Email based call center

Q: Email based call center

I just crossed m mind this site might be helpful for this...

I’m part of a startup where we have a variety of clients spread out across the Los Angeles area. Our “call center” is basically our cell phones. There’s been some discontent with this because clients call us on our time off. Is there a way to convert our calls into email notifications? An email is less intrusive than a phonecall...

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,
This is a UK-based call mgt service. Perhaps something like this in your area? It would enable you to have a 'standard' among your co-workers and a consistent service.

Hi

I would like some recomendations on a Windows based program that i can use to manage incomming and out going calls depending on multiple variables using voice modem/s. It would have to be able to redirect calls through a VOIP line.

The ability to handle caller input ie. press 1 to..... would be very usefull.
Also the ability to directing voice calls through the LAN to various networked machines, ok this one's Bonus!

Posible Variables:
Time of day - Different mesage depending on ToD
CallerID - Known callers have access to a diferent mesage/menu
Voice call or Data - detect & accept Fax transmition

If you know any programs that will do only some of the tasks please still post as i will be looking at many options.

Free programs are preferd but I would pay for a program that alows for most functions

As for Linux solutions I am not up to speed with Linux but could be interested in a distro if it had a GUI for management so please do post.

Thanks in Advance other TSG's

Hi guys,
A client is planning on setting up a call center using an E1 line, that a telephony company has already provided with a toll free number. they want about 20 workstations and a wallboard screen should also be included. the hardware (cisco) isn't the problem
but the software bit that will be able to ensure reports on all incoming, outgoing, received and missed calls is the problem. If anyone has a clue on the best software for the job kindly assist.

What a surprise with wages so low there.
Sooner or later I expect that outsourcing will end up costing someone a lot of money, make money for the lawyers and put the company into bankruptcy.

I recently uninstalled Avast 7 free AV which I have been using & recommending since v4 largely because it just became too busy/ambitious/bloated/resource hungry...etc... but the final nail in their coffin was the recent iYogi Fubar-ness/fiasco https://blog.avast.com/2012/03/15/iyogi-support-service-removed/We had initial reports of this behavior a few weeks ago and met with iYogi's senior executives to ensure the behavior was being corrected. Thus, we were shocked to find out about Mr. Krebs' experience. As a consequence, we have removed the iYogi support service from our website and shortly it will be removed from our products. We believe that this type of service, when performed in a correct manner, provides immense value to users. As such, over the next weeks, we will work with iYogi to determine whether the service can be re-launched.That they're actually considering still using this service speaks volumes to me about their (Avast's) business model/marketing strategy. Buh bye Avast, hello M$EMy parting shot to Avast/iYogi.

(does anyone have any recommendations for a good phone system for a call center which must act like it is many different companies? for each 'company' we represent, i must be able to build an english and a spanish call center.

we currently have two nortel business communications manager boxes but i think that a product better suited for our particular functions would improve our performance.

we have two pri's going into each bcm.

we also have a number of issues with the d channels intermittently going down.

thanks in advance for any advice.)

A:(call center phone system)

If you are looking to replace your system the Avaya (Lucent) Definity is excellant. Very pricey though. It will handle any configuration you can think of running. It is the same system used by HSN and the Federal Reserve. I've worked with Nortel, Siemens-Rolm and Fujitsu and the Lucent was the best of them although for cheaper money the Fujitsu 9600 isnt bad.

I am a firm believer in the Media Center program and have been using it everyday for three years in my family room. I would like to extend the media capabilities around the house. My house is fully wired with two cat 5E and two coax to all the rooms. All wires are homerunned to a central rack. I have one other XP computer that I have networked, but it is not very practical for entertainment purposes. I am aware of some media center extenders on the market. Do I need one for each location? Are there limits to the number of users at one time? Does anyone have recommendations on equipment or configurations of a network to best utilize the Media Centers capabilities? I may be dreaming, but I would love to find a wireless monitor w/ remote (10-13", and I am nervous about touch screen) that I can access my Media Center media while the Media Center is being used by someone else.

He asks for me by name then says he's from the "Windows Support Center" or something like that. I can tell he's at a call center in India or something, poor phone connection, I can hear other people in the back ground.

He says our computer is sending out error messages every time we're on the web or something like that, might be from a virus or some kinda windows errors. We have 5 computers, I think I'm clever by asking him which one he's talking about and he replies "the one running Windows 7".

Okay, so I'm skeptical, but figure I'll see where this foes.

So he asks me to run EVENTVWR on that computer which brings up a "even viewer: window, he asks me to look under WINDOWS LOGS - APPLICATIONS and read to him what the sources are, he asks me how many there is etc. I tell them there are hundreds, he asks for the sources and gives me some kinda techno talk as to what's causing that error.
Then he asks what the sources are for the ones marked in yellow as a warning, get more techno talk.

Next he asks me to run WWW.SUPPORT.ME which brings up a "support connection" window "powered byLogMeIn ". It asks for a 6 digit code which he gives me. Now I don't know what to expect, for all I know this will ope... Read more

I gave my laptop for repair of my fan which was giving very weird sound and then I got call back, which I could not attend. They left a message for me to call them back with a number. When i called on that number it got redirected to general voice mail. I asked them to connect me to the reapair center personal. Now the main headache starts. They can't connect me to the center. All they can do is that they can generate some ticket/requiest saying that those personal need to contact me. Even after calling three times, I haven't got call back yet. Also, as that person has sent me a voice mail, he must be waiting for my answer and certainily won't call me back. So, now my laptop is going to be in the facility for forever and i need it by 14th Dec, which won't happen. I don't have any medium to reach those people, nor those hp customer service people. As their policy says, if they can't contact me in 3 business days, my laptop will come back unrepaired.  And, also it will miss the delivery date of 14th.  Worst service support ever.  And worst part is that evevytime I call them, each person says I don't see any ticket assignment by anyone to get you call back. Unbelievable. So what, they just say whatever they want to say without doing anything.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details). If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Use AOL on-line website interface for Email.

Working on a Mac with OS X 10.8.5 (although since my AOL access is on their web interface, I could access with other machines)

Need to provide copies of thousands of my AOL emails due to being deposed as a witness in a business litigation case.

Question:

How can I most efficiently copy the 1000+ emails from the AOL web-based storage to something the legal types will be able to print and read?

I'd prefer not to give a 3rd party access to my email and I'd also prefer not to have to PDF print every email, especially since I've just been roped in as a witness.

Any more-clever-than-me folks have any thoughts on how to copy a large number of emails off the AOL online site?

I just received a phone call from a person purporting to be from the Windows Technical Center, Jacksonvill, FL (888-970-4250) who said that they have noted a security issue with my computer.  This person asked me to open the run command line and bring
up the windows event viewer (eventvwr).  Prior to opening up windows event viewer I asked for verification of this person's credentials and he gave me the information above, and a name that I did not write down.
The process appeared to be somewhat suspicious and I said that I would need to verify this person and organization and call back the toll free number before I went any further.
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and can offer any advice....

I am a teacher and my school has a web-based email service that works flawlessly at work. From home, using Comcast, I can access all the pages on my school's Web site without any problems. That is, except the email link. Sometimes that particular link works, sometimes it just stalls and times out. Once I reset my router and modem, all if fine again. Unfortunately, it happens again and again, sometimes minutes after I have reset things. This happens sometimes on one other site too, one similar to youtube.com, but not nearly as regularly. There is no pattern to the problem. Here is a hijack of my system if that helps.

I've always used client based email (Netscape/Thunderbird and in recent years Outlook) suspecting that web based email was inferior and suitable for only novice or casual users. In trouble shooting a neighbor's problem with his Juno web mail where he never gets my attached or inserted (embedded) jpg's, I've just come to the realization that at least Juno and Yahoo are unusable if you want to forward a large number of attached and/or inserted photos given the hoops you have to jump through to view the photos. If I forward him an email from Outlook with, for example, 20 inserted jpg's, I find that at least in my Yahoo email, you have to open them one at at time and with a lot of clicking. This is nuts. Is this typical of all web based email solutions? I have not tried gmail yet.

I set my computer so I have to okay all cookies, and the problem is that I keep okaying the cookies for this email, and it keeps asking me to do it over and over, interfering with writing email messages. Another problem is that suddenly I am not getting every email message. I realize the problem could be from my web-based email provider, but I am curious about whether the XP firewall or any of the bazillion XP patches Windows has put out (all of which I've also downloaded recently) might be messing me up. How do I check, and if Windows somethings are at fault, what do I do?

My problem has been going off and on for a while now. I have a Yahoo! Mail account that I have had for years and relay upon completely. Recently, I receive mail but I cannot compose, reply or forward. I was advised to system restore, I did so and the problem vanished for a few days. It came back again so I did the same, and again it worked. Now it is back again, and I know that the problem is reappearing because of an update either to Windows or my anti-virus program, that whenever installed, plays havoc with my system. That is why system restore works for a day and then it is back again because the update is reinstalled. I don't want to keep solving the problem by restoring the system, nor do I want to make my computer vulnerable by not downloading and installing all essential updates. What should I do? Are there any other solutions to this problem?

Hey everyone. I had an account here a long time ago and got some great help, so now I hope that happens again.

Part of the problem is that my free email accounts don't work the way they should.

Hotmail gives me a message saying that it's 'working on your request' but never finishes. I have the program Ad Muncher installed and it used to be that if I disabled that, then Hotmail would work properly. It doesn't anymore. (Plus, half the time, the ads on Hotmail make my IE freeze. Oh, and Hotmail doesn't work at all with Firefox.)

Yahoo doesn't let me open my messages (and on the new version of Yahoo, the message preview doesn't function either).

Gmail works alright, but I can't send attachments.

Aside from just that, I've come across several websites that won't load for me but seem to work fine for everyone else.

http://answers.yahoo.com is one. http://duotrope.com is another. http://www.blogger.com works alright, but I have trouble posting to my blog as well.

Any idea what the problem could be? I've tried disabling Ad Muncher, turning off my antivirus program and firewall. I've tried deleting my cookies and temporary internet files. I'm out of ideas. Someone please help. I'm a freelance writer. Without email and duotrope, I can't get paid.

I also can't access my online banking (fleet.com), and have had trouble posting to some tech support forums. I thought it was a problem with secure sites, but I am able to access some secure sites.

All of these services are fully available from a friend's computer running on the same internet connection, through the same router, so it's a problem specific to my machine. Any help?

Then the next thing that happens is it gives me a "page cannot be displayed" or "problem loading the page" error message. But with gmail whenever i just type in "mail.google.com" i get the "problem loading the page" message. I can search on msn, yahoo, and google. Just can't log onto my email. But the thing that i find weird is that i CAN log onto my 3 accounts and send and receive emails at any other computer (school, library, friend's house, ect.) It is my home computer that has the problem. I have gone through the vary long process of cleaning my computer as your forum recommended. The only reason i'm doing this is because i was told that "hijackthis" would fix my problem. but i was also told that i shouldnt just go in and delete every thing it finds in the scan(which i came very close to doing). So i came here to have someone check my log and tell me what i should delete so here it is: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 9:13:21 PM, on 2/10/2006 Platform: Windows 2000 SP4 (WinNT 5.00.2195) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Running processes: C:\WINNT\System32\smss.exe C:\WINNT\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINNT\system32\services.exe C:\WINNT\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINNT\s... Hi, I was just reading with interest a previous post

http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/710581-solved-automatic-email-alerts-using.html

wherein a solution was given that involved using ms excel to send email based on certain logic and/or events. I'm looking at a similar scenario where I'd be interested in knowing if market conditions are appropriate. If so, then I'd also like to receive an email. I'm not, however, using an app like XLQ (although I know about it) that feeds live data into into Excel. Instead I'm using Greenchart's software. It sends me an alert when certain logical conditions are met. The problem is that Greenchart's box for logic isn't very big, so I've ended up breaking the logic into multiple alerts. So for simplification what I end up with is something like this If I receive email marked in the header as #1 and email marked in the header as #3 (or similarly #2 & #3 etc) then I know I need go into Greenchart and make buy/sell decisions from there. So I was wondering if there was a way to get these emails to show up in Excel and then perform the kind of logic indicated in the thread above (so that if I have to get up in the middle of the night, I know it's probably worthwhile versus just being notified of email that's not actionable). By the way, I'd be interested in skipping bringing it into Excel if we could come up with something more elegant.

I'm running windows xp professional, and I've been having trouble accessing web-based email services (hotmail, yahoomail, and also a private microsoft exchange server web interface) from my computer. I've tried using both firefox and internet explorer. When attempting to load my hotmail or yahoo inbox in ie, the page simply never loads. When I try in Firefox, I get an error message that reads "the document contains no data." I am able to access my inbox at the exchange server, but am unable to send emails.

Any help?

is there any generally agreed replacement for outlook express?

do the godzillas etc all have a zillion ads on them?

thanks all

A:computer based email programs

Outlook express is no more.
I guess I'm assuming you do not want Outlook?
IMHO, Mozilla Thunderbird is an excellent client. No ad-ware. It can even connect to an Exchange Server, if you desired. I use it on Linux, but works equally well on Windows 7.

Hi, take a look at some of the posts, there are quiet a few that do just that, they may need a little editting for your purpose but...
Here's a simple module that does just that, all you need to do is wriet a amcro that fills in the blanks

Code:

Function MailData(mSubject As String, mMessage As String, Sendto As String, Optional CCto As String)
Dim eSubject As String, Sendto As String, CCto As String, EBody As String
Dim app As Object, Itm As Variant
Set app = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")
Set Itm = app.CreateItem(0)

With Itm
.Subject = mSubject
.To = Sendto
If Not IsMissing(CCto) Then .CC = CCto
.Body = mMessage
' .Attachments.Add (NewFileName1) ' Must be complete path
.Display ' This property is used when you want
' .send
End With
Set app = Nothing
Set Itm = Nothing
End Function

P.S. You forgot to mention the Excel versio you're using

Greetings all! My friend's computer seems to be having a little bit of a problem.

He is unable to access ANY web based e-mail or play FFXI from his computer. Spybot/Adaware/Microsoft anti-spyware all come up clean. HJT log is somewhat clean. It has an entry as an R3 (I think R3) that is before any of the browser information. I will get the log posted ASAP. Any ideas what it could be?

No virri on the computer per House Call.

Can people here tell me of other email programs that they have tried and find good. I'd like a change.

Thanks in advance.

A:Email programs or whatever you call them

I have used Eudora for several years now, its excellent.

Easy to use, setup and to backup the emails.

All attachments are stored in the format in which they were sent, in a separate directory.

I use the Paid version, good spam filter and other rules filter.

I have been using Outlook for my Roadrunner email account for quite some time. Recently I purchased a newer version of Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student edition, which does not have Outlook included. If I install the newer version of Microsoft Office, will it remove my Outlook program? If so, I need to know how to export all of my contacts and email folders from Outlook to a web based service like Time Warner Cable (Roadrunner). I skimmed over their website but could not find a way to do this. If I can't do that, are there any other applications similar to Outlook that will handle my contacts, calendar and email? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys;

May I have some opinions from you here about free-web-based email service?

Currently I'm using hotmal/yahoo/gmail but as of the moment "cannot" access my yahoo/hotmail accounts. Only the gmail works fine. I'm looking for a safe, secure free email service like gmail that has the capability to be used with Thunderbird and MS Outlook'07.

I tried out fastmail but was saddened to know you can receive mail via Thunderbird but you cannot send outgoing messages.

Can you recommend me a safe/secure web-based email service alternate to hotmail/yahoo mail/ that can be used with Thunderbird/Outlook 07?

Thank you!

Hi,

New here. I dug up a thread that Zack Barresse solved many years ago. I am looking to do the exact same thing. The link to the thread is below. My file is infinitely more complicated than what that user was asking for so I need a bit more help tuning the VBA. Link: http://forums.techguy.org/business-applications/710581-automatic-email-alerts-using-excel.html

Some specifics:

- I am using Outlook not Express
- Excel 2007
- All the functionality is complete for monitoring several live streams of securities data with several trade indicators.
- It is consolidated onto one sheet for manual monitoring (Picture below). Basically takes copious amounts of data and reduces it to just IF and AND functionality for the triggers for easy use from all the other sheets.
- The workbook will be open and running/refreshing on its own 24/7 as it is now.

I am a busy guy, I just need the VBA to automatically email me remotely when any of the 7 currency pairs causes a trigger when I am on the go. I can log trades from an app on my phone.

One other hurdle would be that if say (Using percentages to keep it simple) that a trigger would be if something reached as high as 80% to send the notification email. But where the system refreshes every 60 seconds it shouldn't send another notification each time it remains at or above 80%. Just the once. It may remain there for hours and that is a lot of emails.

Thoughts? and many many thanks in advance.

Outlook web based email security question.

I am sending an email to someone but I don't want third parties to look at it.

Which is the best method?
Uploaded to Outlook dot com, then send the email
Use Thunderbird IMAP and send email through outlook dot com servers

I know once mail is uploaded to Outlook dot com servers or outlook dot com it remains secure.

Does it remain secure after outlook dot com sends the email or is it wide open? I hope you can understanding what I am asking.

Hi there

I'm trying to look for an alternative robust email client to outlook -- want to start gradually moving away from Ms Office to cheaper solutions.

I don't like the way Ms is going with subscription based Office 365 and Office 2013 is IMO "The Pits" - office 2010 works fine but I want where possible to start using alternatives. Libre Office is fine for some things but not quite ready for prime time yet (IMO) especially for EXCEL but I can start moving away from office gradually with an email client first.

The email client must NOT be web or browser based (I Hate webmail type of things) and must support IMAP. I don't want it to have ADWARE or NAGWARE (you know those that keep persuading you "Please update to PRO version etc etc"). It must also support MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS. It should ideally have a similar or identical interface to OUTLOOK -- simple plain, not like the background I've seen on some Gamers machines !!!!

If it can integrate with GMAIL that's fine but not mandatory. Preferably free too .

I did see a portable client ISCRIBE at i.Scribe and InScribe: A Small and Easy to use Email Client but it looks as if it might be a little experimental.

I discarded OPERAMAIL -- don't want any BROWSER or web mail type of stuff.

Linux has some decent choices such as EVOLUTION (probably one of the best if not the best) but Windows seems a bit lacking in this area -- pity OUTLOOK EXPRESS wasn't continued after XP -- it was small, simple and could als... Read more

A:alternative email client to Outlook (NOT WEB BASED) please

From my previous post in Need a good email client :
Mozilla Thunderbird. You might be put off by claims about its future (no more development) but it will still be supported for a long time (stability/security fixes still going on). Zimbra Desktop Incredimail Pegasus Mail Opera Mail eM Client Windows Live Mail / Windows 8 Mail App
When have you tried opera mail last ? It should be separate from the browser today (it still uses the old presto engine while the browser uses the chrome one), check here : Opera Desktop Team - Opera Mail

Thunderbird, and Zimbra are all good choices and should fit your requirements. eM Client is very nice but it supports only 2 mail accounts on free version. Pegasus Mail is quite good but the UI is old now and it doesn't feel like outlook. Incredimail has promotional tag lines in your outgoing email and some ads show up.

Not included in this list is Claws Mail - the email client that bites!, since I never tried it. It seems to be OK, it's open source and works on both linux and windows, the interface looks a bit like outlook express, and it supports multiple accounts and IMAP. It might be what you're looking for.

I need a web-based service that can do the following:
-access multiple email accounts
-let you delete emails from the original server on a per email basis
-let you choose from different reply addresses

I think there are some pay services with these capabilities. I'm hoping to find one that is free.
