My Website Works In Firefox But Not Internet Explorer.

Q: My Website Works In Firefox But Not Internet Explorer.

I recently made a website using Microsoft Publisher and then I edited it with a 30-day trial of Dreamweaver....I've put it on the web...it seems to be working great with firefox but on internet explorer its slow, images take a very long time to load, the page is off center, etc., here's the link to the website...thanks for any help!

Preferred Solution: My Website Works In Firefox But Not Internet Explorer.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: My Website Works In Firefox But Not Internet Explorer.

Hmm, if you're seriously interested in creating websites you're probably better off learning HTML, CSS (&Possibly Javascript)... Using publisher is probably not the best of ideas, and i've never been impressed by dreamweaver.

If you're interested in learning HTML then i suggest the tutorials here: www.w3schools.com which can guide you through creating w3 standard websites...

As for the problem i see no reason that it should be lagging on one browser and not on the other. And your images are relatively small so i really don't see the problem.

Hey, this is an odd problem. I Have two computers connected to the wireless netgear router and my desktop connected directly through the cable.

Now I can access the internet just fine, get on games like theres no problem. However there is one website that I can not access from any three of the computers. I think its odd.

I was on one of my games earlier, I said to a friend. "Hey how long has basilmarket.com been down."

The reply was odd, "It's not, I'm on right now!"

So why could the server for the site still be running and all my friends view the page but when I go I get

"The connection has timed out

The server at www.basilmarket.com is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

I don't understand why it would just be me.

I cleared all my cache on two of the computers and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

I have an odd situation whereby I can access http://internal.mywebsite.com from any browser, but HTTPS doesn't work on older computers (2003) when using IE. If I use Chrome from the same computer, it works fine.
The SSL certificate is from out root CA and is trusted by all clients.
The only non standard thing about the website is that it uses a NetScaler for SSL offloading so that:
Browser HTTPS ---> NetScaler SSL offloads --> HTTP back to website
The error within IE 8 is a generic "page cannot be displayed".
How can I troubleshoot this?

Hello fowler, and Welcome to Sevenforums.

It is probably not a very good idea to list your email in a public forum where anyone could potentially use it to send you spam (unless you want people to send you answers to your email, thus giving you their email address *Gasp* are you a spammer?). Which begs the question of why you would want someone sending you the answer via email instead of through this forum.

Now to the problem at hand for this forum. Please answer all of these questions: When did this problem start? What antivirus do you run? Have you changed any registry items? Have you installed a 3rd party firewall? Why do you have all the major browsers installed (this one just because I'm curious)? Can you go to youtube and play a video, and can you hear sound then?

Hello everybody.
I'm no computer noob, and most computer problems I've encountered I've been able to solve myself or with information from the Internet.

However, this one leaves me no choice but to humbly ask your help, since I've lost any clue on how to figure it out.

Here's The problem:
For a few months now, ineternet Explorer is not showing any pages.
Whatever page I ask it to show, it shows the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" page instead.
I click "Diagnose Connection Problems", and it finds no connection problems.
The strangest part here, is that Firefox, and any other online programs work perfectly, with no problems at all.

I'm running Windows Vista Basic with Internet Explorer I'm not sure it's the latest version, but can't check for updates, since the update checker is IE-based, and doesn't work on firefox.

I have Kaspersky Internet Security installed and fully updated on my computer. Made a full scan and found nothing. Tryed turning off firewall, to see maybe it is causing the problem, but no success. IE still showing no signs of life.
I have tried restoring IE settings to default, but it didn't help either.
I have tried playing with the network setting, but nothing worked either.
I've tried connecting through other wireless networks, but nothing ever works.
IE can't even connect to my router.

I've run a DSS scan, and there's nothing there I can see.

Hi, I think your problem might be in your comment tags - you have an exclamation point at the beginning and then end of the tags, but there should only be one at the beginning:

And change the rest of them and then see if it works.

Hey Guys,

One of our company's websites is having a strange problem. Here's what happens:

1. In Firefox, I type in the webpage.
2. I wait for it to load, and it keeps saying "waiting for ......" in the bottom statusbar.
3. After about 10 seconds, the page will FINALLY load.
4. I have graphed the load performance in Firefox with Google's Load Time Analyzer add-on and the initial connect/search for the website is what takes a TON of time. Once that is done the items on the page (even third party images) will load quickly.

The website is SchooDoodle.com, but if you visit, you will most likely get the cached version (which loads ok). We have another method to get the dynamic page.

I have no clue to why it is doing this. The weird thing is that IE seems to load the page just fine (quick and easy).

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks!

Before I describe my problem, I want to let you all know that this is my work laptop.  My work IT people have already tried a lot of things such as combofix, malwarebytes, restore points, etc for THREE DAYS.  Therefore, I apologize in advance if the work that they did make it more difficult to fix.  I am coming here as my last resort before they reimage my computer.

At the beginging of this week (2/25), I noticed that I cannot access any website via Chrome.  Chrome shows a circle animiation in the upper left hand corner of the window.  I have no problem in accessing the same website with IE.  One interesting observation is that all icons (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Search, etc) show "color" when I bring up Chrome.  This usually mean that they can access their associated services.  Chrome can still access my gmail setting, including my bookmarks etc.  I looked and did not notice any redirection in my proxy settings.

I contacted my IT guys then an they tried every which way possible to fix my problem.  They noted that Chrome would work in "no sandbox" mode but that's not safe.  They said I had some malware infection and they took care of them.  However, even Malwarebytes show zero infection, Chrome never works.  IE never has any problems.

I hope that I can find some help in this forum.  Here is the DDS log.

Hi, Struggling with some odd behavior on my website under Explorer, but works fine under Netscape. From my home page:

when a section is selected from the pulldown menu at the bottom, it begins on a fresh screen under Netscape (as its supposed to), but under Explorer, no fresh screen, and the viewer has to scroll down below the home page! Subsequent section selections work fine under both - its just the first selection under Explorer that problem occurs.
a setUp function is called in each section to activate the section page. In that function is a statement: parent.frames[0].document.clear()
which presumably begins the fresh screen ...
How can I brute force Explorer to begin the first selected section on a fresh screen?

This has to be an internet problem. Check the connections between the computer and your router/modem - make sure they are tight. Check your phone connection between the modem and the wall socket. When you say that various programs don't work what exactly doesn't work? Do they start up okay?

If the connections are okay then try pinging a remote address. Click on "Start|Run" and type "cmd" (enter). In the box that opens type "ping www.microsoft.com" and press enter. If the net is connected you will get 4 results back. If it comes up "Timed Out" then the problem is with your net connection and not the computer.

Also, to find out exactly where the problem lays, in the CMD box type "tracert www.microsoft.com" and press enter. This will tell you how far the signal is getting before it times out. If NOTHING comes up then the problem is between the computer and router. If it gets one result only then the problem is between the router and the internet (which could be an ISP problem).

Hi and Welcome to TSF.

Please clarify a few things for me -

1. Do you have two computers - a 32-bit and a 64-bit?
2. Exactly what is it that "shows the computer as disconnected from the Internet"?
3. Have you checked the Control Panel ==> Connect To screen to see if in fact you have Internet connectivity?
4. How long ago was it that you last connected to the Internet successfully?
5. What anti-virus product do you use?
6. When was the last anti-virus scan performed?
7. Did you find anything in the anti-virus scan logs?
8. Do you use Windows Firewall?
9. Do you use a third party firewall?
10. If #9 YES - which one?

Please provide the manufacturer and model number of your computer.

Regards. . .

I have an older computer using Windows 7 32-bit that on one of the user accounts the Internet stops working for Firefox and IE, but works fine for Chrome. The only thing that fixes it is to restart the computer. I've tried logging off and logging back in, I've tried restarting FF in safe mode and disabling everything in IE that I can find. The other accounts have no problem. The only thing that is different about this account is that I have it set up with Norton Family. But even if I turn off Norton Family, it takes a restart to get the Internet working for FF and IE and it then works fine with NF turned on.

Any idea what could be causing this behavior?

One day i installed video card drivers on my computer and restarted the internet stopped working. So I tried to use AIm and I could easily sign on there.

I messed around with a few things, and found out that if i ctrl+alt+deleted and went to processes, and ended "teatimer.exe" that the internet would work without a hitch. Teatimer is a program that comes with spybot.

So i uninstalled teatimer, and now it wont start up, but i can't get the internet to work. Also spybot wont open either, which leads me to believe its some virus of some sort.

I get busy and don't get back to this thread soon enough, so it gets closed. Sorry about that.

But to answer the question from Norton_Support, no I did not set up rules with Norton Family, because I couldn't tell what was interfering with the access to the Internet when I had Norton Family set up, so I turned it all off. But when I did have Norton Family, it didn't make any difference at all in making it easier to access the Internet from the Guest. It took me a while to figure out that the problem happened whenever I updated a browser.

I understand that the Guest doesn't have permission to change the firewall rules, but it sure seems like I should be able to say (as an Administrator) just once that I give the Guest permission to use a particular browser to get to the Internet, regardless of how often that browser is updated.

I have a laptop from my company and I have a problem accessing the internet:

- When I'm connected to my company network : everything works fine.
I go on internet through IE, Chrome, Firefox etc.

- But when I'm at home or in another company or my 3G usb stick:
Only IE works for internet. Firefox and Chrome display error page like I wasn't connected to internet.

It seems not related with browser's proxy setting. (I have tried all options and moreover, my home connection doesn't require proxy settings for example)

Thank you!

A:Only IE works for Internet, not Firefox, Chrome ?

Welcome to the forums.

Even though you stated that you have "tried all options"...
I'm going to ask that you set Firefox set to use "No proxy"
Restart the computer and recheck that same Firefox setting
If it is still set to "No proxy", then try and surf
If it has changed, then check to see if your company has installed a proxy changing tool... such a tool might not be handling browsers other than IE correctly.

Hi, recently I was messen around with my computer since I was trying to change my ip address and I didn't know how so I looked on the internet and tried a few things, including some thing that told me to delete some thing called widcom or some thing like that and download a knew version of it. Nothing worked and I am not sure if this is what cause my problem or what. The problem is that any thing that uses the internet (including IE, Safari and the Visual Basic setup program) does not work, the only thing that works is Firefox. So far I have scanned my computer with spybot, a-squared anti-virus, and I have used CCleaner to repair the registry and clean out all the cookies. I have also checked and I am not offline on internet explorer nor do I have a proxy on. Everything is connected correctly too. One thing I saw that was weird is that in internet explorer when I went to Tools>Internet Options>Connections under dialup and VPN settings it list quite a few different connections also when ever I try to connect to one of them it only tries connecting via dialup but it never works and I have DSL. Also when I first open IE7 it says navigation to the web page was canceled then it changes to "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page." I have also made sure that in Services it has the DNS on and set to automatic. One more thing, when I was trying to change my ip I found some thing that told me to go to CMD and type flushDNS. Would that by any chance screw with the... Read more

A:Nothing internet related works but firefox

First of all, your ISP assigns you an ip and is in charge of your presence on the WAN. If you don't have a static (fixed) ip account, you can generally get a new one by releasing and renewing your licence within your DSL modem. Also, running ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew from a command line will work in some cases, depending on how you are set up.

flushing your DNS would have no impact. If you have cycled your modem (turn off router, modem, and computer, turn on modem, wait 1 minute, turn on router, wait 30 seconds, turn on computeR) and still can't connect, then:

Depending on how long ago you made the "adjustments," try doing a system restore Control Panel -- > system -- > System Protection

If there are no resotr points prior to when you started making "adjustments," I would go into network connections, delete them all, and then restart. Hopefully they will reinstall with default settings and you will be good to go. If not, then we'll get a bit more detailed.

Good luck!

Firefox works as usual.
Network Magic shows a good connection; the internet speed test gives normal readings.
However, IE 7 will not connect. I get the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Also, Microsoft Update cannot connect. I have tried the following:
- rebooted many times
- reinstalled IE 7
- repaired & reset WinSock
I don't really care about IE, but not being able to update Windows is a problem.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi,I've been struggling with this problem for a few days now. The problem is that I do NOT have internet access for firefox/chrome/dropbox/etc but i DO have internet access for IE and certain OS apps (like Network Troubleshooter and weirdly Filezilla). I've read and tried most of the typical solutions with no avail. What I've Tried:Safemode with Networking - same situation, I can use IE but not Firefox/Chrome/etc Reseting Winsock (netsh winsock reset, etc) - didn't work, possibly just made matters worse? Flushing DNS (ipconfig /flushdns, etc) I do NOT have a special proxy, and neither firefox, nor chrome, nor IE are trying to use one I have added exceptions in Windows Firewall, then just straight up disabled the firewall I have Avira antivirus, but it does not contain any firewall features and no place that I can see to add any such exception LSP-Fix.exe (I tried to fix the LSP registery, it found 1 problem from leftover Bonjour dll, and I've repaired it but its changed nothing) I ran quick-scan on malwarebytes - found nothing I ran checkdisk and found no errors I have no system restore pointAlso, with firefox, I hve tried it in safe-mode and created a new profile, but that hasn't changed anything. When I try to make a connection with firebug open, it says the request was "aborted"One background point, I had originally been struggling with my Wifi drivers because my wifi would connect to some but not all routers. I'm having a weird issue.

I have a Toshiba Satellite X205 w/Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 1.8Ghz and 4 GB RAM running Windows Vista SP2.

I connect to the internet wirelessly through a D-Link router attached to a cable modem.

I recently had a problem with malware/virus which I thought I had removed with Malwarebytes, but now I have a connection issue which I wonder if is related.

I can connect normally to the internet through my browser (Firefox), I can stream video, download files etc. But other programs, like the iTunes Store, Pandora, Steam, etc cannot connect to the internet.

Here are my recent logs from Malwarebytes:

I was at my friend's house and connected his ethernet cable to my laptop. I checked my email and downloaded a document file and along came a scareware? I'm not really sure how a virus or scareware came into my laptop. It was a fake antispyware soft program. I used Superantispyware and another Mareware removal program to try and delete the virus/scareware. I think these two program did the job, but now my Internet Explorer won't work. I think it is something I did with these two programs, but I'm not sure. This is my hijackthis log below, can anyone please help me solve this problem? Thank you.
