Printer in control panel show the wrong language

Q: Printer in control panel show the wrong language

I install windows and driver with the <g class="gr_ gr_321 gr-alert gr_spell ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" data-gr-id="321" id="321">thai</g> installer. Now I want to change the language to English. I
changed Home location, Language for non-Unicode, Language for display and copy to welcome screen and new user. I tried to reinstall the driver but it still Thai. Sorry for my English. Thankyou!

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hey,im in some trouble here. I tried to conect my TV to my PC (already did alot of times and it always worked) but it didnt recognize it. So i think i selected the "split screen" and now i can open everything normal on my monitor, except the control panel. Control panel goes to the right, like there was no end to the monitor. Also if i move a icon out of my monitor in the right, the icon disapears like its on a imaginairy screen. Now all this would be fine,if my pc would recognize my TV after all this, but no. So im stuck with a monitor which thinks it never ends in the right side. How can i fix this?

And see if it opens there?

What can I do to get these services to show again in Control Panel's "Services" display? BTW, other services (e.g. DNS Service) *do* show in "Services".

is there a solution for this coz i really like it at first glance coz its a full screen control panel and i like that metro style

A:Control Panel App doesn't show up nor open

Hello Skream,

Do you mean that the Control Panel app is not on the Metro Start screen?

Control Panel - Open in Windows 8
If so, then you could create a Metro Apps shortcut from the first tutorial below, create a shortcut of Control Panel to pin to Apps, then pin it from Apps to the Metro "Start" screen in the second tutorial below.

Odd problem. Yesterday I wanted to check the status of the batteries in my Microsoft wireless mouse, so opened Control Panel, and clicked "Printers and Other Hardware" (whose icon actually shows a mouse). Choices are Pick a task: View installed printers or Add a printer. Under "or Pick a Control Panel icon, I have only Printers and Faxes, and Scanners and Cameras. THE MOUSE ISN'T A CHOICE, AS IN NOT THERE! In order to get to the mouse, I have to switch to classic (Win98) mode, which contains an icon for the mouse.

Wasn't that way we I first got the computer. Why doesn't my mouse show on the XP style of the Control Panel?

Hi all. My girlfriend has an Acer Aspire laptop on Windows XP (Russian language OS) which I have just connected to an Epson CX7300 printer (purchased in Russia). The printer is connected to my English laptop and all is fine, but when connected to the Russian one, the print information window just comes up with vertical bars (e.g. IIIIIII).
Some windows come up in English and some others come up in what looks like it could be Arabic, written from right to left!
I selected Russian language from the menu when I first installed it and this problem arose. So, I uninstalled it and reinstalled, selecting Russian again and got the same problem.
Russian language is in the list, but somehow it's gone to Arabic!!!
Can anyone help me with a solution?
Thanks, Mark

Hi Everyone,

I have been struggling with getting my SLI to work.

The VGA cards are:
Connected via SLI link.
Connected to power.
Connected correctly on the Mother Board.

My Mother Board is SLI compatible.
My PSU is SLI compatible.
My drivers are installed and up to date.
I have re-installed my drivers as well.
I have updated my Bios as well. (During which my Primary drive got corrupted and I had to start all over)

Nvidia Control Panel is STILL not giving me any SLI configuration options. It detects that both VGA cards are connected and I can select which core to use, but nothing about SLI.

I'm stuck and need to be pointed in the right direction.

Can anyone offer some advice?

Thanks in advance!

A:Nvidia Control Panel doesn't show SLI options

I know you said you've updated the bios but have you checked for settings related to SLI in the BIOS? There may be a setting to enable it.

Also from some of the forums I've read, people have resolved a similar issue by rolling back the Realtek Ethernet driver, apparently this is related to the Z68 boards. May be worth a shot at least since updating the driver would be simple enough.

Hi Windows Seven Forums,
I'm walking through what should be a very easy FTP server install from the Windows 7 Features. This walkthrough is great...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrzNPq-B6Ts

Unfortunately, when I click on:

Control Panel
Programs and Features
Turn Windows features on or off
Internet Information Services plus sign
FTP server plus sign
FTP Extensibility check box is clicked which highlights all FTP server check boxes
Click OK.
Microsoft Windows then says Please wait while Windows makes changes to features. This might take several minutes.

Once installed, I click on:
Control Panel
Administrative Tools (click on View by: Large icons if you can't see Administrative Tools)
...and no Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager?

I have restarted the PC and removed unchecked the FTP server and restarted...what's happened?

A:FTP server doesn't show in control panel, administrative tools?

When installing applications they appear to install correctly. An icon is created on the desktop and I can access the program.

In control panel under programs and features... the application is not showing up. I cannot uninstall the programs, because they aren't showing in programs and features to uninstall.

Yes, workarounds can be used to delete the program, but there is something wrong. The programs are not installing properly.

I ran sfc/ scannow as admin no problems indicated
After a couple hours messing with this:

Thought I should add this... When I right click on the installer/setup exe file and select to run as administrator the installer works and does show up in programs and features... Also, I can delete the program as well from programs and features.

I have never had to do this before even though I am admin...(in name mostly) unless I am willing to allow more vulnerability to my system by turning on all the time. Still having to run as admin does seem a bit much for installing programs. The worst part...the installer will run, installs the program, yet leaves off the ability to uninstall or change in the programs and features page of control panel

However I would like them to have the ability to control their own print jobs and unpause printers etc. But when editing the policy I find that they get access to control panel at the same time and can do lots of possible damage.

Can I do this any way while minimising possible damage? We are running an NT4 network with some 95 and some NT workstations.

Hey everyone.

I have two problems which i have never encountered in all the years i have been a I.T Technician.

The first is a printer at work. We have two computers in the office linked via Cat5e.

Computer A has 2 network cards and Computer B accesses the internet through computer A by ICS. The internet works fine, but ive added the USB printer to Computer B. The printer has been added by the wizard selecting Local Printer and adding a virtual port. (I have also tried a network printer but still get the same after reboot)

Both computers are running Windows XP Pro although Computer B doesnt have SP2 installed

I can print fine until Computer B is rebooted, then i get an error about the Print Spool Service not running. I have checked everything but still cannot get it to work.

The second is with my computer, i have an icon in control panel which i have never seen before, and it does not have an label.
Sorry for the essay
M.Woodhouse

A:2 Probs. 1 printer, 1 control panel

I've never seen that icon...perhaps a Windows search (with hidden and system files included) for *.cpl might give you a list which might help find the culprit.

As for the spooler service, you might try renaming then reinstalling the spooler as suggested in Microsoft KB919750:

1. Click Start, click Run, type %windir%\system32, and then click OK.
Note %windir% represents the folder where Windows is installed.
2. Right-click the spoolsv file, and then click Rename.
3. Type oldspool, and then press ENTER.
4. Insert the Windows XP disk in the computer's CD or DVD drive. Press and hold down the SHIFT key as you insert the disk to prevent the Windows XP installation from starting automatically.
5. Click Start, click Run, type expand CD drive:\i386\spoolsv.ex_ %windir%\system32\spoolsv.exe, and then click OK.

Notes
Make sure that there is a character space between "spoolsv.ex_" and "%windir%."
CD drive represents the drive letter of the CD or DVD drive that contains the Windows XP disk. For example, if the letter of the CD or DVD drive is E, type the following, and then click OK:
expand E:\i386\spoolsv.ex_ %windir%\system32\spoolsv.exe

6. Restart the computer. Click to expand...

I can not get into my printer and faxes from control panel. It says it isnt responding. I have a brother HL-4040CDN laser printer hooked up too it and can not get it to print. This is a network printer. My wife cannot print from her laptop either. It all happened all of a sudden. I've tried to print in word on both computers and it says: printer has not yet responded but you can continue. Then word feezes up and stops responding. I am very confused on this issues and would greatly appreciate any help resolving this issue.

Hello everyone!!!

I'm having the same problem everyone else is with a pc I've been working with to build a database. I'm better at those type of things than debugging so here goes:

I was getting the message: "Windows cannot find C:\WINDOWS\system32\printer.exe" and unable to print. I downloaded hijacker and found something in there about printer.exe and unchecked it and had hijacker do it's thing. I'm not getting the message anymore but I'm still unable to print. As everyone else has, I'm not getting the control panel and when I can get to the printers it's giving me the message "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator"

Here is the first hijacker log:

Originally I had a yellow triangle over the laptop and printer.
I resolved the printer warning by uninstalling the drive and restarting the computer.

But I have no idea what to do with the laptop warning.

From what I've checked my laptop driver is up to date.

Iris can you please elaborate a little more on what you mean by a yellow triangle on your computer - it really doesn't conjure anything up in my mind as to what you might mean.

Over the last week or so, I've had a number of issues that I've spent hours trying to solve, with no luck. I think they're either virus issues or registry issues - or both. Nothing I've tried so far has worked...

Right now, I can't open my Windows Control Panel at all. I click it, and it starts to open and then closes. I also can't open System Restore. I click it and nothing happens.

I also can't print anything, and all my printers have been removed (printer, PDF, etc.). When I try to print (or add a printer), I get an error saying the local print spooler service is not running.

And presumably unrelated, I also can't right-click any files of any kind anywhere in Windows. I get error "explorer.exe fatal application exit" saying module cannot be found, referencing Adobe CS4 Version Cue.

I tried a registry repair program, AVG anti-virus (which removed viruses, but made no improvement in these problems); ran MS OneCare anti-virus, and did a system restore a couple of days ago (when Restore was still opening). I also tried restarting in diagnostic mode, and there was no difference.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Mark

Hi mbradford101,

Yeah, it sounds like malware. Have you tried running SFC, Checkdisk.

Try DL Malwarebytes, Spybot SD. Run a full scan with those. Avast is good as well, you can run a boot time scan.

Hey Guys,
A couple of days ago I noticed that my system tray had two Security Center type pop up warnings that read "Your computer is infected". It kept referring me to some bogus spyware remover website. After doing some online research, I downloaded and ran SUPERAntiSpyware and that did remove them from the system tray. But now I'm left with no Control Panel in the start menu or anywhere else. In addition, System Restore runs but then says I can't restore to an earlier date. I also get messages saying "Access denied contact system administrator" or "This operation has been cancelled do to restrictions in effect on this computer". I ran HijackThis and here is the log for your review. Hope you can help me out. Thank you very much.

To download HJTsetup.exe from TrendSecure To Download HijackThis go to the following at the File Repository
Click on the link below to Download HijackThis Self Installer:

http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe

Save the file to your desktop.
Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\HijackThis.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialog boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialog.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialog box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
At the top of the Notepad HJT log screen, hit Edit then Select All then click Edit and then click Copy doing that copies the text to the clipboard, you won't see it yet....
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
A security expert with a gold shield to the right of their name should take a look at your log - please be patient.

Good evening,

I've noticed a difference in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Personalization between editions of Windows 10.

My wife's laptop is running Windows 10 Home, and her personalization screen looks like this:

I'm running Windows 10 Enterprise, and my personalization screen looks like this:

Notice that the menu options on the left, and quick access to change the theme settings on the bottom are missing from the enterprise screenshot.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it simply a difference between editions? Or is there a setting that is not turned on in my installation?

Thanks in advance!

My current workstation is running WIN XP PRO, SP2. At one point it was being used by my Russian stepson who put a bunch of games, etc. on it that were in Russian. After my own computer motherboard failed, I cleaned this workstation up but didn't reinstall windows [yet?] as I was hoping that this wouldn't be necessary.
Unfortunately, when I tried to install the setpoint software from Logitech, the splash screen and install instructions come up in Russian. The same thing also occured with one of my HP scanner programs. Although I have the language settings set to English, I do have the Russian keyboard language support also available so that my wife can type in Russian sometimes. But even though I have the language set in English [and it displays on the task bar as being in English unless I switch it to Russian], I can't download updates etc on the software that is "language" aware.
NOTE: I have called Logitech who didn't have anyone in their support area who could help me. We found one older version of the setpoint software that was showed up mainly in English although a few of the choices for location, etc. were displayed in a Russian language drop down list. even then.
I am guessing that there is some registry entry, etc. that the logitech and some HP software look at in order to provide a universal install program and the techs I talked too didn't know about?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm running windows XP on an old Dell Inspiron 1501 and I'm trying to get my microphone to play directly through my speakers so I can record them both simultaneously. The only answer I've been finding is to tick the 'microphone' checkbox in the volume control playback properties panel, but I don't have a microphone checkbox. There should be a 'microphone' box under SW Synth and CD player but I don't get one apparently.I've downloaded the latest SigmaTel Audio drivers from Dell and despite not having a problem with them before this, I'm inclined to believe that they're the problem. Any ideas?

A:No microphone control in playback Volume Control panel

Okay well of course I find an answer right after posting the topic:
http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3517/t/19295458.aspx
http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3517/p/18112824/18235810.aspx#18235810

Those two pages detail how to get an Input Monitor checkbox which functions just like the microphone one I wanted (although you can only mute it, not alter the volume). I used Instructional Set 3 from the second page, having to add the 'RecMonitorMute' entry as detailed in the first page and I can now hear my microphone input directly through my speakers.

HOWEVER, I'm still unable to record both the microphone and speaker sound at the same time. I thought recording the 'Stereo Mix' channel with the microphone coming through the speakers would work but it isn't and I don't know why. Any ideas?

Hello!
I got myself an Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ condenser microphone a few weeks ago, and I haven't really found out how I can change the gain, which I hear is important to do.
There is only one slider where the gain slider also should have been. The mic doesn't have a gain know like some other microphones have.

As you can see there is one slider. It only changes volume as far as I know.

How can I change the gain, is it needed, or can I maybe control gain using the volume slider?
If I can't change it directly through the mic or through the control panel, how can I change it? D:

Thanks in advance!

A:Can't control gain! No slider in control panel!

I have a recording studio (Sonar X3) and use several AT mics but they are not USB mics (such as the AT2035 and AT2050).

"Volume level" is the same as "gain". You can adjust the "Volume Level" or you can adjust the "gain" - both are the same thing. On mixers, amplifiers, etc, some will call the volume control "level" and others "gain".

A USB mic should have its own listing in the Sound/Recording Panel. Whatever slider that is has, such as what you show, should adjust the volume level. Many recording programs also have volume level adjustments.
