Q: Lenovo Yoga 900 Bluetooth keeps turning off by its...

Hi guys, I had a Yoga Pro 2 but I got it replaced by Lenovo under warranty because it was having some major major issues. They sent me a Yoga 900 and I am already noticing problems with its connection to my bluetooth mouse. I used this same bluetooth mouse on my Yoga Pro 2 and it always connected fine without any problems at all but with my Yoga 900 it seems that the mouse will be connected for 5 minutes max and then the Yoga 900 will no longer recognize the mouse. Any help is appreciated, this is very frustrating and I have had been having a lot of problems with Lenovo's devices. Their warranty is great but I am getting tired of so many problems for such expensive machines.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Similar problem here. Yoga 900 just a couple of months old, and I decided to try a bluetooth mouse. It connected and worked just fine for a couple of minutes and then stopped. Windows still says the mouse is paired and connected, but it doesnt work. Turn bluetooth off, turn mouse off, remove mouse from bluetooth devices, re pair mouse and it works for a couple of minutes and then stops. Lather, rinse, repeat. I'm hoping this is a Windows problem and not a Lenovo problem, but if anyone finds a solution I would love to hear it.

The screen is just completely black. The backlight on the keyboard is on, the light for my charging port and power button are on, but the screen won?t come on. I can hear the fans and everything going, just not the screen. It used to play sound but now the sound isn?t even working. I?ve tried fully shutting it off and turning back on, but that doesn?t work. Sometimes the screen turns back on and I can use it, but then if I close it the screen turns off for good again.

The laptop was working just fine, then all of a sudden shut off on its own. I thought the battery might've ran out, so I plugged it in, tried to power it on but did not power on, even after hours of charge. The white light on the side is lit when plugged in, and the keyboard lights up for 1 second when pressing the power button before shutting back down. I've done the hold the power button for 15 seconds, release, hold for another 15 trick, but all that happens are the fans turning on high-mode for 2 seconds then shutting back off. I'm decently tech savvy and build my own computers, but just not laptops. This says to me the motherboard is still intact and isn't having an issue communicating with parts. If I were to guess on the next thing, it'd be the battery failing. I don't hear any beeps or anything, which usually occurs with CPU errors, and with the screen/system not turning on, I can't diagnose if the m.2 ssd is failing (most likely not the issue). I've found this maintenance manual online to replace parts, but unsure if this is a common issue that others are having, and which part should I look into replacing (if any). I don't have an active warranty on this anymore but prefer to not spend a couple of hundred of dollars at a repair shop. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

My Lenovo Yoga is not turning on, no screen lights, key board lighting, or light next to power button is on. But when I plug it in the charging light turns on (see pictures). I have tried re-seating the ram, taking out the ac adapter and holding the power button for 30 seconds to a minute, and took out the battery pin and tried the same but to no avail. It still doesn't work. But, when I hold the power button with the battery plugged in, this fan on the back turns on for a few seconds. There isn't any CMOS battery that I could find, even on the other side of the motherboard. I also used two cables that work with another laptop, and still it wouldn't turn on. The One-Key button does not work either.Picture of Charging light on: Link to IMGPicture of inside: Link to IMGPlease do not ask me for the model number because I really do not know it. Recently there was a Wifi Driver issue, which got resolved when the service guy came and replaced it, 6-8 weeks ago. After that my Wifi works fine but has a bit of a performance issue - It takes some time to identify Wifi Networks. If I switch on my bluetooth, the wifi performance degrades more, i.e. more time to identify network and the speeds of download/upload deteriorates a lot (A video in Youtube 720p quality is brought down to 144p).In addition it seems to take a lot of time for my bluetooth to identify a device. Does the Wifi and Bluetooth share the antennas? If so does this mean the antenna have a problem now?Is there a way to troubleshoot this? maybe by checking speed on Wifi and bluetooth.

Hi

I odn't have that model, but just in case what you can always try is to get the latest wireless driver, sometimes I have some issues with some older wifi drivers.

Check the support site and see if there is a newer driver for the wifi. Check your "WIndows Device Manager" and see the version of the driver you have installed for the wireless adapter.

I also like to test the wifi with different routers on some other networks just be sure that is not a local problem of my router too.

It is also good the check the maintenance manual of your model to see the cables and the antennas. I'm not sure if that is exactly your model, but it seems it was two antennas for the WAN network and 2 for the LAN. It does not specify anything about the bluetooth.

What is the "Windows Device Manager" saying about the bluetooth device ?

Can you check if the bluetooth complete disapear from the list, or if it shows some yellow warning sign when the issue appear.

Please check which bluetooth model do you have installed, on the support site for your model there are two bluetooth drivers:
1) Bluetooth Driver (Liteon, Qualcomm) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Yoga 710-14IKB, Yoga 710-15IKB
2) Intel Bluetooth Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Yoga 710-14IKB, Yoga 710-15IKB

This morning bluetooth on my computer (Lenovo Yoga 2) worked. I let Windows updates install. After update, no bluetooth. Bluetooth settings says bluetooth is off at each device, but there's no bluetooth on/off at the top of the screen, there is no bluetooth in the "action center." The bluetooth troubleshooter says my computer doesn't have bluetooth. But I had it this morning. At first, device manager didn't show bluetooth in it, until I show hidden I went to the updates settings and uninstalled the updates dated today. No change to any of the above. Then I went to the Lenovo website and downloaded the driver. The install app said I already had it installed, but I selected to repair the installation. It still doesn't show in Device manager, still no option to turn it on. This is driver information per the Lenovo web site:Intel Bluetooth Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Lenovo Yoga 2 ProDM 17.1.1512.771 CP 17.1.1512.077114 Jul 2015 So then I reinstalled the updates, because support on the internet said if a driver isn't being recognized to update. So I reupdated. Didn't help, so then I rolled back the current build to the prior one, timed 3 hours earlier. Nothing changed (no on/off switch in bluetooth, nothing in action center, shows in Device Manager when I "show hidden"). I'm currently on v. 1809. Then I followed the instructions at this link: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-2-Pro-Bluetooth-Issues/m-p/1331... Read more

Hi all. Nice to meet you. I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 and am noticing two issues.  First, whenever I am on Wifi, my connection will occasionally drop and restart. It is becoming a challenge especially during Skype calls and even simple tasks like browsing. My wifi appears to be OK because I have another PC and Mac that does not have any connectivity issues. Is there something I can do investigate and solve this issues? Moreover, I have connected my Microsoft Sculpt Mouse which had worked great on another PC's. While I can connect it with my Yoga, the connection frequently drops and takes a couple of seconds to re-establish itself. If anything, these issues have become a pain. Any suggestions/ideas on how to rectify the situation would be greatly appreciated!

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

So three weeks ago, I was working on my Yoga 3 14" and popped to get a drink, I came back and the screen was blank, I assumed it had gone to sleep, so hit a key to wake it up. Nothing! The laptop was plugged in, so I know it hadn't run out of charge. After sheer panic, I contacted Lenovo, who told me that my warranty was out by a month, and that I could send it to them to diagnose, and they would tell me how much to fix, then it was up to me if they did or not.One I wouldn't be happy about not having my laptop for a couple of weeks minimum, but also it had all my private information on.I turned to good old google, and stumbled across this forum, and somebody with the same problem.Their solution was to unscrew the back case of the laptop (as mentioned above, my warranty was already out), remove the battery cable, hold down the power button for 30 seconds and reconnect the battery cable.I did this, and low and behold it worked. Fantastic!Only for it to happen twice more that week, and approx twice a week since. Then yesterday my brother contacts me saying his laptop has died, just won't turn on. I have bluetooth headphones and each time I want to use them with my desktop I literally have to spend 5-15 minutes turning them on and then back off and then after 15 tries or more it might end up working.

What's weird is that when I turn them on and they don't work, if I point my sound icon in the systray it does say bluetooth audio instead of SPDIF, but there's still no sound in the headphones. The headphones also don't indicate they are connected with the status LEDs even though the computer says bluetooth audio.

What would be causing this? As you can imagine it's extremely aggravating and I'm about to get rid of these if it continues.

BTW, it's now been close to 30 minutes I've been trying to get them to work this time with no luck so far, this is insane.

If this helps I have another pair that works first time every time but they aren't as comfortable.

Update: My other pair is doing the same now, this is ridiculous, I don't think I've ever had problems connecting them to my Windows Phone or Pocket PC.

Thanks
