application binding data format is invalid"

I have uninstalled "Windows Live OneCare" and switched off the firewall and this has had no affect. I have also ran the "System Update Readiness Tool" and this has done nothing to help the situation either. Also tried the "The System File Checker tool". It got to 19% and then said "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation"
Also when I try to install IE 8, I get this error code "800736b2".

I had to do a system restore earlier today as something was causing Vista to lock up and I could only turn the PC off by holding the power button. This has resolved the issue of the lock ups. Don't know if this could have anything to do with it?

Any ideas on how to fix these issues as they are driving me absolutely crackers!

Thanks in advance for any help solving these issues.

I would like to inform you that the email address which you already have , you can not register the same email , while creating a new account with any other website.
It has to be different email address otherwise it will conflict with database of any domain.
Just an example: i have an email address [email protected] however i go to yahoo.com and i try to sign up with yahoo.com i would like to create the same email address [email protected] It cannot be created that email address because this domain is registered with ABC.NET already. Hence i would not be able to use this email address with any website you would like to sign up with so you need to ensure while creating a new account you do not need to type your own email address. Try to use different email name.

I've been having this issue for a while and my computer guy can't help me. I am really hoping someone can help me on this site.

After entering all my info on various websites while registering for a new account, I get an error message "Invalid Email Format". I am entering in the right email address correctly and have used other accounts as well, they are all gmail and yahoo accounts. This is an ongoing problem on my desktop, laptop and now my ipad. I did have a new wireless router installed and don't remember if this problem started before or after, could this be the issue? I can't even enjoy my ipad apps because I cannot register with HBOGO or pandora. I tried registering on shopping websites and cannot do so. It's very frustrating!

You are using the format <account>@yahoo.com, right?

If you suspect a weird router problem try with a computer connected directly to the modem.

I've read a few of these "invalid format" problems and didn't see one dealing with the problem showing up after windows update.  The original problem was that windows update would not work and run all night. So I followed the steps at this
After that windows update did it's first run (62 mandatory updates). once they were installed and the computer rebooted is when no picture would show up after the Microsoft logo.  I went back to the Restore Point before the updates and the machine works
fine.  Tried the steps on the link above a second time and the same thing happens.  I am wondering if one or more of these updates are causing the problems.
- I've swapped out VGA cards, changed resolution after booting up in Safe Mode, went into MSCONFIG and shutdown all the none MS updates and lastly I started removing updates in reverse order of installation, but stopped at 52 remaining to send this out to
everyone and see if I could get an assist.  Thanks

I have a logitech mouse that has a smooth scrolling wheel no ratcheting. I wonder if it was possible to set up scrolling to scroll pixel by pixel rather than line by line. Anyone know?

A:scrolling pixel by pixel rather than line by line?

I don't know if it can be done or not, but I am certainly curious as to why one would want to do this?

I've read a few posts so far about how to fix it and what program to use. Well, I've tried the DMIEdit, but it's incompatible. I don't have the money to take it anywhere so I'm not sure what to do. I'm running a H50-55.

Hi everyone,

I recently accidentally formatted a hard drive. So, I quickly install a file recovery software (EaseUS Data Recovery). Then the result shows that most of SWF files are big in size. I think that lots of my files have been converted or combine with other files. So, how do I recover my files?

A:File format changed into other format after format a hard drive

This may not be the best answer, but I would recover the files first. That is you biggest concern right now. Then try to see what you need to do to fix them.

You can cut and paste the questions below on your New Thread to easily give the answers:

Current Operating System, pre-install ? Do you have a single OS on your computer, are you planning on multi-booting with this installation? Single OS (XP Pro SP3), and yes I want to dual boot.
? Are you multi-booting now? Yes! For reasons I will explain under Current Hardware, at startup I get a prompt to choose from two versions of the same OS (both had been working).
Current Hardware ? How many internal hard drives (HD) are connected to your system? 3
? Are they IDE or SATA? 2 IDE (D: Maxtor 60, G: Maxtor 80) and 1 SATA (C: WD 300). C is a newer drive, used to be G when it was first installed. G used to C. WD had some type of program that could copy drives, so I copied the old C to the old G, that flipped their drive letters. Since then I get the aforementioned dual boot screen for two versions of the same OS.
? How many DVD drives are connected to your system? 2
? Are they IDE or SATA Drives? I assume IDE.
? Any external HDs used? No.
? Are they connected by USB or eSATA? N/A
? Check Disk Management for any HDs listed with a yellow triangle and explanation point? All 3 HDDs seem to be recognized before and after installation.
? Is this a New Clean HD? No.
? Have you pre-formatted the HD? No.
Windows 7 installation details ? Which build number and version of Windows 7 are you installing? Not sure on this one, just got the family 3 pack upgrade at Costco. 7 Home Premium?
? Are you inst... Read more

A:Invalid IP Config + Invalid BOOT.INI = HELP!!

Just bumping my own problem, begging for some help.

Seriously, I'll be home in and hour or two, but I have no 'net on my PC until I get this figured out.

I have read a few threads, got a couple of things to try (like getting rid of Bonjour and repairing the boot.ini file), was just hoping for a little more.

If I get to post, then it will be about the fix obviously!
