Bluetooth Doesn't Exists!?

Q: Bluetooth Doesn't Exists!?

So I got this cell phone that I want to try to connect with my supposedly Bluetooh-enabled laptop. Originally I attempted this after I had upgraded to Internet Explorer 7.0, but that was rife with problems, so I downgraded back to 6. Now if I open up My Computer and double-click on My Bluetooth Places, the "hour glass" sits there for a bit as if it is actually doing something; then, it reverts back to the arrow cursor and the laptop acts as if I never asked it to do something.

I am wondering if the Bluetooth capability of my laptop is gone; I think it must be software/driver related.

Ideas? Is there a way to reinstall the drivers that were there with XP (home)?

Rob

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

There are some issues on BT with IE7 which will be fixed shortly. Did you turn of your firewall??

I have a Dell vostro 1220. I recently upgraded from XP 32 to 7 64. Everything is working fine except the bluetooth adapter. The drivers are installed, it appears in the device manager but not in Control Panel > Network and Internet. I've tried different bluetooth stack software but the problem seams to be with the hardware. It just won't switch on.

I did some hardware upgrades as well more ram and HDD to SSD, all working fine. OS install went well, back up was fine. I'm out of ideas other than I broke it when opening up the laptop. I hope this isn't the case.

Suggestions?

I bought an adapter for my computer that takes RCA input (Red-Yellow-White connectors) and plugs into a USB 2.0 port. Windows, however, refuses to acknowledge its existence. When I plug it in, there is no notification of any new hardware and I can't hear my computer doing anything either. The device doesn't show up anywhere in the device manager (it should be under sound, video, and game controllers). I have installed the drivers and other software for the device, updated various other drivers and installed all new windows updates. I have also tried plugging it into several different USB ports.

I can confirm that the device works because the LED on it turns on when it is plugged in; plus, I have tested it on Windows XP and Windows 7 on 2 other computers (I am using Windows 7).

Synopsis: I plugged in a USB 2.0 device into my computer, and Windows fails to acknowledge its presence (all my other devices are working fine).

I tried to do this:

I'm having a really strange problem and am wondering if anyone has encountered this. I tried to save a file and got an error on saving it, so I quit the program. The file appears as if it was never saved and doesn't show up in directory listing (GUI or cmd.exe).

However, if I try to rename any other file to that filename, it says "Cannot rename file, because file exists" and appends a number to the end. I cannot remove the number. This happens both in the GUI and cmd.exe as well.

So, basically cmd.exe del says the file does not exist, but ren says a duplicate file name exists....

Tried restarting as well.

I have no idea how to delete that "ghost" of a file so I can actually use the filename. I checked folder options and it's not a hidden file or anything like that - it just (doesn't) exist, but it does?

A:Cannot Rename File Because File (Doesn't) Exists

open disk management ..if you don't know how to find it, just right click on "computer" from the start menu and select manage, then scroll down to disk management to open it.
right click on the partition where you tried to save the file.. or C:\ if you don't have extra partitions or more than one HDD
select properties and click on the "tools" tab
click "check now" under error checking, and on the next pop up, check 'automatically fix file system errors' and press start.. select yes when asked if you would like to schedule for the next restart, then restart your computer and let the disk check run.
If that doesn't work there are other options

I was aghast for reinstallations of Windows 8 because of reasons unknown which ran operating system into trouble.
Now I know why this happened, because I selected maximum number of processors shown in 'Msconfig', which really doesn't exists ('Msconfig' showed 4 processors for Intel Core i3210).
From next start Windows 8 ran into trouble and within a day or two of using this desktop stopped responding, happened for all operating systems where I selected maximum number of processors shown in 'Msconfig'.
Therefore do not select maximum number of processors from 'Msconfig'.

Hi all!

HP Compaq 6730b Notebook PC*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center - here is a driver for XP, but when I install, it said that I have to turn on Bluetooth... I don't know what to do...

I don't know what's the type of the built-in Bluetooth, maybe broadcom, I tried this driver: Broadcom.com - Bluetooth Software Download

but there's the same message while install: Turn on Bluetooth...

What can I do? I have a bluetooth mouse, so I need to make bluetooth working good...

Thx a lot!

I've had this problem for quite a while now, and it's starting to drive me crazy!

My bluetooth devices can't connect to my laptop because it appears as though they can't find it at all. The device (bluetooth speakers) was already added and used to work with my laptop and it still works with my phone or other computers without any trouble, but my laptop's bluetooth just isn't working. I can't delete it from my added devices to try and re-add it.

Worst of all: I can't open Bluetooth settings at all! Not using Control Panel, not using the bluetooth icon, not using search, just not at all. I click it and nothing happens.
So, I've tried to look it up in Services.msc to see if it might be disabled, but it says it should be running. In msconfig, it says the Bluetooth service is stopped, however.

Either way, I'd love to use my bluetooth devices with my laptop again, so if anyone knows how to fix this, that would be awesome!

A:Bluetooth doesn't work

Go back to Services and right click on the Bluetooth support service and double click on it.

When the Bluetooth support service properties open look to see what the startup type is, then click on Start in the the Service status.

Hello everyone! So I've got that lenovo yoga 710-14IKB Notebook recently, and I've got little problems with my bluetooth. I've been trying to connect my bluetooth headset to the notebook, and the quality of sound was very bad so i thought that updating bluetooth drivers might work. I installed some of the newest ones and now my computer doesn't see bluetooth at all. I've tried to do everything, installing every driver possible, uninstalling them and back again. I even did recovery whole system by that OneKey Recovery tool. Still nothing. There is nothing related to bluetooth in device menager and even when i tried to add legacy hardware - nothing related to bluetooth, i tried to look up to services and see if there is something that could help, found something like Bluetooth support service which was turned off, so i turned it on, set it to automatic but it doesn't seem to be working either. I really don't know what happened. It seems for me like i had accidentally turned off whole bluetooth card or something. Please help :x

Hi all, I need some help with my new Helix (3698-6CG) I've been using this machine for almost a month and bluetooth never even showed up in Windows. With all the drivers installed, BIOS updated to latest version, Bluetooth is not working, neither showed up ever in Device Manager. Bluetooth is enabled in BIOS and the Bluetooth service also in Windows Services but no change. Disabling and re-enabling it in BIOS (with several restarts) was also no success.  I tried Broadcom's official driver, too but the driver couldn't even detect my bluetooth device. Recently I upgraded to Windows 10 to see if it solves the problem but still no change. I installed the official Lenovo Bluetooth driver. The installation was quick and succesful but still no bluetooth after all. I think I tried every possible solution but there is still no Bluetooth in Windows Device Manager. What could I possibly do now? Thank you in advance!

A:Helix Bluetooth doesn't work

I've had the exact same problem with my 3701-33M. Sent in to Lenovo and it turns out the bluetooth device was missing. Pulled out another brand new one I had on hand, same thing, sent in, no bluetooth card physically installed. The build sheets for these device serial numbers show an asterisk next to the bluetooth device saying "or equivalent". Received my replacement unit under warranty and guess what? Also has no bluetooth. Seems like a full manufacturing batch went out without the cards even being installed. Pretty dodgy QC on these Helixes unfortunately.

I have this exact issue:

A Bluetooth device stops working, and you receive error code 43 together with event 17 after you resume a computer that is running Windows 7 from sleep

It used to happen sometimes on Win 7 32 bit, I've now changed to Win 7 64 bit and I can replicate it everytime I put the machine in and out of sleep.

The only way to fix is to use a different USB mouse to go into Device Manager and disable/re-enable the bluetooth device.

The reason for my post is that I requested the hotfix, yet upon trying to install it, I get a message telling me that it's not applicable for my PC?

Win 7 64 bit Home Premium, SP1, with all available Windows updates installed.

Any further ideas?

Thanks

Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FW290J laptop with built in bluetooth (Broadcom Widcomm, Alps, something like that, some drivers had the former name, others the last one). I use Windows 7 x64 Professional and it seems that the bluetooth doesn't work. After the fresh install (few months ago) it worked. Meanwhile, I didn't use it because I didn't need it. But today I tried to use it but it can't find my device (mobile phone). I tried with many device, but it seems that the bluetooth doesn't scan for devices. I can't also see it from other device (my phone doesn't see it). I tried three driver versions but none of them does anything more than what I have described above. The install does all good, but after that, nothing work. I see the BT icon in tray, near the volume icon, but if I click on it, it appears an empty page scanning for new device forever. Neither adding a device, nor opening the settings worked. The "Allow new device to connect" is blurred gray, so I can't click it. If I uninstall the driver, Windows uses its own driver, but this does also not work.
I think it's not a driver problem, but a Windows one, since it worked some time ago. I don't know what to do. Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.

Ralink Bluetooth 4.0 is the hardware i have (i think?) It worked the first time i used it several years ago, but only provided a terrible sound quality for my headphones. After that first use, it never worked again. Last year I went to best buy to have the geek squad fix it, but that didn't work either. Earlier today, i decided to try downloading updated drivers to get it to work. I think that if i remove this and try again my bluetooth dongle should work.

I have already tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver and it doesn't seem to do any good.

Hi together!

I bought a bluetooth dongle from Speedlink "VIAS Bluetooth USB Adapter".
It implements Bluetooth V2.1+EDR, but that should be backwards compatible.

It is working on Windows 7 and on Linux 3.7, but on Vista (i have SP2), the pc is unable to detect any devices.

First of all the cover of the dongle says that it is "certified for Vista". Windows actually recognizes it and installes the standard bluetooth drivers. The manual confirms that only Microsoft drivers are needed.

So the drivers are installing with no problems, but i can't detect any devices. (I tried my phone, the wiimote, all these things work on the other platforms)

I tried reinstalling the drivers and rebooting a lot of times, but it didn't helped.
I tried writing an e-mail to the manufacturer, but there was no response since the 28th July.

Under "services", the service "bluetooth support service" is running.

I found out that the dongle does not search for devices. I observed this on the Windows 7 pc. When the dongle searches for devices, the LED stays red (which is happening on Windows 7) but on Vista the LED is only flashing.

Has somebody an idea?
Thank you

The same mouse worked fine on my previous laptop (Elitebook 8560w) also with Win7. I have checked properties for the mouse and everything says the device is working properly. I have replaced the battery on the off-chance that was the problem.  I have tried adding a different bluetooth mouse (same model), with the same results. The mice don't respond.

I got my Bluetooth earphones working on my Ideapad, but Dolby Audio doesn't "see" them. When the earphones are connected, Dolby shuts itself off (the entire Dolby app/interface is greyed out and you can't click on anything in it) and tells me "plug in some speakers or earphones". How can I get Dolby to work with BT earphones? The reason I bought earphones is to listen to high-fidelity sound.

I have a Compaq 6530b notebook that I upgraded to Win 10 (64-bit). Win 10 found all devices but the Bluetooth transceiver. It appears as "unknown device" in Device Manager. I have tried the auto-update and manual update to no avail. I have tried to use the Win 7 version Bluetooth driver sp44774.exe, but no luck. It is also difficult to determine the right BT device to find a driver for as HP doesn't give any real details in the device specs. I'm noticing a really weird problem. I have a thinkpad t60p running winxp pro sp2 with integrated bluetooth.

I have two logitech mice, both with wireless USB receivers, and I like to switch them out because sometimes I feel like using my right hand and sometimes my left.

But sometimes when I unplug a receiver, the computer fails to make the "DING ding" usb device leaving sound. When this happens, all of the usb ports stop working. Reinserting the receiver does not fix the problem. Then after awhile, the bluetooth icon in the tray turns read and pops up an error message complaining about not being able to start the bluetooth service.

I have no idea why bluetooth would have anything to do with these logitech usb receivers, but that's what happens.

At first I thought my only way to fix things was to reboot, but then I noticed that when I shut Outlook (2007) suddenly I get the USB dinging sounds and everything is fixed.

Can anyone tell me what is going on and how I can fix this problem?

Thanks

A:weird, unplug usb receiver and computer doesn't recognize; bluetooth fails

The Bluetooth might be connected internally via USB hubs and when you suddenly unplug the USB stuff, the bluetooth stops working because all the hubs are "disconnected".
As for the USB not working until after Outlook 07 is shut down ... maybe your computer can't handle the process. How long do you wait until you decide to restart?

Hello all

Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse Bluetooth doesn't work on my Dell laptop. Here is some more detailed information:
Laptop: Dell Vostro 3750
Operation System: Windows 7 Professional 64bit SP1

Steps to reproduce:
1, turn on Bluetooth of Sculpt Touch Mouse
2, go to 'Devices and Printers'
3, add a device
4, double click 'Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse' on the list of popup screen
5, the 'Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse' device (icon) will be added to device list on 'Devices and Printers'
6, ovserved that the icon of 'Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse' was grey out and couldn't be used
7, tried to move the mouse, but no response and the light on the top of the mouse keeps flashing (red <--> green)

The Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse was suppose to be setup / install in one minute. That's why I prefer to buying the Microsoft mouse product. But it wasn't. It took me few days to try to install it and it was still failed.

Could everyone tell me how to fix that? Thanks.

The Bluetooth driver that is supplied from support.lenovo.com does not enable Bluetooth on the IdeaCentre A720. After installing the driver, there are no bluetooth adapters listed in the Device Manager, the software never popualtes the tasktray. I've attempted using the drivers direct from Broadcom's website, which appear to be the same driver. Neither enable bluetooth on an IdeaCentre A720. This worked previously on Windows 8.0, prior to my Windows 8.1 upgrade. Please update me on a fix or refreshed driver to properly enable bluetooth.

After upgrading to Windows 8.1, I have being unable to pair any bluetooth device with my IDEACENTRE A7 (a couple of SONY bluetooth headphones, Jabra Clipper even my iPhone 5 or iPad 4). On the Apple devices the message "incompatible device" appears, while in the others pair and disconnect almost inmediately. I was able to pair all of them prior to the Windows upgrading. Any ideas?

Okay I'm getting 2 different problems occurring every time I resume my computer from sleep.

So far I've only tried getting my Bluetooth mouse to work after sleep and that hasn't work. This is what I did: Run>Services.msc (My bluetooth is Toshiba) so I went to the Toshiba Bluetooth service and changed it from manual to Automatic. Should I change the logged on as (it's currently Local System).
The service starts although it's just that my bluetooth mouse doesn't want to work after resuming from sleep.

My other sleep problem is 2 of my 2TB (both Samsung HD203WI) disappear after resuming from sleep. Only my SSD (Kingston 64GB) and my other 2TB (Samsung HD204UI) show up.

My Computer:
ASRock 890FX, AMD Phenom II X6 1100T @ 3.3Ghz, 4 GB RAM, 3 SATA HDDs, 750-watt PSU

On my Lenovo Y70 I have a Thinkpad Laser Mouse Model: MOBTC9LA (REV: V06). It does not connect automatically at start (at times I was running WIndows 7 on this computer, I had it working but sometimes it disconnected also.Anyway, under Windows 10 Pro, which I installed recently, (with downloading all drivers from the Lenovo site)  I'm only able to get it connected, when I remove the device and reinstall it. But after a reboot it doesn't connect again. Very weird. --Christoph

I downloaded the driver pack for the M710-q ThinkCentre for Windows 7 Pro x64 and imported the drivers to my MDT setup. However, when I deploy the image, I have an issue with the Bluetooth device in Device manager. It's throwing an error "Windows was unable to start this device." I downloaded the Bluetooth driver from the driver download page for this model PC, imported it into MDT, updated the deployment share, but I still have this error. I contacted Lenovo support and their suggestion was to reinstall the OS from installation media and closed my ticket immediately after. I have a stack of 30 computers that I need to deploy in the next month or so, but I can't deploy them with incomplete drivers. Is there anyone else having this problem, and is there a way to resolve the issue with the driver pack?
