Browser redirecting & somebody is writing text on my screen etc. strange

Q: Browser redirecting & somebody is writing text on my screen etc. strange

Maybe hijacked?
-Browser redirecting
-sometimes "somebody" is pushing the browser back and forward buttons at least 100 times a minute
-Text is coming from somewhere i.e. to Firefox Google search box, sometimes there is whole sentences (somebody is writing), sometimes just letters are coming.

When I ran Hijackthis, it did not go through at first. HJT adviced me to run it as an administrator...there was also mentioned that maybe HJT is also infected...

I ran AdAware & SpyBot, no help.

Somebody, please help. I really do not know what to do.
Here is my first HJT-file ever

Preferred Solution: Browser redirecting & somebody is writing text on my screen etc. strange

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi arjfca.

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup tool before you upload another zip.

Hi, i'm a bit stuck with this one and could use some help.

Basicly a friend had a virus on her laptop and also a .net 3.5 update would not install, fixed those two problems fine but now i have another one!

On the login screen (vista) theres 2 accounts and when you click on one to enter the password the button which normaly says "Switch User" now says "sable time stamp. The time service will not update the local system until it is able to synchronize with a time".

I am presuming its a text string that is missing or corrupted but i cant find it, does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for reading,

Hi, i have a problem with a friends laptop running Vista home premium

On the login screen theres 2 accounts and when you click on one to enter the password the button which normaly says "Switch User" now says "sable time stamp. The time service will not update the local system until it is able to synchronize with a time".

Unfortunatly system restore was disabled so i cant try that.
This happened i after doing a defrag of the hard drive which had over 60% fragmantation.

I am presuming its a text string that is missing or corrupted but i cant find it, does anyone have any ideas? I've had a search but cant find an answer.

Hi there guys, noticed a strange red line in my Windows Update screen.
Posting screenshot here (it's in italian, but I'll offer a rough translation of the red line underneath)

The red line says something like "Some settings are handled by the company/organization".
I'm like... wut? Which company or organization? If I were at work I'd be thinking about some LDAP setting and it would be all right, but here I'm at home, I have a very straightforward network and configuration.

I'm not 100% sure, but I seem to recall this red text line wasn't there after the fresh install I did some weeks ago.
Still I can't think of anything that I tweaked that might have affected that.
The only thing I changed is in the windows hidden advanced settings, where I chose so that Windows Update doesn't automatically download/install stuff, but asks for my permission first.
Can't think of anything else either.

Can anybody help me first understanding what this line really means, and if I can do anything to "solve" it? (supposing it even is a problem actually... it might be nothing serious)

You might have used group policy editor or your registry editor for the update settings. This is exactly a result of this and it should not bother you much.I have also changed these settings and I also get this message.

Hi all,

I need to capture some screen shots of websites but my attempts so far have resulted in slightly jagged/blurry text.

I've tried Chrome and Firefox. Both using Windows Print Screen feature and a screen capture tool (Snagit).

I've tried saving as uncompressed PNG with both Photoshop and the Snagit screen capture editor.

But still, the text is a little rough looking.

I've compared the screenshots to those taken by a colleague and their's look much better.

Could my browser be rendering the fonts in some way? Is my lower specced laptop producing lower quality screen shots?

Any tips for taking high quality screen shots?

Thanks!

A:Writing text around an image

Insert the picture then right click it and choose "Show Picture Toolbar." Once the picture toolbar is showing look for the button that says "Text Wrapping" and choose the option that says "Square" and that should allow you to type how you want.

This is a odd one, I'm not sure even if I'm in the write forum.

Anyway;

When writing a letter on your email and we have "Gmail" or answering or putting on a post like I am doing now , If I leave the cursor on the page I am working on weather it be on a email or I am answering a post or even writing a post like I am doing now, When you stop writing to think about what you will say next, The text will jump to another line that you have already typed.

It's a pain in the ass if you are typing and not looking at your work as every time you stop it will jump to another line, this only started happening when we had a computer crash and had to reload windows 7 back on.

I thought of reloading gmail to see if that helps but it happens no matter what we are working on.........

I forgot to say it's good if the curser is right off the page this only happens when the curser is on the page

Need help........Please

A:Writing and text problems

Hi Kiwi lad, welcome to W7F

You could ask one of the mods to move it here:
Browsers & Mail - Windows 7 Forums

Upper right corner, click on red triangle to report post, then ask in the text box.
Now 'bout your predicament.

What browser are you using? I have a mild symptom of what you describe, and I use Firefox (that reminds me there is a new update).
but, It doesn't happen when using gmail or when using IE8.

In the pix, see the cursor? That's the static one, the one I'm using is blinking at the word gmail, but the snip won't pick it up.

And about reloading gmail, you can't its web based, but you could try a new account.

Every once in a while I'll try searching for answer, but haven't come up with anything solid yet.

Hi all,

I am trying to achieve the following functionality using VBA code:

Create a text file
Store a string in that text file, the string itself being contained in a String variable.
(Then I actually run a batch file using the Shell command which will call that particular string from the text file just created and execute certain functionality)
Delete the created text file

(This whole creation and deletion of text file is actually taking place within a Do Until loop. This is being done as I cannot figure out any direct way to pass parameters to a batch file at the same time that I am executing it, using the Shell command. Thus the text file acts as a workaround to that problem.)

Can anyone please also shed some light on how to read a string stored in a text file from a batch file. I am just hoping that this step itself is not too complicated.

A:Creating, Writing to and Deleting Text Files

You can pass a string argument to a batch file using:

shell "path to batch.bat " & chr(34) & strArgument & chr(34)

Where the string is stored in a string variable.

To read and write to a text file use:
Code:

Dim fNum as long
fNum=FreeFile
Open "filepath.txt" for Output as fNum
Write fNum, strString
Close fNum

To delete use:
Code:

Kill "path to file.txt"

Hi  I just bought a YogaBook (android) on the assumption I'd be able to download an app that would let me convert writing to text. I've searched the forum and it's mentioned Nebo which I've purchased but I don't understand how this works with YogaBook and still in the dark on how to do it (I am technically challenged...) I've seen some posts in the forum from others who say it's a brilliant app but can't find any further details on how to use them together. Without the writing to text conversion it isn't going to work for me. :-(  Is someone able to help? Thanks in advance.

I've been trying to wrap my head around how to do this but haven't had any luck -- I want to search for text in excel in a spreadsheet of 4000 entries...so it'll save a ton of time.

Here's the situation I want solved.

I have an array of 22 columns (AI:BD) that is mostly blank (formulas returning text of "") and occasionally 1-2 (identical) text inputs per row. What I want to do is search this pretty much blank array for the account code (a number) and put it in one column (AH) on the same row. How do I do this?

That junk is probably formatting information for Word (or the document could not have saved properly, in which case it is just pure junk). Normally it shouldn't be visible or printed, but, well, it may be Word, your PC or your printer not communicating (if you got it when trying to print). Often the easiest fix is just to reboot and see what happens. If the doc is fixable, Word may be able to recover it.

hi

Has anyone encountered a text-writing issue where one is engrossed in what is being typed without realizing that the insertion point has jumped from sequence--i.e., the latter part of a word currently being typed has located itself after a term on a prior line (the issue always entails a 'jump' back to prior written text)?

I've observed it occurring--the insertion point just reverts/jumps to a prior line--and not always at the beginning of a line, either.

Q: is it feasible that the keyboard has a (for lack of a better term) 'sensitivity' control, to make the keyboard less hyper?

Thank you

Hi,

I would like to have a text file that stores a number, lets say 2000. I want my batch script to grab the number from that file, and put it into a variable. The script will then do stuff with that variable and once it is finished, add 1 to it (don't know how easy that bit is). Then I want the script to write this number (2001) back into the text file, overwriting the old number.

So basically the contents of the text file would go from 2000, to 2001, to 2002, etc each time the batch file is run.

Would anyone be able to point in the right direction for this?

Any help is highly appreciated.

So I also had the search engine redirecting issue with the blue 2 or squiggly favicon. I would run everything in the world, I even have the SpywareDoctor with antivirus and it didn't pick anything up. Or I'd run it and it would pick up several things repeatedly. Occasionally Avira would pop up and say it found a TR/ trojan. It always began with TR/ and the names following were different each time. I've run everything under the sun, including Combofix and running rescue discs. I've run HijackThis and disabled what looks suspicious. I would run Malwarebytes full scan and Combofix, etc etc... I figured it was rootkit and I even ran several rootkit programs. Combofix picked up a little, but deleting these things didn't fix my problem. I read in some places that it had to do with java. So I completely wiped out java and reinstalled it. That seemed to fix it. Avira no longer gives me random notices of TR/ trojans. I'm no longer redirected or anything. all of a sudden my browser and windows98 is writing in `italics`.

i was doing so heavy uninstalling of downloaded softwares, just want to go back to normal writing.

A:browser all of a sudden writing in italics

When you say your browser, which browser? internet explorer?
When you say and windows 98, do you mean that everywhere that text is, it is in italics? even the names of items on the desktop.

say for example, you go into your browser and type in the addy bar: about:this is a test. then it should load the text "this is a test." is that text right there in italics? if it is only certain sites, then could just be faulty coding.

also, have you restarted your computer since this started happening? I find it unlikely, but i suppose its possible that the computer skipped the code {/i} and so was never told to turn italics off and keeps it on for everything, however i'd assume that it should only apply to the page being viewed at the time...

Hello everyone, I'm having some code issues while doing screen adaptation in IE11, I would like to ask for your help. I am building a website in wordpress, and I need to make some adaptive adjustments for IE 11 browser. I tried various hacks and
I found:

The method shown above is the only method that works for IE11, but with this method, I can?t do other screen adaptations for IE11.

Hi,
I've been having a few problems with my browser redirecting to the google home page. I've just noticed this - so far its only happened when I've tried to access Myspace, which is a site I very rarely use, but it only happens when I'm running OpenVPN. On my plain ISP connection the page loads up OK. Not sure if I have a problem, but this certainly is odd beahviour.

Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks.

I did this years ago with XP, worked for word/wordpad/notepad/and online, like here. Now that I bumped up to 7, forgot how to do it... I think a quick regedit

Surprised no tut on this. For me, it's much easier to leave the cursor where I want to insert the character than going to start>Accessories>System Tools>Character Map or start>search>charmap>charmap.exe, and then 4 more clicks to copy desired character. Remembering the keys, not going to happen.

Also, related question, once you finally get to character map, why 4 more clicks? Scroll to desired character>select>copy>paste. Seems select and copy are redundant. How about macros? I generally only use a few of these odd characters anyway, and rarely at that.

Or even better, how about speech macros for these characters? If there were speech commands for unusual characters (e.g., ?, ?, ?, ?) and numbers/math (e.g., ?, ?, ?), that could save a LOT of time. Ever try to find/insert the ? or √?symbol?

So, 1) character map in context menu? or even better, 2) speech macros for a greater selection of characters/symbols, including math?

Two questions, sorry. But related. Any help with either would be appreciated.

A:Strange Text

You may not have a client that can read HTML emails. So some of your emails come out as a very large blob of unsightly text and weird characters and is mostly unreadable.

however, here's the full story including the punch line in plain text

A woman decides to have a facelift for her 50th birthday?

. She spends, £15,000 and feels pretty good about the results. On her way home, she stops at a newsstand to buy a newspaper. Before leaving, she says to the clerk, "I hope you don't mind my asking, but how old do you think I am?"
About 32," is the reply.
Nope! I'm exactly 50," the woman says happily.
A little while later she goes into McDonald's and asks the counter girl the very same question.
The girl replies, "I'd guess about 29."
The woman replies with a big smile, "Nope, I'm 50."
Now she's feeling really good about herself. She stops in a drug store on her way down the street. She goes up to the counter to get some mints and asks the clerk this burning question.
The clerk responds, "Oh, I'd say 30."
Again she proudly responds," I'm 50, but thank you!"
While waiting for the bus to go home, she asks an old man waiting next to her the same question.
He replies, "Lady, I'm 78 and my eyesight is going. Although, when
I was young, there was a sure-fire way to tell how old a woman was.
It sounds very forward, but it requires you to let me put my hands under your bra.... Read more

This occurs on both my PC and my laptop (the OS in both is Win 7 Home Premium), and on my wife's VERY old XP-SP3 laptop. The 'a€™' appears to be a substitution for a simple apostrophe ('). Good Lord; all that for an apostrophe??

How can I fix this issue?

Okay, this is odd to me, but, I am, simply put, computer linguistically illiterate. So, if this is really no big deal, please, don't laugh at me. Or, simply laugh and don't tell me.

Anyway....

My is relatively reliable, and I have never had any health issues over it, but recently I have noticed that it has been acting a little quirky. For example:
I had typed a text file, in MS Word titled "Copy and Paste", mind you, and when I typed my title, it saved a copy, but somehow another file of the similar name "~$py and Paste" was located in the same area. Ever since this odd little file showed up, my computer has randomly shut down, opened MS Word, caused problems with opening the internet, so on and so forth. So what I did was I contacted Help and Support and after a long winded phone call, and a few other computer related magic tricks, it all boiled down to shredding this file using McAfee Shredder. Unfortunately this hasn't solved the problem, and my compy is still comitted to irritating me to no end. If anyone knows of any reason why it does this or, even better, ways to fix it, please, I'm desperate. I've got a novel to work on, and this sillyness is not helping. Seriously. Thirty pages of work. Gone. If you have any idea of how sick I felt, you'd vomit too.

Thank You for your Consideration,

Apparently it started a few weeks ago and only on certain websites, certain letters look distorted and I can't figure out why it happens or how to fix it- at first I thought it had to do with the AMD 14.x drivers but it still happens with an Nvidia card in it and I'm using a BenQ GL2450HM and there doesn't seem to be any issues found about it. I also disabled hardware acceleration in the browsers and it doesn't seem to be any different and also tried HDMI and DVI.

I currently use 125% text scale in Windows, tried it at 100% and still occurs but at certain zoom it gets worse.

Has anyone seen this type of thing and know any fix? This is most noticeable on Battlelog, notice purple-green blending around the words "awful smell" and orange around the letter I:

A:Strange text distortion

What you mention is not visible in your screen shot. Keep in mind a screen shot is a capture of the data sent to the video card, not actually what is seen on the monitor. Since you swapped video cards its likely an issue with your monitor. I'd try it on another PC.

Hello,

About 2 days ago, I noticed I could not click on a search result from google with out being redirected to some random page. I discovered I could hold down the "shift" key to open the link in a new window to work around the problem, but today that isn't even helping. I have installed and run Malwarebytes. The first time it found 22 infected files and removed them. After a reboot, the issue was still happening, so I ran it again and it only found 1 infected file which it then removed. Needless to say, I am still having the same issue. I have googled the topic and read several threads about using combofix, but all threads also cautioned beginners from using this product. Hello, my name is Elise and I'll assist you with this issue.I see indeed still ZeroAccess components, therefore please read the following information first. One or more of the identified infections is known to use a backdoor. This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and download and execute files.I would advice you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.Though the infection has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. I'm having some very wierd problems...
For certain app's (mainly all microsoft) I can't enter text into certain areas. For example, I opened IE and wanted to search something using google, but I can't enter any text into the Google search box!

I realised that I also can't enter text into windows messenger to login (email address and password). So its more of a problem than just IE. Its actually a windows problem - must be something wrong with the windows system.
I don't have a clue what the difference is with the input box on a web form and the address bar in the browser (as the address bar works fine, I can enter a URL no problems, I just can't enter stuff into forums and google etc....)
