Ok to start of with, I have sent my laptop in twice to the depot because my fans were extremely loud and vibrated a lot. First time I get it back they replaced the fans, which made the vibrations stop but the fans were still running at full speed and super loud. I contacted support and they wanted me to send it again which I did. Now I get the laptop back with both vibrating fan and it running at full speed. HOW **bleep**TY CAN THE DEPOT BE. They even dare to put that they tested it extensively, i call bull**bleep**, It took me a second to realize my fans were at full speed and vibrating like **bleep**. How can they so incompetent. I need this laptop for my university courses and I havent been able to use it for the past 3 months. Which is the day since my university started.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

I have been wondering why there are two methods to get updates for my X1 Extreme.One update method is via the Lenovo Vantage application (under Windows 10 Programs)The other method is to go to the Lenovo Support page (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-...); I used the full URL with model number, but you can also use the main support page and use 'Dectect Product' which uses Lenovo Service Bridge to detect the laptop model and serial #. I have used both, but am probably going to stick with Lenovo Vantage. Which method are most of you using? PSell is similar in this regard. They also have multiple update apps / methods for some reason.

I keep trying to get to support but HP makes it **bleep** near impossible if I can't find my product number. I have my seriel number. HP's customer support is horrible. I upgraded my windows 10 and lost my beats audio in the process. The sound on my laptop is terrible now. Hi, i had problem with my Lenovo X Carbon 3rd Gen. The screen remains blank on starting laptop. It works fine while attached to external monitor over HDMI port. I have tried all the possible software tweeks like uninstalling last security patches etc. but nothing worked. I have opened a ticket since 18.August 2018 and telephoned with Service team. They asked me to send pictures of computer that i did immediately. They told me they have ordered new parts, later told me parts are now in house and a technical person should contact me shortly. Till date no one has contacted me. I have several telephone calls every other day, and they tell me they will ask the technical person to contact me. I have more than 100 days left for my warranty. I have urgent work pending but it seems Lenovo support don't really care. It's really bad service. I now really want to escallate the case to Lenovo management. Any ideas?

I have a new Lenovo P50 which was purchased for me by a friend while visiting US. Since the beginning there have been problems with touchpad not working. I took the laptop to Lenovo's authorised service center in Delhi twice, and both times was disappointed because the technician refused to look at the laptop making one excuse or the other. During the first visit, this guy was not sure if P50 was covered under international warrenty in India and wanted me to provide a proof that it was. I got in touch with Lenovo customer support and below is the email response I received.  Hi,

This is in response to your request. We want to inform you that all think products come under IWS. So, your product is also under warranty and you will get services in India.

LenovoI was astonished by this reply, becuase this is something I thought the technician ought to know or could have found out easily without asking me to get this information myself and wasting my entire day. I went to the sevice centre the second time with this email, and this time he drops another set of requirements on me. He wanted the original invoice for the laptop along with a copy of passport of the person whose name is on the invoice, without which he will not even look at the laptop. This laptop was purchased from Amazon US and I had the soft copy of the inovice with me... This is a rant to spit it out just once. X1 Yoga 3gen Win10 1903 WQHD 500 nits screen. (think this is important) Also a 1809 and a 1809 updated to 1903 and a fresh 1903 install. Tried them all. I am starting to get fed up with the way Lenovo and Microsoft manage things that affect my user experience.Normally I take these things as a challenge and do my research, try to figure it out and then some fiddling and it usually works.But now I get the impression they throw something up to see what sticks. First of all I have backups galore so it doesn't keep me from using the machine but hey, if you serve an update it just has to work.This machine is on the market now for 16 months straight and still having quirks. We had an update that bricked the WWAN card, they changed the card no problem but it looks stupid to begin with. They had all the problems with sleep and battery use and updated the hell out of it andthen they forget to enable USB suspend and take like a month to remediate after everybody on the forums found out to do these things in Powershell or Registry.How does the "normal" user that commutes with his now burning ultrabook handle this.They go bazirk with there ?2000 **bleep**box and they feel stupid for buying it in the first place.Just because Lenovo  pushed an update through the glorious Vantage app to optimize YOUR experience. Hello, I bought lenovo yoga 500 14 ISK on January 2016. After 1,5 years later i aware that there is some problem on the left bottom side (near the hinge) than one week later i saw that screen and back lid seperated from left bottom side and when i look at in i saw that the screw hole is broken from inside and the screw is not tightening the back lid anymore. And my pc never dropped. It is under 2 year warranty and after i sent my pc to Turkey technical service, they said that your actions are completed and when i see the pc right side is broken. First of all i do not want to take back but they said that you can not take pc back so they force me to take my pc. day  by day crack is going bigger and bigger. When i called technical service they said that me (laughing) i forced the pc lid which is 360 degree. and also they said to me opening the lid from only one side causes this problem.  It is not written anywheere taht "dont open lid from left or right side" . I used 7 -8 years lenovo and also2 years work pc laptop Lenovo in very hard conditions and there is no even 1 problem. But my latest pc is falling apart day by day . I seem to be constantly frustrated nowadays by a computer that truly is best described as being of the bleeping variety. I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium, and after all the problems experienced with Vista, I had thought things would improve. Silly me.
 
For reasons beyond me, it won't, or can't, do what I'd expect it to. I've run chkdisc (no errors found) and SFC (errors found, all corrected) and various malware / virus scans (no infections, no threats.) Yet simple ordinary routine tasks continue to be impossible, as per this list:
 
1 System Restore. I can set new restore points to my heart's content but will System restore ever find them? Nope. Never. I've tried repeatedly to go back to an earlier restore point but on each occasion am greeted with the message: "System restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed. Details: System restore failed to extract the original copy of the directory from the restore point. Source: %SystemRoot%\registration. destination: ComPlus Staging."
 
2 Windows Repair Disc: Another supposedly simple Windows 7 task. But not for me. Every time I try to create it, the message is: Microsoft Windows Repair Disc has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I'm quite frustrated with a redirect problem I'm having. If I do a google search, then click on the result it goes elsewhere. If I try to use a browser (ie, or firefox) to go to a particular url, again--it's a redirect. I've downloaded and run 4 or 5 programs to resolve it, but none get rid of the problem--including Norton, Pareto, xdelbox, and hijack this. I have had my Inspiron 15 3000 series since the end of August and was liking it until is started beeping a few weeks ago - sounds like a truck backing up.  It does it 5 times and repeats 3 times when starting up.    I tried online support but you cannot get anywhere until you enter your service tag number or express service code neither are recognized.  I tried calling support but they could not identify my computer with the numbers either (I took pictures of them on my tablet and made them larger so I know they are right).   I purchased my laptop on line. Initially there was a message about the power source, but I have popped my battery out and  back in and the error message no longer pops up but is still beeps.   I am at a complete loss as to what to do at this point and am incredibly frustrated.

I have a lenovo yoga 710 that has a screen flickering problem (just like everyone else on the forums with a yoga 710 because you seem really good at making faulty products) which i sent in for repair in october, it started in april but i never bothered to send it in until the flickering would turn from just flickering to the screen being completely black.I got the laptop back with the screen not replaced or anything (and with the spacebar not working) but the flickering stopped and that was okay by me. just a week afterwards the flickering starts again but i was due for a trip to egypt and had no time to bother with your customer support specially because i needed my laptop and wasn't going to wait 3 weeks without it again.after i was back from the trip a couple of weeks latter i called in to arrange another fix and complain that my screen is flickering again and i'm told that it's been too long since my first repair and that it's out of warranty so there's nothing they can do, so i chose to live with it..it's been a couple of months since then where i hardly use my laptop because of the fact that it hurts my eyes whenever i do, then a couple of weeks ago my screen completely stops working again, with ocassional flickering and a second of working properly. I contact customer support to ask if there's anything they can do. Hello everyone. I just had to come to the forums and post this text that I wrote to the survey Lenovo sent me after my initial service case: I sent my brand new Yoga C930 to be checked because of light bleed both bottoms corners of the screen. They received the laptop on January 2nd and on January 7th I asked what the situation was, they told me it was being prosessed. On January 14 I again sent a message to customer service asking for an update since I didn't get any updates unless I asked (which is really bad service). They replied that according to the service center there wasn't enough light bleed. They then sent the laptop back. So for a week the laptop was just laying somewhere at the service center and only after I asked about it did they send it back. When I got it back I noticed the service person had scratched the laptops hard metal hinge. So now I had light bleed and  a scratched laptop. He hadn't even used the protective sleeve I had put the laptop in (sleeve came with the laptop). Instead he had forcefully jammed the sleeve in the box and put the laptop in a random plastic bag... At that point the laptop had been gone for a month and now the only way to get a replacement metal hinge is to send it back to Germany AGAIN. I have no idea how long it will take this time, or even if it will be returned in any good condition. Hi  We have purchased a Lenovo Yoga Laptop on 20.01.17. From 10th of April onwards , there is some issues with Laptop Power Button .We are not able to switch it on using power Button. We had a talk with call center executives, Senior Executives & service Head of Kolkata, but still there is no proper update. We are still in Dark .They are not able to provide any proper information about parts availability.Ticket Ref No. is 7007963157.As the Laptop is very high valued  & purchased on the month of Jan.We are in regular touch of Service Head since last week & he is still not able to provide proper info about the parts availability .NOw he says he is sending an engineer to inspect.THis is not at all acceptable.  Any suggestions Would be helpful.

We have purchased several new Lenovo P1 mobile workstations and Lenovo X1 Extreme notebooks - they're very similar and working well for our needs.  One question/feature request - can we get the Lenovo Display Optimizer applet that controls the color gamut on the X1E updated to also support the P1?  Both of the models we purchased have the 4K UHD displays - why doesn't the P1 support this application?  Thanks!- Kirk

A few weeks ago I saw the Lenovo K430 on NewEgg while shopping for a new Desktop. I was amazed by the K430?s features and great looks. However, after doing some research I became very baffled about the Power Turbo Switch and the many horror stories about upgrading the graphics card. I called Lenovo Technical Support to talk about possibilities and get advice about the graphics card, a woman answered the phone and informed me she had no idea or information about graphics card; but she recommended I speak to Sales. I was transferred to sales and they too informed me that they knew nothing about the computer or graphics card. I decided to call B&H Photo, the name sounds deceiving but they really are the best with support. The Technical Support told me if I really wanted a great computer I should think about building my own. So today, I embarked on the journey to build my own computer and I want to say thank you to Lenovo. If it wasn?t for Lenovo's extremely bad Tech Support and Sales I would not have built my own computer. Lenovo you are so terrible and clueless, you have inspired me, you have driven me by showing me your lack of knowledge and sense of awareness, the idea that a company has a sales and tech department that knows absolutely nothing about their own product. New Yoga 700-141SK: Ran the Lenovo Support Center Hardware Scan and the Video Card Mathematical Operations Test has failed rendering the Report: WVC007002-UL7BPL. Is there a tried and proven solution out there? I have had a look at the solutions on the forum and am not satisfied that the solutions offered prove that the problem has been resolved. It is reasonable to expect Lenovo to make available a solution as a matter of course instead of end-users of "afflicted" Lenovo devices having to request/search for a solution(s).

After owning a couple of used dell laptops, both were good machines, I decided to take the plunge and buy myself a new Dell 17R N7110.So i was none-to-happy when after 3 months (eminent hd failure) popped up on the screen, and a few more times until it died just after warranty expired and so its been collecting dust for a couple of years till i got over it.ok sorry for the ramble,  I just ordered a 1tb firecuda and i can install it (more $} so how do i go about getting the drivers and os back on the bare hd?

I keep getting these errors.  I uninstalled Dell Support Assistant, Dell Support Assistant remediation, and dell update services  and reinstalled them all but the errors keep coming back and I have a feeling something important in the winretools and dellsupport partitions are not getting updated.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Lenovo, you really let down a loyal Thinkpad customer with 10+ Notebooks since 2005. My T460s with 3 Year On-Site warran has a problem and switches off abruptly when battery 2 elapses instead of switching to battery 1.  I call my local Lenovo Service Partner, they arrange to come and fix the issue. Visit #1: You change the motherboard, it does not fix the problem but creates a new problem: no sound Visit #2: You install a myriad drivers on my system, still no sound, still switches off abruptly  Visit #3: You change motherboard again, fixes sound issue, creates a new issue: screen flickering, the initial issue of power off on switch from battery 2 -> 1 is still not fixed. So I started with a T460s power issue and I have lost 3 business days, my work is being destroyed and what I have now is a T460s with a power issue and a flickering screen. I cannot work and you do not help, you have just destroyed a loyal (circa 2005) customer. What will you do now? Your service partner offered to come and change another motherboard, do you think I have nothing better to do than surrender my life's work in form of my laptop to you to try to install a myriad different motherboards on?

I bought my laptop from USA and i am currently located in INDIA, but i am having some issues with it, & there is no other way to contact, other than this forum. The chat does not work outside US, & the phone number is for US callers only. Please tell me how to contact you guys? I even contacted LENOVO INDIA CUSTOMER SUPPORT, & they have no idea as to how to contact LENOVO USA CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

Good evening! I have a Lenovo Edge 2 that has been babied since purchased. Never abused, dropped, no scratches or dents, it's in fantastic condition still. I purchased the extended warranty, hoping I'd never need it.Last year, it stopped charging properly. The battery power dropped to 0%, and hasn't increased since. The machine will only power on when plugged in to AC power, and will immediately power down when the adapter is disconnected. The charging status indicator LED on the right side of the machine flashes orange in a non-steady, intermittent pattern, and the charging indicator in the taskbar in Windows 10 does the same thing. I returned the machine to Best Buy, they sent it to their "Geek Squad" facility for repairs, and the AC Adaptor and battery were replaced, under warranty. The machine was returned to me, and still doesn't charge.I contacted Lenovo, they advised I would need to return it to their facility for repairs. I put it in the provided box, and dropped it off to FedEx on 6/24/17. It's now been 2 weeks. I contacted Lenovo to inquire about the status of the repair, and was told "The technician found evidence of damage, and the upper case will need to be replaced as well, but damage isn't covered under warranty, so you'll need to cover the cost of the repair." I asked for the price, was told "A technician will email you with the price." Hi , I have Lenovo Z 580 Ideapad.3 months back its fan stopped working. So i visited an authorized service centre located at Gurugram. http://business.google.com/website/devmohini/Since my laptop is out of warranty , they told me that the fan need to be replaced and charges will be applied. They said that they will order the part and let me know when my laptop will be ready . Few days back, they called me and asked me to pickup my laptop.I went there and checked my laptop , its fan was working . I paid the full amount. They gave me the receipt But they didn't provide me the Fan's warranty card or anywhere the warranty was mentioned in the receipt. They didn't even told me when the warranty of the Fan they replaced , was gonna expire.But now after 2 & half months , the Fan stopped working again . I went again and showed them my laptop. Now they are saying that the Fan panel need to be changed again & since the Fan's warranty is expired , I have to pay the full charges again. I am so angry and irritated at them right now . I have serious doubt that they lied to me and cheated on me. They just resolved some minor issue but charged me the full amount of Fan in the first place . & now they are doing the same thing again. They are such conman. I am so disappointed with Lenovo service. Hello Community,I also was one of the unfortunate consumers who bought the Lenovo 730 2-in-on 15" and within a week the flickering started. Took it to BestBuy and they shipped it to Lenovo for repair. The paper I was given did not indicate how the issue was fixed so I asked the guy and he had to go in the back and get another piece of paper that stated both cable connections from the motherboard to the monitor were replaced. 2 months later the problem returned but with more severity. The screen starts with flickering then eventually goes completly white. I am outside the 30 day refund policy Lenovo offers but these flawed laptops should be an exception to that rule. The design of this particular product is flawed and nothing will fix it according to many of the posts I have read. I chatted with a representative for Lenovo on their website and to fix the issue I was offered the option of having a technician come to my house to fix the issue. And was told that the technician would come after the parts came in. I knew at that point that they were going to replace the same cables and insisted my case be excalated to a case manager. I heard from the case manager and she offered me a replacement with the same Lenovo Yoga 730 15" but with a few upgrades; i7 processor, 16 gig memory, 512GB hard drive. I have purchesed my desktop computer on7th March 2016. My computer is running but there no signal in Keyboard, Mouse and Display. I registered complain, but service center people did not repaired my computer, they said Mother Board is out of stock, when Mother Board will come they wll repaire. Now more than fifteen working days has gone nobody has come. There service is too bad. Do not purchase HP computer, they make below standard product. Never never never purchase HP product.

Firstly apologies for the length of this one, I've been on it for a while and wanted to share what I could in the hope it might trigger some ideas.


I'm currently receiving an influx support tickets for Windows 7 (x64) devices that are getting the "Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service" error when logging on for the first time.

It's predominantly laptops and mainly older Lenovo X230's but there are far more X230 machines without the problem than with it at this time so I'm struggling to tie it down to a specific build, update, application etc. Instances of the issue starting range
from 6 months ago to last week and I have around 200 devices affected (but this is rising).


The issue happens like this for some of the users:

    # User boots machine up from being switched off
    # Machine boots and gets to logon screen
    # User is unable to logon using their fingerprint reader, the green light isn't lit
    # They try to logon using username / password, this fails
    # "Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service" error appears (blue, full screen like the "please wait..." when booting)
    # They are then able to try again and the logon is successful
    # Error doesn't occur again until they reboot

I sent my laptop Y460p for repair at Lenovo IdeaPad series Service Centre at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre on the 9th of April. It's been 2 weeks and I have not received calls from them so I called them today and asks them about my laptop. The person who answered the call asks me to wait for him to call back as he will need to go and check.  When he called back, I was disappointed. The person told me that my laptop had just been processed today and ask me to give them 3 to 5 more working days. I am a student. School had already started for me and I really need my laptop. If i had knew that it would take such a long time for them to repair my laptop, I would not have sent it for repair. And I was told that my laptop would take 5-8 working days(usually only 3-5 working days) because they had to extend my warranty. It's already way past 8 working days! It's the 12th working day from the day i sent my laptop for repair and you are telling me you were doing nothing to my laptop? and It's not the first time i had such bad experience with Lenovo. My laptop had problems with the keyboard. So last year, I went to the service centre at bukit timah shopping centre and tried to have my laptop repaired. The person attending to me suggest that my laptop would need a change of just the keyboard itself. So, I had my keyboard changed. However, after a week, the keyboard failed again. I have win-xp with sp3 installed. I recently tried to use the help and
support and nothing happened. I checked the service and it was not started.
When I so start it, I get:

Could not start the Help and Support service on Local Computer.

Error 126: The specified module could not be found.

Problem is, it doesn't state what module. I have tried some of the
suggestions, but nothing seems to help.

I have been trying to check my System Information and I keep getting this message:
"Windows cannot open help & support because a system service is not running to fix start this service" I have tried everything I can and have no idea how to do this. Any Ideas. Thanks
 

A:Solved: Help & Support Service

Click on Start > Run > type services.msc

Scroll down to the Help & Support Service and make sure it's Started and Automatic.

If no luck, try this fix: Restore Help & Support Service.

Save the file to your desktop. Double-click on it to merge it to your registry.

Reboot.

Or, go HERE and scroll down to Why doesn't Help and Support work?

I have xp installed in my PC. but when i click help and support from start button then it display help and support windows but i am unable to see in "Support" tab and options tab. both the tabs are blank when opening.
When i check help and support service status in Adm tools >services. then found it is stopped .
When i tried to start this then always a meesage appears that " help and support service on local computer started and then stopped.Some some services stopped automatically if they have no work to do"

I have taken following action for this but no use...
1. Reset the service by tweater.
2.Reinstall the service by windows\inf\ pchealth-- install
3.many other solutions i have tried but no success.
