WWAN yiga xi 6th generation 20ld series

Q: WWAN yiga xi 6th generation 20ld series

Is it possible to install antenna on this model and have the sim card reader working with my LTE card

Preferred Solution: WWAN yiga xi 6th generation 20ld series

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

So I just added a WWAN card (Fibocom L850-GL (FRU 01AX792)) to the X1 Yoga 3rd Gen, but the typically "pre-installed" Antenna is not pre installed, I guess next year the Sim slot won't be there if you don't buy it out the door with it.  Does anyone know the Lenovo FU... i mean FRU... Part number for the WWAN Antenna for (Fibocom L850-GL (FRU 01AX792)) These connectors are tiny.

I was wondering if someone has successfully mounted an SSD in the WWAN port on a Carbon X1 5th generation? I'm about to buy a 6th generation X1 and would like to do that. If you have actually done it, I'd sure appreciate knowing what parts you used and any tricks. I ask because I have an old T420S with an M2 drive in the WWAN port and it has worked brillianty for years. I'd like to set this machine up simiarly, with a second 1TB drive in the WWAN port, giving me 2TB total. Alternately, is it possible to order the X1 6th generation with no SSD but included install media? I could then snap in a Samsung 2TB 960 Pro drive and build it up from the media. Thank you for your help!

I am looking at upgrading my daughters laptop.  It is a B575 type 1450.  Wondering if anyone had any luck on installing a mSATA drive into the mini PCI-e slot used for WWAN?  Not sure if the motherboard can be configured in bios to use it as a sata drive.  I might just have to update the slow 5400 sata drive with a SSD drive.  Would like to still keep the old HD for data. Thanks for the help.

Hey guys, I've recently purchased a 6th generation Thinkpad X1 Carbon. At the time of my purchase it was only avaliable without WWAN.However I can now see that Lenovo il selling them with built-in WWAN too. I've opened up my laptop and I can see there is a sim-card reader installed, as well as the sim slot on the back. Also there is a free slot where the WWAN card can go. I can see there are no LTE antennas installed however.See picture: https://imgur.com/o5RU96U I have tried getting in touch with the local Lenovo sales phone number but I am always put on hold and the call gets dropped after 15 minutes of waiting each time.I have also tried opening a support ticket regarding this, asking for the part number on the modem and the antenna. However, I was only provided with the part number for the antenna. Do you guys know of any documentation on how I should go ahead for installing the antenna? As far as I understand the antenna is PN 01YR426 . What LTE modems are supported on this machine? From the specs sheet  I can see that only the Intel XMM 7360 (Fibocom L850-GL), M.2 card is listed as OEM. Where can I purchase this L850-GL module? I have tried looking various places but it doesen't seem to be avaliable for sale anywhere?! Could I maybe use a  Sierra wireless AirPrime EM7455, or something else, instead? Also, is the antenna (01YR426) the same no matter which card I use? Really liking my X1 but LTE would b... Read more

A:Aftermarket WWAN P-series?

You can order the WWan card from Lenovo at any time and install it yourself. I don't know about any aftermarket WWan card. The ability to do mobile broadband has become an indispensible part of my development station (P50). When I'm in my trusted environment (ie, my office) I have the WWan disabled. But when I'm at a client facility there are many times that I don't want the security exposure of logging into their wireless and can resort to the WWan.  Last spring, I went on a "roadie" and many of the hotels I stayed in did not even have password protected wireless. It was nice to get a little work done without worrying about compromising my entire operation. The WWan is a stable, secure, and fairly inexpensive connection for a variety of situations. Couldn't live without it now!

Hello all,  First time posting, but I have surfed and lurked a lot. I am about to purchase a new notebook as I am about to sell my business and start a new adventure.  Typing this from an X201 Tablet that is getting a little long in the tooth. Since I am, by nature, a bottom feeder, I naturally gravitate toward the Lenovo Outlet to see what is availabe in the Refurb/Scratch and Dent pile.  The problem is that it appears that virtually none of the machines available there come with a WWAN. Is there a definitive resource I can use to determine if a machine I am considering at the outlet has the capacity for me to add one of the Lenovo WWAN cards?  In other words, will the product number tell me if the machine already has the WWAN antennas installed without having a serial number? Thank you for your help.

I hate my present computer and want to get a laptop that will have good processing for years to come.

I don't know anything about the significance of which Intel generation. Is 4rth generation necessarily better than 3rd generation?

Windows XP

Service Pack 3

Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz
x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9
2.05 GB of RAM
Graphics Card: Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV
Graphics Controller, 64 Mb
Hard Drive Size 114.4GB
Free Space was 35.8GB; now under 20GB because after backing up My Documents on Google Drive, Google Drive has duplicated the whole darn thing on my hard drive
Motherboard: Dell Computer Corp., 0G1548
Antivirus : Webroot Internet Security

A:How important is 3rd generation vs. 4rth generation Intel?

conceptualclarit said:

Not surprising, that is an ancient computer that should have been retired years ago.

4th generation processors(Haswell) are the current and newest models, and they do offer slight power improvements over 3rd gen models(Ivy Bridge) in laptops but both are very good series. Getting over years out of a computer probably isn't going happen with a laptop or any PC these days though. I'd just find a laptop that meets your needs and fits your budget and go from there; base it on screen size, CPU performance, memory, hard drive capacity, graphics card, brand, etc.

Hi everyone, I'm a student and planning to buy the Campus version of the Thinkpad T480s with the Nvidia chip. It doesn't come with a WWAN module, but I'd like to add one. Information on that topic seems sparse and I tried to look for M.2 slot WWAN modules at different online stores. I found a few ones, namely- Huawei ME906S, listed to be compatible with 2016 Thinkpads- Sierra EM7455, listed to be compatible with the *70 series Thinkpads- Fibocom L831-EA (Intel XMM 7160), listed to be compatible with *70 series Thinkpads According to this reddit, at least the Huawei and Sierra ones are incompatible unauthorized for a T480s which, if true, is simply inconvenient, annoying and disappointing. As I mentioned above, buying a Thinkpad with a pre-installed LTE module is not an option because I'd like to have the Nvidia chip and am buying a Lenovo Campus Thinkpad which comes at a reduced price (and in Germany, it's the only way to get one with an Nvidia chip). As the Lenovo configurator and the T480s platform specifications indicate, the Fibocom L830-EB (Intel XMM 7262) and Fibocom L850-GL (Intel XMM 7360) are officially used and should definitely be compatible. However, I can't find them anywhere except pre-configured with a Thinkpad, which is not an option for me. Can anyone please help me with either of the following:- Is the Fibocom L831-EA (Intel XMM 7160) authorized for and compatible with the T480s?- Is there any place where I can get a Fibocom L83... I open my computer today and to my surprise I find the display flickering with a glitched image whenever I move the cursor around with the trackpad. Here is a video of what I'm seeing. I received this computer less than a week ago (4/16/18) and I am still babying it more than I would my primary laptop so I am surprised to see this kind of issue so quickly. It went away after a reboot but the glitches persisted through the shut down process. My drivers are all up to date and I have no idea where else this came from. Has anyone else had this issue or know where it stems from.

Writing from my PC, as of over a month ago my brand new ThinkPad had the latest windows update and turned into a worthless unproductive screen and touchpad system. I have waited on updates and since then the BIOS, some hotkeys and other keyboard related drivers have been updated. All related drivers have been re-installed all up-to-date etc. Though currently the following things occur when typing, when pressing:"backspace key" once= replace last key with a y"backspace key" hold= replace last key with a y and keep placing y's"n" key= adds a space before every n typed so it would look like le novo"y" key once= nothing happens"y" key hold= places y's"j" key= types out "<j"Spamming letters: random fn keys are activated, eg sound brightness etc."=" key= the "°" degree symbol"-" key= "/" And many more examples like this, basically have no clue what to do; I've called Lenovo and the store I bought it from; both replied that I had to wait for updates though I am not really counting on that being a solution anytime soon so I would hugely appreciate your time in providing a solve for my problem! Thanks for your time, Andreas

Good afternoon, I have just purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga X1 3rd Gen laptop.  I am having issues with connecting to a broadband, i.e. cellular, connection.  I have purchased a SIM card from a local cellular carrier, and have verified that the band that this laptop operates on is compatible with their system.  Once I have inserted the card, and powered on the device, I am unable to connect to the broadband connection.  It is just stuck at "connecting". I have verified that the sim card is active, and have gone as far as to swap the sim card from my phone with the one that is in the laptop.  Still having the same issues. I have opened a case with Lenovo support, and unforunately I am receiving the run around with this issue. Anyone have any suggestions on a possible remedy to this issue?

Recently my Yoga has begun to not work very well with external monitors and USB-C docks. Specifically, if I am plugged into a dock with working external monitors, then remove the USB-C plug then plug it back in again, the external monitors will no longer display. This can often be fixed by shutting the laptop lid and opening it again. Sometimes this is just fixed randomly by waiting. Sometimes a reboot will fix it. Suspecting that it is an issue with the drivers, I have gone to the downloads page and downloaded "Intel Graphics Driver (Version 1709 or later)". When I attempt to install these drivers however I get the error message "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements to install this software". I get this when I try to install manually OR when I try to use the Thinkvantage software to update my computer. Not sure why my computer would not meet the minimum requirements if this is the download specifically for my computer. How can I still this software or fix my external monitor issue? Thanks!

Vega3,8,10 natively support HDMI 2.0b with HDR. But Lenovo write in psref for Ryzen series support only for HDMI 1.4b? Why? And how is this possible? After all, in order to get HDMI 1.4b from 2.0b, you need to unsolder a special chip converter from 2.0b hardware protocol in 1.4b(downgrade!). Which is absurd in essence. Moreover, customer reviews already confirm that versions with Ryzen give out [email protected] by HDMI, which on series with Intel UHD620 is not physically possible without soldering the LSPCON chip (by Intel datasheet for UHD620/630), but only in HDMI 2.0a (not log gamma data for HDR, as supported in 2.0b), which Lenovo does not soldered for the saving. But for what Lenovo writes lies in psref about HDMI 1.4b in versions with Ryzen , it is not clear to me, thus confusing buyers that thinking, then they will not be able to output movies in 4k with HDR and will not be able to connect 4k monitors @60Hz. Although all this will 100% work on Ryzen on HDMI, but 100% will not work on versions with Intel! It turns out that versions with Intel are flawed compared to versions of Ryzen. All Lenovo laptop options that do not officially have HDMI 2.0b and do not have DP1.2 support through, if this don't have a separate port for DP1.2(1.4 for HDR) or DP Alt Mode output via usb-c (DP1.2 and DP1.4 for Titan Ridge with TB3.0 support)...

After seeing the A/E485 keyboard issues, the reddit Thinkpad community investigated the remaining Thinkpad keyboards. We discovered that these other, non-A/E485 Thinkpad keyboards also have significant coalescing problems which scramble keys. A test program to quantify the issue reveals that keys closer than 23ms are scrambled. Many people collaborated over many machines to provide data. To easily see the problem, press "asdf" simultaneously, and note that "fdsa" will appear. It's much easier to type fdsa really fast than to type asdf fast, on a Thinkpad keyboard. We hope that this can be fixed because the E-series does not experience this issue. The trackpoint also has poor sampling behavior, with a 7ms internal sampling rate and a 16ms external sampling rate. I have a set of HP Z210 Workstations with E3-1245-V2 Xeon Cpu's, SSD boot drives and varying sizes of memory from 8-16GB 1600Mghz DDR3 ECC. We use Windows 8 Enterprise for these machines, with Hyper-V enabled.
We get regular driver failures from the 2 sets of USB controllers on the machines (Mainly and issue for the KB & Mouse) that can only be resolved with a full power down (not restart) and a power up. This happens at least once every 1-3 days per machine.
I had gone through the HP support, but they have advised this isn't an issue on their side, and I had agreed all along. I was just hoping to get some traction by notifying them. Anyway, after a lengthy trouble shooting session, we found that once Hyper-V
was enabled, the fault arose.
As it was an Intel chip, they I asked them. They advised that on Windows 8, the drivers are supplied via windows update and that it was not their issue.
So, how can I get this resolved? Not through HP or Intel, surely through MS? Maybe not. Disabling Hyper-V is not desired as I the teams with these PC's are developers and require local visualization. Also, we have templates ready for Hyper-V, I don't really
want to remove Hyper-V and use Virtual box or VMWare workstation. but I am at wits end with the fault and lack of help from the vendors.
Please help.

A:Hyper-V causes Intel(R) Series/C200 Series Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller driver to fail

I have found a work around for this fault with the USB failure - ENSURE YOU POWER  THE MACHINE OFF - DO NOT RESTART.
Its almost like the restart doesn't initialise the device correct, thus causing a failure.

I know it's been posted a s#!+load of times, but I figured I'd go ahead and get something straightforward- all the other posts have been in jungle English, and haven't included the proviso I'm looking for.

Anyways, my situation is that I bought my X1900GT from Newegg around Christmastime, as a present to my ainsel (ownself, for those not familiar). I've been getting kind of disappointed in it recently: It underperforms and often crashes on STALKER:Shadow of Chernobyl and some more modern games akin to it. It also runs hot as Hades.

I'm in the market for a new card. I'd like to go DX10, but the late-production DX9's (7900 series) seem to outperform a lot of the more affordable DX10 offerings (8600 series), especially at higher resolutions, due to the 128-to-256 bit difference. I could splurge and go for an 8800, I suppose, but it would be a hit to the wallet and I'd have to postpone :cough: "Aruban Getaway 2008".

So: I don't want to pass up on the new line of DX10-only Games for Windows (Age of Conan, Crysis, etc.) that have been hyped to all hell just because I stuck with price and performance instead of currency and novelty. I need some help deciding. Then again, I could always wait until DX10 becomes the vogue and buy a cheaper, but better card then.

A:Price v. Performance in 7-Series + 8-Series: Advice Needed

Keep what you got and see what's comming next. I have a 8600GT as a stopgap until something better comes out. There has been talk of a Nvidia 256bit card to fill the gap between the 8600's and 8800's. I can't fit a 8800 in my case, if I could I would just get the 8800GTS 320mb now. If I were you, wait for the game to upgrade instead of upgrading and waiting for the game. Your X1900GT is no slouch either.

Here are some common points of frequent discussion:

How to get a system fast: Buy an in-stock standard configuration from Lenovo or a Lenovo Partner in your area. Customized systems take longer.
Avoid Credit Holds - ensure that BOTH your bill to and ship to addresses are listed with your CC bank before ordering
Lenovo will not bill your card until order ships - an authorization charge hold to check for available balance may show up when order is first placed.
Estimated ship dates are based on default lead time and can vary from what was displayed on website.
In the US and Canada, Lenovo utilizes UPS for new product shipments
Orders may ship before the Estimated Ship Date
Orders may enter through Alaska and pass through Louisville, KY before traveling on to final address
Cancellation requests may take up to 2 days to process
Requests to change configuration or other aspects of the order may require the order to be rebooked.
Lenovo does not accept payment via international credit cards, except AMEX.

I want to invest in a SDD to replace my dying westgate harddrive. I've set my mind on Corsair but I want to know the difference between the eXtreme series and the Performance series (http://www.corsair.com/products/ssd_home.aspx). According to the website, X SDDs reads a little bit faster, but the P series writes a little bit faster. The only other thing is that the P series is around £100 cheaper!

So is the X series worth the extra £100?

Hi guys, my 6 years old Asus is starting to show signs of age, and I was thinking about replacing it with a Thinkpad. Being a poor man, the T or X series is out of question for me (sadly). So I was thinking about getting either the E460 (if it's one day available in France ...) or the L450 laptop. Given everythin I read here, I'm still not clear about the differences between the E series and the L series , they have almost the same price and configuration. Does someone know what are the main differences between the two series ? Should I take the E460 or the L450 ?

My computer has recently developed a fault which may see me need to upgrade sooner rather than later. The problem with this is that pcs now seem to be going through a generation change, much like consoles. The basic changes i see happening now are -

1) Intel core 2 duo release
2) New chipset motherboards for these
3) Windows Vista (Jan) and therefore directx10
4) Directx10 graphics card (or 2x crossfire/Sli)

is there any point in buying a system now, if not when do you believe all the new techonology will be on the market to make a complete new-generation system. For example i havnt heard news of any directx10 graphics cards yet.

Really need some guidance. I have scanned with adware, microsoft antispyware, avg, ewido and numerouse online scans but cannot get anything to identify what is causing pop ups.

Ewido suggests it is spyware.Look2Me but symantec removal tool does not find it. I also have randomly generated DLLs appearing in the system32 folder.

Any help would be much appreciated:

Hi I have some Toshiba Tecra M10 series but for some reason the laptop no longer works with a battery attached and just get flashing light on the laptop. It works fine with power but won't swatch on at all with a fully charge battery, I have tried many and it's not the battery. I have taken the laptop apart but can?t find anything that is wrong. So it must be the battery and or charge circuit, resisters, gone on the M10.

Anyway I was looking at a motherboard replacement. On looking about it appears that Toshiba released a M10 and a A10 series. They both look about the same to me with the same fittings but to be sure, can anyone tell me if a A10 motherboard, is the same as the M10 motherboard?

Maybe someone who works with these day in day out hopefully will know. Just don?t want to buy and A10 if it?s not compatible with M10 case and fittings.

Hi there,  I just got an X1 Carbon 6th gen. Can someone tell me if, Is it safe to charge the laptop from either USB-C ports?Just to make sure, you should be able to charge the laptop with the USB-C charger plugged in either way correct? It took me literally 20 minutes to explain to the support guy. Then finally he tried it in an X1 he had on him and realized it should charge no matter how it's plugged in, unlike a traditional USB.  I appreciate the help!

A:X1 Carbon 6th Generation USB-C

From your user's guide, page 3:
"The two USB-C connectors also work as power connectors. The ac power adapter shipped with your computer is a USB-C power adapter. Use the shipped power adapter and power cord to connect the computer to ac power through either of the two USB-C connectors."

Could someone talk me thru the process of generating a 128-bit encrypted password so I can secure my wireless Belkin router? I'm confused by terms like AEP-WKP and all I want to do is make my router password encrypted. Thanks

A:password generation

WPA/WPA2 with a long and random password (20 characters, letters and numbers) will do the trick just fine.

If you're talking 128-bit, you are probably thinking of WEP, better than nothing, but not nearly as secure as WPA.

I have a H50-55 (90BG0022US), I can't find any mother board specs - I want to put an SSD in my system, but I can't find anything to tell me what generation the PCI-E slots are. There is 1 x16 and two x1 slots, but I need to know their generation (1.0, 2.0 or 3.0) to know how fast the x1 slots are.
Also, is there somewhere I should have been able to find this information without coming to the forum? I looked but couldn't find it anywhere.

A:H50-55 - PCI-E slots - what generation?

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !
I'm not an owner of your model, but I was able to find those specification in the H50-55's PSREF specification sheet.  Here is a brief summary....
Slot 1: half-length, full-height, PCIe x16 (Version 3.0) Slot 2: half-length, full-height, PCIe x1 (Version 2.0) Slot 3: half-length, full-height, PCIe x1 (Version 2.0) Slot 4: PCIe Mini Card x1 (Version 2.0, for optional WLAN)
More more information please see the complete PSREF at the link below.  Just click on the + sign next to Specifications to expand the list.
