Getting redirected to ps4ux then india-zed.com when clicking at links

Q: Getting redirected to ps4ux then india-zed.com when clicking at links

Like the title said, when I clicked at a link, Chrome would sometimes open up a new tab, contents being the page I clicked the link at, while the old one turned into ps4ux then india-zed.com. And when I clicked a link on Google, I would always open a new tab, with the old tab sometimes staying as it is or turning into ps4ux. Doesn't happen if I clicked a link right when the page still loads though.

Using Chrome at Windows 7 64-bit. Already tried cleaning with Malwarebytes and Hitmanpro to no avail. They detected a bunch of things but the problem is still not fixed. Tried the Junkware Removal by Malwarebytes but it keeps saying Permission Denied even though I've run it with admin rights. Dunno if the scan is successful.

I have no idea where I got this malware. I didn't download anything shady. It just came out a few days back out of nowhere.

Preferred Solution: Getting redirected to ps4ux then india-zed.com when clicking at links

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It seems blocking all third party cookies solve the problem temporarily. There are these two cookies that keep coming out no matter what the website is, titled connectionstrenth.com and urlvalidation.com. And I notice whereever the malware is active, chrome will show it's blocking a pop up page and an Adobe Flash Player from activating.

EDIT: It is the same problem with google, that many are having. Looking for specific instructions as i obviously don't want to screw it up.
Well i don't what is wrong at all, what has been happening is that in the past 2 weeks or so, every time i click on (most specifically) a google link, it will redirect me to a new page. How i get around this is to either open in a new tab, or to refresh the google search page and then click on the link. I thought it was just a google error at first, but after reading this thread: http://forums.techguy.org/virus-other-malware-removal/587195-solved-google-links-redirect-many.htm I'm now thinking that i may be infected with something.

Ran an AVG Complete Computer Scan, and as with most people, no virus's were found.

This happens both with IE and Firefox

More Details about the bug:

Here's a list of things that happen:

Google Link error- when clicking on a google link, occasionally it will redirect me to something with the name along the lines of results5.google

When clicking on a link of off google, occasionally it will redirect me to a page that doesn't load (example: Youtube.com, will go to it, then very quickly go to another page called Youtube.com, but it won't load)

When using IE a link will be redirected AND opened in a new window.

Youtube specifically, i can't get to youtube at all, even typing it in in the browser URL. The way to get to it is to search say (Youtube (video name) o... Read more

Seems whenever I click on a link it doesn't go to the site that it should.  This happens both on Firefox as well as Chrome browsers.

In addition, there are times when booting up the computer that it is very slow.   Can take like up to 15 minutes to boot up.  Sure this is an old computer, but it seems it is taking forever now.   Hasn't been that long in the past.   Also have seen chkdsk being run as well during the boot process.

A:Clicking on links get redirected

Also while in Chrome and Firefox browsers. the URL addresses display look very suspicious  (ie.  2008.www.(web site).com)

Plus the computer doesn't close down properly...wheels spinning when shutting down at the Shutting Down screen.

Also should mention that the operating system is Windows Vista.

Thanks!

Hi,I've been having a problem for about the past week or two that wheneve I click a link it will redirect me to a random webpage that I did not intend to go to or it will open Google or Yahoo! in another window. I googled the problem and it referred me to HijakThis, which then redirected me to this forum. I hope that you can help me to get rid of this problem, as I am not very technologically advanced and as I have also seen that the outlooks for some of the others on this forum with the same problem have been rather bleak. The majority of the time when I click on a link in both IE and Firefox I am redirected to other suspicious sites, many of the sites are either generic search pages or security warning sites. I am guessing that this due to some sort of malware. I have done a Hijackthis scan and have pasted the log below. Please help me, I am not very computer security savvy. Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to Bleeping Computer!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems. I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.
We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.
Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.
Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.
A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE:... Have noticed on a few sites that when I click on a link, I get redirected to the incorrect one.   Of course, going back to the original site and clicking on that link does get me to the correct site.   And it's not all the time.  Have noticed it more so of late so I suspect I have some sort of malware on my computer.

Thus hopefully I can get this item removed since it can be quite annoying!

I am running on Windows Vista (Pro I believe, but don't hold me to that!) and used Norton as my virus checker.

Thanks

Greetings!

Seems this is making the rounds.
FF has been removed from computer
IE still has the redirecting errors: opens it own windows, redirects when links are clicked etc

Spybot Search and Destroy, Malwarebytes cannot find any files (ran both in regular and safe modes)

I have hijack on system and can post logs if requested
Same with DSS

Ran GMER and got /device/harddisk0/dr0 rootkit like messages on several sectors.

I have no idea how to get rid of this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

When I click on a google link or even a bing link my page gets redirected to places like spyware scanner and fake search engines. I know its a virus or some sort of malware/ Spyware. It only takes control on links.

If you type something in the address bar or sometimes just open it in a new tab your fine. This happens in both IE and Firefox. I am running windows 7 and I have had no other problems. I have scanned the computer with spybot and avg 9 both in safe mode and in normal mode still nothing. Here is my hijack This! log.

A few days ago I most probably got infected with malware. Suddenly my Firefox was (and when checking also Chome and IE) showing advertisement all over the place. In addition, there appear some words in the regular text of web sites (no matter which site, also yours) that are printed bold like this "bitdefender" and when you run over it an advertisement appears. But also when I move my pointer without clicking over the topic "Forum Rules" on the site where I am typing in this post, an ad appears for a few seconds. Then, when you click on a link on a site, either a new window opens with a completely other address which is an add again or the tab you are on opens another site. When you close this you come back to the original site and sometimes you see the link you originally intended to reach or sometimes you must click again and then it goes. There are also combinations of these problems so it is getting worse from time to time. Sometimes, when you want to fill in a open field (say a search subject) or even click just on a space on a page which does not have a link at all, you are also immediately directed to a site with ads even before you have typed in one letter in the search field. That is scary when you want to enter a bank account for instance. Now, I have run Malwarebyte several times, JRT several times, HitmanPro same, bitdefender and the whole lot. I installed Adblock Plus and I also have Kaspersky anti Virus and they all find infections and repair or destroy... Read more

Hi, I have win vista sp1 and am getting redirected when I click on links in google, and I also get redirected when hitting links at websites. Today this is happening most of the time. I noticed it seemed to start yesterday, though not sure. I noticed some links bring up page not found or a blank page at a site as well. I don't know if there are other problems yet, but as soon as I noticed this keep happening today, I came here and am posting.

I ran malwarebytes full scan which came back clean. Yesterday I ran a full scan of my antivirus and that was clean.

Thank you so much for helping me. I look forward to your directions.

Usually I am careful, but unfortunately on a slight lapse of judgement I installed a faulty program (from CNET I believe) that I think contained some sort of malware.

There are now advertisement links on random key words in website text. Also, 1/3 times I click on legitimate links (like the Sign In link on BleepingComputer) I get a new tab opening on Google Chrome to multiple advertisement sites.

I notice two different names on the text links. They are "Kontera" and "Text-Enhance".

I tried running Ad-Aware as well as Malwarebytes, but both end up freezing after about an 1H 30M into the scan.

I'm running Windows 8 x64-bit.

A:Advertisement Links in Text, New Advertisement Windows Open When Clicking Links

The double-underlined random words you are referring to is called in-text advertising and it is very common. Kontera, Text Enhance and Vibrant are are some of the more popular advertising networks that provide in-text advertising and information services. The double-underlined word is actually a keyword embedded within text of a web page. The keyword is intended to provide consumers with information that is related to what they are reading. When hovering your mouse over this keyword, a pop up ad is displayed with a preview of the ad the text links to. This process works by allowing webmasters to insert JavaScript code into web pages that displays relevant advertisements from an inventory of advertisers. This script scans a web page and dynamically modifies keywords an advertiser has targeted on the page and double-underlines them. The words and the double-lines under them are usually blue in color but it is not uncommon for them to appear in various other colors such as red or green. In-text advertising is a form of contextual advertising commonly used to promote business and generate revenue to offset the cost of maintaining a web site each time a website visitor clicks on an in-text ad. Advertisements from in-text ads also help to generate targeted traffic to a website and improve their natural search engine ranking.Delivering ads to users based on their preferences. I had a problem with something called adyieldmanager just before christmas. I managed to get rid of that but ma now having problems with getting redirected when i click a link. It may be connected with the adyieldmanager problem or not.

What happens is that I search within google and then click one of the links. this then redirects to a different page than the one i wanted. When i click back and then click the link again it normally takes me to the correct link. Sometimes it redirects to one page and then another.

I have run a complete scan with Lavasoft adaware and also with spybot. I have also run CC Cleaner. The problem occurs in Firefox and Internet Explorer.

DDS.txt text as follows. Other files attached.

Hi,

please do the following:

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

* IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.
When finished, it sh... Read more

Get a quality local non-AOHell ISP. Having AOL is your problem.

***

You need to be running a firewall like free Sygate from http://download.com - type, sygate, in the Search box, you must be on-line to register Sygate.

***

Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com or http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm and click the Scan Now link to run a free on-line virus scan.

***

With AOL running and on-line initiate Internet Explorer - Start button; Programs; Internet Explorer. That's a temporary work-around to your issue.

One easy way to cure this issue is for you to backup your email contacts for AOL, their technical support will tell you how, good luck, then uninstall all AOL entries in the Add/Remove Programs control panel then restart your computer. Back at Desktop re-install AOL.

***

What anti-virus are you using? If you're running Mcaffee anti-virus and have not recently paid for a one year subscription to download weekly new virus definitions, you might consider getting free AntiVir 6 from http://free-av.com - Uninstalling Mcaffee; Restarting your computer and installing free AntiVir Anti-virus 6.0.

Hi There I have read your post and I think it would be wise for you to post a HijackThis log for an expert to review. I bet you are wondering what HijackThis is. Well it's a program that is simply able to show others what's going on inside your computer, in terms of infection etc..I recommend you follow the HijackThis preparation guide which can be found here. It is important that you follow the guide closely. A number of scans will be run which may well fix your problem. As the guide says, after you have completed the scans that are recommended, please post your "HijackThis" log in a new topic in the forum found here. Please add your system infomation and also what problems you are having. Please wait for a few days and one of our experts will get onto fixing your computer for you. Please be aware that this new year we have been swamped so it may take a week for a reply.David

I installed Mozilla Firefox to see if that would let me search without redirecting to this website. It still went to this alphahit.com website. This tells me that it is deeper than a browser.

Specifically I type in Google.com and it works properly. In the google search I type in any topic and press enter. It pulls up items I can click on. The problem is when I click on any of them that is when it takes me directly to alphahit.com.

I can copy the address that is at the bottom of each item and paste it into web address area and it will take me to the proper site.

I keep getting redirected to bogus sites when clicking on search results.
I have booted up with Ultimate Boot CD and ran all the recommended scans. There was some malware found and deleted, but I am still getting the redirects.
I'm also getting alot of internet exporer script errors. I have reset to internet explorer defaults and I have disabled script debugging in internet explorer advanced options (including debugging others).
I have tried using emisoft anti-malware, super anti-spyware, lavasoft ad-aware, rootkitbuster, all to no avail. Some of them found malware and supposedly deleted it, but I still get the redirects and script errors.
