I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Opening up the machine will be required. Please see pgs 32-38 of your hardware manual:
Hope this helps.
Hello, I'm having problems with my battery removal. As my title shows, I have a Lenovo ideapad 100, and I am supposed to be sending it off for repairs. For my issue, I need to take the battery out because it's not part of the problem; however, I can't get it out. I read on here to take the base off, but when trying to do that, it seems that it's breaking the inner clips keeping it attached. I don't want to keep breaking these off just to pay for them to be repaired later on. Is there a simpler way to take this base off?Read other answers

I was wondering if anyone has upgraded or swapped out their hdd for a solid state drive on the Ideapad 305 15IBD? My specific model number is 80NJ00F5UK, I have been able to find an mSata ssd drive which says its compatible with the 305 IBD, but not the exact model number above. To be honest Im pretty happy with the performance of the 1TB hdd that i have but just want to confirm whether its possible or not to swap out for an ssd if I wanted to in the future. The main reason would be to squeeze a bit more battery life, as its one area where the laptop is a bit weak. mSata SSDhttps://www.ipc-computer.eu/notebook-spareparts/lenovo/300-serie/ideapad-305-15ibd-80nj005j/hdd-12Read other answers

Had the same problem. Tried to install Win7 in hope of making the HDMI output project my screen on external monitor, but gave up as got the same error messages as you did. Then installed Win 8.1 and made the external screen work...for about 5 minutes. Then installed Win 10 but external screen still ot working, tried at least 4 different VGA drivers, updated BIOS, etc. My conclusion is that there are serious driver issues with this laptop, Win 7 do not even bother trying. Try Win 8.1 or 10 and let me know if you can use HDMI to project screen ,and the driver version you use! ThanksRead other 2 answers

Hello All, I have a problem with my new Ideapad 100-15IBD that I received today. Wireless or Ethernet connection is horribly slow - I have 50Mb/s connection and laptop is using 4-5Mb/s max (just to mention even Chrome download takes about an hour with this connection speed/quality). I have it with W10, but also formatted and installed W7 to check, if maybe it's faulty Realtek drivers (I tried both from Lenovo Support website and Realtek ones). On both versions of Windows the problem occurs. I am now back to W10, so it's as fresh as it gets. I tried different settings of Network Card, tried looking through forums about similar problems, but can't find anything, so I was wondering if anyone, preferably Support Team, has any tips or ideas why it's like this. The Network adapters I see are:Bluetooth devices x2 (not important for me at this point I believe)Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller (tried meddling with this one, now working on default as it's fresh installation)Realted RTL8723BE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NICI of course got it from retail, it's brand new, so I do not see how it could be broken already (talking about network adapter), so I thought that it's maybe software problem? Also - I noticed it's working even worse on 802.11n only than mixed. Thanks for any tips,c. PS. Sorry for my English, I'm not native speaker (Polish).Read other answers
Didn't realize the laptop was unplugged and went completely dead sitting there for a month. Went to plug in to power up and nothing. Thought maybe cat chewed on charger cable and tested it and was only pulling 4v vs the 20v it's supposed to but tried new charger that Lenovo sent and still nothing. I've heard battery could be un-chargeable if left to completely die and sit for a while but still don't get why laptop won't boot up when plugged in. Am I dealing with something else internal in addition to a dead battery?Read other answers
So I just bought this laptop, and I installed windows 7, and it should have Intel HD Graphics 5500 + nVidia Geforce 920M 1GB. However, I cant find nVidia Geforce, and when I try to install driver, it says that driver cant find the hardware. Also, when I open device manager, I do not have nVidia under Display adapters section, only Intel HD Graphics 5500. Anyone knows whats up here? I have seen many solutions that involve changing .inf files but I cant even see the nVidia so that does not work for me.

I am interested in buying the lenovo ideapad 510s 14 isk. However, I know battery life is not really good (with a 2-cells battery of 30 WH). Does anyone know whether or not it is possible to replace the battery to a 3-cells? Furthermore, has anyone any experience with using a powerbank (I could only find powerbanks made for thinkpads) Thank you very much!Read other answers

My battery seems to charge very slowly when connected to AC and when I unplug I lose power in less than 20 minutes and the diagnostic says battery is in "Fair" condition and only charging at 41.38% of its original full charge capacity. When I called customer service since I am still under warranty, they just said I could send in the laptop for repair which takes about 7 business days or go to a Best Buy for the GeekSquad to repair. I went to Best Buy, but the Geek Squad said they would have to send it off for 13 days so none of this was helpful as this is my only laptop and I need it daily so to send it off for 7 business days would be difficult. Are there any other options for repair that reduce the time significantly? I can't believe Lenovo doesn't offer overnight shipping to expedite the processRead other answers

Hi there, Piers ?
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today
Did you try calibrating the battery?
Also, you can also start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 20 seconds.
Update us how it goes.

i have bought Z510 one year back, within this short time i am facing battery problem.Battery is not charging and the system to be keep in plugged condition at every use.I am a home user and use laptop for limited time.I dont understand why lenova has not provided detachable battery which can be change by user only. Now new battery is not available in the market ,moreover Lenova is simply shedding their responsibility by saying Laptop in not under warranty.I request Lenovo to go for root cause analysis of this problem as hundreds of people are facing same problem in this model.Hope Lenovo would provide some software for attending the problem or atleast give the details of service provider from where battery can be repaired/replaced.

Experiencing regular low bttery warnings with my Lenovo Ideapad 700 - battery status shows battery charge of 70%, then suddenly low battery warning appears, as well as battery icon changes for low battery icon, basically after a second the warnng disappears, as well as battery indicator shows battery charge of 70% again. This occurs randomly quite regularly. What could cause this? Quite annoying, although not a problem otherwise.Read other answers

I am having some problems with the battery on my Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13. I have searched the forum to find a mountain of topics with problems similar but not quite the same. I have also tried a lot of the suggestions to resolve the issue but none have worked so I guess i have to start my own thread. My Lenovo has been working fine (well has fine as could be expected with these machines) up until last week. I had been using the machine in work without issue and put it into the car (fully charged) to take home. When i went to use it again a couple of days ago I plugged in the charger as normal and turned it on, only to find it completely dead. The power machine didnt turn on and the power button didnt illuminate. My initial feeling was that i may have accidently turned the machine on while in the car and this had drained the battery. I also thought that perhaps the power supply was faulty so I bought a new one. When i tried the new power supply it was the same result as the original, (not turning on and no illumination on the power button). I went back to the original power supply, this time there was a fan noise (although the machine did not turn on), and the battery indicator flashed repeatedly orange (which i believe means the battery is below 5% and needs charging. So i left the oringal power supply plugged in overnight to charge. Next morning the battery indicator was still flashing repeate... Read moreRead other answers

The Lenovo Settings app for the Lenovo laptops doesn't have an adjustable threshold that I am aware of. The 60% is preset.

I have had my Lenovo IdeaPad Z410 since around January, and I have just recently expierienced the problem of the battery dropping to zero. What happens is my battery will be draining at a normal pace then all of a sudden my laptop will shut down and will not go back on as it thinks the battery is dead. If it is plugged when this happens then the orange battery low light will begin flashing and the message goes from saying "Fully charged (100%)" to "1% remaining (plugged in, charging)". This is quite annoying as I cannot take my laptop anywhere without fear of it randomly dying on me. I would assume I wouldn't need a new battery after only having the laptop for a few months. Also, if you are not familiar with this model, the battery is built in internally so I cannot try removing it and putting it back in myself. Any advice would be appreciated; I'd rather not deal with Lenovo's customer support unless I absolutely have to.
Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Based from your findings, it's possible that:
- the battery circuit inside is not working to unload the charge, or
- one of the battery cells have already reached its life span
- the chip that handles how the battery gets charge/discharge and checks the charge level of each battery cell (both are controlled by a firmware) is malfunctioning.
Batteries degrade overtime due to heat and daily use. If you're still under warranty, I recommend you contact lenovo and report the issue as you most likely need a replacement battery.
How Lithium-ion Batteries Work
I have a lenovo ideapad y510p and everything was fine until for I thought I'd do the battery reset in the lenovo energy management,at first the battery was dead and laptop wouldnt turn on,,I found one way around this which is that first I take the battery out and then insert the ac adapter, the laptop turns on then I put it in hibernate while I insert battery after which it seems to charge but only after I do these steps, but if I take the adapter out and insert it back in,it would stop charging.this is all because of the lenovo energy management software battery reset.I've uninstalled it but it doesnt work.any suggestions?I'm guessing one of the steps after full charge during the battery reset the battery gets drained where it says "plugged in and not charging" until it reaches zero is the problem.
