I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system
It's worked out well for many of us in the past.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, i have maddening issues with my internet.
I own an Acer One notebook and up until a month ago internet worked just fine. Lately it is very slow when i'm in my room (download speed 0.08 sometimes) but it works in 2 spots and it gets better as i get closer to the router (it's downstairs). We have 2 PCs and another laptop using the same router and they all work fine, even in my room.
I've checked for viruses and malware (MS Essentials and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware), emptied cache and temp files, reset router, i don't know what else to do.
Would reinstalling wireless driver do it? I'd need some help finding it.
Btw i am running windows 7 and it's a 32bit.
Thanks in advance for any input!

Hi, for the past month or so I have been having trouble using wifi to browse the Internet on my HP Pavilion dv6 notebook PC. I can see all the available connections and even connect to them but once I am connected and try to use the Internet in any form it just doesn't load any web pages and comes up with the same error when I am not connected to any Internet at all. While I am connected to the wifi it fluctuates from saying I have Internet access to no Internet access but no matter what it says connection to the Internet is impossible. Up till now this hasn't really been a problem as I have been mainly using Ethernet cables which seems to work fine on my laptop. I know that for a fact it's not any of he wifi's that aren't working as other laptops around the house are working on it fine. I have had this laptop for about a year but about a month or so ago this problem came about and I haven't been able to solve it myself since.Any help on this problem would be much appreciated as I am changing all the Internet in my house to wifi so need to sort this out soon. Once again thanks for any help.Sam
Have you tried doing a system restore? Maybe there was some change made and you just need to set it back to a time when it was working properly.I would suggest you check to see if you have a restore point to about one month ago.Read other 9 answers
Hello, Last night, my mom's notebook all of a sudden lost its wifi capacities. There is no more trace of a WLAN. The notebook is a HP Pavilion 15 PC. 15-n013ca would appear to be the serial number based on the box. It is not a router issue as it works fine with other mobile devices. Full reboot of router, then the notebook, changed nothing. Using an ethernet cable, the internet works on the notebook. But there is no more trace of wifi at all. It is weird. She tells me it happened suddenly, it was no longer working. The notebook is not in airplane mode either. What should I do?Read other answers
Before going to work this morning I put my computer on hibernate, when I came back my wifi networking was down. It is not that I am connected to a network but cannot open internet, my wifi network does not start up. The little red light does not turn blue! I have no idea why it is not working, any suggestions appreciated.
Hey, reasons for the light not to turn blue could be a problem with the physical hardware itself, being that it somehow shorted or something along those lines.
Another reason could be that it is not being supplied power, once a computer goes into hibernation mode it is given the right to stop power to that device, and possibly once starting back up, there was no power given to the Wireless? Have you tried to shutdown the computer normally and try it again? Another reason would be that the wireless settings and everything are all controlled by a service, and maybe the service failed to start. Rather then get you to go to the exact spot and try and turn on the service, just restart the computer. If that doesn't work and you want to try and manually start the service, reply back that you would like to do so and I will try and step you through it.
Other things to try - Reinstall the drivers for the wireless adapter, you will need to go to HP's website, type in your DV9500 as well as the other numbers on the bottom of the laptop on a white sticker, located near your prodocut key usually...
if you are comfortable with opening the laptop up, on the bottom side of the laptop, one of the covers will likely have the wireless card in side, it is connected by 2 wires, a black and a white, if you go to take the card out remember where each cord goes. I have a HTC One X and my notebook is a Samsung R720 running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1.
The wifi has been working perfectly on both my phone and notebook for a year or so, and now I installed a bunch of updates on my notebook and I think that caused my problems.
Now I have a DLink router, WPA protected WIFI network. It works great on my phone, but on my notebook it takes minutes to load pages, and sometimes it will say "___ is unavailble" in chrome. I always have 5 bars though, sometimes a small yellow triangle pop-ups but is gone in a split second.
I ran the diagnostics tool, which didn't help at all. Ran sfc scannow, didn't help either. Changed from WPA to WEP and back, didn't help, changed my wifi channel, didn't help either.
Do any of you have any ideas?
Basic Requirements Before Posting your Networking Thread - Following this may help us in finding out the potential culprit. Also can you also run a system restore point to a point before the issue occurred. The following tutorial may help.
Also can you try to update your drivers to the most current as this can be a potential cause.

Samsung offer multiple drivers for certain WLAN card makers so I cannot offer a link to the one you need unless you can tell us the wireless card you have.
Speccy - System Information - Free Download
Speccy can help narrow down what particular driver you need if you are unable to determine which driver you need.
Lastly, What is the make/model of your router as you may need to make some changes.

Hi, I recently bought an Acer Aspire E laptop but accidentally damaged the hard drive a few months later and had to replace it. My friend knows a lot about computers and has a side business fixing them and works as tech support for a company and for his university, so he installed the new hard drive for me and downloaded most of the drivers and installed them and said he would get the wireless working later. He eventually came back a few days ago to finish it up and after he left, I realized the wifi STILL was not working.
I have an ethernet cable and the thing it plugs into here in my dorm room, and the wifi works fine when connected to an ethernet, but Christmas break starts in a few days and I have no way to connect with my ethernet cable at home. I have my old laptop that I'm currently using but it's shitty and it doesn't turn on unless it's connected to the power cord so I can't really take it anywhere.
Anyways, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out here? I've tried redownloading and installing all of the drivers myself but it doesn't do anything at all and I don't know enough about computers to figure it out. I did see that there is a yellow triangle next to the network controller driver so I'm assuming it probably has something to do with that being missing.
Let me know if you need anymore details or clarification! I really just want to get this fixed so I can get back to using a reliable laptop.
Yes , the yellow symbol more than likely means the drivers are not installed correctly or the wrong drivers are installed...

Actually my wifi adapter can catch all other wifi signal except my wifi router.
There are several resons.1. The wifi signal might be too weak at the point where the computer is.2. Other device radiation/signals might be blocking it.3. Your router signal might be hodden (check EWS of router).4. Signal broadcasting might have been turned off on router. Since other signals are found on the computer, there shouldnt be a issue with your couputer.Read other 1 answers

I am an HP Employee.
Hi, I have a XPS 13 9343 (i5/QHD) purchased refurbished from 3rd party, recently installed clean W10.
The Dell tool indicates to me that I should be installing:
Installing I get failure log at the bottom.
Via Device Manager as mentioned the WiFi adapter under Network is not there, scanning for hardware changes does not help.
I have tried manually installing inf files but I don't get any options under "Model" when I try to install it through legacy hardware.
I'm starting to think the Wifi/Bluetooth component is either faulty or entirely missing from the vendor (I have not opened it up and wouldn't know how to diagnose this myself).
I've attached a separate wifi dongle which works as does connecting to Ethernet via a USB adapter.
Any other ideas of what it could be? Thanks.

Hi First of all there is an option in Device Manager; VIEW; Show hidden devices The faint entries are hidden, like my Zyxel G202 because it is disconnected. Also.... As an adminstrator, in a Command Prompt Window, typegetmacThis will list MAC addresses for those items that are present, and may not be connected.A good number would be 3,1 x Ethernet1 x Wi-Fi1 x Bluetoothand then typeipconfigand in the long list look for named devices have a matching MAC address.Along with Device manager this is a way to determine the number of devices. additionally type netsh wlan show driversnetsh wlan show interfaces and report the results please.

i am using my HP Pavilion g4-2309tx about years.it is performing very well since last year. But two days ago i found that wifi in my laptop is not working and the wifi adaper rt3290 of my lapter overheating very badly.can anyone give me the solution of this problem?
my pc configuration is:

This is my first time posting so i hope its in the right place. Here it goes:
I have just replaced my WiFi card from (BCM943228HMB) to BCM94352HMB. Before replacing my WiFi card i done the following:
1. Made computer boot in safe mode with networking.
After that i replaced the card, then booted into windows 10 (safe mode with networking) and checked device manager. Everything was OK (See attached picture). I then tried to turn on WiFi, but it does not turn on. Any help is appreciated.
Hahaahahaha don't look at the other tab
Why are you booting into safe mode? I would connect a network cable to the wired network port, if possible for you. In regular windows, not safe mode, right click on the 802.11ac network controller and uninstall. Right click on the top device manager entry for the computer itself and select scan for new hardware.Read other 12 answers

I have an HP notebook, model dv8 & it has had this problem for over a year. It randomly turns off the wifi connection - the button to turn the connection on/off on the keyboard turns orange from blue. When I press on the button, it reconnects. Sometimes the pc stays connected for a couple of hours & sometimes it goes right back off. When it goes off the pc may reconnect on it's own only to go back off a moment later.
It is NOT my router because my other 3 pcs have never done this. This pc is running Windows 7 & the router is Linksys N. The pc has an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN network adapter. I tried reseating the card by opening the back, pulling the card out, & reinstalling it. After that I did not have a problem for 2 whole days!
Would replacing the wifi card fix this problem?

I literally just bought this notebook and I'm trying to set it up. I am trying to connect it to my home network but it isn't showing up in the available wifi networks. The network is working fine (I have two devices near me now that are running on it), the router is more than able to handle another connection and the netbook is picking up several other signals right now. I'm connected to my phone hotspot to post this message. Any idea what can be done to correct this? I tried to add the network manually but it still won't connect, it's like it's blind to it when it can see networks from next door just fine.Read other answers

It is supplied with Windows 6 software, usually used on mobiles. I think it is the networking settings I need to set correctly. It can see the live box, but when I click on "Connect" it goes through the following four stages:
Status: Not Connected
Signal Strength: No Signal
I click on connect then:
Status: Associating with Livebox BFDA/Failed to connect to Livebox BFDA
Signal Strength :Excellent
Signal Strength: Excellent
Signal Strength: No Signal
I have an opportunity to configure the following settings:
IEEE 802.1x Authentication:
Enable 802.1x authentication on this network (Tick Box)
and if I check the box, there is a choice of:
I bought this for my daughter and gave it to her last night but she is mighty disappointed that I can't get her onto her onto the net, so anyone that can help would be making a little girl very happy!
Many thanks in advance
Well, first off, remove 802.1x authentication! Unless you're connecting to a corporate wireless network with a RADIUS server, you'll never get that working.
Download and run this Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector, click the Networks link on the upper left and paste a screen shot of that screen here. Note that this application requires NET Framework to run. If you get an error about a missing function, download and install NET Framework. For machines with no Internet connection, download this NET Framework 3.5 Full Package on another machine and transfer it with removable media to the problem machine.
To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to the forum, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.
Hi I have a HP Notebook - 17-y009naModel #: W7Q78EASerial #: 8CG6365S70 I bought this machine this week. I found on start up that it didn't find my home wifi (I live in shared accommodation - hub is in landlord's flat downstairs, with a wifi repeater on my floor). My laptop found other wifi connections but not the house one. I asked him to reboot and the connection was found but only for a few hours. Then it was lost, but the other signals in the area remain in my list of locally found networks. I appreciate that it would seem be an issue with the house wifi / repeater, except my smartphone has no problem to connecting to the house service and I am now having to access wifi on the laptop by doing Bluetooth tethering through my smartphone. Grateful for any advice. ThanksRobRead other answers
Out of no where wifi has been stopping and going for pass month. I could usually disconnect and reconnect and it will work. Starting today it disappeared completely, not showing when I click connections, not showing on device manager, or in network settings. I restarted it and messed with router just in case. I'm a student and have a lot of important stuff stored and with term papers to I don't have time for a full restart and would have to buy giant flash drive to back up data, I'm a poor student.

This is a small problem but it bothers me nevertheless. I have a notebook running Windows Vista Home Premium. At boot up the status indicators show the wi fi as enabled and running but the adapter switch (wi fi switch) is in the off position. At this point no networks can be detected when I know there's one available. I have to turn the adapter switch on and off a few times then it operates normally. Originally the system would boot and not indicate that wi fi was on. Perhaps the problem is only with the indicator lights or wi fi switch.
Is there a setting somewhere that is telling the notebook to boot with the wi fi enabled? I'm new to Vista and tried to find a setting but haven't found anything that I'm comfortable changing not knowing what I'm doing. I've owned several different systems over the years but only have an intermediate level of experience with advanced settings, etc.
Any ideas? Virus? Did I inadvertently change a setting? Hardware problem?
Thanks for your help.
I bought this version of the laptop in November 2013 and a few days later I had to return it because the WiFi would not work. I got my second one and the WiFi worked for about 6 months. For months I thought it was Time Warner Cable and I would argue with them time after time doing speed test after speed test and sending me a new router. So then I started calling Tech Support for both Microsoft and HP and got the run around. Finally the place where I bought told me it was HP. So again I called Tech Support and they finally agreed that it was their hardware they began helping me. Each of their solutions would last for a months. FInally the WiFI just flat stopped working. After arguing with them about how long this problem has been going they finally agreed to fix it even though the 1 yr Warrenty had expired. They had me send it off to the facotry or HP repair shop for 7 days. Here they replaced 3 or 4 items. This worked for about 8 months. I have been asking for help but again they want to be paid for knowledge even though the probem was never really solved. I have been trying use this Forum for help but I cannot find anything. Ive only had my computer for a few weeks. When I first started using it, it was very slow and the wifi kept cutting in and out. I thought it was an issue with just my computer until everyone in my house was having the same problem I was having. Cutting off at the same time. So I thought it was the router (we never had any problems before I got this computer). But I thought about it and noticed that the time I got the computer was the same time we started to have router problems. So I turned my computer off for a day. NO router problems for any of the other computers. I turn it back on for a day, router problems for everyone. I homeschool, so my computer is vital to my kids schooling. Because there computers are connected to mine to do school (wirelessly). So right now I have it hooked up to my router by ethernet cable (very inconvient this way, cause these really no safe place to put my computer where the router is set up). And it works great on just the cable. No wifi cut offs for anyone esle either. So my computer is causing the Wifi crashing. I have done all my Windows and HP updates. And have updated my wireless driver (Realtrk RTL8188EE 802.11) Wifi rounter info....Huawel Technologies....Model: HG532eCompter specs.....HP Notebook....Windows 10 64 bit....Intel i5 500U....6 GB memory...1 TB Hard DriveRead other answers
