Yoga C630 WOS Pen Support

Q: Yoga C630 WOS Pen Support

Which pen does the C630 WOS sold in the US at Best Buy support? I have a Lenovo Active Pen 2 that came with my Yoga 920 and it doesn't work. I also have a Thinkpad Active Pen that I use with my Yoga 720 15.6 and it also doesn't work. I paired the Active Pen 2 via Bluetooth, so I can launch the Windows Ink Workspace with the top button, but the screen itself does not register the pen.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I've been looking at the Lenovo C630 13" laptop with the Snapdragon processor. Want to run Linux on it. But thats a different topic. The 8GB/256GB model seems the best deal, but I have NEVER seen in stock since I started tracking it almost a month ago. Is it typical of Lenovo to have a laptop model be continuously out of stock for an extended period of time, or does it indicate that Lenovo has discountinued the model or is working on a replacement? Since I've been studying this, there's only one configuration that is consistently available. The 8GB/128GB model is usually available on the website and is also available at most Best Buy locations. The 4GB/128GB is sometimes available on the website. But the 8GB/256GB has never appears available. Not sure why they bother to list it if its not available.

A few months ago I started having problems with the microphone and video freezing.  Two weeks ago the microphone died while trying to use it with zoom.  doing further analysis the other day shows that it's not working with any product that uses it.  It also doesn't work if I use a bluetooth device with a functioning microphone.   Apparently this is a known issue according to other postings i've seen, but now my warranty is 5 days over it's expiration date. As recommended on the support site, I rebooted, reset to original settings, to no avail.   Is there any workaround I can peform without having to pay an silly amount of money to get this fixed?

I'm not sure this issue will get to who it needs to, but I have found a couple of issues with the Yoga C630 WOS Firmware version 1.33. First is that it no longer boots off of USB keys that are larger than 32GB without a little... help...  If you put 2 USB keys that are larger than 32GB in (so 1 in each USB port), then the one on the left side (sim card, power led) will show up as "UEFI: USB Hard Drive", whereas the one on the right (headphone jack, power button) will show up as "UEFI: USB USB Hard Drive" and it will boot from the device in the left port.If only 1 USB key larger than 32GB is plugged in, it shows up as "UEFI: USB USB Hard Drive" and will not boot from it, even when selecting it with the boot prompt.  It simply boots into Windows.  Booting from a 128GB or even 256GB USB key was possible without the hoops of connecting multiple devices on the 1.23 firmware, so it would be nice if whatever change was made that makes this not work, could be reverted? The second (possible) issue is that virtualization support isn't turned on.  This is unfortunate as it means that WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux version2) is not supported on the Lenovo Yoga C630 WOS device, whereas the Samsung Galaxybook2 which has a firmware dated the same DOES have the support turned on, and WSL2 works on it.  It would be nice if the developers behind the firmware could enable the support.  I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, or how to get these... A:do you have to use Sim card in Lenovo yoga c630 to use the device?

No. You don't need to have a SIM card for the Lenovo Yoga c630 to be able to use it. The SIM card slot is used on the laptop if you want to have a cellular data connection to be able to access the internet if there isn't a Wi-Fi connection available. You will need to have a data plan on the SIM card that you are going to use. Cheers

I had some strange battery behaviors with my YOGA C630 WOS. It feels more like a sotware/firmware issue, but I am not certain.  The basic premise is that the notebook stops charging at around 79-80%. If I monitor the charging current, it charges at about 10-15W in the beginning, then begins to slow down and gradually drops to 2-3W and then stops when reaching 79-80%. In essence it behaves as if the battery would be fully charged at that point, even though it is not.  I tried draining the battery and charging from empty, but it gives the same results.  Also, while plugged in at 80%, if I remove and reconnect the charger, sometimes it will charge for a little bit again, before stopping again. Rarely I have also seen it start charging for a brief period. So sometimes it went up to 86%.  I did get to fully charge it maybe once or twice.  Battery wear is currently reported at 5%, althoug it did change during the lifetime of the product. Actually it jumped around a lot in the beginning (6%-14%-8%-19%) before settling on 5%. Now it has been at 5%. (I started using the device in April, so it is not very old).  The battery lasts for a really long time, so this has rarely been a problem for me, but would still be nice to have a solution to it. It almost feels like as if it had a charge limit set, but there are no options or ways I know of where you can set a charge limit in a non-thinkpad Lenovo. Since there are no drivers to ... I have been thinking of purchasing a Yoga 920 with a FHD screen because the configuration is reported to have substantially better battery life.  However, the preconfigured FHD version currently being offered does not include a pen but offers the pen as an accessory. Some background, several years ago I purchased the OG Yoga 15 assuming all versions included active pen support because, at the time,  the specs did not say something equivalent to "certain configurations only."   I do not want another Yoga that doesn't have active pen support.  Do ALL Yoga 920 configurations sold in the U.S. support active pen (i.e. have a screen digitizer) ?

Hello, First of all - I am angry and I will not hide this. Polish Lenovo 3rd party support actually makes me sick of whole company, below, short story how Lenovo brand from "recommending to everyone" turned into "do not recommend at any circumstances".  I bought a Yoga 910, paid in poland 6700 PLN which after currency exchange to USD is almost $2000. Reason for this was mainly - I trusted that if I buy it, OOBE will be great for years. Turned, I was totaly wrong.  Few days after I bought this laptop, my screen started leaking pixels, on bottom right side, there were leaked pixels to the point that after long usage, especially under charger, whole right side of the screen had big color lines, right where taskbar icons were. I have send this laptop to RMA, after a week I got it back and here the extreme disappointment begins: - Screen rotation sensors were dead- Tablet mode was dead, keyboard was normally working when I tried to use it as a tablet- Hinge connecting screen and body is loose, half of the elements move, in short - in terrible state I have sent is again to RMA as service complaint stating all of above. What have support done: - Fixed sensors- Didn't fix the hinge, it is in even worse condition now- Laptop body was dirty, I had to clean up some weird red fluid from it- Camera is broken to the state that hardware managment shows it as a simple PC Camera with hardware ID of..... an chinese USB stick. My Lenovo Yoga 900 has a cracked screen. I called Lenovo and the rep that I talked to told me they don't do repairs and told me to take it back to Best Buy or to another computer repair tech to have it repaired.   Best Buy said they couldn't replace the glass and neither could the tech that I took it to. This seems absurd.  Why would anyone pay over $1200 dollars for a laptop that can't be repaired if needed?  I'm at a loss, I don't know what to do and I want it fixed.  Does anyone have any suggestions? I just find it very hard to believe that Lenovo won't repair their own merchandise.

A:Can't get support for Lenovo 900 yoga

Who did you call?  If you have a nearby Lenovo Premier dealer near you, you might carry it in.  It certainly can be replaced.  (It might be expensive.) The manual indicates that the entire assembly (hinges, lid, etc.) are replaced as a unit, but I'm sure it can be taken apart, but I I have never done so I cannot describe it.  I have done similar models and they took less than 1/2 hour.  My guess is that it simply snaps together, but as I said, I haven't done it so I don't really know.

Dear Lenovo, I am writting to complain about your equipment as well as the technical support team you have in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (GBM Dominicana; GBM-DR). I bought a brand new Yoga 2 Pro laptop from a friend that brought it from the U.S. last year, in its box and seals intact, full warranty, for around 900 USD. After having it for 9 months (and roughly 6 of use), and several visits to GBM-DR, this faulty equiment is useless!! Here is the recap: 1. First, a "tag" was making contact with the CPU fan. GBM-DR ordered a new fan and change it. 2. Then, the WIFI connection kept dropping. After checking, GBM-DR decided to replace the wifi card, which took like two months. As you can imagine, I spent whole month using the computer for non-internet purposes. 3. Afterwards, I took it again to GBM-DR because this time the machine did not turned on. I demanded for a new equipment since this one was giving me so much trouble, but the people at GBM-DR told me that ordering a replacement for this machine was not possible. The motherboard was damaged and the repairment would take 2 months. I was left 2 1/2 months without computer, and very unsatisfied. 4. When they returned it, the keyboard lights weren't turning on, so I had to come back. They fixed that right away. 5. Lastly, on last december I brought the computer because the screen started to flicker and black out for no reason. The people at GBM-DR told me that my warranty was over and I ... Read more

The same thing happened to me. I haven't even used the computer for the last 3 months because "support" just kept saying they couldn't help me because it was a software problem - and there was NOTHING on my computer but what it came with. Still under warranty and I'm out of the USA, I too feel cheated. I told the service to look up the problem on this site because it's not only me. She said, it's only me. Nice! I can send this back to America. It's taken about 30 hours of trying to fix it myself, now I just avoid it. I know this is a problem with the configuration of LENOVO and Windows 10 because the same things happened when I updated my Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 from Windows 8 to 10. I bought my wife a brand new Yoga 920 for Christmas in December 2017 for 1,299 dollars plus tax.  It was blazing fast. Set up was so smooth. The computer operated flawlessly. Best computer we have purchased in years. Only 4 months later, April 19th, when we tried to wake the computer up, it would not start. They keyboard backlights and power button would just flash. That was it. The screen stayed dark and nothing would happen. I called Lenovo support and they had me run through some basic troubleshooting and eventually told me the laptop had a hardware failure and I would have to send it back to them OR I could just bring it to a local Best Buy for repair. Since Best Buy was only 5 miles from my house, I brought it there. Only to be told by Best Buy that they don't repair them and they had to ship it to Lenovo anyway.  It took a month to get it back. So for a month we were without the computer. Then when we got it back, it was filthy. I'm interested in buying a Yoga 900, fact is I have nearly made up my mind. One issue is that I really need to use external displays, on the road for presenting, but this is easy. At home I want to hook it up to my KVM (requires VGA) and cabeled internet connection. For home use, I've been considering a USB-C adapter from Startech, the DKT30CHV: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-USB-C-Multifunction-Adapter-Laptops/dp/B01EKARUUS/ref=sr_1_19?ie...What do you think, should I go with this or with a more standard USB 3.0 based port replicator? Will the above work? Anyone who tested? I have not had a USB-C equiped device yet, so I am a bit unsure. My alternative is something like the Startech USB3SDOCKHDV:https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Universal-Laptop-Docking-Station/dp/B00DNULJHW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF...The latter is more expensive, but I guess that is because the latter has "it's own" video adapter. What do you suggest? Which is the best / safest choise? Thanx/Karlsson
